WINE TASTING
profumi intensi e variegati, buona struttura, bassa acidità, finezza e
giornalieri.
The Doc Montescudaio Rosso was first made in 1977 and
is only produced in 7 municipalities in the province of Pisa.
Podere Morazzano chose this corner of the Tuscan coast
to create wines that reflect a unique terroir, harmoniously
blending passion, a viticulture vocation and history.
Of 9 hectares, positioned 250 meters above sea level, with soil
composed of clay, limestone, flysch marl and calcareous clays,
5 hectares were planted with Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc,
Merlot and Petit Verdot. The microclimate is influenced by
sea breezes and a temperature range which allows the grape
varieties to mature perfectly. The environment gives the wine
solid deep colors, intense and varied scents, good structure,
low acidity, finesse and longevity. Harvesting is done by hand,
in small boxes, followed by natural fermentation, with no
added yeast, and daily remounting. The wines are aged in
steel and French oak barriques, with a long refinement in the
bottle before release for the market. With the aim of always
maintaining a high standard of quality, total production never
exceeds 20,000 bottles per year. In the tasting that follows,
we present the three wines produced by Podere Morazzano:
Ribuio Rosso IGT Toscana, the winery’s basic versatile and
pleasant wine, Re Rosso Montescudaio Doc, powerful and
elegant, aged 14 months in barriques and 24 months in the
bottle, its power expressed in an enveloping taste, and Eriva, a
pure Merlot born from the desire to express the territory with
a fruity wine from a perfect terroir, a happy climate and highly
select vintages.
