Case Brief Of Sony Computer Entertainment America V Bleem
Case Brief of Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc., v. Bleem, LLC et al. (2000)
Case Citation
Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc., v. Bleem, LLC, David Herpol Sheimer, and James
Felix, 214 F.3d 1022 (9th Cir. 2000)
Facts
The appellant is a manufacturer of console games in the form of game disks and Sony Play Station.
To play the console games, one has to load a game disk into a console or play station which has a
connection to the television of the user. On the other hand, to play the PC games, one loads a game
disk into the CD drive contained in a personal computer. However, Sony has engineered its play
station game disks in such a way that it is not possible to play them on the Personal computer but
only on a TV. With a lucrative and enormous market for video games, Sony inc. has managed to be
the market leader with this unique technology (Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc., v.
Bleem, LLC et al. (2000)).
Despite this, the defendants managed to develop a product named a "software emulator" which
makes it possible for one to interchange the PC games and the TV console games. Hence, once one
has bought the software emulator from Bleem, they can easily use their personal computer to play a
Sony PlayStation. Thus, as a result of this, one who wishes to play or enjoy the Sony games need
not purchase a PlayStation console from Sony. Further, with the software emulator, one enjoys
games with a higher quality picture resolution because a PC has the capability of

Software Engineering for Mobile Application Development: Challenges and Research In the recent
years we have seen rapid growth of applications of mobile devices popularly known as "APPS".
Recent surveys show that there are enormous numbers of mobile application developers. Although
there is a growing trend of these mobile applications, very few make it to the top charts of the
devices thereby pushing the application developers to provide with high quality, and useful
applications. Software engineering comes in to picture here, thereby leading the development of the
application through different life cycle phases for good quality output. This paper presents the
different challenges faced by the developers such as (a) building good user interfaces(b) support for
multiplatform (c) dealing with uncertainities. (d) change according to the environment. For each of
the above stated challenges we provide the current trends and advances done, along with the
challenges that are faced in developing the application and also the future risks and availabilities for
developing the project.
1. Introduction
Mobile application development started long time ago, around ten years back. But although the
development of mobile applications was done long ago, their popularity has increased since the
apple store by iphone has been developed in 2008. Ever since the marketers have spread the apps

Abstract– As the ipv4 addresses are being exhausted, the globe is adopting ipv6 protocol in place of
the ipv4 protocol. Also the number of YouTube users in android and iOS are increasing day–by–day.
Under this scenario, the operator is concerned about the influence of both IP versions on the popular
video streaming website YouTube in android as well as in iOS environments to provide better video
streaming experience for the YouTube users. In this paper we emulated the android and iOS
environments in windows platform. The emulators are connected to the Internet using both the
Internet protocol versions and then the streaming parameters which give the performance of
YouTube are calculated. The values of these parameters describe the impact of both IP versions.

Selecting One Uml Tool Of Your Choice
Individual Project
Option 3. Introduce one UML tool of your choice. List its important features and then show its
advantages and disadvantages compared with other tools.
The UML tool which I choose is NetBeans.
NetBeans is a unified modelling language and a software development platform which is written in
Java. In NetBeans platform we use 'modules', a set of modular software components to develop the
applications. NetBeans is used in an integrated development environment i.e. IDE in which
applications based on NetBeans can be extended. The main Programming language used in
NetBeans is java, but it also supports some other languages like C, PHP and HTML. NetBeans is an

With the help of java editors present in NetBeans IDE we can introduce an extensive and wide range
of templates and samples.
The NetBeans Editor indents lines, matches words and brackets, and highlights source code
syntactically and semantically.
The NetBeans IDE 's Java Editor helps us quickly complete and generate code through its "smart"
code completion feature.
The editor used in NetBeans Supports many programming languages like Java, C/C++, XML and
HTML, to PHP, Groovy, Javadoc, JavaScript and JSP this is due to the extensible future of editor.
Hence you can plug in support for many other programming languages.
NetBeans can be reverse engineered to java with the help of jvm machine.
Project Management can be maintained easily and efficiently with the help of NetBeans IDE.
NetBeans IDE provides different views of our data, from multiple project windows to helpful tools
for setting up our applications and managing them efficiently.
Another important feature of NetBeans is rapid user interface development. With the help of this
feature we can design graphical user interface (GUIs) for Java SE, HTML5, Java EE, PHP, C/C++
applications quickly and effectively by using editors and drag–and–drop tools in the IDE.
NetBeans IDE support application signing utility. With the help of this feature we this application

Platforms And Interfaces Essay
A player's personal experience of transforming platforms and interfaces: from Game Boy to personal
computers
Introduction
Accept it or not, video games and "gaming" are a large part of Australian culture. The average
Australian 21–year–old would have spent over 10,000 hours playing games (that's how long it takes
to complete school from year 5 to year 12). For immeasurable reasons such as involvement,
freedom, entertainment and story–telling are games such a powerful medium of creative and
interactive media7.
Due to my own personal experience with games and their distinct platforms and interfaces, this
essay will provide a comparative view of two gaming platforms; a hand–held Game Boy Advance
(GBA) and a personal computer (PC). The GBA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The GBA was made particularly popular amongst gaming communities by games such as Zelda and
Pokémon. Coloured games were pleasant to look at and the interface overall is easy to use; a D–pad,
A & B buttons and triggers. This is partly as to why it was so popular among younger age group
fans. The hand–held console used small ROM cartridges, and the console came in a variety of
colours and shared compatibility with other Nintendo consoles at the time (GameCube & Game boy
colour). Wireless adaptors were one of the biggest innovations to effect GBA users. For the first
time games like Pokémon let players interact by battling and trading. The initial sense was that the
game is bigger than yourself and the screen you're looking at, the once single player experience can
now be shared with other friends (which I remember was a huge deal). Due to these circumstances,
the GBA created a strong following and as of June 2010, 81.51 million units were sold including 16
million copies of one of their most popular bestselling games; Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire3.
Buying a PC is not cheap and can be quite expensive, which is why naturally you'd only spend the
money if gaming was one of your biggest hobbies. There are companies that will assemble prebuilt
gaming computers, and establishments that retail mice, keyboards and headsets aimed toward
gamers. PC

