The Best Villain
Many stories feature a hero who behaves honorably and fights for good. These same stories often
include a villain who behaves selfishly and stands at odds with the hero. In your opinion, who is the
best villain from a movie or piece of literature? Think about what traits make him or her a good
villain, and how he or she contrasts the hero.
Write an essay that describes your favorite villain. Be sure to include details about the villain's
characteristics, and compare those traits to the hero's characteristics.
As you write, remember your essay will be scored based on how well you:
develop a multi–paragraph response to the assigned topic that clearly communicates your
controlling idea to the audience. support your controlling idea with meaningful examples,
information, and references from the text. cite direct quotes ... Show more content on

The Joker knows that Bruce Wayne is Batman, but has no intention of killing him out of suit, he
only wants Gotham to see Batman dead. He is incredibly smart, evil, out of touch with reality, and
that's what shapes him into one of the best villains. His orginin is unknown, even his name is
unknown, but his intentions aren't. He wants to cause chaos and hurt to everyone he can, whuch for
the most part is Gotham city. He is my favorite character because of his battle with Batman and the
way he intends to frustrate Batman.
The Joker has many unsettling characteristics about him. Such as his impulsivity, lack of remorse,
and insanity. He is extremely out of touch with reality, after an accident in his early life, he totally
lost his mind. He has no sense if reality, or remorse, making him a great fit for a supervillain. He had
no clear reason to why he wants to cause chaos, no issues with anyone in Gotham, no grudge against
anyone, he simply does it for

Darth Vader: The Villain In The Star Wars
Villains in shows, movies, comics, and videogames are just as important as the hero. They give the
show, movie etc. a plot and a point for it to be done. Without the villains, everything would be
different and a lot more boring. One super famous villain is the Green Goblin which came out in
Spider–man movies and comics. Another great villain is Darth Vader which comes out in the Star
Wars movies and games. Also, Ganondorf is one of the most famous and memorable video game
villains. One tremendously famous villain comes from comics and from the movie Spiderman. The
villain is known as Green Goblin. Green Goblin's real name is Norman Osborn and is the archenemy

Darth Vader is the main Villain in the Star Wars universe. Before becoming "Darth Vader" he was
Anakin Skywalker. Anakin is considered to be the most powerful jedi to exist. The main thing that
made Darth Vader a villain in the Star Wars Realm, is that, despite being the strongest Jedi, all other
Jedi refused to make him a master. This makes him mad and leads him to believe that all Jedi are
jealous of his power and they are purposely holding him back. He then becomes the apprentice of
Palpatine after saving him from Windu, another Jedi. Then, Palpatine issued Order 66 which causes
the Clone Troopers to demolish the Jedi. Darth Vader, after he follows Palpatine's orders, killed the
younglings at the Jedi temple. "More than 100 Jedi survived Order 66, and Darth Vader made it his
mission to destroy them all." (Hill 1) This is the main goal of Darth Vader. He wants to destroy
every Jedi there is. He is successful in his purge with only a few Jedi that remained including Yoda
and Obi–Wan Kenobi. After this, Vader prepares everyone for the fall of The Republic and Rise of
Palpatine's empire. Vader was not defeated but instead has a change in heart. His son, Luke
Skywalker, destroys the Death Star. Vader tortures him but instead of watching his own son die and
suffer, he stops and throws out Palpatine and his empire with the help of the

The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn By William Twain
1. Twain must have thought Huck carried on his ideas best, and Huck is character that is quite
dynamic throughout the story because everyone heavily influences him until he decides to take
control of his own life.
2. The first act would be like an introduction to Huck's life and how he lives with the widow because
of his rough life. The next act would be his escape with Jim and starting his path up the river like his
call to action. Huck's "I'll go to hell moment," should be act three because that is the moment the
audience sees him no longer on the fence about everything. The fourth act would be the plan to help
Jim escape because freedom is so close yet so far. Obviously the last act will involve catching up
with the characters and providing closure for most.
3. The first one would be Huck abusive father because he seems to be the only one who can truly
hold back. Jim is running away from slavery and needs to get his family back too. The Wilks sisters
need to find their voice and independence. Huck also needs to find himself and not bend to others
will. The main ones are solved. Huck's father dies. Jim finds his freedom. The Wilks sisters stop the
king and the dauphin. Huck presumably figures part of his life out and then the book is left in the
open. The bigger scale problems of society approving of slavery is defiantly not resolved nor in the
present day. Human trafficking exists. Tom Sawyer's stupidity is also incurable.
4.Each setting within itself brought a new

Why Do Supervillains Fascinate Human Nature?
Evil. Why is human nature so attracted to it? Is it because humans have unusual physical drives? Is
it that humans are naturally sadistic? When we are kids, we are taught the difference between good
and evil. As kids, we tend to want to be the good guys and wan to fight the bad guys. But as we
mature and grow older those thoughts and feelings change and we are driven to want to be, the bad
guys. The waterfall of pleasure and adrenaline rush through our veins and we are drawn to our very
nature of feeling gratification.
From a psychological perspective, one of the many reason why evil fascinates human nature is
because of shadow confrontation. According to the article, "Why Do Supervillains Fascinate us? A
Psychological Perspective," by Travis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In most cases, Criminologists assume that all individuals portray these types of behaviors to get
money, seek revenge, break the law, get drugs, hurt or kill someone. Yet, can all crimes and villains
be the same? "Each crime and villain has its own distinctive appeals, at once thrilling to its
participants, and yet thrilling in different ways and for different reasons" (Turk, 7). To understand
the villain and the crime we must look at the, "action itself and the actor's experience to it" (Turk, 7).
For example, Ted Bundy, an infamous serial killer, in an interview with psychologist James Dobson,
Bundy revealed how, "his addiction for hard–core pornography fueled his terrible crimes"
(pureintimacy.org). Bundy committed the actions of, "serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, burglar, and
necrophilia who assaulted and murdered numerous young women and girls" (pureintimacy.org). The
experience Bundy had to his actions started when he was around 12 or 13 years old, when he found
a "dirty magazine" and from there his addiction to porn started. As the porn got more violent,
Bundy's hunger for his fantasy got bigger, until his fantasy became a reality. Bundy stated that his
crimes were fueled by porn, but alcohol was also a factor. Bundy claims that he came from a loving
Christian family and that after he committed his crimes he became a "normal person." If people saw
him on the streets he would be just an average guy on the streets, no one could ever imagine his true
identity underneath. Bundy blames violent porn and alcohol but also declares that he is fully
responsible for his actions. Though, Bundy's explanation for his crimes can be heard, can we fully
understand his motives? No matter how many times a villain tries to explain their crime, a person
who them selves did

