My Experience With Kidney Cancer
"I have cancer" is certainly not a pleasant phrase to hear from your loved one. The night of November 22 of 2014, the same night I got back from
New Orleans, I was informed my mother had been diagnosed with kidney cancer. The night started off as expected by telling my experiences from the
trip, giving my family members the souvenirs I bought, and showing off the wonderful pictures I took. After the experiences were told, souvenirs
were given, and the pictures were seen I could tell by the nervous tension something was wrong. I was then told to sit down because we needed to have
a family discussion about the news my mother had received. The talk started by my mother saying "I have kidney cancer." then escalated to the plans of
treatment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I was angry my mother and family had to endure the pain, seeing the worry in my mother's eye's, and not knowing the outcome of the situation. After
pondering the reasons angering me, I began to look for ways to make them positive. The positive I see for my family enduring the pain was to make
us stronger not only as a family but also individually. Becoming stronger as an individual teaches us we can handle any situation with confidence. The
worry in my mother's eye's gave me the motive to do everything in my willpower to consult her and help build her confidence on the situation which in
return helps myself become more confident in the situation. Having more confidence in the situation led me to believe the outcome was going to work
in our favor and we could put the situation behind us. Frightening thoughts may have been the hardest to find the positive in but there is always a

Fools Rush In Concept Paper
Fools Rush In is a romantic comedy dealing with interpersonal communication between Isabel and Alex. When these two first met each other it was at
a restaurant. From the beginning, there were obvious signs of flirting. As the night went on, Isabel ended up going to Alex's home. Waking up in his
arms, she quickly scrambled her things and left only to return three months later to tell Alex she is pregnant with his baby. This movie is a perfect
example of a relationship between two people. In a relationship there is a time where the two discloses information about one another, have mixed
emotions, and other interpersonal concepts. Fools Rush In has many examples of first impressions, self–concepts, conflict, identity needs, stages of...

Isabel had mixed emotions about the situation. She wanted to invite Alex into her life permanently but she did not want to get hurt with what the

Disadvantages Of Conflict Management
Conflict is known to be inseparable in all human interactions. An organization can be recognized as a unit which attempts to move towards goals,
productivity, profit and success. But within the institute itself, conflicts arise everyday relating to various factors on which employees, managers and
departments disagree. The amount and the seriousness of these conflicts will vary noticeably from cordial disagreement to open conflict, such as strike
action. In a controlled manner, conflict can stimulate creativity and action to a project or an organization that may have been remaining within the
boundaries of safety and becoming state. Conflict can be a serious problem in an organization. It can create conditions that make it nearly impossible
for employees to work together. On the other hand, conflict also has a less well known positive side.

The major contribution of the interactionist approach is encouraging group leader to maintain minimum level of conflict enough to keep the group
practical, self–critical and creative. So it is suggested that managers within the organization should maintain the level of conflict which may keep the
organization active, creative and capable of dealing with adversity in their environment. The theory does not suggests that all conflict is good. Whether
a conflict is good or bad depends on the type of conflict. The good or bad conflict here refers to functional and dysfunctional conflict. Functional
conflict supports the goals of a group and its presence within the organization actually improves performance. Dysfunctional conflict, on the other hand,

Reflection Paper On Elyssium
Accesses to basic human services
Now– Elysium– future that I can see.
We all are thinking of what's going to happen in future.
There is no time frame for future, the next second, next minute, next hour or the next 100 years, they all considered as the future. The truth is in this 3
and half minute that I am going to tell you what I am thinking of future there are people out there working on what they want future to be like.
We all watched Elysium, and it was about two separate worlds. Two different kind of people with two different life conditions. Elysium gave me this
idea of what's going to happen to us in the future is the advancement and complexity of what's happening today. The movie helped me to realiseearth
and technology are enemies and we all are dangerously improving, now by this I mean there'll be a day, humanity doesn't exist and people will forget
the earth and where they've come from.
Today we have two different worlds, where there are two different kind of people, life style and dreams. Third and first people are the earth and
Elysium people. Elysium is showing us the most plausible points that we are living today. Elysium gave me an ugly picture of what's going to happen
to first and third world people which is very likely to happen.
The first thing at Elysium that helped me to realise my own image of future was the scene that shows us difference of health conditions at earth and
Elysium. At Elysium, the treatment for cancer stage 4 is as easy as

John Kotter's Eight Stage Change Model
Abstract
This paper discusses John Kotter's Eight–Stage Change Model and how it can be used as a guide when implementing change within an organization.
The roles of various stakeholders including senior and emerging leaders, managers and employees throughout the eight stages are defined. In addition,
factors which can contribute to a failed organization change initiative are discussed.
Transforming an organization from a sub–optimizing enterprise of independently functioning departments to an organization that embraces
cross–functional teams and customer centric integrated processes that focuses on delivering quality products and services requires a well defined and
implemented plan of action. In addition, transforming an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

reject the organizational transformation. Sincere belief in the transformation initiatives by employees is essential for success. Stage Five of the Kotter
Model allows for the employees to take risks or make changes to internal process that are impeding the transformation effort. The success of the
implementation of Stages One through Four will provide employees the confidence and trust they need that will allow them to make suggestions or
change legacy processes that will add to the success of the transformation. Stage Six of the Kotter Model is designed for the achievement of milestones
throughout the course of the organizational transformation. Stage Six includes creating short–term wins that allows the organization to see
improvements and success which builds momentum (Kotter, 2007, p. 4). The momentum experienced from the success of the short–term wins could
result in the expansion of the vision as describe in Stage Seven of the Kotter Model. In addition, it is possible during Stage Seven of the Kotter Model
that departments, cross–functional teams or employees can actually uncover additional opportunities and initiate additional process improvements that