Modern Society Is Unethical Using The Emulation Theory
Aristotle argues that the pattern of status competition in American society is unethical using the
emulation theory. According to Aristotle, humans are the most imitative of all creatures and status
competition is a cycle of mutual emulation. Emulation is a pain which is caused by the presence of
good things that are highly valued. How emulation works is that there is the person who is doing the
emulation, the individual who is being emulated, and then relationship between the two. The second
individual provides a model for the first individual, who then decides they are similar to the model.
Humans do not emulate individuals who have something that is deemed undesirable, the idea is "let
them have it, I don 't want it." Because the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Joneses are actually salesmen pretending to be a "normal" family while those around them
crave the items they are "selling" and eventually putting themselves in a serious economic/emotional
crisis. This is an example of what Aristotle means when he says emulation brings pain, because one
of the characters, Frank, ends up committing suicide because he gave into status competition. He did
not care about his wife 's business, or the simple fact that he had bills and a mortgage to pay. Instead
he kept buying things, much like the Baby Boomers, and worked his way into a debt that he could
not get out of because he cared too much about his reputation and how popular he wanted to seem to
his friends. The emulators, in the movie, are the individuals who set out to buy the items the family
was selling. Aristotle also stated that some people are only concerned with keeping up with their
neighbors, copying their every move. It becomes a life obsession, and that was the main idea of the
movie. Aristotle believes in order to follow the mean and be rational, one must avoid excess or
deficiency by asking themselves if they 're emulating at the right times and places? Do you actually
need to consume? Are you consuming the right amount of goods? How will my emulating affect
myself or those around me? Aristotle reaches several conclusions on virtue and describes it as a state
of character, and what it means for a human to be virtuous. For example, "the 'excellence ' of the eye

Advertisement Analysis : Slicing The Prices
Slicing the Prices In a recent issue of Men's health magazine, Gillette has posted an appealing
advertisement. The advertisement Gillette has posted is for their price change in razors. The
advertisement is a straightforward design with three razors on the left–hand side of the page, large
text saying, "Get the shave you love for our lowest prices in years" on the top, and finally the
company name on the right. The advertisement does not give a specific price. The promises of an
insubstantial value in addition to the light humor makes this an effective advertisement that will
remain in the subconscious of future consumers. As most readers of a magazine normally disregard
the advertisements displayed, companies must find ways to convey ... Show more content on

After reading the bottom paragraph, the advertisement communicates "we'd prefer to tell you
exactly how much" meaning Gillette could not provide the value of the product as the prices are
dependent on location and market. A type of claim used by Gillette in this advertisement is an empty
or unfinished claim. An example of an unfinished claim is "the best a man can get". The core
audience of Men's health magazine is adult men, likely in college or above. The magazine provides
information about health, fitness and men's fashion. The audience of this magazine are likely
belongers, and emulators. The target audience of this advertisement is known as sustainers,
Belongers, and loosely the emulators. The sustainers have little disposable currency. They are
known to impiously purchase cheaper products to save as much money as possible. They are likely
to be a candidate to purchase the product because of the advertisement stating, "lowest prices in

Walmart is one of the world's largest markets which makes their customer base a likely target. A
better candidate of this advertisement would be the belongers. Belongers are usually from the
middle class who has more income to spend than the sustainers. Like the sustainer, they are likely

Management Plan For A Company Essay
Currently, ECA has reduced the IT staff due to an overall corporate restructuring. With a reduction
in staff, Energy Corporation could use Rapid Application Development to build and deploy
applications quickly without the technical expertise needed for traditional programming and
development. If applications can be created with little effort and provide the business users and IT
staff with the capabilities to make changes with just as little effort, then Energy Corporation of
America can continue to keep a reduced size IT staff as well as reduced business user staff. The
applications being built could still provide value to the company without a long development time.
Energy Corporation of America would not need to hire new, experienced programmers that require
higher salaries, instead they could hire few employees and train them on the development
application software quickly and let them begin to use the software themselves. This in turn could
also help with some of the miscommunication between the IT department and the business user.
Better collaboration between IT and business users could be gained by adopting and utilizing a low–
code development platform. Application developers can quickly build and deploy applications to
allow for feedback for the business users. With quick feedback, changes can be made and functional
application can be redeployed.

A Short Note On Scsi Test Vehicle ( Stv )
Introduction
SCSI Test Vehicle (STV) is a project to develop an FCP Storage emulator using FICON Express
16G channel adapter present on System z machine. STV is a specialized Firmware (FW) load into a
channel adapter that provides the function of a FCP Target (Fibre channel SCSI Storage Control
Unit). STV emulates IBM shark disk storage.
This document is intended at describing the design and implementation of STV Emulation support
on Power Servers/Blades. The scope of this document is mainly limited to STV component in STV
Type FC channel firmware. This document contains information collected from other documents
and design discussions. STV Emulation support on Power Servers/Blades enables qualification/test
floor teams to use the STV Type channel firmware to test SCSI stream protocol capable devices not
just on system z but other servers such as zBX and zFX as well. Problem Statement
The Current STV based storage emulator requires a FICON express I/O Hardware and system z for
emulation. This is useful for testing in a System z environment but proves uneconomical in regular
zBX or zFX qualification. Moreover since STV uses the resources within the FICON express
module, which are limited. Emulation of Enhanced features such as multipath or increased LUNs is
not possible. This limits the test coverage of the test team. This project tries to work around some or
most of the limitations by moving STV emulation to a Power server.
Limitation of STV:

Home Router Essay
Abstract
Wireless home routers is the only barrier between a user's personal information and the internet.
Such a vital position in the user's network requires that the routers operate securely.
Unfortunately, recent research indicate that these devices have various security issues which expose
them to malware attacks. To address the growing concerns about the security of home routers, it is
important to perform dynamic analysis on home routers, even without accessing the actual
hardware. This paper looks at the importance of home router security, the need for dedicated
analysis tools through emulation and the process involved in emulating and profiling an ARM
architecture based home router.
We emulate an ARM router and test the behaviour of this router via an emulated client. This has
been done by using QEMU, an emulation tool, to virtualize the router. Upon development of the
emulated ARM router and client, we found the task more difficult than previously thought due to a
bug with the pcnet network interface card in qemu. We also performed analysis on the system calls
generated when traffic was passed through the MIPSLE architecture based router and arrived at the
conclusion that our environment is capable of detecting vulnerabilities in the security when the
router is exposed to malware.

