The Lousy-Personal Narrative
I had never liked train cars. But I got on one anyway.
It was the same way with the traveling circus, I never liked circuses. Nowhere in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine joining the circus until 2
years ago. But I did anyway, for the same reason I got on the train car.
Oliver was doing it.
Oliver was my best friend since birth. He was 4 years, 3 months, and 2 days older than me (I figured it out exactly. I had a lot of my time on my hands
nowadays.), and was basically the older brother I never had.
Oliver used to be slim and tall, his chocolate brown hair was always slicked back and out of his eyes. His skin was just a shade lighter than his hair,
and his eyes were like two pieces of coal. Dark freckles dotted around his broad nose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And me, Ambroise the lousy, followed his lead. I probably could have stopped him. I probably could have said, "Oliver, this plan is stupid." and he'd
listen. Because unlike anyone else in the whole world, Oliver took me seriously.
The only thing I did was insist to come along. Maybe it was the surge of excitement I got when I was offered to come along, or maybe it was my
concern for Oliver that pushed me to make the decision.
But after spending 2 years in the circus, I realized it was because of Oliver. It was always because of Oliver. I stole that candy bar because Oliver said
he was hungry. I smacked that kid because he called Oliver a word I wouldn't be able to repeat at home, if I had one. He didn't ask, he wouldn't ask, I
just did. There wasn't anything I wouldn't do for Oliver, even join a circus to keep an eye on him. Sitting in a cold train car that smells like a barn,
wearing a white and red striped rabbit onesie, watching at least three new girls flock around Oliver like a bunch of vultures makes me wonder if I
made the wrong choice.
Oliver was always popular with the ladies, but I know he's not interested. He can't be. Girls constantly come up to me trying to push information

Personal Narrative: The Two Protagonists Of My Life
The Two Protagonists of My Life
Just to be completely honest in the beginning I didn't really like books or writing, but she changed that. It started my freshman year of high
school. Second block, I sat in the front row. Sort of depressed, but still vividly trying to remember my last English class. Did I really remember
anything I had learned in my many years of schooling? At this point I wouldn't have to recall this until a later date. She approached me, scared
inside cool outside. Shanna Leasure she said loudly. As I look back I remember calling her Mrs. Leisure. Lol. I came up with a rhyme to remember her
name Shanna banana Mrs. Leasure is a pleasure to meet you. I have to say I really love her to the core. Only goodness rains from her ... Show more

As Neil Gaiman said "Empathy is a tool for building people into groups, for allowing us to function as more than self–obsessed individuals." They
made me feel less and less selfish. The one assignment I would have to say had the most profound effect was the stand over man. We read a book called
the book thief, the stand over man was a self–written book about a past experience in our lives. I had many things I could've written about, but the one
thing that really stuck with me was the times that Mrs. Jardine and Mrs. Leasure helped me through a difficult time in my life when I felt like
there was no point to life. A Neil Gaiman quote,, " freedom to read, freedom of ideas, freedom of communications." I wrote about how I felt like
both of these ladies saved me from being a nobody. The infamous line I always tell them, "I was lost waiting to be found". They guided me to make
the right decisions for me and to just keep being a good person because one day it'll come back to me. The true faith they bestowed in me even when I
didn't believe I was worth it. That's what keeps me going. Sometimes when I'm having a bad day just seeing them makes my day better. I am
inspired by them to further my education, to read books in the past I would have never picked up, to be intelligent and to always keep my best interest
first. "It was a gateway drug to reading and

The Dark Side Of The Black Rimmed Clock
The aroma of musty wood and rusty metal lingered in the still air as my forehead beaded with droplets of cold sweat. As I sat fidgeting on an
uneven blue chair, I absentmindedly watched as students entered small rooms with distressed emotions plastered on their anxious faces. There was
one particular student I watched from a distance as she cautiously walked into a room that was lined with tearing yellow wallpaper. Her rich auburn
blonde hair was matted down to her scalp from her sweat and I noticed her calves were shaking the tiniest bit. Her face portrayed an uneasy look as she
slowly closed the door and I gradually snapped back into focus.
Suddenly aware of how I had wasted precious time, I anxiously tapped my foot up and down ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The chair teetered back and forth from the sudden movement and I slowly trudged towards the row of doors.
"5 more painful minutes and you'll get this over with," I muttered to myself as my feet slowly dragged along the smooth checkered tile. I
approached the assistant band director and forced a tiny smile. Mrs. Sharkey was fairly normal in height and she wore a sleek royal blue skirt that
was rimmed in a fraying pom pom lace with a sheer white shirt. She wore a leather pair of sandals and her chestnut brown hair framed her oval face
that was lightly coated with blush and golden brown eyeshadow. The teacher quickly scribbled something down onto her clear plastic clipboard with a
blue ballpoint pen and pointed her index finger to a seaweed green door.
"The second door from the left is where you will be testing," she explained.
"The sheet music and scales are on the stand as well. Make sure to press the record button once to start and again to finish recording."
I nodded to her instructions while I stared at the ground and teetered from one foot to the other.
"Don't be nervous, remember, this test is only part of what we have to determine where you will move up to next year," Mrs. Sharkey reassured me,
as if she could sense all of my emotions spilling out of my body.
I quickly gave her a look of thankfulness and swiveled around to face the row of metal soundproof doors. Briefly scanning the