Character Analysis Of The Tyrannical Scientist
The Tyrannical Scientist Exposition: Setting, Protagonist, Conflict Once upon a time, in the 21st

What Is Plankton Evil
My Favorite Villain Essay My Favorite Villain is Plankton because he is evil, he is smart, and he has
his own business. Plankton is evil because he just wants the Krabby Patty formula so people will
come into the Chum Bucket. No one likes planktons food because it's made out of dead fish and
they are fish. Plankton thinks that if he can get the Krabby patty formula then people will come in. I
think plankton is nice sometimes and he just wants people to recognize him and he wants attention.
Plankton is really smart because he makes inventions and he sneaks into the Krusty krab a lot.

Incredibles have the story all wrong I am the good guy and they are the bad guys and i'm gonna tell
you why. This is how it all started when I was 10 years old I got to meet Mr. Incredible and he was
my hero and all I wanted was to work with him and be apart of his team. Mr. Incredible yelled at me
back and said "No one wants you dumb kid I work alone.." That destroyed me as a kid and like they
say sometimes your hero turns into your enemy and in this case that is true.

The Superhero Of Superhero Movies
Superhero movies have been on the rise lately. These movies are often looked at as entertainment for
people who play Dungeons and Dragons and are simply mindless pleasure; however, this is not the
case. The reason behind the popularity of superhero movies is more than just the want of the
common comic book reader. The superhero movie industry has made a sharp incline in popularity;
in fact there are more superhero movies now than ever before. A website called Fights, Tights and
Movie Nights listed all of the superhero movies made since the 1980's by year and these were their
findings. In the 1980's an average of three to four super movies came out a year. In the 1990's these
movies were made on average five to six times per year. In the 2000's the movies doubled to 12–13
produced on average each year. Today, 2010's, the average number of superhero movies has again
doubled in size with it now resting at twenty–two to twenty–three superhero movies made on
average each year. The drastic increase of the number of superhero movies leaves the average movie
attendee wondering why they are seeing this spike of superhero movies. The increase of superhero
movies can be contributed to a few key factors: the advances of technology in the movie industry,
the movie genre's adaption to be socially relevant, and the characters now possessing more
humanistic qualities (Fights...).
When asking most people why they think superhero movies have made such surges in popularity
over the last

The Theme Of Hope In The Road By Cromac Mccarthy
"Where there is life, there is hope." In The Road by Cromac McCarthy a reoccurring theme in the
story is hope, whether it is losing or gaining it. Throughout this story there are numerous instances
and events that occur in which all seems lost at a dead end, but in those moment hope carries
through and thrives. In this dystopian post apocalyptic world the man and boy or fighting to stay
alive while keeping their humanity as well as searching for what humanity is left in this kill or be
killed cannibalistic planet. As their time journeying down the road increases so do the dangers and
obstacles they face to survive. The more they overcome the more hope thrives in them showing that
in even in the most catastrophic events having hope helps them get closer to finding the light at the
end of the tunnel and not being consumed by the darkness.
In this new world it is no longer a matter of just surviving, but keeping your humanity while
surviving. While it is easier to resort to evil and be the bad guy, the father and son fight to keep what
humanity they have left to be the good guys, which in this post–apocalyptic world almost costs them
their lives at times. On a constant search for food they almost end up starving and lose a lot of
weight, but luckily come upon dried apples and in another case a bomb shelter full of necessities.
The bad guys however, have completely gone mad and use cannibalism as an alternative turning this
new world into a kill or be killed world. They

Compare And Contrast Playdoh And The Joker
Supervillain Compare & Contrast Essay Super Villains, with powers or not, are remarkably popular
considering that they are such unfavorable people. Fictional villains are generally defined as evil,
and it is questioned whether this indication leaves for reason to believe that being evil is popular.
These characters come in various shapes and sizes, albeit they habitually have similar schemes.
Villains dominate a penchant to act upon impulses triggered by greed or a lust for revenge against
the protagonist, one that has usually been derived from severed relationships in the past. Although
villains may share similar backgrounds and experiences, Playdoh and The Joker have several
contrasting features including setting, characterization, abilities, and motives. In the societies of the

The villains in comparison retain the same incentive for all schemes: to spread terror and evil in the
vicinity of their societal norm. Actions that are taken are differentiated between the qualities and
abilities of the villains, as one villain often does not have the power that is encompassed by another.
The abilities that Playdoh restrains in comparison to those of The Joker allow for him to be
classified as a higher rank of superhuman, as his skills are considered to be more abnormal in
regards to a human's natural endurance. The Joker, consequently, is ordained to be more of a villain
than Playdoh, as his practices are more villainous and disastrous in opposition to Playdoh. While
one character upholds the position as a villain, the other carries perplexed qualities of superpowers
over the alternative. Therefore, Playdoh and The Joker's qualities and aspirations balance out one
another's in regards to their status, dignity, and prestige over their title in

