Vocabulary words
dinosaur (n) – a type of reptile that
became extinct about 65,000 years
ago.
There were different types of
dinosaur, some of which were
extremely large.
fossil (n) – the shape of a
bone, a shell, or a plant or
animal that has been
preserved in rock for a very
long period.
mud (n) – soft,
sticky matter
resulting from
the mixing of
earth and water.
sand (n) – a
substance that
consists of very
small grains of
rock, found on
beaches and in
deserts.
bones (n) – any of
the hard parts
inside a human or
animal that make
up its frame.
teeth (n) – one of
the hard, white
objects in the
mouth that are used
for biting and
chewing
(crushing food)
footprints (n)
– the mark
made by a
person’s or
animal’s foot.
tracks (n) – a path or
rough road that is
made of soil rather
than having a surface
covered with
stone or other
material.
tail (n) – a part of
an animal’s body,
sticking out from
the base of the
back, or something
similar in shape or
position.
nest (n) – a structure built
by birds or insects to leave
their eggs in to develop, and
by some other animals to give
birth or live in.
