I explain to her the purpose of this final project and I assure her that no graphic pictures or videos

Would you be able to watch your wife or daughter die in front of you because of a pregnancy that
could have been aborted? Would you willingly give birth to a child you know will only suffer and be
in pain for the rest of their life, due to a health problem? These are questions the American people
need to start asking. Recently the topic of abortion has been debated a lot because of the ban on late
term abortion. An abortion is the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often
performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy. It has been a topic that has been debated since the
court case Roe v. Wade in Jan. 22, 1973. Even though the case declared it a "fundamental right"
there has been a lot of debate regarding abortion. There are two sides to the argument, Pro choice
advocated who believe that women should be given the choice to have an abortion. The other side is
Pro–life who are against abortion. A lot of people are very narrow minded and know very little about
late term abortions and abortions in general. Late–term abortion is drastically different than early
abortion, but both should be legal to those women who choose this method.
Studies have shown that women who were denied abortion were more mentally affected than
women who went through with a abortion. A study was conducted by National Comorbidity
Survey– Replication regarding mental health and abortion in 2014. ¨After accounting for

The Pros And Cons Of Late-Term Abortion
Did you know that only a small portion of Late–term Abortions are for medical reasons, more so
being for psychosocial(Ballaro and Wagner). A pregnancy lasts for 40 weeks(9 months) and

Surprise You."). Having a late–term abortion isn't the best solution because it cost a lot of money, an
inhumane unnecessary procedure, and most of the time the baby could survive outside the womb.

They will claim that less than 4% of abortions in the U.S. are Late–term(Rich and Bourassa). That
it's not harmful to the women because less than 0.3% of abortions end in hospitalization
("ABORTION AFTER THE FIRST TRIMESTER."). Most people will say that it's right to have any
kind of abortion when you have been raped. The statistics on abortions because of rape is only about
1%("Abortions In America." ). Therefore, a very small portion is actually because of rape. The only
way a late–term abortion is performed by many doctors is in a case where the woman's life is in

most places. Whether you support it or not these reason aren't very valid because they can be fought
against.
In conclusion, having a late–term abortion isn't the best solution because it cost a lot of money, an

date, and the baby is starting to flex and stretch. Also the mother is about to fell her baby

Late Term Abortion
Late term abortion, whereby of twenty weeks an unborn fetus is injected with Dignoxin, giving the
fetus a painful fatal heart attack and allowing the women's body to undergo physical repercussions.
The procedure takes the women through three to four days of painful incisions and contractions until
the abortion's complete. The procedure may not always succeed which can lead to unexpected live
births. The mother may also experience some effects after the abortion, such as minor spotting to
serious complications like a hemorrhage. Women, who have abortions, increase the chances of
having future pregnancy complications.
George Tiller, a late term abortionist, created the technique used across the states known as the
MOLD Technique. MOLD, an acronym for the four ingredients utilized during the procedure:
Misoprostol, Oxytocin, Laminaria and Digoxin. The use of this technique can occur as early as
twenty weeks to as far as thirty–five weeks into the pregnancy. When a woman can have an abortion
depends on the state the woman decides to have the procedure done ("Operation Rescue," 2016).
U.S. Supreme Court stands firm on the idea of restricting a woman 's right to an abortion according