The Difference Between Heroes And Villains
Alsford, Mike. Heroes And Villains. Waco: Baylor UP, 2006. Print.
" The very heart of the notion of the villain is a refusal to submit to the social contract" (106).
The book distinguishes the difference between heroes and villains and what separates them from
each other. Heroes and villains are both gifted with powers that they have received either from a
spider bite or they are born with it or the possibility that they are from another planet, in other words
"Aliens". Heroes believe that they have received/born with super powers to help and save the
innocent. While on the other side, villains believe they have superpowers to help them change the
world they live in and make it their own. Societies impose rules and laws and expect all members of
the society to obey those rules, but that's not the case with villains. Super villains believe that rules
and laws don't apply to them because they are superior, strong and have abilities that ordinary
people don't have. Villain's aspiration is to live in a world that is made from his or her own set of
rules. Super villains have ambitions just like anyone else but most people believe what super villains
are admiring and trying to accomplish wrong while the villains believe its right in their mind. ...

Madman Research Paper
Jasmine Brewton ENC 1102 Fitzgerald 12 March 2013 Why People Love the Villain: A Synthesis

madman out to watch the world burn as he causes chaos, which he calls "justice". And even though
he is evil and madness incarnate, there's still a place for him in people's minds under the category of
awesome. From the show Supernatural, the fallen angel, Lucifer enjoys torturing, killing and

his reasoning. The Villain opposite the mighty hero will always be considered the underdog. He is

The Night Angel Research Paper
The Night Angel is mighty, yet heartless, brilliant, but feared. Known across the land, his name is
whispered, for those who know of him, are terrified of him. They say his breath causes disease, that
his skin feels scaly, yet slimey like a worm. Strong as an ox, yet sly as a fox. He terrifies, yet
clarified as the worst, but greatest, supervillain.
The vilest supervillain would obviously shine as the most powerful, immediately sending the Night

the most evil villain, he has caused great wars, and rivalries that last to this day. Once causing a

Short Summary Of Metro Man
The film opens with a flashback: as two planets are sucked into a black hole, each one sends out a
rocket ship carrying an infant boy of that planet, the last of their kind. One child, a handsome boy
endowed with superpowers, landed in a mansion and was admired by all; he became the superhero
Metro Man. The other, a blue–skinned baby with super genius, ended up in a prison and was
shunned by society; he became the supervillain Megamind, Metro Man's rival.
All is as usual in Metro City: the town felicitates Metro Man with the inauguration of his own
museum, when Megamind gatecrashes the event and announces that he has (once again) escaped
from prison with the help of his childhood friend/henchman Minion. Following routine, he has once
again kidnapped Metro Man's girlfriend, reporter Roxanne Ritchi. Megamind lures Metro Man into
a sealed observatory which will be blown up by a laser, but the laser takes too long to start up, so
once more Megamind has failed and Metro Man is victorious... but Metro Man can't escape the
observatory. He states that the observatory is lined with copper, which drains his powers. Unable to
escape when the laser activates, Metro Man is incinerated into a skeleton. Megamind has fulfilled
the supervillain's dream, to the shock of everyone (including Megamind himself): he has vanquished
the superhero, and Metro City is now his to take over!

Villains in Hollywood Films Essay
Villains in Hollywood Films
Alfred Hitchcock once said "The better the villain, the better the film" and this year's Hollywood
filmmakers have abided by this golden rule as there was no stopping this year's summer
blockbusters from having a whole horde of villainous characters spreading their wings onto the big
screen, making the darker side more appealing for audiences. Everybody has gone villain this year,
from Tom Cruise to Halle Berry, from the not– so–friendly extra terrestrials in Alien Vs Predator to
Spiderman's sworn enemy Dr Octopus, played by Alfred Molina.

One movie era portrayed villains from medieval times like the Vikings and evil knights. Villains on
film have evolved devilishly throughout the ages from Nazis to mad scientists, psychopaths,

How Jaws devoured its way to being Hollywood's first summer blockbuster villain.
Over the years the villain has had to move with the times, but there was one villain created that
made history for he not only devoured his way, sweeping away other villains that were ruling over
the box office, but paved the term "summer movie blockbuster". That villain would be Jaws. Back in
1975 Jaws was a phenomenon upon release, but it was, first and foremost, an exemplary piece of
suspenseful storytelling by a young talented Steven Spielberg, who would later become Hollywood's
most commercial film director. Darth Vader in Star Wars, two years later, might have provided the
evolutionary conclusion of the summer movie villain as a multimedia marketing event – complete
with action figures in every toy shop – but it was Steven Spielberg's sea predator that proved to be a
quantum leap, marketing wise. Even the movie poster was deadly scary to look at: the image of a
female swimmer enjoying the sunny afternoon out at sea with the threatening primal beast in the
background became immediately a classic. So has John William's musical

Yes. This is a story about me; Sammy McDiarmid. How I became a great villain. Everyone knows

I was in my Grandfather's garden picking grape tomatoes when I saw something jump up out of the

medium sized rock. When I lifted the rock up, I saw a creepy looking praying mantis feasting on a
small rodent. The mantis looked up at me, jumped up, and poked me in the arm. The last thing I saw

what villains and what superheroes were lurking around. Whatever enemy was "saving lives" at the

I know I was just eager. So I got on and saw that there were villains striking, but I wasn't against

I grabbed my weapons and set off on my quest. The fun part about this was that I finally got to use

