PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY
Portrait photography is a photograph of a person or group of people
that capture the personality of a subject by using effective lighting,
backdrops and poses.
Portrait photography is typically used in magazines to advertise
beauty products.
David Bailey is a portrait photographer.
LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY
Landscape photography shows spaces within the world, sometimes vast
and unending, but other times microscopic. Landscape photographs
typically capture the presence of nature but can also focus on man made
features and disturbances of landscape.
Charlie Waite is one of the worlds leading photographers. An English
landscape photographer, noted for his ’painterly’ approach in using light
and shade.
MACRO/NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY
Macro photography is extreme close up
photography, usually of very small subjects and
living organisms like insects, in which the size of the
subject in the photograph is greater than life size.
Albert Ghizzi Panizza is an Italian photographer who
started to be interested in photography after his
visits to the ruins of ancient Egypt. His passion for
travelling, adventure, nature, insects and animals
has helped him to capture creative photographs. He
specializes in capturing nature, landscape and macro
photographs.
FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY
Fashion photography is typically used
to sell something, this type of
photography lures customers by
glamorising the product. They are
generally very creative and visually
very interesting and can be taken in
locations like a studio, an apartment, a
rundown building or anywhere
outdoors.
In this genre of photography, the
location, lighting, makeup, stylist and
the model play a significant role.
Fashion photography is used in
magazines such as vogue it is also
used to advertise clothing products for
stores such as topshop and h&m.
Mario Testino is a fashion and portrait
photographer. His work has features
internationally in magazines such as
vogue, v magazine and vanity fair.
