1. Looking at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to the full product?
2. This is my Preliminary task; this is the first magazine I created. I
created this magazine on Photoshop, however when I started my
new music magazine I created it in Adobe InDesign. While creating
my first magazine in Photoshop I placed the image from my
documents on to the product to my front cover, when adding the
text I added each text onto a new layer so that I could easily edit
and move the texts around the page. When producing my new
music magazine I learnt a new document from scratch. InDesign is
an Industry programme that makes your magazine look like a real
professional magazine which is what I am aiming for.
3. This is my first draft in InDesign. When creating this I taught myself how to place and
images and text wrap them. Even though I created my entire magazine in InDesign I
edited all my images in Photoshop and placed them in after.
This is the text wrap tool that you use when wrapping the text around the image. Doing
this is InDesign is much easier then Photoshop because on Photoshop you have place all
the images in first then draws the text around it where as on InDesign you can place all
the images whenever you want before or after placing the text. I picked these images as
they are a range of different types of images, some are outside and some are inside, I
chose a variety of images because it shows all different types of personalities all in one
article, it lets my audience see different sides to her. I choose the colour purple because
it is associated with royalty and the idea of
having higher life aspirations which the genre conveys throughout.
4. This is my final magazine, since my first draft of my magazine I have changed my house style to green
white black and grey, I done this because when I edited my first double page spread image it changed
to a green/blue. When I re-linked this image to my magazine the purple house style didn’t go with my
image so to get my the green/blue colour of my house style I swatched the colour from my image. I
have improved my magazine because it is now more effective towards my audience, I have made it so
they can see more sides to my model and can interact. I added the 4 different coloured images to on
my second double page spread as it splits up the text adds colour to my magazine and emphasises
this page. On my double page spread I have split an image in half and added it to my last single page.
This sort of image makes the reader want to see if the image carries on to the next page, so the reader
will carry on reading to find out also I think this brings my magazine to an end and shows that it is
finished.