Reputation in Jeopardy
Chapter 15 – Conflict and Negotiation Conflict can be defined as a process that begins when one party perceives that another party has negatively
affected or is about to negatively affect, something that the first party cares about. Chapter 15 of our textbook, Organizational Behavior, discusses the
concept of conflict in great deal, as well as identifies the process of negotiation as means to resolve conflict. Many of the topics covered in the chapter
have a direct implication to the case study, Reputation in Jeopardy, and can be used to both analyze and provide insight into the possible future behavior
of the characters in the study. The case can be broken down into three main questions: 1. What are the main... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Amber is now caught in a very sticky situation because two conflicts have become intertwined. The most obvious is Lydia anger, and being that Lydia
is a manager this issue could damage Amber's reputation. Also, Amber is upset with her own boss Sarah for instigating the trouble with Lydia, but she
feels she cannot tell Lydia the truth about Sarah because doing so would implicate her own boss and look like she is just trying to put the blame on
someone else. Now the question is what should Amber do?
How do the concepts of conflict relate to this case? Over the years, three different views on conflict have been proposed. The earliest approaches to
conflict assumed that all conflict was bad and should be avoided; this was called the Traditional View. The second view, namely the Human Relations
View, saw conflict as a natural occurrence, and that it was inevitable in any group, therefore it should be accepted. The third, and most recent view of
conflict, it the Interactionist View, which states that conflict is an absolute necessity for a group to perform effectively. The interactionist view divides
conflict into two categories, functional and dysfunctional. Functional conflicts support the goals of the group and improve its performance. These are
usually task or process conflicts. Dysfunctional conflicts, however, hinder the group's

Group Development And Interaction Theory Essay
Group Development and Interaction Theory
Within the business setting, the shift from yesterday's "singular" culture to today's "team" culture has brought about a new era of learning,
development, and innovation. However, this shift has also brought with it a certain amount of dissatisfaction, conflict, and confusion. This paper will
focus on the Tuckman Theory, and discuss how Tuckman's five stages of group development and interaction applies to the work environment and
leadership effectiveness.
The Tuckman Theory
Tuckman's theory maintains that groups enter four foreseeable and elementary stages of development, and each of these stages contain both task and
maintenance functions. These stages are Forming, Storming, Norming, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Storming. When important issues are beginning to be addressed within the team, the patience of some team members may begin to break down and
confrontations begin. The majority of these initial confrontations may relate to the work of the group itself, or to roles and responsibilities within the
group. However, most of these minor confrontations will be taken lightly or dealt with promptly.
In order to progress to the next stage, group members must move from a "testing and proving" mentality to a problem–solving mentality. Hopefully,
everyone will agree that the most important thing is to finish the work and agree to work together to solve their problems. It is important to note that
to move on to the next stage group members need the ability to listen to each other (MacLeod, 2002).
Some team members may welcome these minor squabbles in that they can reveal the real issues among the team, while others will wish they were
still in the comfortable confines of forming. This is also the stage when team members will look for ways to avoid or mediate conflicts more effectively.
Norming. With conflicts resolved, and the rules of the team established, and the scope of the teams' responsibilities and tasks clear and agreed–upon,
the team can get to the business at hand. Team members are once again comfortable with each other as well as his/her skills, knowledge, and abilities.
These feelings

Mergers Of A Team Working Together Essay
Mergers of corporations take a lot of time, consideration, team work, and cohesiveness with team members and groups. Conflict and
confrontations will surely arise, but it is up to those in management to learn how to deal with and make sure that everyone and everything operate
effectively and orderly. As a team working together, we must present a plan of cohesiveness and put in place the manner of how these goals and
plans will be implemented in each department. Clear, concise explanation of reasoning as to why these plans should be carried out should always
be our priority as a team because everyone will not agree with the decision or want to be a part of the decision making process. The initial forming
of our new team will be a challenge, but must be done strategically. Since mergers consist of different departments, we will be able to obtain
individuals with various different skillsets. This is a positive because these individuals will bring in new and innovative ideas to complete the task at
hand. However, this will also cause the individuals to have disagreements on their different ideas. We will need to gather the individuals and
encourage open ended discussions, but still work together in order to achieve their goal. Once individuals are identified for the new team, we must
bring them together in order to get know each other. At this time the team is at a point where they are unsure of what will be happening, and what their
main objective will be, but

Teaching Fluency- Implications for Repeated Readings as a...
Fluency has become a widely discussed topic in education today. There are many opinions among educators and researchers on what fluency means,
and how it should be addressed in a classroom setting. I researched four articles from respected journals, and in this paper I will attempt to define
fluency and measurement tools. I will also discuss Repeated Reading as a viable strategy for teaching Fluency in the second grade classroom. I chose
this particular topic, because I felt it would be most beneficial in influencing my own literacy instruction. Fluency has been recognized by the National

Children use picture clues and predictable language to decode text. This might be classified as the emergent level for beginning readers. Progression into
stage one involves understandings about phonemic principles, such as onsets and rimes, syllables, and beginning and ending sounds. Often at this
stage, readers are observed to "sound out" every letter in a word. Automatic decoding is a hallmark of stage two, therefore, freeing up more space in
the brain for comprehension. Don't mistake this stage as being the same as reading to learn, rather is it is where the child begins to integrate
automatic reading and comprehension. Just as might be seen in the writing stages, beginning readers may be in between levels at any one time,
showing characteristics of multiple stages. In knowing the developmental stages of fluency, a teacher is better able to adjust his or her instruction to
the student. In my opinion, if a student does not master these three levels of fluency, it will be difficult for them to advance to the stage where they
derive meaning from words and have comprehension... Measurement of reading fluency has primarily been done by testing how fast one reads. Our
district is currently using DIBELS (Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills) to monitor reading fluency. In addition, second grade teachers

What Are The Advantages And Disadvantages Of A Crisis
Crisis refers to a person's reaction to a particular event. One person might be deeply affected while the other has little or no ill effects to the same
event. It presents a obstacle, threat or trauma but at the same time it gives opportunity for either growth or decline. The events that trigger a crisis
can be from a wide range of life experiences, from development hurdles such as puberty to natural disasters to the death of a loved one. When people
face a crisis, they can experience a range of physical and physiological symptoms as well as changes in their normal routines and relationships. Crisis