Factors That Make People Become A Supervillain
I have always thought of superheroes as beings with an unattainable, unnatural level of perfection.
They were, to me at least, those who were faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a
locomotive. There is, however, more to superheroes (and by association, supervillains) than that. I've
found there are several factors that make someone become a superhero or a supervillain. The world
needs saving, and knowing what it takes to become a superhero or a supervillain, makes it easier to
support the former and avoid the latter.
It's important to acknowledge that as humans, we are prone to divide the world into an "us" versus
"them" situation. The "them" category is seen as the one with more negative, undesirable attributes.
For instance vampires, demons, evil Gods, they're all viewed as "them"; they're different so they're
the bad guys. Whenever one feels noticeably different, it leads them to think of themselves as part of
the "them" category. For someone really smart, for example, growing up with children not as smart
or gifted in a particular way, they will feel different. The Thing, from the movie The Fantastic Four
says as he walks through a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrary to popular belief, costumes aren't only for superheroes and Halloween. Costumes
communicate something about the person wearing it. It also communicates something about the role
they're playing. People form impressions based on what they glean from the costume. The same way
good–looking people are seen as kind, and well groomed job applicants as more competent, we see
Superman, with his square jaw, his powerful posture, and his colorful latex suit as a superhero.
Similarly, people tend to view old and unattractive people as unfriendly, the same way they see, say,
nose–less Lord Voldemort as the epitome of unfriendliness. Catwoman, in her daunting leather suit,

The Superhero Effect: Idealism and Stereotypes in Comic Books
In our society, certain ideals are held in high regard. Individuals relentlessly pursue these ideals to
achieve a perceived perfection. These principles are often depicted in media that further glorifies
and establishes a desire to pursue these paragons. In a medium such as comic books, however, these
standards and perceptions are heavily distorted by the characterizations and settings. Particularly, the
superhero genre absorbs the ideals we strive towards and regurgitates them in an extreme and
unrealistic manner. The superhero genre is often reflective of societal changes in ideas and morals.
These ideals are then molded into misleading representations that influence the behaviors of
viewers. Comic books absorb elements of our society ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The superhero genre, despite presenting the metamorphosis of our enemy, misrepresents our enemy
and influences people's perceptions of the enemy. Furthermore, the superhero genre heavily
endorses the concept of sexism in its stories. Women are misrepresented as feeble and weak without
the aid of men. They are often simply characterized as sex objects that are grotesquely unrealistic
and disproportionate compared to the average woman. " Women must either be unrecognizably
masculine or unfaithful nymphomaniacs... they must be eroticized and mercilessly beaten"
(Siddiqui). Comic books make every effort to cater to the male audience by providing sexualized
females who wear skimpy outfits and show lots of cleavage. It has become the staple of the
superhero genre to show extremely skinny, very busty female figures. Rather than focusing on
inherent qualities of intelligence, determination, and tenacity, comic book writers focus on
presenting so–called attractive women. However, these depictions have a stringent impact on the
women viewership and the young girls who are surrounded by such ideas. These people begin
feeling worthless in comparison to the superior men who seem to always save the day. In showing
Doctor Doom caging Morgan le Fay (Michelinie 37), comic books depict men as easily able to
outwit and defeat female characters. Even depictions of female superheroes seem to emphasize their
weakness in comparison

The Road By Cormac Mccarthy
"Hope... Sometimes that's all you have when you have nothing else. If you have it. You have
everything ." In The Road by Cormac McCarthy a recurring theme in the story is gaining or losing
hope. Throughout this story there are numerous instances and events that occur in which all seems
lost at a dead end, but in those moment hope carries through and thrives. In this dystopian post
apocalyptic world the man and boy are fighting to stay alive while keeping their humanity as well as
searching for what humanity is left in this kill or be killed cannibalistic planet. As their time
journeying down the road increases so do the dangers and obstacles they face to survive. The more
they overcome the more hope thrives in them showing that in even in the most catastrophic events
having hope helps them get closer to finding the light at the end of the tunnel and not being
consumed by the darkness.

Animated Movie Wreck It Ralph
The animated film, Wreck–it Ralph, directed by Rich Moore, follows the adventures of a "bad guy"
by the name of Ralph as he looks to distinguish himself as more than a bad guy in the sense of the
word. The move takes place inside of a video game called "Wreck–it–Ralph", located in a larger
arcade store filled with customers. Wreck–it–Ralph is a game where Ralph is designed as a muscular
freak with only one purpose in his life, to destroy and damage a high–rise apartment in the game,
that is until Fix–it–Felix comes in and saves the day. In the eyes of the viewer, Ralph is the villain
who looks to destroy the building, and the player takes control of Felix in order to fix Ralph's
wrong–doings. What becomes apparent to the viewer rather quickly is that Ralph is no stereotypical
"bad guy", and he wishes to be known for more than the guy who just destroys the building, and
who is cast off as a menace to those inside the game. In a very Toy–Story like design, the characters
inside the video games become alive when the arcade store shuts down for the day, and customers
leave. Its at this point characters gather together for drinks, nights out or in Ralphs case, a support
group for bad guys trying to deal with the stresses and difficulties of being bad. Looking to prove
himself, Ralph eventually leaves his game as he looks to find a better identity for himself as opposed
to his bad guy label, as chaos ensues. The movie incorporates video games into its design through

Sky High Essay
So High For Sky High Since its release in 2005, the successful movie Sky High has captivated
young children across the world. This fantasy /coming of age movie was directed by Mike Mitchell,
encourages young children to not discriminate people because of their personal characteristics and
attributes. The director deliberately distinguishes distinct demographics, including superheros,
supervillains, sidekicks, parents and the bullies, through the use of hints and tipoffs throughout the
movie. Mature audiences could possibly foresee the plot of the movie, as the younger audience
would not be able to predict it as easily. To a degree, the movie shows you to never change for
someone and not to decimate people because of who they are. With the movie being set in
California, Will Stronghold embarks on a journey through middle school without his powers. When
it had come to the choosing ceremony, he had not performed his power as he had not had any,
meaning he would have to become a sidekick. But after a violent incident in the cafeteria causes
Will to obtain his powers, he gets moved into becoming a hero class, where he abandons his

movie released. As one headline for a news article says "How Deadpool's Success Blew up
Hollywood Conventional Wisdom". Deadpool differs from genre expectations as it doesn't have the
typical dialogue you would expect to see in a superhero film, for example the director uses a lot of
inappropriate language which with any other superhero you would not hear. He also doesn't describe
himself as a superhero, this could be the reason why he uses such language, moreover Deadpool
says "I'm just a bad guy that gets paid to fuck up worse bad guys" from this it shows that he doesn't
possibly like what he does, he could be doing it for the money. We also know that he isn't the typical
superhero you would expect as he says "I may be super but I'm no hero" from this it shows that even