Write An Essay On The Most Dangerous Game
As I trot the familiar path from the locker–room to the stadium, the air begins to thicken and crackle with static. The sound of cleats scuffing along on
the pavement of the track onto the turf, with a faint cheering off in the distance is not easily recognizable inside the helmet. My heart crescendos its
beats per second as I get a glimpse of the visiting team. They form a blurry huddle on the other side of the stadium, joined by their fandom that looks
hazy like a demonsterous figure from my dreams. I try hard not to notice their fist–pumping movements.
Our own huddle is starting its formation on the sidelines in what seems to be a superpower figure that rises out the low oxygenated arm–in–arm circle
that the starting lineup has shaped. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The game allows freedom to let go of any fears or baggage I have. The game defines me. Elaborate here. The game doesn't care if I am a good
writer, proficient in English, or how many AP's I have taken. It has no concern for my size, my skin color, or what language I speak. All it cares
about is that I dance to the tempo creating a story that is all mine for those pulsating sixty minutes that I am in there keeping pace with the other
opponents that at times are afraid of me, sometimes they want to dance with me and at other times they try hard to stop the music that is playing in
my head. But the volume only gets louder and the beat becomes stronger so much so that at times I feel the game is carrying me for a moment, so that I
can actually catch my breath.
Lacrosse has become a safe place for me to connect within myself and I pour all my frustration, joy, passion, and anger into the pass, the catch, the
block or the goal. My relationship to people around me is wrapped up in the game. It has allowed me to grow and expand into something much greater
than myself and when in motion with the team, that holds me safely in its wings, I am free to

Personal Narrative: The Image Of A Homeless Woman
To most, they displayed the image of modern–day, homeless musicians who couldn't pay their bills. They were just people who tried to make money
off their music, but only created a failed career. The picture seemed set in stone. A ratty clarinet, a silver guitar, and a stand up bass sitting on a park
bench, playing to make a bucketful of cash. Granted, the image simply conveys failure; in reality, it conveys success. A gentle hearted woman, Taya,
stood on the street corner of downtown New Orleans, blasting notes and gracefully moving her worn fingers along the old clarinet. Her skin was a
smooth chocolate. Her hair a dazzling ebony. She emptied her soul and her story through the roar of her instrument. The song told the story of a young
woman who had nothing but dreams in her mind. Years of heartache and lost changed nothing in her spirit or her mind about coming to the city of jazz.
Hence, wherever Taya could, she continued to play her music, but no one seemed to hear it. On the north side of the country, a heated discussion
echoed throughout the hall of Coney Island Hospital. A man with slicked, coffee–colored hair with a glossy guitar in his hand screamed at a naive nurse.

Inexplicably, Miles seemed to have been around since the city came to be. Albeit he looked like the average older man: balding gray hair and
round glasses, Miles had the aura of mystery blanketing him. The skyline of New York spelled out his name in bright blue light; however, not a soul
had seen him outside his tower except for business and a few rare occurrences since the building planted its spot in Manhattan. Therefore, many
people spread legends of the man in the sky and his scarce outings. The tales varied from dates to murder to peaceful walks in Central Park, yet not a

Homeless Day-Personal Narrative
In summer of 2015, about the end of June, me and my friend Austen decided to go on a little walk while our parents were talking to people. It was
a hot summer day in Goddard, Kansas. We were not very sure where we were going or how long we would be gone, but we still decided to go
anyway. We were just going to walk down the street talk about random things. So we grabbed what we wanted to take with us, including our
phones, wallets and my test kit since I'm a type 1 diabetic. We also grabbed two bottles of water because it was really hot outside. "Are you about
ready to go?" I said to Austen. "Yeah, just let me tell my mom we're leaving." Austen replied. So about five minutes later we headed out the door. We

Subway was just a little ways down the street. We were both very hungry so we were hurrying to get their. A few minutes later, we finally arrived at
Subway. We couldn't wait to get something to eat as we were both very hungry. So once we got our food, we sat down and started talking about some
things that were going on in our lives. Some of the thing we talked about were things we wanted to do in the summer and some upcoming movies
and games. About thirty minutes later we left and started walking again. I started feeling kind of weird. It felt as if my blood sugar might have been
getting low. We stopped so that I could check it. It turned out that my blood sugar was low. The only reason we could think of for why it was low
was that I got too much insulin for what I had ate. Luckily there was a Wal–Mart near the next intersection ahead of us. We were going to head there so
that I could get a drink with sugar to bring my blood sugar up. So we tried to hurry but by that point I was getting pretty tired because of my blood

