2. INITIAL POSTER
• For the film Warm Bodies, the first step of the
marketing campaign was the release of the first
poster. The film is based on the book so the title of
the film would instantly attract fans of the boom as it
is a recognizable name.
• The initial poster does not reveal a lot about the
film, just the main two characters, and does not
reveal anything about the release date.
3. SECOND POSTER AND PLOT
RELEASE
• A few months after the initial poster a secondary poster
was released, and this poster focused less on the characters
but more of the plot of the film, with the tagline 'cold body'
'warm heart', which gives a little more insight about the film.
• 'After a zombie becomes involved with the girlfriend of one
of his victims, their romance sets in motion a sequence of
events that might transform his lifeless world'
4. FIRST TRAILER
• Before the first trailers, a release of
behind the scenes videos were released
showing the process of make up and
the production of the film.
• The films first official trailer was
released shortly after revealing the
films story, characters and overall sense
of the film. The trailer follows classic
conventions, creating a small narrative
through the use of imagery and a voice-
over by the main character.
5. SECOND TRAILER
• A second, shorter teaser trailer is
released showing similar scenes to
the first trailer, but showcases more
of the action and highlights the
zombie rom-com genre, through the
use of fast paced, montage editing.
6. NEW POSTERS
RELEASE
• 5 new posters were released for the
film, each with their own comedic
tagline.
• Each poster focuses on a different
character and context.
• All posters have the colour theme of
red and white, which links the posters
together.
7. FIRST 4 MINUTES
Instead of releasing another trailer for the
film, the first 4 minutes of the film were
released online. This allowed people to get a
feel for the film and see whether they are
interested in it or not. It would also create
more hype as people would want to carry on
watching the rest of the film.