Comparing Apple And Android : Apple Vs. Android
Apple vs. Android Over the past decade and a half technology has grown to be a normal, everyday
necessity for the average person. One of the main technologies used by people are smartphones, but
more importantly two main types of smartphones which are Apple and Android. There is great
controversy between the two on which is the better type of smartphone. However, in my personal
experience I feel that neither Apple nor Android have the upper hand, but are equal as smartphone
companies . Both of these companies products are user friendly, have great warranties, coverages,
features, and their products are equally entertaining for the customers. To begin with, an important
component for a smart phone is for the phone to be user friendly and easy to navigate through. With
Apple's smartphone product, the iPhone, the system is highly user friendly. The setup instructions
are simple and easy to learn. On the other hand Android's products are also easy to navigate through.
Android uses easy methods called "shortcuts" which allow the user to easily move through the
different apps. and are ultimately incomprehensible for a new customer. Apple's products also have
the latest technology and features such as fingerprint, face recognition, enhanced cameras, and the
voice recognition system "Siri". With Android smartphones they have many technological advances
as well, such as fingerprint, Galaxy/Google (their version of Siri), chrome cast, and other special
camera enhancing features. Not only that but with Apple you have "the cloud" which is in my
personal experience a great storing system. With the cloud you can instantly save any documents,
music, contacts, messages, pictures, etc.; and with these saved in the cloud you can download them
onto any other Apple device. On the other hand with Android smartphones you don't have this
feature, however , you can still use SD cards which can hold much more space the the cloud can.
The only drawback is that you may have to constantly restart and download all of the music,
pictures and things you had back on to your smartphone. To further explain, another important part
of a smartphone is having good warranties, coverages, and features for their products. Unlike

1) Which architecture type is the most common architecture for a local area network?
When setting up a LAN the architecture that you decide to choose is important. There are several
factors that are decided when choosing said architecture, some of these being network speeds, types
of cables, and access control mechanisms like collision detection (Team, 2011). The most common
on in today's LANs is Ethernet. These can be either wireless, wired, or a hybrid of both.
2) How does SSH differ from Telnet? How does HTTPS differ from HTTP?
Both of these are protocols used for a network, however the purpose for each is similar but different.

Layer 5?
The OSI Model is a model is used to define how data is theoretically passed on a network. Each
layer is responsible and has its own duties for a network. The name of layer 3 in the OSI is the
Network Layer. This layer is responsible for creating the paths for the transmission of data across
the network. This layer provides routing and switching capabilities, as well as, internetworking,
congestion control, and packet sequencing (Beal, 1999).
7) What is the OSI model and why is it important in understanding networking?
In the seven layers of the OSI, control is passed between layers. The model is theoretical, but tells us
how a network takes the data sent from the application all the way down to the physical layer and
out, to in the physical layer and back up all the way to the application layer. This Model has nothing
to do with the actual functions of the process. Instead it is a concept of the framework, so the
complexities of a network can be broken down and understood (Beal, 1999).
8) At which OSI model layer would you find a

Video Games Without Playing Stroke Essay
How to Play Old Videogames without Going Broke It is only natural to think back to simpler times,
depending on your generation that entails anything from a somewhat different type of life to
something completely unrecognizable today. For those who were born after the 1940's, it is very
likely that videogames where a form of entertainment to some degree. The games today can be too
overwhelming at times even for more recent generations, sometimes you just want to lay back and
play some Pong, or maybe Pacman for those who are millennials. But, where do you find your
childhood experiences? In many cases, retro games are collectors' items and retro consoles are as
well. Unless you are so devoted to your childhood that spending thousands of dollars is within
reason, and it likely isn't, then you may think you are out of luck. There is one way to get part of the
experience at a much cheaper cost. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The internet can be a beautiful place, start brainstorming a couple of games you used to play as a

It is important to remember that nostalgia is a powerful feeling, it was also felt by computer
engineers, programmers, web designers and so on. Most of the work was likely done for you, once
you find what you were looking for and that you are not the only one searching for a link to your
past you'll feel like you are a kid all over again. You may even find some games you completely
forgot about or never considered. At this point, your research needs to focus on what systems these
games operated on, if you were a gamer through several generations of consoles than you will likely
have a list. That is okay, as you will only need to use the same device for all of these

Girls and their hair; what can I say we just like are hair looking nice and healthy. So, we buy hair
products that can give us healthy looking hair. Some of us girls don't care what the price is; we just
want are hair healthy. With this being said I choose to analysis an ad that promotes aussie from
GLAMOUR March 2014. In the ad there are three young women. All of them have nice looking
health hair, and they look like your normal people you would see walking around town. All three
women are wearing two piece swimsuits in the ad. The models are showing a lot of skin, but not
really any cleavage. To top it off their really not wearing any make–up also and everyone hair is
down too. The background of the photo is just water, and it is in black and white too. The only color
in the ad is the products, the words, and the logo of aussie. Also the product is place around hip level
too. In the ad their saying that "You Don't Have to be a Saint to Perform Miracles" because there
product will perform the miracle you want to happen to your hair. Also they say it "The New 3
Minute Miracle Maker". I think the audiences for this ad in the VALS is "emulators". Emulators like
products that are popular or in with everyone. Why I say this is because they seem to be in the
middle clad who have a little spending money. So they buy products that everyone have/ use to be in

Benefits Of Legacy Application Mobility
Legacy Application Mobility, is the Answer Surprisingly Simple?
The significant benefits of mobility were highlighted in a recent Microsoft paper. The paper went
further than most, stating some quantifiable bottom line benefits for mobile application access;
claiming that mobility "leads to 30% improvement in processes and 23% more productivity – and
100% more satisfied employees". This enthusiasm and willingness to drive value for the business
outside of the typical work hours, or office location, can no longer be dismissed. So, what is
stopping organisations tapping into this extra productivity, and why are organisations that rely on
legacy applications, such as Mainframe, Unix, IBM i, Pick or even Multi–Value systems finding it ...

