The document discusses how the author gathered feedback from audiences throughout the creation of a music campaign. Initial feedback on concepts came from classmates and was used to improve ideas. Later, focus groups composed mainly of the target audience of males aged 20-25 provided feedback. Feedback methods included questionnaires and was used to refine the music video, digipak, and website by changing elements like color scheme and pace. Final feedback indicated the campaign was complete and ready for the target audience.
2. WHAT I HAVE LEARNT
• The audience
feedback that I have
received has allowed
me to effectively
develop upon and
complete my music
campaign. Once I’ve
finished creating
initial concepts for my
music video I asked
my class for
constructive
feedback. Based on
this feedback I was
able to effectively
improve my concepts
and build upon them.
In this way
throughout the
creation of the music
campaign I used
audience feedback to
build upon the music
video, digipak, and
website.
3. HOW I GATHERED
AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
• I together with my group used a variety of methods to gather
audience feedback. Initially we gathered our classmates and
teacher so that they could provide us with resourceful feedback
on our concepts. As time passed we chose a target audience of
males between 20-25 to be our main audience. Based on this
decision we began receiving feedback by gathering focus groups
mainly composed from our target audience. Although we did also
include other demographics within our focus groups. Eventually
my group diverted into using two different types of research
methods. This methods are the quantitative and qualitative
research methods. I discuss this two research methods more
depth further down in this presentation. Overall I together with
my group have used a variety of ways to gather audience
feedback.
4. TARGET AUDIENCE
• Once I and my group picked the target
audience of males aged from 20-25 we
researched into the generic psychographic
profile of this demographic. By doing this we
prepared ourselves in a way that helped us
pick the appropriate questions for our focus
groups.
5. INITIAL CONCEPTS
• The following blog posts represent my initial concepts for the music video, digipak and
website. Iv’e asked my class to give me feedback based on my secondary and thirdly concepts.
6. INITIAL CONCEPT 2 -
FEEDBACK• The video below represent the
feedback which I have received
for my concept 2 of the music
campaign whilst the screenshot
of the blog post on the left
displays my response to that
feedback. By receiving this
feedback I was able to built upon
my initial concept as can be
seen by examining my post on
the left.
7. INITIAL CONCEPT 3 -
FEEDBACK
• Similarly to my
concept 2 I have
received feedback on
my concept 3 which in
the same way has
allowed me to develop
upon that concept.
8. GROUP - TREATMENT
• After I have received feedback on
my initial ideas I was grouped
together with two other people. In
this group I combined one of my
concepts together with the concepts
of my groups members. In this way
my group came up with a brand new
concept for the music video. I then
together with my group created a
treatment to organise our concept
and represent it to other people. I
then displayed the treatment, that is
also shown left, to audiences within
my school which provided us with
feedback on entire concept. This
time it was easier for my group to
receive feedback and share our
concept as we did it in a visually
assisted way through the use of the
treatment. In this way we received
the primary feedback on our groups
music video concept.
9. GROUP - FEEDBACK
• Shown on the right is
the feedback that my
group has received
based on the treatment
that we have shown to
our audiences. This
feedback has pointed
towards the areas
within our concept
which we did not notice.
Furthermore it has
clearly pointed out the
issues and hardships
within the production of
our concept
10. GROUP -
FEEDBACK
RESPONSE
• The blog post on the right
displays my groups response
to the feedback we have
received based on our
treatment. In this post I
clearly outline the ways in
which my groups idea has
developed and what things
we have changed about it. In
this way this blog post
displays how feedback has
allowed my group and me to
develop upon our concept for
a music video.
11. GROUP -ANIMATIC
• Based on my group ideas and developments combined with the feedback that we have received we devised a hard
draft of our concept for a music video in the form of an animatic storyboard. Then together with my group we
displayed the animatic storyboard to our educator so as to evaluate our position with the concept. Based on this
feedback we understood that we were prepared to begin pre-production and could move forward with our current
concept. In short this feedback has taught us that we were ready to begin preparing for production.
12. MUSIC CAMPAIGN - FIRST
DRAFT
• At this point I together
with my group have
finished creating the
rough drafts for a
digipak, music video and
a website.
13. • After creating our first draft for our
music campaign we looked into
various types of research methods
in order to receive more developed
feedback.
QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE
RESEARCH METHODS
14. • Once we have learnt about quantitive and qualitative
research methods we constructed a questionnaire from
which we received the following feedback shown below.
Here it can be clearly seen what we have learnt from our
audiences. Based on these finding we began altering our
music video and developing upon its colour scheme, pace
and other factors.
QUESTIONNAIRE -
MUSIC CAMPAIGN
15. FINAL AUDIENCE
FEEDBACK (MUSIC VIDEO)
• Shown on the left is the rough draft of our music video. Displayed on the right is
our final music video design. Every time our group has made an advance in our
concept for a music video we have utilised audience feedback to develop upon
and build our idea. In this way we have learnt from our audience feedback
essentially what our target audience is looking for within a music video. Using
this knowledge we have produced a music video which appeals most this
audience as can be seen below.
16. FINAL AUDIENCE
FEEDBACK (DIGIPAK)
• Shown on the right is
the feedback my group
has received on the
rough draft of the
digipak. Furthermore
my response to that
feedback is shown
below. Based on this
feedback I have
developed upon the
digipak design. This
development is
represented on the
following slide.
17. FINAL AUDIENCE
FEEDBACK (DIGIPAK)• Based on the feedback that our group has received on the digipak we have been able to alter
our design from the one shown on the left to the one shown on the right. In this way we have
learned from our audience feedback in what ways to develop upon our rough draft in order to
create a House digipak for our artist.
18. FINAL AUDIENCE
FEEDBACK (WEBSITE)
• Based on the Qualitative data
that our group has gathered is is
clear to us know what are some
of the issues present within our
campaign as well as some of the
ways in which we can tackle
them. For instance based on
some of the answered we have
received we will attempt to cut
on motion within the dance
element in our music video in
order to make it more appealing.
Furthermore we will remove
some of the cuts and and extend
certain areas of the music video
as they have appeared
confusing to our focus group.
19. FINAL AUDIENCE
FEEDBACK
(WEBSITE)
• Based on what we have learnt from
our audience feedback on the
website we have applied changed
to our website and developed it
throughly. As can be seen on the
right we have changed the font on
our website, simplified imagery,
and updated the colour scheme. By
doing this we’ve applied knowledge
we have acquired from our
audiences and therefore hope to
appeal to our target audiences and
others. Furthermore by updating
the colour scheme I made certain
that my groups artists website
follows and develops upon the
conventions of House websites.
20. FINAL AUDIENCE FEEDBACK
(MUSIC CAMPAIGN)
• The blog post shown on the
right displays the final feedback
my group has received for our
music campaigns a whole. It
also displays my answer to that
feedback and how our music
campaign has moved forward
from that point in time and been
complete a number of days
laters. Therefore in this case
audience feedback has taught
me and my group that our
products are finally complete
and ready ready to be
presented to our target
audience and others.
21. CONCLUSION
• In conclusion audience feedback has been essential to me and my group throughout
the production of our music campaign. Essentially feedback has taught me in what
ways I could develop each of products which I have been working on. It has pointed
out to me and my group things that we have missed and has allowed our products to
appeal to a certain group of people. Finally audience feedback has taught me to look
at projects from different perspective and take into account the toughest and opinions
of other people. AS these thoughts and opinions can enable me and the people I
work with to better projects created to be consumed by the public.
