2. This is the camera we used to film
our entire film. It is a Canon Vixia HF
R300 Camcorder. I have used this
camera before to film a previous
media project so I did have some
experience with it so it was fairly
easy to manage. It produced really
good quality clips which made our
film the best it could be.
This is the tripod we used to
create a steady shot. This was
really handy as it had different,
adjustable heights which was
really helpful, especially in the
scene in the kitchen when we
had to film myself through the
window and we needed to get
a high, steady shot.
We also used this handheld
camera stabilizer in the first
scene when walking towards the
house as it provided us with a
shaky camera shot. Josh simply
walked behind with the camera
on the stabilizer and it was
successful in creating a shaky
shot.

3. We used the H4N mic to record foley sound
such as nails, coins and books being dropped
on the floor. We also used this to record the
scream in the last scene. We used this
instead of the rode mic as the rode mic
would have been damaged from the loud
scream.
This H1 mic was used to also
create foley sound, particularly
when we recorded footsteps
when walking up the stairs.
We used iPhone’s voice recorder to record
the voiceovers in our film such as the
whispering in the kitchen and in the
bedroom and we also used it to record the
breathing when walking up the stairs. This
produced a clear sound and was easily
accessible.

Before I started the project I found using Final Cut Pro
quite difficult but once I had time to explore the things it
had to offer and how to use the main features I became
used to it a lot more, and it became a lot easier to
navigate round the software.