This stage can generally be the most challenging to achieve in crisis intervention. Clients in crisis, by definition, shortfall in the equanimity to review

stage five has been accomplished, the client in crisis has apparently worked through sufficient feelings and emotions to resume some emotional balance.
Now, the crisis interventionist and client can start to set ideas and alternatives on the table, like a no–suicide agreement or short hospitalisation to

client has found that helps in akin circumstances. Solution–focused therapy techniques, such as "Amplifying Solution Talk" (DeJong & Berg, 1998)

Personal & Team Effectiveness Individual Assessment
Introduction
Bruce W. Tuckman is an educational psychologist from Princeton University. In 1960's, he proposed Tuckman's Stages of Team Development. It is
widely known as a basis for effective team building. It is describes four stages of useful development: forming, storming, norming and performing. In
the 1970's, Tuckman and other authors have added adjourning as the fifth stage. Tuckman's model explains that as the team's growth, ability and
building the relationship. However, this is the most frequently cited if compared to the other models of group development that have been proposed.
Every team has to go through these stages so that their work can do smoothly, completely and perfectly. (Alan Chapman, 2009)

Symptoms And Treatment Of A Pressure Ulcer
A pressure ulcer is defined as "a localized injury to the skin and/or underlying tissue, usually over a bony prominence, as a result of pressure, or
pressure in combination with shear," according to the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, abbreviated NPAUP (2007). NPUAP (2007) redefined
the definition and classification of a pressure ulcer in 2007. As a result of the modification, stages I–IV, the four original stages, underwent alterations
to their existing classifications and definitions. In addition, two stages, deep tissue injury and unstageable resulted. Through an explanation and
description of the development of a pressure ulcer and the stages, the anatomy is shown. For a pressure ulcer to develop, damage to the lining of blood
and lymphatic vessels, or endothelial damage occur over a bony prominence as the result of several processes such as a disrupting and shearing force
(Gillick & Sheerin, 2004, p. 34). Once a pressure ulcer begins to develop, deep tissue damage gradually rises to shallower tissues. According to Gillick
and Sheerin (2004), the extent of damage caused by a pressure ulcer is related to the pressure and repeated pressure applications and the length of
time that a body part is exposed to pressure (p. 34). Therefore, locally reduce blood flow, which could cause complications if the endothelium is
impaired, and locally reduce oxygen levels and increase carbon dioxide levels are a direct result of irregular pressure. When the pressure is relived,

Essay on The Four Main Stages of Business
A growing business will cycle through four major stages in its development. Evolving from a one–person operation to a multi department company has
its challenges and rewards. In this paper, it will be described how each of the four stages a business may pass through will affect it. The four stages
of a business life are as follow. In stage one, the business is being created and is operated often with only one person. Stage two, organization growth,
structure and employee management can be observed. Stage three, owner's delegation of certain powers takes place. Finally, stage four, being the
creation of a more structured business, which entails the creation of policies and procedures.

As the business grows, the owner's focus will have to change from overseeing the day–to–day operations to focusing on getting investors and funding
and potentially developing new products or services. As I said earlier, since the proprietor will have staff, he/she will need experienced manager to
help them focus on the core operations of the business as said by William Weirsema: "The founder should realize that he or she can't possibly be the
best in the company at everything from marketing to finances. Functions that can't justify a full–time expert should be outsourced to professionals that
specialize. Possibilities include information systems, accounting, human resources, marketing, and engineering. Hiring a chief operating officer is
usually advisable."(1999). Hiring qualified staff and manager will help the business become more successful.
The fourth stage of business happens when the business has almost reached its full expansion. It is the stage where the owner has to make decisions on
policies, code of conduct for personnel, job descriptions as well as internal control policies just to name a few. It is also the stage where the owner
will have to decide what type of departmentation they want their organization to use. Whether it is by project, by function or by matrix this will help
the business being more efficient. Also, the founder will have to decide whether its business should be centralized or

The Impact Of Genentech On The New Biotechnology Industry
Genentech was founded in 1976 by Robert Swanson and Herbert Boyer. The company was one of the first biotechnology companies. Its mission was to
develop manufacture and commercialize biotherapeutics drugs. Genentech main focus was in areas of oncology, immunology and tissue growth and
repair. After few years of company's development, Genentech scientists successfully produced the first therapeutic proteins which involve human

Even though some individuals stay quiet, issues may still exist. All members have an increased need for clarification. Questions surrounding
leadership, authority, rules, responsibilities, structure, evaluation criteria tend to arise during the storming stage. Such questions must be answered
so that the group can move on to the next stage and our group did just that and was able to move past the storming stage. Once a group receives the
clarity that it so desperately needs, it can move on to the third stage of group development, known as the norming stage. The norming stage is the
time where the group becomes a cohesive unit. Optimism is great as group members keenly recognize the abilities, expertise and knowledge that each
member brings to the group. The group remains focused on its purpose and goal. This was experience when group members began to open up to each

Screening
Because the method of getting the word out to students about the group might bring in a lot of students, I foresee a huge need to screen the
participants. In talking to potential group members, I would want to know a few things before I approve them to be a part of the group. First, I would
like to know the characteristics they believe they have that make them nontraditional. Students might not be sure of the exact definition of
nontraditional and therefore might not be a fit for the group. Secondly, I would want to know if they would be able to make ... Show more content on

During the transition stage, I expect to experience various aspects stemming from storming–the "awkwardness about being in strange situation"
(Gladding, 2016). What I expect to experience will be described below.
Quiet storming. Because of the topic of the group, I expect members to be able to relate to each other's experiences quite easily. However, in this
stage, I am expecting there to be periods of quiet storming–where members will avoid engaging in the conversation. There might be a conflict within
them between how much they wish to share. When I see members exhibiting this type of behavior in the group, I will mention that they have been
quiet for a while and ask them if they wish to share.
Resistance. If members express resistance and are not ready to share about certain topics at this moment, I will let them know that it is okay and that
we can come back to it another time. Because the group will still be getting acquainted with one another, I do not want to push any members to share
things that they are not yet ready to share. I want to continue to build the group members' trust in me, and I feel that probing too much during this stage
can harm

