1. CASTING CALL - HOW TO GRIEVE
A new short film about how different people deal with loss.
MARGOT (lead) - a teenage girl, 16-18. She is typically quirky and shy as well as
sarcastic and loveable, but since the loss of8her grandmother she has kept to herself.
She is experiencing a big loss for the first time and struggles to handle it.
MAYA (supporting) - the older sister of Margot, 18-19, she is mature and usually always
appears composed in front of others. However, she is much more emotional after the
loss of her grandmother in comparison to Margot.
OLIVER (supporting) - the boyfriend of Margot, 16-18. Ike Margot, he is quirky, but he is
much more confident and confrontational. He is loving and more emotional than he
would like other people to know. He needs attention and instantly thinks the worst when
he is ignored by his loved ones.
Casting - The casting of actors for a film will sometimes be led by a Casting Director,
particularly on films with higher budgets. The role of a casting director is to organize the
casting of actors for all the roles in a film and organizing the auditions. They will work
closely with the director of the film as well as the producer(s) in order to understand the
what is required from the actors.