Playdoh: Superheroes Or Super Villains?
A super villain is defined as the antithesis of a superhero, and are generally embedded into a plot to
foil the actions of a superhero during the climax of a story. Superheroes possess powers that are
exceptional to any power or ability a human could normally achieve. Likewise, a supervillain must
dominate special powers, abilities and apparatus to pose a threat to superheroes. While the superhero
continuously tries to better society, the supervillain refutes their attempts in order to inflict
destruction and dismay. Typically, their motives are derived from traumatic incidents that occurred
in the early onset of their lives (Gullo 2016). Albeit for some, no traumatic past or bad accidents
were inflicted on the lives of these villainous creatures, as their motive comes from passion,
experience, and a drive for chaos. It was hard for most to understand why Playdoh had become so
vile and gruesome. From a small town in Soviet Russia, he always held somber thoughts and
obscure motives to wreak havoc and mayhem across the town. Playdoh envisioned himself as

The Incredibles
After watching The Incredibles, I noticed how neatly it juxtaposed with other superhero films. It
interesting manages to turn the expected norm of an American family into a team of superheroes.
The film seemed to have a serious tone that was carefully designed in a way that both children and
adults could both enjoy. If you look at the movie from an adult perspective it comes off as a guy
suffering from a midlife crisis and how he manages to escape from his boring reality to a place
where he can once again enjoy himself. All while doing this the directors managed to add childish
humor and fun animations for children to enjoy. This type of tone completely contrasts that of
Guardians of the Galaxy, which came off as a lighter hearted, fun movie with lots of humor. The

Beowulf vs Grendel Essay
The roles that Beowulf and Grendel played in the story were very easily
deciphered. Beowulf being pure good, and Grendel being pure evil. One of the reasons of
why the book "Beowulf" is so well known is because of the fact that it is one of the first
stories of good vs. evil, or light vs. dark. In modern good and evil stories, there are super
heroes with super powers. They use these powers for the good of the world and to help
innocent people. In most cases there is a villain that oppose these super hero's. They
usually have powers as well but they use it for evil and wrongdoing. They usually face

He has been chosen to protect the world from evil. When this story was made,
the author intended for it to be clear that Beowulf is supposed to be the hero of the story.
Grendel was the character that played the "villain" in the book. He killed innocent
people for only the reason of that they were having a good time, and he wasn't. He is
pure evil and kills countless people for pretty much the fun of it. He was said to be able to
pick up thirty men at a time. So no normal human could match his strength. In the book
it's very easy to understand that Grendel is pure evil. He is called "The Captain of evil".
It doesn't get anymore obvious then that. Grendel is shown as a monster that cannot be
stopped. He's a powerful force that can run through anyone and everything. But not the
Super Hero. He could never match the power of pure good. So when Grendel fought
Beowulf, Beowulf tricked him in thinking he was asleep and as soon as Grendel got near
him, Beowulf grabbed him. Once Grendel was grabbed by Beowulf, he immediately
knew that he was up against a man like non other. He franticly tried to escape and run
away. But the power of the hero and the good that ran through his veins was able to rip
the arm from the evil beast. Then Grendel ran away and bled to death. It was made very
clearly that Grendel was supposed to be the evil

Beowulf Is The Hero Of All Heroes
I 'm writing about ancient heroes and whether or not they can be heroes at the present day time.im
going to tell you about their pros as in good things about them and their cons as in bad things. I will
also choose one modern day hero to come pare my ancient hero to and tell you where he from either
a movie or a comic book.
Beowulf is my ancient hero. I chose Beowulf because of all the qualities he has. "Beowulf is the
hero of all heroes'" he is strong, and courageous. He would risk his own life to save other people life
's. He never back down to any person or thing and has never run any from a fight. He throws his self
at danger to try to get rid of evil and look for people to help. In this day of age, I don 't think he
would be a good hero for a few reasons. Reason number one I think he is really too arrogant to
throw his self at ever one problem thinking he is going to fix it. I personally think a hero should be
asking them if they want your help before they make it worst. Or they can wait till they see someone
in danger then throw yourself in the middle. Reason two I think he 's arrogant will be the death of
him because he think so mighty of his self. He will think he is unstoppable and that 's where his
demise will come from. Reason three he not that smart he more like a jock most heroes ' are usually
smart and clever Beowulf isn 't if he meant an evenly match villain he cloud loss fairly easy from
how choices he make . Reason four is the way he dresses. The

A trauma from a childhood experience will definitely affects a child as they mature into adulthood.
Prime examples of this argument could be superheroes. Spider–Man was affected as a child because

was the closest father figure he had, was murdered. While conducting further research, I discovered
that while Peter Parker was talking to a young boy who had been molested by an older man, Spider–