Breast Cancer Staging At Cancer And The International...
Breast Cancer Staging "Breast cancer is staged using the American Joint Committee on Cancer and the International Union for Cancer Control
classification system for tumor, nodes, and metastases (TNM)" (Esserman, 2013). The first part of the tumor staging system, as seen in Table 2,
assesses that of the primary tumor itself by means of clinical breast exam and imaging studies and is represented by the letter "T" on the staging table.
Mammogram is an essential part of assessing the primary tumor, however other modalities previously discussed including ultrasound and MRI is often
essential (Esserman, 2013). Evaluating lymph nodes surrounding the breast is a crucial component of staging and is thought to be one of the most
important aspects in relation to prognosis. The letter "N" on the staging table represents this component. It is also of utmost importance to evaluate the
nodes by radiologic means because physical examination alone is indeterminate of metastasis. The last component is metastasis, represented by an "M"
on the staging table. Often, many patients with breast cancer are diagnosed with the cancer confined to the breast and without node involvement. In that
case, those patients are not often evaluated or staged for the presence of metastatic disease. However, those that do present with signs and symptoms
of metastatic disease or with locally advanced cancer (T3 or greater, N2 or N3, M0) are evaluated for this component (Esserman, 2013).

What Is Vivian Diagnosis In The Movie Wit
The movie "Wit" introduces us to a seventeenth–century English/poetry professor Vivian Bearing, who was diagnosed with metastatic stage IV
ovarian cancer. Vivian is a special patient with a deadly diagnosis, and who is interesting for doctors due to the possibility of using new treatments.
Problem with it was Vivian diagnosis was severe and she agreed to undergo tests, more experimental treatment, and more pain. We see Vivian
suffering and absence of friends and family, personally, it was really hard to see that the only person who takes care of her was one of the nurses on
staff. This was an emotional story of Vivian which at times I smiled, cried and felt angry towards some of the medical staff and disease. Experiences
with certain staff members made me upset/angry such as Dr. Kelekian. At the beginning of the movie, relaying the results to Vivian

Comfort she gave and her presence in times of loneliness, helped Vivian become less anxious during the time of her treatment (just taking time out to
listen to the patient helps in so many ways). Nurse Susie was there when it seemed as though Vivian was at her lowest moment after she continued to
be sick, she offers her a popsicle and explains why.Which lead in to the laughing moment and showing the bond between a nurse and patient. What is
impressive is that Nurse Susie cared enough to explain the progress of the treatment rendered and the end of life care the Vivian would want. Nurse
Susie took time out to explain the difference between DNI/DNR letting her know the decisions was hers. She provided information that made sense to
Vivian. What I truly relate too is when Vivian coded, that she stepped forward and made her voiced heard about what the patient wanted "No

Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia Research Paper
When someone is ill, we often look at the symptoms to diagnose the illness. We visit the doctors. The doctors may not be able to diagnose us right
away, but run tests on us. We wait to hear why we feel like we do. Meanwhile, we can even research our symptoms and try to makeup a name for our
illness. In this paper, I will discuss leukemia.
Leukemia is cancer of blood cells. More specifically, it is cancer of white blood cells. We know that white blood cells are found in brown bone
marrow. Although, white blood cells are mainly found in bone marrow, they can also be produces in lymph nodes, the spleen, and the thymus glands.

the bad cells without hurting the good ones. Chemotherapy is next. It is similar to target therapy. It's primary goal is to stop the growth of cancerous
cells. Some use biological therapy with which they transport good cells to the cancerous area to help fight bacteria. Another option is surgery. Since
some white blood cells are produced in the spleen, another option is to remove it. These are the ways doctors treat

This story is telling about Vivian's feelings, thoughts and emotions while she is suffering from eight high dosage of chemotherapy treatments for

some have called thee
Mighty and dreadful, for thou art not so,
For, those, whom thou think'st, thou dost overthrow,
Die not, poor death, nor yet canst thou kill me."
In this lines John Donne tells that Death does not have any reason to be proud. It is not scary, powerful and dangerous as people think. Death thinks

How Informatics Approaches For Effective Components And...
The goal of this solution based on the patient engagement framework is to discuss various informatics approaches for effective components/models of
care considering patients as an active participant instead of just care receivers("HIMSS Patient Engagement Framework,"). However, we need to keep
in mind that patients use multiple sources of information and media(Henwood, Wyatt, Hart, & Smith, 2003) and that there is no one set way to engage
every patient.
Let us understand what each specifies in the model and later we will discuss how informatics tools will cater to the aspects in these stages.
Stage 1: Inform Me
This is the initial stage comprising of informing patients about his health such as in our case of Lung Cancer Screening, knowing about the various
options available, what treatments have what side effects and how much of the treatment is covered by the insurance.
Stage 2: Engage Me
This stage focuses on discussing symptoms, fitness and diet tracking of the patient. In this stage the patient should have knowledge about identifying
symptoms of illnesses he is most susceptible to. Moreover, have knowledge about what preventive steps he needs to be taking. This stage is aligned
with Meaningful Use Stage 1("HIMSS Patient Engagement Framework,").
Stage 3: Empower Me
This stage focuses on giving patients access to various tools to allow him to manage his health conditions and take action about it. This stage is aligned

nurture are very involved in human development.
For counselors to provide the best counseling services to their clients they must understand all aspects of relationships and the relationship's

