Lance and form tools are very
common in sheet metal fabrication.
There are two general types of
lance and forms, an open-end form
that is cut on three sides (clip lance)
and a closed end form that is cut on
one or two sides (thread form,
bridge lance).
Lance and forms can be used to
create:
• Card (or other) guides within an
enclosure, such as a computer
• Simple to complex mechanical
connection points for other
components
• Positioning locators