"Champions! Bear arms!" Christopher looked to the sound of the strong voice. When he realized that he could not see, he brought his hands to his
face. He brushed his fingers across the metal surface. Am I wearing a helmet? Its shape did not resemble any sport helmet like football or baseball. He
felt a vizor and lifted it up. He opened his eyes. His arms felt heavy. He looked at them. They were covered with metal. He felt like he was wearing
leather. He looked at himself. I'm wearing knight's armor!
He looked around. He was standing in a large field facing wooden stands draped in colorful decorations. Hundreds of strangely dressed people sat on

about to say something when a shadow blocked out the sun. Chris looked up and had his breath taken away. Mouse–nose sweared vehemently and
redrew his sword. Chris did the same. Momentarily amazed by the beauty of the sword in his hand. Chris turned to face what blocked the sun, his
face drenched in cold sweat and arms trembling at the sight. He was unable to speak. Everybody seemed to be. Finally one person broke the
silence, "Dragon!" The scaly, red beast glided majestically overhead and landed gracefully in the field. His wings sent a gush of wind all around.
Fire burned in his eyes. His voice thundered and sent chills down Chris' spine. "You will not escape my judgement this time, Holy Order!" "Holy

My dad spoke to me the morning of November 2nd "Get up. Get up. GET UP! Get out of bed if you wanna go hunt". I checked to see the time and the
clock read 4:30am. I laid in my coffin sized bunk for a minute or two, gradually climbing out by flinging one leg over the edge and then the other, and
sliding off the top as slow as a sloth. I stood up and shuffled over to the table where I plopped down across from my dad. As my uncle Kirk made
breakfast and coffee I asked my dad "Are you having a good birthday weekend?". He replied "It 's been great, now lets go get one." We all ate our
breakfast and prepared for the hunt. As I was putting on layer after layer I got a strange feeling. I did not know if I felt good or bad, so I stayed
positive and thought today would be the day. I climbed into the truck and we lumbered down the road.
After a 20 minute ride to the property, we finally reached the long dirt road that lead the designated hunting area. It was only a few minutes down the
road, but it felt like forever. Once we go to the where we parked the truck, I got out, got my boots, put on my pack and grabbed my gun. I was ready
for the day. At about 5:30 am my dad and I were on our way to the edge of the woods. We walked about a half a mile to where we were going to hunt
that day. We saw two trees that were next to each other and decided that location provided the best opportunity. We moved the leaves from around the
base of the trees, strategized a game plan and settled into

Gideon's Narrative Analysis
"Any beer?"

"Any coca cola?"
"No sir."
"Did his pocket bulge?" Turner goes on.
"No sir"
"Well, now we have just heard what Mr. Gideon said, 'that if anybody asked you haven't seen him' is that right?"
The jury hears Mr. Pike respond to turners question with a "Yes sir."
"Now tell me have you ever had Mr. Gideon in your cab before?" says Turner.
"Yes sir," Pike answers back.
"And had he ever said that same thing to you' if anybody asked you haven't seen him'?"
"Yes sir"
"Has he ever told you why?"

"Well tell the court what he said to you on those occasions"
"Well, Mr. Gideon's had wife trouble, women trouble on occasion. And he didn't want anyone knowing his personal business."

Mr. Turner.
Once again it didn't take long before the jury came back from the deliberation room, hands their verdict to the bailiff, who hands it to the Judge to real

Gideon was a common man, a man like many who was convicted of committing a crime without being given the ability to have equal rights to defend
his liberty with due process of law and therefore went into his first trial not knowing where to begin in questioning the witnesses on the stand, hence
being found guilty without a fair and balanced trial. Nevertheless, from Gideon's fight for truth during the 2 years, he spent in prison is what changed
the whole course of legal history in America.

