This is a powerpoint presentation representing technologies from the process of constructing our film opening. With in this nine slide power point I talk about all the equipment we used and what we have learned at the end of the project. I uploaded this powerpoint on to slideshare in order to make it view able on the blog.
3. Video Camera
We used a Video Camera to film the opening of
our horror film, the camera recorded in full hd and
is a professional piece of equipment which helped
us to keep our horror film looking smooth and
professional. We also used the same camera to
record our preliminary task which helped us learn
a lot of new skills when videoing the footage, like
new camera angles that we never used before
and which one fits best for the situation. I have
gained a lot of new experience when using the
video camera as i have learned many new types of
camera angles and shots.
4. Tripod
I used a tripod when recording our footage in order to keep it
stable and steady at all times. Using a Tripod will make things
look a lot more professional hence why we used one and it
was necessary for some of the shots we included in our film
opening. We used the tripod for a Tracking Shot as it meant it
will look steady and continues and for a pan shot. I have
learned that using the tripod is an essential in order to keep
the footage steady and professional. I have also learned that
their is spirit level will tell us if it’s on a steady level and if the
tripod is on a flat service.
5. iMac
I used the iMac to upload all my footage on the local
storage, the Mac is a very professional piece of
hardware which helped me process and edit my
footage very quickly and efficiently. I used the mac in
order to complete a lot of my previous tasks for the
preparation of our opening of the film.I gained a lot of
experience and skill when using the iMac to edit our
preliminary video and horror film opening. I also used
the iMac to complete some research tasks as it was
very smooth to operate and easy.
6. Memory card
We used memory card to store all the footage on, after
we finished recording all of our scenes we were able to
import them into the mac. Where we was able to select
the clips that we wanted and didn't want and it would
upload it on to the desktop.
8. iMovie
I used iMovie to edit my film opening and edit our preliminary task, the reason for
this was because i found using iMovie very easy to use and gave us a vast variety
of editing tools and effects to use with in our film. I was able to gain the skill and
experience with using iMovie after we finished editing our preliminary task, as it
gave me the confidence to edit our film opening as i had more experience using
iMovie and felt a lot more comfortable around it. iMovie is a very professional piece
of software and is exclusive to iMacs which meant i was only able to edit our film
opening at school and not be able to do independent work in my own spare time at
home.
9. Photoshop
We used photoshop in order to design our
production logo, the reason we chose
Photoshop was because it was very simple to
use and offered a large variety of tools and
effects to finish our production logo. I have used
Photoshop before so i was pretty familiar with it
and i was able to operate my way around it in
order to design our logo. Our image is copyright
free as i have made it all by myself and the font
was a free to use template from an online site.
11. Slideshare
I used slideshare whenever i made a powerpoint for one of my tasks in preparation
for the film opening and wanted to upload it on to the blog. Uploading the
powerpoint on to the blog would not be possible without slideshare as it
embedded the video into a HTML format which was readable on the blog and
made it look very professional and clean. During the time i have used slideshare i
was able to learn how to upload my work on to slideshare and then embed it
correctly so it can be displayed on the blog in the right format.
12. Youtube
I used youtube in order to research other film
openings and watch clips of other horror films.
This helped me alot with my research as i was
able to see what effects professional horror films
use and how they represent the right generic
conventions. This helped me alot as i was able to
take notes and gain ideas for my own horror film
opening.
13. Prezi
I used Prezi as an alternative to making a
powerpoint as it's a very professional and eye
catching online tool. It is very easy to use and very
user friendly meaning i was able to get on with it
effectively without ever using prezi before. I used
Prezi to create powerpoints for the preparation
tasks for my blog and during the time i have used
prezi i have learned how to create a very appealing
powerpoint.
14. Art of the title
I used Art of the title to explore different film openings,
art of the tile offers a variety of film openings which i
was able to browse through and watch and take notes
from. This was most effective when we chose our film
genre as it allowed us to browse through the different
horror film openings and annotate the opening and see
what we can use from it in order to make our horror film
successful.