They have previously been physically guarded, so the idea of making them available on an
unregulated mobile device can be especially jarring. It's important to remember though, that
organisations who choose not to enable employee mobility are not immune to this risk. The latest
Forrester State of Enterprise Mobile Security report, by Chris Sherman points out that "employees
are going to continue to purchase and use whatever devices and apps they need to serve customers
and be highly productive, whether or not these devices are company–sanctioned". Whether you
embrace of shun mobility, your employees are likely to try and find their own mobile workaround.
Is this a barrier too high, or could there be a solution?
What there was a mobile app that would spontaneously give users a responsive, touch screen,
replica of the on premise applications they use to complete their day to day tasks? The app would
work on all devices and operating systems automatically, even those that haven't been released yet.
It would be as secure and performant as the in–house applications and you wouldn't have to develop
it at all. It would just work. That sounds wildly unrealistic and in some ways, it is. There is no app
that will do all of those things, apps by their nature are specifically developed for their destined OS;
but apps are not a requisite for mobility. They are often lumped together and assumed the same, but
there is an alternative route to mobility that allows you

The Role Of Celebrities And Youth Exist
The idea of having a role model is something society loves to champion. Kids should have role
models, and adults should strive to be worthy of such a duty. Kids that don't grow up with strong
role models and mentors are almost expected to fail; without footsteps to follow exactly, kids are
incapable of, or at least unlikely to, achieve anything worth of substance. In the same breath, people
advocating the importance of role models condemn the expansion of celebrity in today's society,
claiming that they influence youth poorly and don 't set a good example for younger generations.
But celebrities are the very people that young children are most likely to use as role models. So, how
and why does this relationship between celebrities and youth exist? The reality of the world we live
in is that kids love celebrities. The rich and famous are of a similar status of an older sibling's
friends: just out of reach, and untouchably cool. The mystique of celebrities is part of the allure, but
with the media ever expanding, kids are lured even further in by the more intimate details available
thanks to social media. Kids don't just love celebrities, celebrities love kids. That is, when the kids
are making the celebrities money. Whether donning their clothing line, buying their concert tickets,
or adding their shoes to Christmas lists, kids are a revenue stream for celebrities. The famed have no
problem with children when they are commodities, yet this situation is complicated when

Reading through the requirement of this paper there were several options to choose from. There are
several companies that offer integration to their customers such as SAP which is the leader in ERP
solutions, Oracle which came to the industry after acquiring PeopleSoft back in 2005, Microsoft,
and IBM. Reading the materials throughout this semester was interesting as it gave me an inside
view of system integration and it made me think of the architecture of how companies integrate their
system or the high level thought of how things are done when big companies acquire other
companies. Researching all these four big companies, I found that Oracle had a lot of products that
integrate systems and it seems they have a solution for a lot of major industry with pre–defined
modules that help jump start the integration process. Everyone knows oracle as it's a global
computer technology company. The company primary specializes in developing and marketing

Phasor Measurement Unit Essay
Large–scale smart grid initiatives require fast and accurate monitoring of power system network.
Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) is one of the major components which are increasingly deployed
in the power system network to provide the necessary infrastructure to cater smart grid
requirements. PMUs provide time synchronized measurement of voltage and current phasors
(Phadke and Thorp 2008) from different nodes of the power system network, which is used for
monitoring and control. NASPI (March 2015) and NERC (September 2016) suggest use of phasor
data from the PMUs to perform verification of dynamic models as well as validating parameters of
power plant models. A parameter identification toolbox for power system models developed using

The mismatch in PMU measurements and dynamic simulators lead to anomalous result for
application such as event location, oscillation detection, islanding detection, and dynamic line rating
as indicated in (Zhao et al. 2015). While PMUs can measure and time synchronize the output phasor
with great accuracy, the internal signal processing may utilize several cycles of the input signal
measurements to calculate each phasor values. Thus, even if the PMU report phasor each cycle, the
measurements is not representative of the current cycle but of a number of the preceding and
following cycles depending on the sliding window of data used for the phasor estimation. This
typically smooths out/filters faster changes that may be present in the simulation output, rendering
PMU output not comparable to simulated response for the same disturbance when fast changing
responses are present (applicable for a very small time constant parameters in the model of the
physical system). Phasor estimation can be performed in electromagnetic simulators in which point
of wave signal is available. Phasor estimation of a point of wave signal is applied in electromagnetic
simulator using enhanced DFT based algorithm in (Romano, Pignati, and Paolone 2015). A
mechanism for streaming simulated phasors from TSAT in C37.118 format is proposed in (Zheng,
Howell, and Wang 2015). However, these phasors do not reflect the PMU characteristics as

Managing Business Intelligence Applications Portfolio
I was the first one from my family to attend a college. After an undergraduate degree in electronics
and communication engineering, I thought I had achieved the education goal of my life. Soon I
entered the work place as a junior scientist in a privately held electronics materials research
company and I realized that management degree was the key to rise through ranks in a company. I
started preparation for entrance exams, left the job, went back to school and earned an MBA with
Finance as major. The management degree complemented my technical mindset and gave me a
whole new perspective to the business and the work. After a couple of years in Finance and
accounting job, I got big break at Oracle consulting as a software consultant. I spent next many
years focusing on learning application technology, understanding business processes, solving
business problems, and travelling the world. Currently I manage business intelligence applications

opportunities that were enabled by technology such as cloud computing, mobility and big data. Trust
me I had a déjà vu and my inner self called for immediate action to prepare myself to leverage such
opportunities for career growth and job satisfaction. I felt a strong need for formal computer science
education and started researching options. That's when I wished to earn a master's degree in

The Legal Aspects Of Emulations And Emulators
GAMES
Convenience of Emulators: (Sinh Ly)
The legal aspects of emulations and emulators are tied with its association with ROMs, as defined
by Nintendo as Read Only Memory, which are usually illegally ripped (2015). An emulator is a
software that attempts to replicate the functions of another platform, in this case, a gaming console
or portable system, to run the code and interpret data from plugins that can interpret signals from a
controller and used with the program (Newman, 2013). The creation of emulators themselves are
perfectly legal as an "act of investigation and analysis" (Newman, 2013). If these emulators were to
be used in conjunction with new devices, such as the Retrode, which allows for classic game
cartridges to be read via USB on an emulator installed onto a computer, then the act would be
deemed legal (Orland, 2013). However, as the Orland stated himself, "These ROMS are legal, even
though they're identical to illegal ones you could find elsewhere,"(2013) such thoughts leads to the
negative connotation of 'promoting piracy' that is associated with emulators when the gaming
industry thinks of them. According to Nintendo (2015) on their opinions towards emulation:
The introduction of emulators created to play illegally copied Nintendo software represents the
greatest threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers. As is the case
with any business or industry, when its products become available for free, the revenue stream

