Knockouts are common in sheet
metal fabrication and are used in
electrical enclosures as an access
point to bring wires into the
enclosure.
A very important feature of a
knockout is the tabs, which keep
the knockout attached to the
sheet. The tab size, quantity and
location are critical to determining
the ease or difficulty with which
the knockout is removed.