The Battle Of A Death Sentence
The spectators watched as the Goddess and the newcomer engaged. Listened to the metallic ring of weapons clashing, the sounds of destruction and
felt the bloodlust that emanated from the two rapidly grow stronger. It filled the air, made the hairs on their arms and the back of their necks rise.
Each clash sent waves of power rippling through the entire arena, created gusts of winds strong enough to knock them down. It was a once in a
lifetime opportunity and very likely more dangerous than any war they 'd ever fought. Just staying to witness the clash was tantamount to a death
sentence. However, it was too entrancing to walk away from. They were warriors who served under the Goddess Nanaja, they worshiped the ground

worth battling or rather he had found her, her desire for the fight was immense and finally he 'd shown up. She felt as if she 'd been starved and
finally offered a taste of something that could fully satisfy her.
Yes. A true warrior had finally come. Her senses were alive and tingling with expectation of what was to come.
She shifted her body in the air so that her feet were aimed at the stands instead of her head. She saw him whirling a chain above himself, she knew
what he intended to do but she wouldn 't make it that easy. She watched as he threw the chain straight at her, with the slightest shift of her body she
kept it from ramming into her and instead grabbed the chain with one of her hands. A second later her feet hit the stands and her knees bent with the
force. In that brief moment she yanked hard on the chain causing him to jerk forward slightly giving her, her opening. Immediately following that she
pushed off from the stands and hurtled straight back at him. The force of it caused the stands to crumble to pieces as another section of the arena was
destroyed. She aimed right for him and before he could recover she flipped her sword and rammed the pommel of her blade hard into his abdomen and
he fell back a few feet. Moving forward she brought her leg up and kicked him square in the chest with

Essay on The Stand
The Stand by Stephen King was a very detailed, and engulfing story about a possible end to mankind. This "extermination" is caused by a man–made
variation of the flu that is 100% fatal and spread through the air. It wipes out 99% of the world's population in a month, leaving around 1 million
people in the entire United States. The story is about how the population is split between good and evil and the battle that goes on between the two
colonies. The story is presented from many different point of views, because there are around ten to fifteen different main characters.
Of all the characters, Harold Lauder is probably the most interesting and developed in the whole story. His personality changes drastically ... Show more

Once the plague comes through however, Harold becomes very depressed, and starts to go crazy. Franni is there to calm him down and the two
join together to try to search for other survivors. Harold was excited, it was his perfect chance to finally spend time with Franni, but fate would
have it that the first group they found had a man that Franni fell in love with. His name was Stu Redman and Harold hated him immediately. He
decides to hide all of this though, and what a good job he does. Harold turns into the nicest guy you'll ever meet, always willing to lend a helping
hand. He becomes great friends with Stu. Everyone starts to enjoy his company, though he hates all of them. This is about the time he starts to be
overcome by the devil. Through his great ego, he plots to kill as many people as he can of the good, then switch over to the evil side. All these mood
swings are mixed together to make a very unstable and untrustable character in Harold Lauder.
I give The Stand an eight out of ten rating. I thought the book was very good, but Stephen King went a little overboard in the details. The book was
extremely long, and had page after page of in–depth descriptions that really don't need to be

Witness for the Prosecution
The mystery, "Witness for the Prosecution", was produced in 1957 by Arthur Hornblow, Jr. and directed by Billy Wilder. The two lead male actors
were Tyrone Power as Leonard Vole and Charles Laughton as Sir Wilfrid Robarts. The lead female actor was Marlene Dietrich as Christine Helm.
"Witness for the Prosecution" superbly demonstrated a realist view of the operating procedures in a courtroom. The actors within the courtroom were
easy to identify, and the steps transitioned smoothly from the arrest to the reading of the verdict. The murder trial of Leonard Vole provided realistic
insight into how laws on the books are used in courtroom proceedings. With the inferior elements noted, the superior element of the court system in

The defense for Vole was nonexistent until a stranger provided damaging evidence against the prosecution's most damaging witness.
For the defendant to be found guilty of murder, the burden is placed on the prosecutor "to prove the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt"
(Neubauer & Fradella, 2014, p. 33). In other words, the prosecutor, Mr. Myer must present a strong case to satisfy thejury "that charges against the
defendant are almost certainly true" (Neubauer & Fradella, 2014, p. 35). When the trial started, the evidence was strong enough for a guilty verdict.
The prosecution had three witnesses to support the claim that Vole killed Emily French. The first witness, Inspector Hearne, provided the court with
blood evidence on the sleeve of Vole's jacket; however, during cross
–examination, Sir Wilfrid disputed the evidence because Vole's blood type was not
excluded as the donor. The second witness was Janet McKenize, Mrs. French's hard of hearing housekeeper, who stated she heard Vole and Mrs.
French talking on the night of the murder; nevertheless, during cross–examination, Sir Wilfrid discredited her testimony when he proved to the jury that
she was hard of hearing. The climax of the prosecution came when Mr. Myers, after objections by Sir Wilfrid, called Christine Helm, Vole's wife, tothe
stand. Christine was thought to be the wife of Vole but provided

