2. Plot
The film is about two members of a fictional organized crime group in the Italian-
American mafia; the boss, Carmine Padrone and a ‘soldier’ Joe Silesi. Padrone recieves a
note from Silesi saying that he has proof that padrone killed Mrs White.The two then
meet at Padrones restaurant where a tense conversation takes place, it is then revealed
that the two are playing a game of Cluedo.
Target audience
The film is aimed at a mainstream audience of all genders between the age of 18 - 35
interested in gangster/mafia films such as GoodFellas andThe Godfather.
3. Key Characters
Carmine Padrone – a man played by a woman, he always looks sharp and well dressed.
He is well respected and has a reputation of being ruthless but never gets his hands
dirty. he is the boss of a fictional organized crime group in the Italian-American mafia
after taking over from his father who he had a strained relationship with.
Joe Silesi – a man played by a woman, a ‘solider’ in Padrone’s crime group who is trying
to work his way up to the top. He is dressed much more relaxed and slightly scruffier
than Padrone to show the difference in status between the two characters. Silesi is
confident, cocky and cynical due to the fact that he is an orphan from the age of 11 and
had to learn how to protect himself from an early age
4. The film world (setting)
Key setting 1 – ‘Louie’s’ an Italian restaurant owned by Carmine Padrone where joe Silesi
asks to meet him.The restaurant is dark and quiet with a tense atmosphere.
Key setting 2 – Padrone’s house, a luxury sitting room with warm lighting.
There is a red velvet sofa and side table where Padrone will be sitting when he recieves
Joe Silesi’s letter.
The film will use warm, dim lighting and long shot duration to create a tense atmosphere.
It will have a classic colour palette of black white and red and will be reminiscing of classic
80’s gangster movies.
The Film’s Style
5. Soundscape
The sound in the film will be created through different layers including; dialogue, music
and ambient sound.
Music – Italian opera music will play in the background throughout the film to set the tone.
It will get louder during moments of tension and quieter when the characters are
speaking.
Ambient sound – during the scene in the restaurant ambient sound will play very quietly
including sounds of people talking as well as glasses and cutlery being used.