  • 1. The Best Villain Research Paper Prompt Rubric | Checklist The Best Villain Many stories feature a hero who behaves honorably and fights for good. These same stories often include a villain who behaves selfishly and stands at odds with the hero. In your opinion, who is the best villain from a movie or piece of literature? Think about what traits make him or her a good villain, and how he or she contrasts the hero. Write an essay that describes your favorite villain. Be sure to include details about the villain's characteristics, and compare those traits to the hero's characteristics. As you write, remember your essay will be scored based on how well you: develop a multi–paragraph response to the assigned topic that clearly communicates your controlling idea to the audience. support your controlling idea with meaningful examples, information, and references from the text. cite direct quotes ... He is incredibly smart, evil, out of touch with reality, and that's what shapes him into one of the best villains. His orginin is unknown, even his name is unknown, but his intentions aren't. He wants to cause chaos and hurt to everyone he can, whuch for the most part is Gotham city. He is my favorite character because of his battle with Batman and the way he intends to frustrate Batman. The Joker has many unsettling characteristics about him. Such as his impulsivity, lack of remorse, and insanity. He is extremely out of touch with reality, after an accident in his early life, he totally lost his mind. He has no sense if reality, or remorse, making him a great fit for a supervillain. He had no clear reason to why he wants to cause chaos, no issues with anyone in Gotham, no grudge against anyone, he simply does it for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They give the show, movie etc. a plot and a point for it to be done. Without the villains, everything would be different and a lot more boring. One super famous villain is the Green Goblin which came out in Spider–man movies and comics. Another great villain is Darth Vader which comes out in the Star Wars movies and games. Also, Ganondorf is one of the most famous and memorable video game villains. One tremendously famous villain comes from comics and from the movie Spiderman. The villain is known as Green Goblin. Darth Vader is the main Villain in the Star Wars universe. Before becoming "Darth Vader" he was Anakin Skywalker. Anakin is considered to be the most powerful jedi to exist. The main thing that made Darth Vader a villain in the Star Wars Realm, is that, despite being the strongest Jedi, all other Jedi refused to make him a master. This makes him mad and leads him to believe that all Jedi are jealous of his power and they are purposely holding him back. He then becomes the apprentice of Palpatine after saving him from Windu, another Jedi. Then, Palpatine issued Order 66 which causes the Clone Troopers to demolish the Jedi. Darth Vader, after he follows Palpatine's orders, killed the younglings at the Jedi temple. "More than 100 Jedi survived Order 66, and Darth Vader made it his mission to destroy them all." (Hill 1) This is the main goal of Darth Vader. He wants to destroy every Jedi there is. He is successful in his purge with only a few Jedi that remained including Yoda and Obi–Wan Kenobi. After this, Vader prepares everyone for the fall of The Republic and Rise of Palpatine's empire. Vader was not defeated but instead has a change in heart. His son, Luke Skywalker, destroys the Death Star. Vader tortures him but instead of watching his own son die and suffer, he stops and throws out Palpatine and his empire with the help of the ... • 5. The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn By William Twain 1. Twain must have thought Huck carried on his ideas best, and Huck is character that is quite dynamic throughout the story because everyone heavily influences him until he decides to take control of his own life. 2. The first act would be like an introduction to Huck's life and how he lives with the widow because of his rough life. The next act would be his escape with Jim and starting his path up the river like his call to action. Huck's "I'll go to hell moment," should be act three because that is the moment the audience sees him no longer on the fence about everything. The fourth act would be the plan to help Jim escape because freedom is so close yet so far. Obviously the last act will involve catching up with the characters and providing closure for most. 3. The first one would be Huck abusive father because he seems to be the only one who can truly hold back. Jim is running away from slavery and needs to get his family back too. The Wilks sisters need to find their voice and independence. Huck also needs to find himself and not bend to others will. The main ones are solved. Huck's father dies. Jim finds his freedom. The Wilks sisters stop the king and the dauphin. Huck presumably figures part of his life out and then the book is left in the open. The bigger scale problems of society approving of slavery is defiantly not resolved nor in the present day. Human trafficking exists. Tom Sawyer's stupidity is also incurable. 4.Each setting within itself brought a new ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Why Do Supervillains Fascinate Human Nature? Evil. Why is human nature so attracted to it? Is it because humans have unusual physical drives? Is it that humans are naturally sadistic? When we are kids, we are taught the difference between good and evil. As kids, we tend to want to be the good guys and wan to fight the bad guys. But as we mature and grow older those thoughts and feelings change and we are driven to want to be, the bad guys. The waterfall of pleasure and adrenaline rush through our veins and we are drawn to our very nature of feeling gratification. From a psychological perspective, one of the many reason why evil fascinates human nature is because of shadow confrontation. According to the article, "Why Do Supervillains Fascinate us? A Psychological Perspective," by Travis ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In most cases, Criminologists assume that all individuals portray these types of behaviors to get money, seek revenge, break the law, get drugs, hurt or kill someone. Yet, can all crimes and villains be the same? "Each crime and villain has its own distinctive appeals, at once thrilling to its participants, and yet thrilling in different ways and for different reasons" (Turk, 7). To understand the villain and the crime we must look at the, "action itself and the actor's experience to it" (Turk, 7). For example, Ted Bundy, an infamous serial killer, in an interview with psychologist James Dobson, Bundy revealed how, "his addiction for hard–core pornography fueled his terrible crimes" (pureintimacy.org). Bundy committed the actions of, "serial killer, kidnapper, rapist, burglar, and necrophilia who assaulted and murdered numerous young women and girls" (pureintimacy.org). The experience Bundy had to his actions started when he was around 12 or 13 years old, when he found a "dirty magazine" and from there his addiction to porn started. As the porn got more violent, Bundy's hunger for his fantasy got bigger, until his fantasy became a reality. Bundy stated that his crimes were fueled by porn, but alcohol was also a factor. Bundy claims that he came from a loving Christian family and that after he committed his crimes he became a "normal person." If people saw him on the streets he would be just an average guy on the streets, no one could ever imagine his true identity underneath. Bundy blames violent porn and alcohol but also declares that he is fully responsible for his actions. Though, Bundy's explanation for his crimes can be heard, can we fully understand his motives? No matter how many times a villain tries to explain their crime, a person who them selves did ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. The Superhero Of Superhero Movies Superhero movies have been on the rise lately. These movies are often looked at as entertainment for people who play Dungeons and Dragons and are simply mindless pleasure; however, this is not the case. The reason behind the popularity of superhero movies is more than just the want of the common comic book reader. The superhero movie industry has made a sharp incline in popularity; in fact there are more superhero movies now than ever before. A website called Fights, Tights and Movie Nights listed all of the superhero movies made since the 1980's by year and these were their findings. In the 1980's an average of three to four super movies came out a year. In the 1990's these movies were made on average five to six times per year. In the 2000's the movies doubled to 12–13 produced on average each year. Today, 2010's, the average number of superhero movies has again doubled in size with it now resting at twenty–two to twenty–three superhero movies made on average each year. The drastic increase of the number of superhero movies leaves the average movie attendee wondering why they are seeing this spike of superhero movies. The increase of superhero movies can be contributed to a few key factors: the advances of technology in the movie industry, the movie genre's adaption to be socially relevant, and the characters