Descriptive Essay On A Haunted House
"Life is not measured by how many breaths you take, but by the moments that take your breathe away." – Dr. Maya Angelou. To others this quote may
spark an image of a serene beach overlooking a breathtaking sunset, but to me, this quote entails my fond memories of going to a haunted mansion and
school field trip off to the wilderness. The chilly October breeze brushed our faces, while twinkling stars studded the night sky.
My bucket was up to the rim and the chances of getting a cavity were higher. I was trick–or–treating with couple of friends, and we had arrived at our
last stop: Alpine's haunted mansion. "This going to be easy" boasted Mia. We all stared at her. "What? You just have look at anything that's moving,
and tell it who's boss." she advised. We were waiting see who was going to actually stand their ground.
Walking down the steep incline, our path lit by the bright lights of police cars.
This can't be good I thought anxiously.
Before us was a pitch black metal gate, and we knew once we stepped forth, we couldn't turn back until we had our candy
Clutching my bag, I made my way to the candy stand. Eery music drifted around us, while my eyes preyed on every movement. To reach the candy
stand, there was a stone path, stretching a good thirty feet from the entrance. At either side of the path there were rows of lights revealing the still ethos
of skinny trees. "Did you guys hear something?" Shivani stammered.
We stopped and listened. Nothing.

The Springfield Noreasters Maximizing Revenues in the...
Business Overview
From: Marketing Consultant
To: President, General Manager Bob Cortez and Board Directors
A new Class A minor league baseball team called the Nor'easters is coming to Springfield, MA. News around town was that another professional
sports team, the Falcons, was having trouble drawing revenue. Since the Nor'easters are a new team it'll be challenging for them to draw fans.
Springfield is located 90 miles away from Boston and is the third largest city in Massachusetts. Springfield had lost many high wage residents
resulting in 3.6% drop in average wages since 1990. Median income of a family of three was $37,800 and median household income was $31,046.
Springfield Nor'easters would need to bring die–hard ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This idea would be a great alternative since it brings in more fans and revenue without using many seats to do so and also increases the Springfield
Nor'easters entertainment value and name as a fun location for kids. In addition to fun, we'll sell food from concession stands or cater to the parties
needs. We would designate a section of the stadium for large groups to rent if they just want to sit down and watch the game. These sections in the
stadium are located in the left and right field lines of the stadium oppose of each other. Space is plentiful as we estimate attendance to increase. Kid's
parties may bring in 20–30 students in their class along with 2 parents. This will increase attendance an estimated 60–90 people per party. If you
include siblings, friends, or facility members, attendance can potentially amount to over 100/party. An estimated 100 in attendance with an average
concession stand rate of $11–$13/person can amount to roughly to $1,100–$1,300 in increase revenue not including the rental of the party zone location.
Solution 2:
Shuttle service Another solution consists of providing shuttle buses for college students as the case provided students didn't have proper transportation
to the baseball stadium. To fill in stands at the stadium I recommend we discount these tickets for students since they don't really have a lot of money
to spend.

Reflection Paper On Spirit Of Giving
The Spirit of giving requires to give time and loyalty to any activity that helps better our community or other humane things around us. I
participated in helping to make a charity walk for Crohn's and Colitis successful with a couple of my peers. So much happened in six hours of
volunteering it began with confusion of what to do to lots of fun with the children I was interacting with in my stand. A charity walk was the
perfect way to feel involved into the community, I received a very meaningful experience while I was helping out at the charity walk. I am proud
to say that I enjoyed my time organizing awareness of Crohn's and Colitis and involving with my community. There was so much confusion from
me at the beginning when I got to the setting of the charity walk which was at Woodward park. I was eager to find out what I was going to do
while at the charity and how I was going to feel involved with the activity. As time passed I began to feel more comfortable and not at all shy and
bored. There was actually points when I got lost in what I was supposed to be doing at the moment but I began to just go with it, it was so easy
because I had a children's stand which I like to interact because they're so sweet. This experience was all about the gratefulness I felt while
volunteering and how happy I was to participate in a charity walk for a good cause. Honestly I've never felt this helpful to spread awareness of a cause
that needs so much help to be known much more and funded. The only thing that actually mattered was feeling passionate about volunteering in this
walk and I put so much effort into this activity. I volunteered for six hours although it felt asthe time passed really quick due to how much I loved
working at the children's stand. I helped set up all the different stand from the beginning when nobody has arrived. There was so much action while
trying to set up everything perfectly and trying to make it look extra presentable for the participants in the walk. The stand my peers and I put extra
work was our own and we set up fun games to entertain the children. The children had so much fun when my peers and I would paint their faces with
different designs we had and they kept coming back. Not only