It can be seen that dhrystone scores and MIPS scores of the both Emulators are surpassing the
values provided for Motorola 68040 at 25 MHz by promotional literature of Motorola. Interestingly,
these emulations were conducted on ARM Cortex–A7, which is a low end processor. Low end here
specifically means that ARM Cortex–A7 has lower performance in terms of DMIPS/MHz compared
to performance of Freescale MPC8270 used in processor module of ABB AC 800M. This
instinctively implies that these emulations can be potentially considered for integrating legacy
applications built for ABB AC 450 using Motorola 68040 into modern ABB AC 800M based on a
high end processor MPC8270. These results are also significant because emulators were open source
under GPL licenses; this means that there was no extra cost involved for commercial licenses.

Dhrystone is especially designed to estimate integer performance of a processor based systems. A
particular dhrystone score mentions number of times a fundamental function of a dhrystone source
code is executed per second. Better this score is, the better is the performance of a processor. To
calculate time taken by a dhrystone fundamental function, dhrystone uses standard "times(2)"
function by default. However, "times(2)" provides time values in terms of processor clocks
consumed. To have this value in seconds dhrystone also requires specification of clock rate used by
a processor. Therefore, it is a convention to provide dhrystone score with a clock rate. However,
there is no need of specifying clock rate, if the time calculations are performed using standard
"time(NULL)" function. For emulators, time calculations are done using standard "time(NULL)"
function. Hence, in this report no clock rates are specified with dhrystone scores associated with

Sony Computer Entertainment Vs Connectix Corporation Summary
Sony Computer Entertainment v. Connectix Corporation
Sony Computer Entertainment v. Connectix Corporation, 203 F.3d 596 (2000), is a result of the
Ninth Circuit Court of applications which governed the replication of a copyrighted BIOS software
through the progress of an emulator software does not institute copyright violation but is protected
by reasonable usage.
The court also ruled that Sony's PlayStation symbol had not been tarnished by Connectix Crop's sale
of its emulator software, the Virtual Game Station.
Context of the case
Connectix begins the progress of the Virtual Game Station (VGS) in July 1998 as a Macintosh
software application that matches Sony's current Play Station video games console's hardware and
firmware.
This would make it likely for VGS operators to play games advanced for the play station on
Macintosh hardware, with strategies to announce a Windows PC well–matched variety at a future
day.
Connectix's development approach was constructed upon inverse engineering the play Station's
BIOS firmware, primary by means of the uncharged BIOS to progress imitation for the hardware,
and then by evolving a BIOS of their own using the unique firmware as an aid for fixing.
Throughout the progress work, Connectix communicated Sony, demanding "technical support" for
finishing the VGS, but this appeal was finally decayed in September 1998.
The Video Game Station growth touched conclusion in December 1998, with the software actuality

The Hardware Setup Of Dfig System Essay
Experimental Setup Introduction
This chapter explores the hardware setup of DFIG system. It also shows experimental results and the
performance of this system under different types of controllers. The experimental work is divided
into three parts. The first part is emulating the wind turbine characteristic using PMSM. The second
part is implementing the GSC connected to the grid and maintaining its DC–link voltage constant
under different disturbances. The final part is controlling the DFIG to extract power from the wind
emulator and transfer it to the utility grid. General Hardware Overview
The simulation results illustrated in the previous chapter is experimentally verified in this chapter.
To achieve this objective, a hardware wind turbine emulator is built in the laboratory and the DFIG
system control is implemented to extract power from the wind emulator. Figure 5.1 and Figure 5. 2
show an overview of the DFIG WECS setup. The system comprises the following: A wound–rotor
doubly–fed induction machine. The stator of this machine is connected to the electrical grid directly.
Rotor–side converter which is PWM three–phase converter connected to the machine rotor

A Formal Testing Strategy Is Crucial For Achieving Success...
A formal testing strategy is crucial for achieving success with mobile app testing. The information
above will definitely guide you in understanding the key focus points of this strategy, but here's a
closer look at the steps you should take. Narrow down the devices the app will use Mobile devices
present the most obvious challenge to mobile testing. There are countless devices out there
consumers could use to access your app and ensuring your app works on all of them can be difficult.
Even though your app might run on a single platform (such as iOS or Android), the number of
devices will still be high for guaranteeing specific device testing. This is especially the case with
Android operating systems. Remember that there are different versions of an operating system and
you should decide which operating system versions the app is supposed to work on. In order to
handle the device challenge, you can consider using one of the three strategies: Only test using real
devices Only test using emulated devices Using a combination of the above As we've mentioned
before, you want the emphasis to be on real devices and manual testing. It would be a good idea to
focus first on some of the main devices in your category. For example, find out the most sold and
used mobile devices that use Android, check which operating system version is currently popular
and begin testing. For the devices, which are not as popular, you can use emulated devices as the
main testing method.