Reflection Of Group Development
To begin, the very first part of group development but also the class, was to form a group that you would work with throughout the whole semester.
The class discussed ways to assign group members, but ultimately, the decision was to let students pick their groups. In all honesty, I was not fond of
this idea, but I selected my group. I began by wanting one of the two boys in my group, because I wanted a male's perspective throughout the project. I
decided I wanted to work with Adam because I had witnessed him ask challenging questions and succeed in debates with previous professors, all
characteristics I thought could be beneficial at the time. With choosing Adam came Matt, because since they were the only two males in a lecture
dominated by females. Lastly, Alex decided she wanted to work with me because we had a previous class together and she stated she liked the way
I handled myself within that lecture. Once the group was all in agreeance to work together, we began to take part in small talk, such as, how old we
were, what we were studying, but mainly that we were all determined to get a high grade in this class, a comment I had taken seriously at the time and
thought was true of all members. When the class was eventually instructed to discuss topics that were of importance to us, there was no doubt that
focusing on nontraditional students and their connection to campus life was going to be the topic we focused on because it was of such importance to

Sylvia Plath Essay Lady Lazarus
__Lady Lazarus__
Sylvia Plath's Lady Lazarus is an incredible metaphor of rebirth; the whole idea of a new life from death. Plath throughout her life was suicidal and
many of her most famous works revolve around the ideas of death being a new beginning and a way of escaping enslavement from many various
factors that bind us to life. There is nothing different about this poem from all of Plath's other works. She as always represents her life troubles through
a worldly event in this case the Holocaust.
This poem is also focused around the biblical story of Lazarus. Lazarus lived with his two sisters, Mary and Martha, in Bethany. Lazarus became ill
and his sisters prayed to Jesus to save him. By the time Jesus came to save Lazarus he had ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The next three stanzas refer back to the biblical story of Lazarus. She depicts a woman with disgusting features. This goes back to the lost faith of
Martha and how she exclaimed that Lazarus would have been long been decaying and death upon him even if Jesus brought him back. Then, the next
two stanzas refer to the holocaust. She says "I have nine times to die" meaning the holocaust survivors, mainly referring to women, go through a lot
and literally die more than once and always seem to come back stronger.
The next few stanzas also refer to the Holocaust and the persecution of the Jewish peoples. "They unwrap me hand and foot..." refers to after the
Jewish people were captured and how everything they had was taken, and also to how vulnerable Plath was feeling. This indicates the beginning of her
rebirth. Followed in the next three stanzas also refer to her transformation, stating that she was the same woman after every rebirth.
The next six stanzas describe the wonder and beauty of death. Plath states that death is an art, which she happens to do well, adding to the inference
that she achieves rebirth through suicide. She begins to prove to the reader as well as herself that death is the only real thing and the only way to live.
This ties into the Holocaust metaphor because those Jewish survivors lived a better stronger life after they lived through that death. It also ties into the
biblical reference because it was only after the death of Lazarus that his sisters

Preventing Bed Sores A bed sore, also known as a pressure ulcer is known as a wound that usually arises over boney prominences due to increased
pressure in that area. Pressure ulcers are staged into stage I, stage II, stage III, stage IV, and unstageable. Today, pressure ulcers are increasing in
nursing care centers and it's becoming a problem. These sores interfere and produce pain, which can also lead to being admitted to the hospital if
severe enough. The incident rate for acquiring a pressure ulcer in older adults aged 65 and up in nursing care centers is 2.2%–28% (Spear, 2013). It is
important to prevent ulcers because infection can occur once they arise, which can lead to sepsis. It is very important to make sure nursing care centers
understand ways to prevent pressure ulcers. "An ounce of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Four Stages Of Bruce Tuckman's Model Of Group Theory
When Bruce Tuckman proposed the model of group development in 1965, the model assumed four stages which include
forming–storming–norming–performing stages. However, a fifth model was introduced to encapsulate the already functioning models and this model
became known as the adjourning phase (Bauer & Erdogan, 2009, p. 191). This group development stages will now be described below:
The first stage in the group development model is the forming stage which is a time when a group officially comes together for the first time. This
stage is full of uncertainty as members of the group do not know what role they might be asked to play and what level of behavior is accepted or not
accepted in the group. It's a time when individuals try to get acquainted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Similarly, this stage characterizes a great deal of friendship where members rely on their capability to handle a task and see it done without a leader
instructing them how to do it. This stage is also a period when group members exhibit an unconditional respect for their colleagues and even request
feedback on their level of performance in the task at hand. Apparently, it is not uncommon to have a close confidant whom personal or intimate secret
can be told. Additionally, it's at the norming stage of the group development that members introduce rules and regulation that determine the
functionality of the group. The level of energy in the group at this stage is extremely high that Bauer and Erdogan (2009) recommend that it will be
appreciated should the leader step aside and only function as a facilitator to the group whose capability is beyond bound and ready to confront tough
challenges with the confidence of scaling through without

Different Requirements For Sports Coaches
The DMSP model purpose is to identify a pathway for junior sports participants to follow. Therefore, its relevance and importance to sport coaches
who wish to be successful is substantial. This model allows coaches to identify what category their participaints are in, which enables coaches to cater
for individual's specific training needs. The model identifies that there are three possible pathways that can be followed, each of which has varying
characterisitics. The pathways are recreational participation through sampling, elite performance through sampling, and elite performance through early
specialisation (Cote & Fraser–Thomas, 2007). Each of these pathways needs to be understood by sport coaches. As the ideology upon which the DMSP
was constructed dictates coaches must be able to adapt their methods and philosophy to cater for varying stages of development. A representation of the
different requirements for each pathway is exhibited by the varying amount of deliberate play and deliberate pratice implemented throughout each stage
. O'Connor, (2009) states that through the sampling years coaches should be employing a higher level of deliberate play. Baker, Cote, and Abernethy,
(2003) state that deliberate play is vaulble in this context as it develops player perceptions of competence, which Kirk, (2005) links to continued
participation. O'Connor further expands on this notion by identifying that deliberate play aims to maximise enjoyment and creativity, which is