Personal Narrative: The Harlem Fundraiser
This year two of my community service activities went towards setting up for chapel and participating in a fundraiser for Upper Nyack Elementary
School. Both of my events took place in the Bowman Gymnasium; however, the chapel set up took place on Monday November 14th for an hour,
and the fundraiser event took place on Sunday, November 20th for five hours and fifteen minutes. I didn't dedicate too much time helping set up
chapel in the gym, so I'm going to write about my other community service opportunity. The Harlem Wizards, who are also known for their slogan
"Tricks, Hoops and Alley Hoops", sponsored the fundraiser. The group of Harlem Wizards was called the "Swoop Team." They're a group of six men
who put on a world–class, high–flying and interactive basketball show for people all over the world. They were playing against some of the teachers
from the school. When the Harlem Wizards arrive, we started to unload their truck into the gym. The boys and girls basketball team worked together

Short Story : A Narrative Story
I slowly opened the door of our cottage, being careful not to awake Mama. I looked across the stone road and saw the door of Ciara's cottage
slowly open. We meet eyes and join in the middle of our stone path as we start heading towards the village. Everything is quiet this early in the
morning, and we don't wish to disturb that silence, so we are quiet. She looks into my eyes again and starts moving a little quicker, into almost a
gallop and turns to face me. "We'll never make it going this slowly." she whispers, excitement in her eyes. I let out a laugh, but shake my head with
a smile, and she falls back into step with me. It's too early to be running through the village. We hear a rooster from a nearby farm crow, and almost
simultaneously the village around us seems to wake up. Ciara and I start to speed up, until we are in the forest between our cottage and the market. We
start to slow down as we reach the clearing. The sun shines through the thick brush overhead and we slowly sit down, letting out a quiet sigh. Relieved
that we didn't run into anyone in the square, we reached our destination and relaxed. We heard rustling in the bushes behind us, but dismissed it since
the forest was swarming with chipmunks and wildlife. The rustling continued in the background, like a quiet pizzicato, we knew it was there but it
didn't alarm us. Then, a line of ducklings emerged from the brush, one emerging after the other, like that of a round. We sit there watching the ducklings

Stand Your Ground Laws Are Relevant For American Society...
'Stand Your Ground' laws have been at the center of escalating deliberation, mainly after the law was applied in a number of exceedingly–broadcasted
events (Auerbach, 2015, p.1). Stand Your Ground law is a term for a "type of self–protection in which an individual is legally allowed to defend his or
herself against a threat or perceived threat against their life; law requires that individual be in a place he or she is lawfully allowed to be (Long,
N.D.)." The debate concentrated on whether Stand Your Ground laws justifiably serve to protect the public. The laws are relevant to American society's
perception on self–defense. On February 26, 2012, one of the cases that made a disturbance in many communities occurred. George Zimmerman, a
neighborhood watchman in Sandford, Florida called police to report a suspicious individual in the area. According to a Feb. 7, 2016 CNN report, while
Zimmerman is on the phone with a dispatcher, the dispatcher "asked him if he was following the teen. When Zimmerman replied that he was, the
dispatcher said, 'We don 't need you to do that.' Zimmerman was instructed not to get out of his SUV or approach the person", but Zimmerman
disregarded the instructions given to him by the police dispatcher (CNN, para.4). Zimmerman's neighborhood watch organization was not registered
with the National Neighborhood Watch program, but was set up with the assistance of the Stanford Police Department. Donald O

Deicy: A Short Story
Worst of it all is that you would think that you'd be best friends forever, unbreakable and partners in crime...Alas, that's not the case. The worst of it all
is that you'd expect something other than the same old cliche crap. But that is not the case.
Do you want to know the reality of it? Absolutely nothing.
What? Did you expect something? A big cat–fight? If it's a girl then, yeah, but it is nonexistent.
You know how they say "not everyone is who they say they are" They're so damn right! It is just a pile of crap! It just uses nothing but senseless
words to describe it! In fact, the great message of words is not even enough for it!
Resent and a bucket full of words unsaid. Two–faced, I got it. Trust me.

Our major pass time from our busy life, is going for a movie in our small city Concord. Even through begin a nutrition student I used to eat a lot from
snack bar inside the theater. But often I used to be sick because eating this junk foods such as butter popcorn and soda. Sad thing about this is there
is only a limited options and foods from outside is not permitted. There is no variety in this theater. Our aim is to change the normal snacking pattern
seen in movie theater. Our plan is provide healthy snacks and drinks in theater using ingredients from local produce. This helps in improving or
change the snacking habit or pattern among the customers in the theater. Usage of local farm produce ingredients we are able to give good organic
foods to the customers. This helps the customers as well as the local farms. By using seasonal ingredients it helps in cost effective. We are also
planning to provide small talks about nutritious food choices and quizzes or games inside the theater for free. Thereby, it also help the customers to
take something to home also about the nutrition. During the summer holidays the government of city concord have a 'Summer Kids Movie Series",
in which children of age between five to 10 years can watch movie for 3 to 5 dollars in the same above theater. We believe that summer time is best