now possessing more humanistic qualities (Fights...). When asking most people why they think superhero movies have made such surges in popularity over the last ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In this dystopian post apocalyptic world the man and boy or fighting to stay alive while keeping their humanity as well as searching for what humanity is left in this kill or be killed cannibalistic planet. As their time journeying down the road increases so do the dangers and obstacles they face to survive. The more they overcome the more hope thrives in them showing that in even in the most catastrophic events having hope helps them get closer to finding the light at the end of the tunnel and not being consumed by the darkness. In this new world it is no longer a matter of just surviving, but keeping your humanity while surviving. While it is easier to resort to evil and be the bad guy, the father and son fight to keep what humanity they have left to be the good guys, which in this post–apocalyptic world almost costs them their lives at times. • 19. Compare And Contrast Playdoh And The Joker Supervillain Compare & Contrast Essay Super Villains, with powers or not, are remarkably popular considering that they are such unfavorable people. Fictional villains are generally defined as evil, and it is questioned whether this indication leaves for reason to believe that being evil is popular. These characters come in various shapes and sizes, albeit they habitually have similar schemes. Villains dominate a penchant to act upon impulses triggered by greed or a lust for revenge against the protagonist, one that has usually been derived from severed relationships in the past. Although villains may share similar backgrounds and experiences, Playdoh and The Joker have several contrasting features including setting, characterization, abilities, and motives. The abilities that Playdoh restrains in comparison to those of The Joker allow for him to be classified as a higher rank of superhuman, as his skills are considered to be more abnormal in regards to a human's natural endurance. The Joker, consequently, is ordained to be more of a villain than Playdoh, as his practices are more villainous and disastrous in opposition to Playdoh. While one character upholds the position as a villain, the other carries perplexed qualities of superpowers over the alternative. • 21. The Difference Between Heroes And Villains Alsford, Mike. Heroes And Villains. Waco: Baylor UP, 2006. Print. " The very heart of the notion of the villain is a refusal to submit to the social contract" (106). The book distinguishes the difference between heroes and villains and what separates them from each other. Heroes and villains are both gifted with powers that they have received either from a spider bite or they are born with it or the possibility that they are from another planet, in other words "Aliens". Heroes believe that they have received/born with super powers to help and save the innocent. While on the other side, villains believe they have superpowers to help them change the world they live in and make it their own. Societies impose rules and laws and expect all members of the society to obey those rules, but that's not the case with villains. Super villains believe that rules and laws don't apply to them because they are superior, strong and have abilities that ordinary people don't have. Villain's aspiration is to live in a world that is made from his or her own set of rules. Super villains have ambitions just like anyone else but most people believe what super villains are admiring and trying to accomplish wrong while the villains believe its right in their mind. ... • 35. Factors That Make People Become A Supervillain I have always thought of superheroes as beings with an unattainable, unnatural level of perfection. They were, to me at least, those who were faster than a speeding bullet and more powerful than a locomotive. There is, however, more to superheroes (and by association, supervillains) than that. I've found there are several factors that make someone become a superhero or a supervillain. The world needs saving, and knowing what it takes to become a superhero or a supervillain, makes it easier to support the former and avoid the latter. It's important to acknowledge that as humans, we are prone to divide the world into an "us" versus "them" situation. The "them" category is seen as the one with more negative, undesirable attributes. For instance vampires, demons, evil Gods, they're all viewed as "them"; they're different so they're the bad guys. Whenever one feels noticeably different, it leads them to think of themselves as part of the "them" category. For someone really smart, for example, growing up with children not as smart or gifted in a particular way, they will feel different. Individuals relentlessly pursue these ideals to achieve a perceived perfection. These principles are often depicted in media that further glorifies and establishes a desire to pursue these paragons. In a medium such as comic books, however, these standards and perceptions are heavily distorted by the characterizations and settings. Particularly, the superhero genre absorbs the ideals we strive towards and regurgitates them in an extreme and unrealistic manner. The superhero genre is often reflective of societal changes in ideas and morals. These ideals are then molded into misleading representations that influence the behaviors of viewers. The superhero genre, despite presenting the metamorphosis of our enemy, misrepresents our enemy and influences people's perceptions of the enemy. Furthermore, the superhero genre heavily endorses the concept of sexism in its stories. Women are misrepresented as feeble and weak without the aid of men. They are often simply characterized as sex objects that are grotesquely unrealistic and disproportionate compared to the average woman. " Women must either be unrecognizably masculine or unfaithful nymphomaniacs... they must be eroticized and mercilessly beaten" (Siddiqui). Comic books make every effort to cater to the male audience by providing sexualized females who wear skimpy outfits and show lots of cleavage. It has become the staple of the superhero genre to show extremely skinny, very busty female figures. Rather than focusing on inherent qualities of intelligence, determination, and tenacity, comic book writers focus on presenting so–called attractive women. However, these depictions have a stringent impact on the women viewership and the young girls who are surrounded by such ideas. These people begin feeling worthless in comparison to the superior men who seem to always save the day. Wreck–it–Ralph is a game where Ralph is designed as a muscular freak with only one purpose in his life, to destroy and damage a high–rise apartment in the game, that is until Fix–it–Felix comes in and saves the day. A super villain is defined as the antithesis of a superhero, and are generally embedded into a plot to foil the actions of a superhero during the climax of a story. Superheroes possess powers that are exceptional to any power or ability a human could normally achieve. Likewise, a supervillain must dominate special powers, abilities and apparatus to pose a threat to superheroes. While the superhero continuously tries to better society, the supervillain refutes their attempts in order to inflict destruction and dismay. Typically, their motives are derived from traumatic incidents that occurred in the early onset of their lives (Gullo 2016). Albeit for some, no traumatic past or bad accidents were inflicted on the lives of these villainous creatures, as their motive comes from passion, experience, and a drive for chaos. • 62. Beowulf vs Grendel Essay The roles that Beowulf and Grendel played in the story were very easily deciphered. Beowulf being pure good, and Grendel being pure evil. One of the reasons of why the book "Beowulf" is so well known is because of the fact that it is one of the first stories of good vs. evil, or light vs. dark. In modern good and evil stories, there are super heroes with super powers. They use these powers for the good of the world and to help innocent people. In most cases there is a villain that oppose these super hero's. They usually have powers as well but they use it for evil and wrongdoing. They usually face off and most of the time, the super hero wins over the villain. But none of these stories would have been here ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He has been chosen to protect the world from evil. When this story was made, the author intended for it to be clear that Beowulf is supposed to be the hero of the story. Grendel was the character that played the "villain" in the book. He killed innocent people for only the reason of that they were having a good time, and he wasn't. He is pure evil and kills countless people for pretty much the fun of it. He was said to be able to pick up thirty men at a time. So no normal human could match his strength. In the book it's very easy to understand that Grendel is pure evil. He is called "The Captain of evil". It doesn't get anymore obvious then that. Grendel is shown as a monster that cannot be stopped. He's a powerful force that can run through anyone and everything. But not the