Collins (1995) defined Sports Development as a process in which real opportunities, processes, systems and structure are created to boost people
participation into sport and recreation or to improve their performance to any grade they wish to achieve. By that time in the UK, Sport Development
was linked to increase participation and creation of opportunities, as Collins highlights in his definition. The term has evolved and is defined by
Hylton and Braham (2008: 8) as "a term used to describe policies, processes and practices that form an integral feature of the work involved in

The authors claim that players go through three different stages in sport development: the sampling, specializing and investment years. Athletes
participate in a great number of sports in the sampling stage (less structures activities, intended to maximize enjoyment and flexible rules adapted to
age (CГґtГ© & Hay, 2002); in the remaining two stages, athletes reduce the number of sports played and focus to practice in deliberate activities
related to the sports chosen (this include more organised activities, involve effort, produce no instant rewards, and are inspired by the desire of
improving performance instead of pure enjoyment; Ericsson et al., 1993).
This developmental model of sport participation explains better why is there such drops outs and re–engagement in football than the sports
development continuum model. DMSP consider the reasons why athletes participate or not in sports either physical (i.e. training patterns) and
psychosocial (i.e. role of significant others) (CГґtГ© et al., 2003 and CГґtГ© and Fraser–Thomas, 2007). Some athletes stop their participation. The
sport development continuum model says that only some of the best ones reach the highest level of the triangle, but do not considered the ones who
decide to leave the sport in and early stage. This happens in football when because the level of competence increase,

This team application is based on the case study of Lance Armstrong, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). As a professional cyclist, Lance Armstrong

ORIGINS OF TMC cont.
Underlying assumptions of TMC: 1. No single theory accounts for all behavior change. 2. Behavior change unfolds over time. 3. Stages are both

ready for action. 6. Specific processes and principles of change need to be applied at specific stages. 7. Behavior is not random. Chronic behavior

How Alzheimer's Changed My Family
Alzheimer's is a disease that affects roughly 3 million families each year, including my own. Around this time three years ago my parents got a call
that changed our entire lives. At 3 A.M. they received a phone call from a police department, in a surrounding town, that they had pulled over my
step–grandpa, who was driving down the highway on the wrong side of the road. This was the first of many calls that my parents received in
regard to my grandfather. There were instances of him showing up to work, although he was 20 years in retirement. He would go out to eat and not
realize that he had been at the restaurant 10 minutes prior to eat. Quickly, my parents realized that something was off and medical assistance was
needed. After some series of testing, it was very clear to the doctor that Alzheimer's was the answer to his lack of memory and at the age of 86, he
was officially diagnosed with the disease. This news was hard for my entire family, and extremely hard for my step–father. Not only did the doctor
determine that Alzheimer's was causing these events to occur, but that there was a genetic link and my step–father could also carry the gene. He has
personally chosen not to test for the gene, and to continue to live his life to the fullest. As a family, this is something that has changed our lives... Show