The Halloween Carnival : A Story Of A Fairy Story
"I am so excited for the carnival!" Penelope exclaimed. School had just ended, and Darcie and her friends were walking to Penelope's house to get
ready for the big Halloween carnival. Only ages 13 and older were allowed. "Yeah, totally..." Darcie agreed. She had wanted to go trick–or–treating, but
her friends had claimed that they were too old for it. "Only babies go trick–or–treating," Darcie's friends had told her. "Besides, we can finally get into
the carnival!" The arrived at Penelope's door, and Penelope took a pink key out of her pocket. She put it in the lock, and there was a click as the door
unlocked. "I get the bathroom!" Marie called as they rushed inside. Darcie took her red riding hood costume out of her backpack. They were all going
to be fairy tale characters. Penelope was going to be Cinderella, Marie was going to be Gretel, and Amy was going to be Sleeping Beauty.
Penelope and Amy had bought the costumes. "You'll pick the baby costumes," Amy had replied when Darcie asked to come. "We can pick out the
costumes that actually match our age." Darcie's costume had clunky red high heels, a short red dress with a red leather belt and a small cloak that
stopped just below her shoulders. The dress was too tight and the shoes pinched her toes, but Darcie didn't complain. Once everyone had their
costumes on, Penelope lead them into her room. "Darcie, where's your makeup?" Penelope asked disapprovingly. "Was I supposed to bring makeup?"

Use Specific Examples To Identify Weaknesses That Existed...
1. Use specific examples to identify weakness that existed in the internal control environment at BISD. Based on the identified weaknesses, what
improvements to the control environment would you recommend?
A. Inadequate documentation is a weakness that existed in the internal control environment. The donors of the scholarship fund that expressed where
they wanted their money to go, should have document with the school scholarship committee. The recommendation that I would recommend is that
there be a certain teacher over the scholarship committee. Monthly reports should be given to the principle, and the assistant superintendent for
curriculum and instructions. When a scholarship is given the principle and assistant superintendent for curriculum and instructions should all be
notified. If the donor wished that the money would go to someone in a certain program they also should be notified.
B. Inadequate separation of accounts. All three the scholarships donations, the school fess, and the concession stand should have their own accounts.
The recommendation that I would offer would be, to give each of the activity their own account. The fees and the on campus concession stand should
not be going in the same activity account nor should they be going into the booster club funds.
C. Inadequate design of monitoring controls. There were really no monitoring controls at all. Lambert had the ability to override. The recommendation
that I would offer is, have a teacher be over the

Getting involved with the community may be easier than you think. It can be as easy as going outside and cleaning around the community or going
to a local sports game and help with concession stands. It may take some thinking outside the box, but being a member of the community is easier
than you may think. Local sports games are going on almost all the time. With a bunch of fans supporting the team playing. Sooner or later those
people are going to get hungry and want something to snack on. So, they go to the concession stand to get food. Concession stands can always use
helpers. People always want to watch the games their child is playing in or just there to support. They don't want to sit in a concession stand where

Personal Narrative : A Personal Essay On Hunting
As a St. James middle school boy, I was all about hunting, even though I hadn't ever been. My dad, being the awesome guy that he is, said he'd take
me if I genuinely wanted to go. Little did I know, my dad had been studying up for this on YouTube because he knew the worst part comes after you
shoot a deer and have to clean it. He watched video after video learning how to properly clean a deer before you take it to a shop for it to be processed.
The only thing that I knew I wanted to do was shoot a deer!
That next weekend, we went to Lynnville on an early October morning. I could not believe it was all actually happening. I had been wanting to do
this for so long and I was certain nothing could get in my way. As we made the half hour drive there, I had the window down with the fresh, chilled
air blowing in my face. I kept thinking about war movies wondering if I would freeze once I saw the large brown animal standing before me and not
be able to shoot. The biggest thing I worried about consisted of not letting my old man down. He handed over his time to come out there with me and
I wanted to make sure it was well worth it.
When we finally arrived it was still pitch black out and I was more than ready to get up in our stand and listen for any sound. We started to make
our way up a very large hill in the middle of the woods to reach our rally point at the top. I noticed that not too long after we left the truck I had
started shaking. I tried to make myself stop, but I just couldn't. After we had gotten settled into our stand, the sun had just began to rise. Everything
was happening too fast. I told myself to close my eyes and relax. To a certain extent, this did help calm me down a lot. All of a sudden, I felt my
dad gently tapping on my leg, and I opened my eyes to see a doe standing about fifty yards out between two trees. I slowly raised my gun to take
aim and realized I had started shaking again. I decided to aim for the center of the animal and not think about it. After I got most of the nerves out of
the way I took aim and BOOM!! The deer took off running and I felt almost certain I had missed it.
My dad and I had gotten out of the stand and began our journey looking for it. Inside

