3. About Us
Familia Marguery arises from the
strong belief of producing high quality
wines, in limited amounts, by using the
best technology available, focused on
Malbec as a variety.
We believe that our mission is trying to
understand what each vineyard has to
say every year so that their exact words
are expressed in our wines, without
betrayals. We just want to be mediators
between our vineyards and our custom-
ers, being able to name our wines:
estate wines.
We produced our first harvest in the
year 2000 and started to operate in the
market as from 2002.
4. Our Vineyards
Our wines come from small estates
strategically located in paradigmatic
regions for the growth of Malbec.
We work in each of them with extreme
care.
- Viña “Carpinteros”: Las Compuertas,
Luján de Cuyo.
- Viña “El Dique”: Villa Seca, Tunuyan.
Valle de Uco
- Viña “Villafañe”: Altamira, San Carlos.
Valle de Uco
The common denominator of these
vineyards is their altitude: over 1,000
meters above sea level. This altitude
results in an extraordinary temperature
range: warm days and very cold nights.
Such difference in temperature assures
ideal conditions for the correct matura-
tion of polyphenols, excellent color
synthesis and great acidity.
5. The Winery
The winery has stainless steel tanks,
pumps, cooling systems, a sorting table
and a state-of-the-art pneumatic press.
The capacity of the tanks ranges from
3,000 to 20,000 litres allowing us to pro-
cess each vineyard separately.
Therefore, we are able to thoroughly
follow our vineyards' oenological evo-
lution and identify parcels with more
potential distinguishing types of fruits
and concentration of polyphenols.
Barrel room for 100 oak barrels.