Flexible single master operation (FSMO) Roles should be assigned to ensure the best recoverability
and operation of your Domain Controllers.
Some of the questions that should be asked when you are determining the FSMO roles and the
Global Catalogue (GC) placement are:
1. How many Domain Controllers are in your environment? If there is only one DC in your
environment (Not recommended) then all the roles will be on the same server and I would
recommend that there should be no more than 20 users. If you have more than 20 users you should
have at least two DCs. Two domain controllers are recommended for environments of up to 200
users. It is important to not have the Domain Naming Master on the same server as the RID Master

Domain–wide operations master roles
Every domain in the forest must have the following roles, relative ID (RID) master, primary domain
controller (PDC) emulator master, and Infrastructure master
These roles must be unique in each domain which means that each domain in the forest can have
only one RID master, PDC emulator master, and infrastructure master.
The RID master allocates sequences of relative IDs (RIDs) to each of the various domain controllers
in its domain. At any time, there can be only one domain controller acting as the RID master in each
domain in the forest.
Whenever a domain controller creates a user, group, or computer object, it assigns the object a
unique security ID (SID). The SID consists of a domain SID, which is the same for all SIDs created
in the domain, and a RID, which is unique for each SID created in the domain.
To move an object between domains (using Movetree.exe), you must initiate the move on the
domain controller acting as the RID master of the domain that currently contains the object.
The PDC emulator master processes password changes from client computers and replicates these
updates to all domain

In today's society, wealth and material goods are highly valued signs of status and success. Through ubiquitous advertising and social media, individuals who have accumulated wealth and luxury items are constantly put on display as models to be emulated. This drives others into painful emulation, wanting to attain the same signs of status for themselves. However, true wealth and