My Experience With Kidney Cancer

  • 1. My Experience With Kidney Cancer "I have cancer" is certainly not a pleasant phrase to hear from your loved one. The night of November 22 of 2014, the same night I got back from New Orleans, I was informed my mother had been diagnosed with kidney cancer. The night started off as expected by telling my experiences from the trip, giving my family members the souvenirs I bought, and showing off the wonderful pictures I took. After the experiences were told, souvenirs were given, and the pictures were seen I could tell by the nervous tension something was wrong. I was then told to sit down because we needed to have a family discussion about the news my mother had received. The talk started by my mother saying "I have kidney cancer." then escalated to the plans of treatment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was angry my mother and family had to endure the pain, seeing the worry in my mother's eye's, and not knowing the outcome of the situation. After pondering the reasons angering me, I began to look for ways to make them positive. The positive I see for my family enduring the pain was to make us stronger not only as a family but also individually. Becoming stronger as an individual teaches us we can handle any situation with confidence. The worry in my mother's eye's gave me the motive to do everything in my willpower to consult her and help build her confidence on the situation which in return helps myself become more confident in the situation. Having more confidence in the situation led me to believe the outcome was going to work in our favor and we could put the situation behind us. Frightening thoughts may have been the hardest to find the positive in but there is always a positive in any ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Also, Amber is upset with her own boss Sarah for instigating the trouble with Lydia, but she feels she cannot tell Lydia the truth about Sarah because doing so would implicate her own boss and look like she is just trying to put the blame on someone else. Now the question is what should Amber do? How do the concepts of conflict relate to this case? Over the years, three different views on conflict have been proposed. The earliest approaches to conflict assumed that all conflict was bad and should be avoided; this was called the Traditional View. The second view, namely the Human Relations View, saw conflict as a natural occurrence, and that it was inevitable in any group, therefore it should be accepted. The third, and most recent view of conflict, it the Interactionist View, which states that conflict is an absolute necessity for a group to perform effectively. The majority of these initial confrontations may relate to the work of the group itself, or to roles and responsibilities within the group. However, most of these minor confrontations will be taken lightly or dealt with promptly. In order to progress to the next stage, group members must move from a "testing and proving" mentality to a problem–solving mentality. Hopefully, everyone will agree that the most important thing is to finish the work and agree to work together to solve their problems. It is important to note that to move on to the next stage group members need the ability to listen to each other (MacLeod, 2002). Some team members may welcome these minor squabbles in that they can reveal the real issues among the team, while others will wish they were still in the comfortable confines of forming. This is also the stage when team members will look for ways to avoid or mediate conflicts more effectively. Norming. As a team working together, we must present a plan of cohesiveness and put in place the manner of how these goals and plans will be implemented in each department. Clear, concise explanation of reasoning as to why these plans should be carried out should always be our priority as a team because everyone will not agree with the decision or want to be a part of the decision making process. The initial forming of our new team will be a challenge, but must be done strategically. Since mergers consist of different departments, we will be able to obtain individuals with various different skillsets. This is a positive because these individuals will bring in new and innovative ideas to complete the task at hand. However, this will also cause the individuals to have disagreements on their different ideas. We will need to gather the individuals and encourage open ended discussions, but still work together in order to achieve their goal. Once individuals are identified for the new team, we must bring them together in order to get know each other. At this time the team is at a point where they are unsure of what will be happening, and what their main objective will be, but ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are many opinions among educators and researchers on what fluency means, and how it should be addressed in a classroom setting. I researched four articles from respected journals, and in this paper I will attempt to define fluency and measurement tools. I will also discuss Repeated Reading as a viable strategy for teaching Fluency in the second grade classroom. I chose this particular topic, because I felt it would be most beneficial in influencing my own literacy instruction. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Children use picture clues and predictable language to decode text. This might be classified as the emergent level for beginning readers. Progression into stage one involves understandings about phonemic principles, such as onsets and rimes, syllables, and beginning and ending sounds. Often at this stage, readers are observed to "sound out" every letter in a word. Automatic decoding is a hallmark of stage two, therefore, freeing up more space in the brain for comprehension. Don't mistake this stage as being the same as reading to learn, rather is it is where the child begins to integrate automatic reading and comprehension. Just as might be seen in the writing stages, beginning readers may be in between levels at any one time, showing characteristics of multiple stages. In knowing the developmental stages of fluency, a teacher is better able to adjust his or her instruction to the student. In my opinion, if a student does not master these three levels of fluency, it will be difficult for them to advance to the stage where they derive meaning from words and have comprehension... Symptoms And Treatment Of A Pressure Ulcer A pressure ulcer is defined as "a localized injury to the skin and/or underlying tissue, usually over a bony prominence, as a result of pressure, or pressure in combination with shear," according to the National Pressure Ulcer Advisory Panel, abbreviated NPAUP (2007). NPUAP (2007) redefined the definition and classification of a pressure ulcer in 2007. As a result of the modification, stages I–IV, the four original stages, underwent alterations to their existing classifications and definitions. In addition, two stages, deep tissue injury and unstageable resulted. Through an explanation and description of the development of a pressure ulcer and the stages, the anatomy is shown. For a pressure ulcer to develop, damage to the lining of blood and lymphatic vessels, or endothelial damage occur over a bony prominence as the result of several processes such as a disrupting and shearing force (Gillick & Sheerin, 2004, p. 34). Once a pressure ulcer begins to develop, deep tissue damage gradually rises to shallower tissues. According to Gillick and Sheerin (2004), the extent of damage caused by a pressure ulcer is related to the pressure and repeated pressure applications and the length of time that a body part is exposed to pressure (p. 34). Therefore, locally reduce blood flow, which could cause complications if the endothelium is impaired, and locally reduce oxygen levels and increase carbon dioxide levels are a direct result of irregular pressure. • 22. Breast Cancer Staging At Cancer And The International... Breast Cancer Staging "Breast cancer is staged using the American Joint Committee on Cancer and the International Union for Cancer Control classification system for tumor, nodes, and metastases (TNM)" (Esserman, 2013). The first part of the tumor staging system, as seen in Table 2, assesses that of the primary tumor itself by means of clinical breast exam and imaging studies and is represented by the letter "T" on the staging table. Mammogram is an essential part of assessing the primary tumor, however other modalities previously discussed including ultrasound and MRI is often essential (Esserman, 2013). Evaluating lymph nodes surrounding the breast is a crucial component of staging and is thought to be one of the most important aspects in relation to prognosis. The letter "N" on the staging table represents this component. It is also of utmost importance to evaluate the nodes by radiologic means because physical examination alone is indeterminate of metastasis. The last component is metastasis, represented by an "M" on the staging table. Often, many patients with breast cancer are diagnosed with the cancer confined to the breast and without node involvement. In that case, those patients are not often evaluated or staged for the presence of metastatic disease. However, those that do present with signs and symptoms of metastatic disease or with locally advanced cancer (T3 or greater, N2 or N3, M0) are evaluated for this component (Esserman, 2013). Then, the next two stanzas refer to the holocaust. She says "I have nine times to die" meaning the holocaust survivors, mainly referring to women, go through a lot and literally die more than once and always seem to come back stronger. The next few stanzas also refer to the Holocaust and the persecution of the Jewish peoples. "They unwrap me hand and foot..." refers to after the Jewish people were captured and how everything they had was taken, and also to how vulnerable Plath was feeling. This indicates the beginning of her rebirth. Followed in the next three stanzas also refer to her transformation, stating that she was the same woman after every rebirth. The next six stanzas describe the wonder and beauty of death. Plath states that death is an art, which she happens to do well, adding to the inference that she achieves rebirth through suicide. She begins to prove to the reader as well as herself that death is the only real