simplistic, but somethingthatisveryindividualsothatitcanbedistinctive
amongothermusic. Thiscoverlooks veryedgy;theblackandwhitecolour scheme,the
man’sfacialhairandhimsmokingallindicatestheroughandgrittystyleof the
music andbandwhichis somethingthatiwould liketoreplicate.Theothercoverfor
WhileSheSleeps’ thisisthesixisalsoverysimplistic.Itusesdarkcolours andsome
whitehighlightsandtheonlyimageis theband’slogowhichfanswould recognise
veryeasily.Overall,fromlooking atotheralbumcoversihavecometotheconclusion
thatmycovershouldbesimplistic,involvingsomedarkcolours andthemesto
representthemetAL/ROCK/PUNK styleof music.

FormedinSheffieldin2006,thebandconsists of
vocalistLawrenceTaylor,guitarists SeanLongand
MatWelsh,bassistAaranMcKenzieanddrummer
AdamSavage,althoughtheydidnot startwiththis
lineup.‘Loz’Taylorjoinedthebandin2009when
formervocalist JordanWiddowson left theband
becauseof workcommitments. Theyarecurrently
signedtoSearchandDestroy RecordsintheUK, The
EndRecords[1] intheUSandShockRecords in
Australia,however,theyhaverecently announced
thattheyaregoing forwardasanindependent band
andareselfreleasingtheirthirdfullstudio album.
TheywonaKerrangawardin2012forthe‘best
newcomers’.
Theband’sgenre hasbeendescribed asmetalcore,
hardcorepunkandalternativemetal.Theytake
inspiration from bandssuchasThrice,Slipknot,Foo
Fighters andUnderoath.
Idecided tochoose thisbandasmyfocus becauseas
guitarist MattWelshsaid,"it's superheavybut then
it's melodic too". Thisis astyleof musicthatireally
likeandlistentoalot. Thiskindof musicusually has
heavydrums whichmeansthatithasagood beatwhich
wouldbegood foramusicvideo. Thebandalsowrite
theirownsongsandbasethemontheirbeliefs and
thingsthattheyarepassionate about.Most oftheir
songs promote veryrealisticviewsabouttheworldand
theideaofindividuality andindependence andthis
isanotherthingthatireallylikeabouttheband.
