The document discusses feedback received from audiences on a promotional package for a music project. Feedback was gathered through online surveys, focus groups, and sharing content on social media. Focus groups provided detailed feedback that helped improve the music video and packaging. Surveys visually showed what audiences felt was important to include. Social media feedback indicated what worked well in the music video but was less reliable given potential bias. Overall, feedback helped make the products more visually appealing, professionally produced, and ensured they included important elements audiences desired.
2. The audiences view.
Throughout the Coursework process getting the audiences view and opinions has always been vastly
important, reasons why;
So we could identify the audiences psychographics and demographics and what they like to see in a
promotional package.
The parts of the package the public like/dislike
Information that can help us to improve the work and make it to better standard.
We got audience feedback through 3 processes,
Online surveys
Holding focus groups with members of the public
Sharing the content on social media

3. Focus group Feedback, Research stage
During the planning and preparation stages We decided to hold a Focus group and questioned
the participants (members of the public) based around our ideologies and what they think
they would expect to see. From the responses we recorded on audio I then constructed a
YouTube clip that displayed our findings in a visual and engaging way.
How did the Feedback Help make my Products better?
In their answers the participants stressed their need or feel to see the band performing in the music
video. They thought live action would have more emphasis, power and connote professionalism.
The original plan was not to include sections of live performance in the music video because I felt
the narrative would need full attention to understand the plot. However I made changes and
developed a swift and free flowing interchange between the live performance and narrative scenes
that did feel much more energetic and professional to watch. We held a Photo shoot with the Band
members and used one of our more powerful engaging images in our digipak (first panel when
opened). This reinforced product identity, something one of the respondents thought was very
important. Being able to connect with the artist allows audiences to develop a sense of engagement
with my product, creating a relationship with the promotional package that encourages further
interest and desires.
How useful was the feedback?
This Feedback was particular useful because of the way the focus group was conducted, meaning we
could ask in person the participants to elaborate and provide opinions in great detail. All responses
were fairly long and being in the same room we could ask them more if we felt the answers were
not providing as much information that we desired. During the focus group we was able to show
the people the song which they listened to and answered questions honestly after it, this was
helpful. However despite the very positive and constructive feedback given the focus group was
small the opinions of 2 people didn't really represent a large number of people. Overall this
technique of audience research was very helpful however its not accurate when representing a
whole target audience

4. Focus group Feedback, Research stage
During the production and preparation stages we constructed an online survey using they
internet based website called Survey Monkey. Survey monkey allowed myself to create a
series of questions that were presented to the public where they would chosen their
responses and the application builds bar graphs to show the answers.
How did the Feedback Help make my Products better?
Within the responses we received a variety of options that the public could vote for. When designing
the Digipak and Advertisement There was so much we could have put onto the promotional
package but ultimately I wanted to here from the people to accurately pinpoint what is important
and what is not. The responses and feedback showed me the digipak needed to be visually striking
and exciting, have good product identity and connote the artist. I therefore decided to use
Photoshop in order to use a range of editing techniques and filters to develop more interesting
images that contrast in saturation and brightness., This was more appealing to view. I also decided
seeing the band was vitally important as well, so the inside panel of the digipak had a picture taken
from a Photoshop of the band as you open it, just to refer back to the artist and give the package a
personally touch of identity. I was also able to produce an advertisement with all the components
listed that participants voted as important to have. Therefore my adjustments meet all the
expectations shown in my graph.
How useful was the feedback?
This Graph gives an instant visual representation of the spatial and answer variation, I was able
to quickly pinpoint sections of work that needed changing to suit the needs of the audience.
All feedback I got was received in bulk from a lot of participants, meaning the answers
statistically are more reliable to use, so I can trust the feedback. The feedback told me i was
trying to be too information based in the planning stages and that I needed to brighten up
my products to ultimately sell the promotional package.

5. Social Networking feedback, evaluation stage
Once the Music video had been through its last stages of filming and editing, I decided
to post the hyperlink of the Video on social media. Social media in current day is a
very powerful internet interacting software. Alot of the younger generation are on
this and my music videos genre generally targets the younger age groups, so i
could direct get feedback form them. Its also easy to freely advertise and promote
things on the sites such as facebook, twitter and instagram.
How did the Feedback Help make my Products better?
This feedback was actually not that beneficial to my products production, it had
been completed then watched by now. However The feedback was helpful on
a personal level as it indicated what I did right in the music video and wrong.
To the right is some examples of the messages of feedback I got back. It was
great to see how the public reacted to the music video and thought it was a
success and also some improvements to consider for future reference (not
viewed)
How useful was the feedback?
The feedback was useful to show the general public response to the music video.
Many complimented on its Narrative being very powerful and they enjoyed
the style of the film. Something I really worked hard on trying to piece
together correctly given previous feedback had said that should have been
priority to get spot on. However its also debatable I knew some of these
people and they were biased in their responses because of it. So this was
useful not but as reliable for a few reasons.

6. Some extra feedback I got from A current University student doing A
Level Media (left image) And former Media GCSE teacher that Taught
me in high school! (Right image)
This was extremely useful as gave me some
improvements for future reference, some
pointer I actually went back and changed and
the positives from the music video.