thing and the only way to live. This ties into the Holocaust metaphor because those Jewish survivors lived a better stronger life after they lived through that death. It also ties into the biblical reference because it was only after the death of Lazarus that his sisters ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 31. Preventing Bed Sore Essay Preventing Bed Sores Justine Stenberg Rasmussen College Author Note This paper is being submitted on May 28, 2017, for Justine Stenberg's NUR2115 Fundamentals of Professional Nursing course. Preventing Bed Sores A bed sore, also known as a pressure ulcer is known as a wound that usually arises over boney prominences due to increased pressure in that area. Pressure ulcers are staged into stage I, stage II, stage III, stage IV, and unstageable. Today, pressure ulcers are increasing in nursing care centers and it's becoming a problem. These sores interfere and produce pain, which can also lead to being admitted to the hospital if severe enough. The incident rate for acquiring a pressure ulcer in older adults aged 65 and up in nursing care centers is 2.2%–28% (Spear, 2013). It is important to prevent ulcers because infection can occur once they arise, which can lead to sepsis. It is very important to make sure nursing care centers understand ways to prevent pressure ulcers. "An ounce of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (2013). • 32. The Four Stages Of Bruce Tuckman's Model Of Group Theory When Bruce Tuckman proposed the model of group development in 1965, the model assumed four stages which include forming–storming–norming–performing stages. However, a fifth model was introduced to encapsulate the already functioning models and this model became known as the adjourning phase (Bauer & Erdogan, 2009, p. 191). This group development stages will now be described below: The first stage in the group development model is the forming stage which is a time when a group officially comes together for the first time. This stage is full of uncertainty as members of the group do not know what role they might be asked to play and what level of behavior is accepted or not accepted in the group. It's a time when individuals try to get acquainted ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Similarly, this stage characterizes a great deal of friendship where members rely on their capability to handle a task and see it done without a leader instructing them how to do it. This stage is also a period when group members exhibit an unconditional respect for their colleagues and even request feedback on their level of performance in the task at hand. Apparently, it is not uncommon to have a close confidant whom personal or intimate secret can be told. Additionally, it's at the norming stage of the group development that members introduce rules and regulation that determine the functionality of the group. The level of energy in the group at this stage is extremely high that Bauer and Erdogan (2009) recommend that it will be appreciated should the leader step aside and only function as a facilitator to the group whose capability is beyond bound and ready to confront tough challenges with the confidence of scaling through without ... • 33. Different Requirements For Sports Coaches The DMSP model purpose is to identify a pathway for junior sports participants to follow. Therefore, its relevance and importance to sport coaches who wish to be successful is substantial. This model allows coaches to identify what category their participaints are in, which enables coaches to cater for individual's specific training needs. The model identifies that there are three possible pathways that can be followed, each of which has varying characterisitics. The pathways are recreational participation through sampling, elite performance through sampling, and elite performance through early specialisation (Cote & Fraser–Thomas, 2007). Each of these pathways needs to be understood by sport coaches. As the ideology upon which the DMSP was constructed dictates coaches must be able to adapt their methods and philosophy to cater for varying stages of development. A representation of the different requirements for each pathway is exhibited by the varying amount of deliberate play and deliberate pratice implemented throughout each stage . O'Connor, (2009) states that through the sampling years coaches should be employing a higher level of deliberate play. Baker, Cote, and Abernethy, (2003) state that deliberate play is vaulble in this context as it develops player perceptions of competence, which Kirk, (2005) links to continued participation. O'Connor further expands on this notion by identifying that deliberate play aims to maximise enjoyment and creativity, which is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Introduction Collins (1995) defined Sports Development as a process in which real opportunities, processes, systems and structure are created to boost people participation into sport and recreation or to improve their performance to any grade they wish to achieve. By that time in the UK, Sport Development was linked to increase participation and creation of opportunities, as Collins highlights in his definition. The term has evolved and is defined by Hylton and Braham (2008: 8) as "a term used to describe policies, processes and practices that form an integral feature of the work involved in providing sporting opportunities and positive sporting experiences." Essentially sport development is about "getting more people involved into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The authors claim that players go through three different stages in sport development: the sampling, specializing and investment years. Athletes participate in a great number of sports in the sampling stage (less structures activities, intended to maximize enjoyment and flexible rules adapted to age (CГґtГ© & Hay, 2002); in the remaining two stages, athletes reduce the number of sports played and focus to practice in deliberate activities related to the sports chosen (this include more organised activities, involve effort, produce no instant rewards, and are inspired by the desire of improving performance instead of pure enjoyment; Ericsson et al., 1993). This developmental model of sport participation explains better why is there such drops outs and re–engagement in football than the sports development continuum model. DMSP consider the reasons why athletes participate or not in sports either physical (i.e. training patterns) and psychosocial (i.e. role of significant others) (CГґtГ© et al., 2003 and CГґtГ© and Fraser–Thomas, 2007). Some athletes stop their participation. The sport development continuum model says that only some of the best ones reach the highest level of the triangle, but do not considered the ones who decide to leave the sport in and early stage. This happens in football when because the level of competence increase, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 37. The Case Of Lance Armstrong This team application is based on the case study of Lance Armstrong, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). As a professional cyclist, Lance Armstrong dominated his competition, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). He was viewed as a celebrity, donating several millions of dollars for charity and was endorsed by several big name corporations, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). For the most part, he was placed on a high pedestal and praised for all of his achievements. He began riding at a young age, winning numerous local and national competitions, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). To be eligible to enter these competitions he had to lie about his age, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). At the young age of sixteen he had already established his dominance, by being named rookie of the year, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). Based on the case study, Armstrong turned professional right out of high school at the age of eighteen, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). He was picked up by the U.S cycling team, which marked the beginning of his obsession to be the best, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). I believe it was at this stage in his career which identified the true transitioning period. Prior to becoming professional, his raw natural talent was enough to distance him from the pack He was skilled and physically developed to achieve greatness, (Clayton and Fisher, 2013). His physical makeup differed from most, his body's ability to effectively use oxygen was quite amazing. According to the case study, his VO2 efficiency level ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Stages are both stable and open to change. 4. Without planned intervention, populations will remain mired in early stages. 5. The majority of at risk population not ready for action. 6. Specific processes and principles of change need to be applied at specific stages. 7. Behavior is not random. • 39. How Alzheimer's Changed My Family Alzheimer's is a disease that affects roughly 3 million families each year, including my own. Around this time three years ago my parents got a call that changed our entire lives. At 3 A.M. they received a phone call from a police department, in a surrounding town, that they had pulled over my step–grandpa, who was driving down the highway on the wrong side of the road. This was the first of many calls that my parents received in regard to my grandfather. There were instances of him showing up to work, although he was 20 years in retirement. He would go out to eat and not realize that he had been at the restaurant 10 minutes prior to eat. Quickly, my parents realized that something was off and medical assistance was needed. After some series of testing, it was very clear to the doctor that Alzheimer's was the answer to his lack of memory and at the age of 86, he was officially diagnosed with the disease. This news was hard for my entire family, and extremely hard for my step–father. Not only did the doctor determine that Alzheimer's was causing these events to occur, but that there was a genetic link and my step–father could also carry the gene. He has personally chosen not to test for the gene, and to continue to live his life to the fullest. As a family, this is something that has changed our lives...