(2000) Case Citation Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc., v. Bleem, LLC, David Herpol Sheimer, and James Felix, 214 F.3d 1022 (9th Cir. 2000) Facts The appellant is a manufacturer of console games in the form of game disks and Sony Play Station. To play the console games, one has to load a game disk into a console or play station which has a connection to the television of the user. On the other hand, to play the PC games, one loads a game disk into the CD drive contained in a personal computer. However, Sony has engineered its play station game disks in such a way that it is not possible to play them on the Personal computer but only on a TV. With a lucrative and enormous market for video games, Sony inc. has managed to be the market leader with this unique technology (Sony Computer Entertainment America, Inc., v. Bleem, LLC et al. (2000)). Despite this, the defendants managed to develop a product named a "software emulator" which makes it possible for one to interchange the PC games and the TV console games. Hence, once one has bought the software emulator from Bleem, they can easily use their personal computer to play a Sony PlayStation. Thus, as a result of this, one who wishes to play or enjoy the Sony games need not purchase a PlayStation console from Sony. Further, with the software emulator, one enjoys games with a higher quality picture resolution because a PC has the capability of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Durham CSC6360: Mobile App Development 29 November 2016 Software Engineering for Mobile Application Development: Challenges and Research In the recent years we have seen rapid growth of applications of mobile devices popularly known as "APPS". Recent surveys show that there are enormous numbers of mobile application developers. Although there is a growing trend of these mobile applications, very few make it to the top charts of the devices thereby pushing the application developers to provide with high quality, and useful applications. Software engineering comes in to picture here, thereby leading the development of the application through different life cycle phases for good quality output. This paper presents the different challenges faced by the developers such as (a) building good user interfaces(b) support for multiplatform (c) dealing with uncertainities. (d) change according to the environment. For each of the above stated challenges we provide the current trends and advances done, along with the challenges that are faced in developing the application and also the future risks and availabilities for developing the project. 1. Introduction Mobile application development started long time ago, around ten years back. But although the development of mobile applications was done long ago, their popularity has increased since the apple store by iphone has been developed in 2008. Also the number of YouTube users in android and iOS are increasing day–by–day. Under this scenario, the operator is concerned about the influence of both IP versions on the popular video streaming website YouTube in android as well as in iOS environments to provide better video streaming experience for the YouTube users. In this paper we emulated the android and iOS environments in windows platform. The emulators are connected to the Internet using both the Internet protocol versions and then the streaming parameters which give the performance of YouTube are calculated. The values of these parameters describe the impact of both IP versions. Keywords– Keywords–Android; ipv4; ipv6; ipv6 tunnelling; iOS; YouTube performance; I. INTRODUCTION The number of hosts requesting the Internet connection are increasing drastically in the present times. In order to establish Internet connection to the requested host, the host needs to be identified uniquely on the network. • 9. Platforms And Interfaces Essay A player's personal experience of transforming platforms and interfaces: from Game Boy to personal computers Introduction Accept it or not, video games and "gaming" are a large part of Australian culture. The average Australian 21–year–old would have spent over 10,000 hours playing games (that's how long it takes to complete school from year 5 to year 12). For immeasurable reasons such as involvement, freedom, entertainment and story–telling are games such a powerful medium of creative and interactive media7. Due to my own personal experience with games and their distinct platforms and interfaces, this essay will provide a comparative view of two gaming platforms; a hand–held Game Boy Advance (GBA) and a personal computer (PC). The GBA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The GBA was made particularly popular amongst gaming communities by games such as Zelda and Pokémon. Coloured games were pleasant to look at and the interface overall is easy to use; a D–pad, A & B buttons and triggers. This is partly as to why it was so popular among younger age group fans. The hand–held console used small ROM cartridges, and the console came in a variety of colours and shared compatibility with other Nintendo consoles at the time (GameCube & Game boy colour). Wireless adaptors were one of the biggest innovations to effect GBA users. For the first time games like Pokémon let players interact by battling and trading. The initial sense was that the game is bigger than yourself and the screen you're looking at, the once single player experience can now be shared with other friends (which I remember was a huge deal). Due to these circumstances, the GBA created a strong following and as of June 2010, 81.51 million units were sold including 16 million copies of one of their most popular bestselling games; Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire3. Buying a PC is not cheap and can be quite expensive, which is why naturally you'd only spend the money if gaming was one of your biggest hobbies. There are companies that will assemble prebuilt gaming computers, and establishments that retail mice, keyboards and headsets aimed toward gamers. PC ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to Aristotle, humans are the most imitative of all creatures and status competition is a cycle of mutual emulation. Emulation is a pain which is caused by the presence of good things that are highly valued. How emulation works is that there is the person who is doing the emulation, the individual who is being emulated, and then relationship between the two. The second individual provides a model for the first individual, who then decides they are similar to the model. Humans do not emulate individuals who have something that is deemed undesirable, the idea is "let them have it, I don 't want it." Because the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Joneses are actually salesmen pretending to be a "normal" family while those around them crave the items they are "selling" and eventually putting themselves in a serious economic/emotional crisis. This is an example of what Aristotle means when he says emulation brings pain, because one of the characters, Frank, ends up committing suicide because he gave into status competition. He did not care about his wife 's business, or the simple fact that he had bills and a mortgage to pay. Instead he kept buying things, much like the Baby Boomers, and worked his way into a debt that he could not get out of because he cared too much about his reputation and how popular he wanted to seem to his friends. The emulators, in the movie, are the individuals who set out to buy the items the family was selling. Aristotle also stated that some people are only concerned with keeping up with their neighbors, copying their every move. It becomes a life obsession, and that was the main idea of the movie. Aristotle believes in order to follow the mean and be rational, one must avoid excess or deficiency by asking themselves if they 're emulating at the right times and places? Do you actually need to consume? Are you consuming the right amount of goods? How will my emulating affect myself or those around me? With a reduction in staff, Energy Corporation could use Rapid Application Development to build and deploy applications quickly without the technical expertise needed for traditional programming and development. If applications can be created with little effort and provide the business users and IT staff with the capabilities to make changes with just as little effort, then Energy Corporation of America can continue to keep a reduced size IT staff as well as reduced business user staff. The applications being built could still provide value to the company without a long development time. Energy Corporation of America would not need to hire new, experienced programmers that require higher salaries, instead they could hire few employees and train them on the development application software quickly and let them begin to use the software themselves. This in turn could also help with some of the miscommunication between the IT department and the business user. A Short Note On Scsi Test Vehicle ( Stv ) Introduction SCSI Test Vehicle (STV) is a project to develop an FCP Storage emulator using FICON Express 16G channel adapter present on System z machine. STV is a specialized Firmware (FW) load into a channel adapter that provides the function of a FCP Target (Fibre channel SCSI Storage Control Unit). STV emulates IBM shark disk storage. This document is intended at describing the design and implementation of STV Emulation support on Power Servers/Blades. The scope of this document is mainly limited to STV component in STV Type FC channel firmware. This document contains information collected from other documents and design discussions. STV Emulation support on Power Servers/Blades enables qualification/test floor teams to use the STV Type channel firmware to test SCSI stream protocol capable devices not just on system z but other servers such as zBX and zFX as well. Problem Statement The Current STV based storage emulator requires a FICON express I/O Hardware and system z for emulation. This is useful for testing in a System z environment but proves uneconomical in regular zBX or zFX qualification. Moreover since STV uses the resources within the FICON express module, which are limited. Emulation of Enhanced features such as multipath or increased LUNs is not possible. This limits the test coverage of the test team. This project tries to work around some or most of the limitations by moving STV emulation to a Power server. Such a vital position in the user's network requires that the routers operate securely. Unfortunately, recent research indicate that these devices have various security issues which expose them to malware attacks. To address the growing concerns about the security of home routers, it is important to perform dynamic analysis on home routers, even without accessing the actual hardware. This paper looks at the importance of home router security, the need for dedicated analysis tools through emulation and the process involved in emulating and profiling an ARM architecture based home router. We emulate an ARM router and test the behaviour of this router via an emulated client. This has been done by using QEMU, an emulation tool, to virtualize the router. Upon development of the emulated ARM router and client, we found the task more difficult than previously thought due to a bug with the pcnet network interface card in qemu. We also performed analysis on the system calls generated when traffic was passed through the MIPSLE architecture based router and arrived at the conclusion that our environment is capable of detecting vulnerabilities in the security when the router is exposed to malware. One of the main technologies used by people are smartphones, but more importantly two main types of smartphones which are Apple and Android. There is great controversy between the two on which is the better type of smartphone. However, in my personal experience I feel that neither Apple nor Android have the upper hand, but are equal as smartphone companies . Both of these