  • 65. Beowulf Is The Hero Of All Heroes I 'm writing about ancient heroes and whether or not they can be heroes at the present day time.im going to tell you about their pros as in good things about them and their cons as in bad things. I will also choose one modern day hero to come pare my ancient hero to and tell you where he from either a movie or a comic book. Beowulf is my ancient hero. I chose Beowulf because of all the qualities he has. "Beowulf is the hero of all heroes'" he is strong, and courageous. He would risk his own life to save other people life 's. He never back down to any person or thing and has never run any from a fight. He throws his self at danger to try to get rid of evil and look for people to help. In this day of age, I don 't think he would be a good hero for a few reasons. Reason number one I think he is really too arrogant to throw his self at ever one problem thinking he is going to fix it. I personally think a hero should be asking them if they want your help before they make it worst. Or they can wait till they see someone in danger then throw yourself in the middle. Reason two I think he 's arrogant will be the death of him because he think so mighty of his self. He will think he is unstoppable and that 's where his demise will come from. Reason three he not that smart he more like a jock most heroes ' are usually smart and clever Beowulf isn 't if he meant an evenly match villain he cloud loss fairly easy from how choices he make . Reason four is the way he dresses. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 67. Batman Vs. Superm Dawn Of Justice It's hard to explain what goes on in the minds of supervillains. In the case of Lex Luthor in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, the character decided it was a good idea to create Doomsday in case Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader doesn't succeed in defeating Henry Cavill's Man of Steel. But what pushed Lex to experiment on a Kryptonian corpse? Jesse Eisenberg might have the answer! In an interview with IGN, Eisenberg explained how the DC supervillain probably wasn't THAT crazy in the beginning of BvS, but eventually got more psychotic as the film progressed. "I think Lex becomes increasingly unhinged throughout the movie," Eisenberg shared before adding that the villain was very much prepared in case the Dark Knight doesn't succeed in taking out ... • 69. Childhood Trauma Research Paper A trauma from a childhood experience will definitely affects a child as they mature into adulthood. Prime examples of this argument could be superheroes. Spider–Man was affected as a child because he lost both of his parents at young age. When Peter Parker was in high school, his Uncle Ben, who was the closest father figure he had, was murdered. While conducting further research, I discovered that while Peter Parker was talking to a young boy who had been molested by an older man, Spider– Man revealed that the same thing happened to him. A boy getting molested at a young age will surely cause some kind of trauma because no one could ever forget a horrendous act such as that. That was Peter Parker's motive to become Spider–man and combat crime ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Typically there are five stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. When a close loved one is violently murdered, this is one of the most severe obstacles that someone can face. This can quickly lead to the second stage of grief which is anger. In comics, this can lead to someone becoming a superhero or supervillain, but in real life, emotions can get the best of a person and this can lead to a person doing something out of anger such as murdering someone else in retaliation of their loved one's murder. There are various ways people can deal with grief in real life and the most common ways is to talk to someone such as friends or family because keeping all of those emotions bottled up can cause a person to have a ... Me embracing one of mankind's most dangerous, prolific and effective enemies, one that plagued humanity for centuries: Anxiety. I would the power to at will induce extreme amounts of anxiety onto anybody in my line of sight. Imagine this; say I was at a bank making a deposit. The bank is only partially full, a good 30 people stand around in lines waiting for their turn to talk to the tellers. When suddenly, the loud sound of glass shattering rings out!
