2. Meaning of Juxtaposition
Juxtaposition is the act or placement of two things that
contradict each other. For example the picture I have
used contradicts each other with life and death. The
tank resembles death as it’s used to kill and the kids
are signs of young life. You can also talk about the
contrast of the sky compared to the colour of the
desert.
3. Elements what create a
juxtaposed image
There is a variety of elements what can create a
juxtaposed image. For example some factors what can
can create a juxtaposed image is age, height, life and
death etc. Age can create an juxtaposed image as
there can be sign of new life and old. Height can create
a juxtaposed image as two people could have a big
difference in height. These are simple examples of
juxtaposition photo’s as the opposites are clear to spot.
4. Juxtaposed photo
What is the content of the photo? What message is
conveyed by the photo?
In this photo you have a Chinese building with an
industrial factory behind. This creates a juxtaposed photo
as the building has been made to look nice where as the
factory is used for production so this makes two opposites
5. My photos
How do your images demonstrate juxtaposition?
My first image creates a juxtaposition from nature and the car park
My second image creates a juxtaposition from natural light and artificial light
My third image demonstrates juxtaposition as there is an example of life and death
from nature.
My fourth image demonstrates juxtaposition as light and shade are opposites in
which I have showed in my photo.
