2. Oslo was named oslo because it sits on the southernmost coast of the oslofjord a
major water way. it is located on the bygdøy peninsula. The city is a hub of
Norwegian trade, banking, industry and shipping. It is an important centre for
maritime industries and maritime trade in Europe. The city is home to many
companies within the maritime sector, some of which are among the world's
largest shipping companies, shipbrokers and maritime insurance brokers.

3. Transportation of oslo
- Oslo has the main center of air traffic
- Norway's difficult terrain, the road system has been well engineered, with
tunnels and zigzags, particularly in the fjordlands of the west; but there are
problems of maintenance because of heavy rain in the west and freezing in
the east. Road transport accounts for nearly 90% of inland passenger
transport.
- Transport in Norway is highly influenced by Norway's low population density,
narrow shape and long coastline. Norway has old water transport traditions,
but road, rail and air transport have increased in importance during the 20th
century. Due to the low population density, public transport is somewhat less
built out in rural areas of Norway, however public transport in, and around
cities is well developed.

4. Rank size rule and primate city
The rank size rule states that there is a specific relationship between relative
abundance of settlements of different sizes, and that the smallest settlements
should always be the most abundant. More specifically the rank size rule states
that population of any given town should be inversely proportional to its rank in the
country’s or world’s hierarchy of cities. Therefor the second largest city should be
half the population of the largest city within a certain country.
A primate city is the leading city in its country or region, disproportionately larger
than any others in the urban hierarchy. A 'primate city distribution' has one very
large city with many much smaller cities and towns, and no intermediate-sized
urban centers, in contrast to the linear 'rank-size distribution'.

5. Oslo primate city or rank size rule
the city of oslo has a population is 580,000 and I believe that it follows primate city
not rank size rule because the population is double the second largest city in
population size and the second follows at around 213,535.

12. Primary secondary and tertiary sectors
Primary sectors include Norway is the largest oil-exporting nation in Europe and
supplies around 20% of Western Europe's gas needs. Norway's metallic (mined)
minerals include iron ore, copper,zinc, lead, gold, nickel, coal and ilmenite and
seafood is their third largest export item. secondary sectors include Oslo-based
Hydro currently stands as the world’s third-largest integrated aluminium supplier,
manufacturing products for the automotive, transport and building industries,
featuring products in the casthouse, extruded, rolled and wire rod arenas. And lots
of jobs for mechanical engineers. tertiary sectors include business, entertainment,
food, broadcasting info and radio, and hotels. Along with tours of the city and the
fjords.

If i moved to oslo norway this is the story

14. Day 1
I landed at oslo airport and i headed to the thief a hotel in downtown oslo. After i
put my stuff in the hotel room. I wanted to see what the city was all about. So first i
went downtown the old viking museums. Then I rented a bike and went all around
town seeing this new city i had never been before. Last before i headed back to
the hotel room i had dinner at the oro bar norwegian food styles. After dinner i
headed back to my hotel to think about where i wish to live. Like if i want to live
right in the center of downtown and be able to walk to everything or live out of
downtown and have to buy a car.

15. Day 2
After a long night of thinking of where to live i chose to live in downtown where i'm
able to walk everywhere and not have to buy a car and then pay for gas. So i talk
to a real estate agent about what i want. Like water views 2 bedrooms 2 bath open
concept. So he takes me to see some houses. After 4 nice choices i finally
chooses one. I chose to live of thieves island. So then within the first few hours of
living there i was already moved in with water views. And then go shopping for
furniture so i have a bed and a TV and a couch. After several hours of shopping i
find all i need and i get settled in ready for the next day.

16. Day 3
The first half of the day I went on a half day cruise to see the fjords. In the
oslofjord. With the river between the 2 sides of the earth. After that experience, I
went to look outside the downtown area and found that some of the outer areas of
oslo have been sprawled. ( the spread of buildings and houses into the
countryside). So I looked harder big open flat areas and minimal trees of what
looked like countryside. But since oslo has minimal trees they like going out to the
countryside.

17. Day 4
Again i went outside the city and found some smart growth (planned economic
and community development that attempts to curb urban sprawl and worsening
environmental conditions). I found that oslo is placing trees and greens on the top
of building to make it more dense and be greener because their are not a lot of
trees in oslo. Oslo has lots of problems becoming the one of the biggest cities in
europe like growth boundaries and traffic gridlocks.

18. Day 5
Places I would like to work are entertainment or a job that requires a degree.
places in the city close to where I live in the downtown area. Like a restaurant or
bar. Since their are so many people the chance to make a huge profit would be
tremendous. Or I could go into a specific field. But then I would have to get a
degree in something. But has a chance to make more money.