companies products are user friendly, have great warranties, coverages, features, and their products are equally entertaining for the customers. To begin with, an important component for a smart phone is for the phone to be user friendly and easy to navigate through. With Apple's smartphone product, the iPhone, the system is highly user friendly. The setup instructions are simple and easy to learn. On the other hand Android's products are also easy to navigate through. Android uses easy methods called "shortcuts" which allow the user to easily move through the different apps. and are ultimately incomprehensible for a new customer. Apple's products also have the latest technology and features such as fingerprint, face recognition, enhanced cameras, and the voice recognition system "Siri". With Android smartphones they have many technological advances as well, such as fingerprint, Galaxy/Google (their version of Siri), chrome cast, and other special camera enhancing features. Not only that but with Apple you have "the cloud" which is in my personal experience a great storing system. With the cloud you can instantly save any documents, music, contacts, messages, pictures, etc.; and with these saved in the cloud you can download them onto any other Apple device. On the other hand with Android smartphones you don't have this feature, however , you can still use SD cards which can hold much more space the the cloud can. The only drawback is that you may have to constantly restart and download all of the music, pictures and things you had back on to your smartphone. To further explain, another important part of a smartphone is having good warranties, coverages, and features for their products. Unlike Android Apple ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Kids that don't grow up with strong role models and mentors are almost expected to fail; without footsteps to follow exactly, kids are incapable of, or at least unlikely to, achieve anything worth of substance. In the same breath, people advocating the importance of role models condemn the expansion of celebrity in today's society, claiming that they influence youth poorly and don 't set a good example for younger generations. Thus, even if the PMU report phasor each cycle, the measurements is not representative of the current cycle but of a number of the preceding and following cycles depending on the sliding window of data used for the phasor estimation. This typically smooths out/filters faster changes that may be present in the simulation output, rendering PMU output not comparable to simulated response for the same disturbance when fast changing responses are present (applicable for a very small time constant parameters in the model of the physical system). Phasor estimation can be performed in electromagnetic simulators in which point of wave signal is available. Phasor estimation of a point of wave signal is applied in electromagnetic simulator using enhanced DFT based algorithm in (Romano, Pignati, and Paolone 2015). A mechanism for streaming simulated phasors from TSAT in C37.118 format is proposed in (Zheng, Howell, and Wang 2015). However, these phasors do not reflect the PMU characteristics as ... The Legal Aspects Of Emulations And Emulators GAMES Convenience of Emulators: (Sinh Ly) The legal aspects of emulations and emulators are tied with its association with ROMs, as defined by Nintendo as Read Only Memory, which are usually illegally ripped (2015). An emulator is a software that attempts to replicate the functions of another platform, in this case, a gaming console or portable system, to run the code and interpret data from plugins that can interpret signals from a controller and used with the program (Newman, 2013). The creation of emulators themselves are perfectly legal as an "act of investigation and analysis" (Newman, 2013). If these emulators were to be used in conjunction with new devices, such as the Retrode, which allows for classic game cartridges to be read via USB on an emulator installed onto a computer, then the act would be deemed legal (Orland, 2013). However, as the Orland stated himself, "These ROMS are legal, even though they're identical to illegal ones you could find elsewhere,"(2013) such thoughts leads to the negative connotation of 'promoting piracy' that is associated with emulators when the gaming industry thinks of them. According to Nintendo (2015) on their opinions towards emulation: The introduction of emulators created to play illegally copied Nintendo software represents the greatest threat to date to the intellectual property rights of video game developers. • 61. Cloud Application Essay The project aims to develop and sustain the necessary tooling that will assist Cloud application lifecycle management operations, using open standards and languages, where appropriate. As aforementioned, these operations are classified into three distinct categories: (1) application description, (2) application deployment and (3) application monitoring. Cloud application management framework (CAMF) will follow the Eclipse OSGi plug–in based software architecture for each of the aforementioned operations and will inherit the same look–and–feel that Eclipse users are accustomed to. To guarantee the quality of the resulting product, the project will follow designated development cycles with rigorous code reviews, unit tests and release cycles (eclipse, ND). INTRODUCTION A cloud application (or cloud application) is an application program that capacities in the cloud, with a few attributes of an immaculate desktop application and a few qualities of an unadulterated Web application. A desktop application lives altogether on a solitary gadget at the client 's area (it doesn 't essentially need to be a desktop PC). A Web application is put away altogether on a remote server and is conveyed over the Internet through a program interface. Similar to other Eclipse frameworks, CAMF organizes all the files related to a Cloud application in a structured hierarchy that utilizes the Eclipse file system (see Figure 1). • 63. Nt1310 Unit 5 Final Paper It can be seen that dhrystone scores and MIPS scores of the both Emulators are surpassing the values provided for Motorola 68040 at 25 MHz by promotional literature of Motorola. Interestingly, these emulations were conducted on ARM Cortex–A7, which is a low end processor. Low end here specifically means that ARM Cortex–A7 has lower performance in terms of DMIPS/MHz compared to performance of Freescale MPC8270 used in processor module of ABB AC 800M. This instinctively implies that these emulations can be potentially considered for integrating legacy applications built for ABB AC 450 using Motorola 68040 into modern ABB AC 800M based on a high end processor MPC8270. These results are also significant because emulators were open source under GPL licenses; this means that there was no extra cost involved for commercial licenses. Therefore, these emulators suffice the need of legacy integration in an economical way compared to other expensive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dhrystone is especially designed to estimate integer performance of a processor based systems. A particular dhrystone score mentions number of times a fundamental function of a dhrystone source code is executed per second. Better this score is, the better is the performance of a processor. To calculate time taken by a dhrystone fundamental function, dhrystone uses standard "times(2)" function by default. However, "times(2)" provides time values in terms of processor clocks consumed. To have this value in seconds dhrystone also requires specification of clock rate used by a processor. Therefore, it is a convention to provide dhrystone score with a clock rate. However, there is no need of specifying clock rate, if the time calculations are performed using standard "time(NULL)" function. For emulators, time calculations are done using standard "time(NULL)" function. Hence, in this report no clock rates are specified with dhrystone scores associated with ... Connectix Corporation, 203 F.3d 596 (2000), is a result of the Ninth Circuit Court of applications which governed the replication of a copyrighted BIOS software through the progress of an emulator software does not institute copyright violation but is protected by reasonable usage. The court also ruled that Sony's PlayStation symbol had not been tarnished by Connectix Crop's sale of its emulator software, the Virtual Game Station. Context of the case Connectix begins the progress of the Virtual Game Station (VGS) in July 1998 as a Macintosh software application that matches Sony's current Play Station video games console's hardware and firmware. This would make it likely for VGS operators to play games advanced for the play station on Macintosh hardware, with strategies to announce a Windows PC well–matched variety at a future day. Connectix's development approach was constructed upon inverse engineering the play Station's BIOS firmware, primary by means of the uncharged BIOS to progress imitation for the hardware, and then by evolving a BIOS of their own using the unique firmware as an aid for fixing. Throughout the progress work, Connectix communicated Sony, demanding "technical support" for finishing the VGS, but this appeal was finally decayed in September 1998. The Video Game Station growth touched conclusion in December 1998, with the software actuality commercially ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 75. A Formal Testing Strategy Is Crucial For Achieving Success... A formal testing strategy is crucial for achieving success with mobile app testing. The information above will definitely guide you in understanding the key focus points of this strategy, but here's a closer look at the steps you should take. Narrow down the devices the app will use Mobile devices present the most obvious challenge to mobile testing. There are countless devices out there consumers could use to access your app and ensuring your app works on all of them can be difficult. Even though your app might run on a single platform (such as iOS or Android), the number of devices will still be high for guaranteeing specific device testing. This is especially the case with Android operating systems. Remember that there are different versions of an operating system and you should decide which operating system versions the app is supposed to work on. In order to handle the device challenge, you can consider using one of the three strategies: Only test using real devices Only test using emulated devices Using a combination of the above As we've mentioned before, you want the emphasis to be on real devices and manual testing. It would be a good idea to focus first on some of the main devices in your category. For example, find out the most sold and used mobile devices that use Android, check which operating system version is currently popular and begin testing. For the devices, which are not as popular, you can use emulated devices as the main testing method. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some of the questions that should be asked when you are determining the FSMO roles and the Global Catalogue (GC) placement are: 1. How many Domain Controllers are in your environment? If there is only one DC in your environment (Not recommended) then all the roles will be on the same server and I would recommend that there should be no more than 20 users. If you have more than 20 users you should have at least two DCs. Two domain controllers are recommended for environments of up to 200 users. The RID master allocates sequences of relative IDs (RIDs) to each of the various domain controllers in its domain. At any time, there can be only one domain controller acting as the RID master in each domain in the forest. Whenever a domain controller creates a user, group, or computer object, it assigns the object a unique security ID (SID). The SID consists of a domain SID, which is the same for all SIDs created in the domain, and a RID, which is unique for each SID created in the domain.