"We found out that today's fire wasn't an accident, but an Arson."
Fernando stood there with confusion in his eyes. He didn't understand why someone would do that. The rain started to pick up intensity. The officer

"What apartment number did you live in?" Fernando then replied,

Personal Narrative: The Opal Inn
The road, or more appropriately, the path leading the town of Opal essentially consisted of dirt and jagged pebbles. Needless to say it wasn't the most
favored road amongst the neighbors, especially those with wagons as the wheels consisting of flimsier spokes would often break or create a hitch. I
didn't so much have an issue with taking the path, aside from the semi–agonizing distance, as I was wearing my work boots, but it was honestly still an
eyesore. However, I enjoyed the views of both the left and right side of the path. They were both rolling hills coated with lush oceans of green, despite
the recent frigid weather as they defied the norm associated with the winter season. It was truly transitioning into a beautiful day, allowing the... Show

wagons had absolutely no hope of moving a mere four inches without hitting a pedestrian. Up to that point of my being in Opal, I failed to see

Classroom Reflection
At Rolling Green, many areas are used for gym classes now. The temperature recently just rose to the mid–60s. Before the temperature rose, students
would participate outside on the schools tennis court, around the baseball diamond, and sometimes the old soccer field. Now, students are
participating in the small gym towards the middle of the school building. This helps make it easier for students who didn't dress for the cold weather
stay warm. As well as not fully protecting students, but avoiding possibility for children to get sick due to extreme climate change. In this reflection, I
will give a brief description of the physical arrangements in the physical education classroom inside. I will then give a description of routines and
procedures. Next, I will talk about one of the instructors grouping strategies and activities that stuck out to me the most. Finally, I will speak about one
change I would make, and why I would make that change.
To begin with, the inside physical education classroom is extremely small. Normally there will be two classes in the room at one time, which leads to
the instructors dividing the room up with the middle door. When the gym is divided, the left side just has a stage and volleyball nets taking up a small
percentage of space. On the other side of the divided room, there are chairs, volleyball polls, and tumbling mats cluttering the rooms space. Normally
the Instructor will try to move extra items out of the way as much as possible. If students have to run, then the items are moved to the four furthest
corners of that side of the room. Other times the extra items will be placed in the instructors personal office, or even the equipment storage room. On
both sides of the gym, there are posters all over the walls to motivate the students to be healthy, happy and enjoy life t the fullest. There are also some
pictures of students with their instructors, and more photos of students in uniforms for certain sports.
A daily routine for all of my instructors students, would be to come in the classroom and stand in order by their last name. The instructor has already
made groups for the students, there are normally 4, but no more than 5 students to each row. After the students get into

It all began on November 3, 2015 during my first middle school basketball tournament. The grey brick walls of the gymnasium looking more like a

Frances Ha Essay
Frances Ha, released in 2012, is a film primarily focused on a young quirky white girl named Frances who lives in New York City and is trying to
figure out what she is supposed to be in her life. The film is edited together as a series of montages that display her appealing character moving
through a dark period in her life where she is having trouble functioning as an adult, to where she discovers and embraces what is in herself that she
excels at. Nearly all of the scenes in the film have Frances as the lead subject, only cutting away from her to show activities that are proceeding
around her. Greta Gerwig's unique professional career and personal life made her perfect for the lead role as Frances, a character full of hopefulness,
spontaneity and quirkiness. Although Greta's performance appears on the surface to be improvisational, an examination of her background, use of
body language and representational dialogue shows that she is more of a method actor. When Greta is playing Frances, she uses the technique of

Personal Narrative Essay: The Football Game
As I strolled down the sidewalk to get into the football game, I saw three boys talking and throwing a football around. The boys were throwing the
fully aired football lightly, fast, and even on occasion short to mess with the receiver. Other fans were also walking to the entrance to watch the football
game. They gathered their blankets, jackets, and mittens to stay warm while watching the big game. The most noticeable things to me at the football
game were the people and things surrounding me.
Now walking through the entrance gates, I paid my entrance fee and received a program of information about the players. While going to hang up a
mustang flag, I noticed that there were two programs on the ground already. On the side of the fence, there were about five flags when I went to hang
my older brothers' up. On one side of the flag, there was one that was hung up tightly and on the other side, it was loose. There were now four mustang
flags hung up together, and two were scattered along the fence.
As I went up to the top of the stands, I notice two programs in the stands too, before the game even started. Some popcorn from the concession stand

Descriptive Essay On Hunting
This was my first deer season. I had gone hunting before, but this was deer hunting. I had to change everything about my tactics. Instead of sitting on
the ground behind a bush like I had done before turkey hunting, this time I would be sitting in a tree. I was high up in the tree. I knew that if I were to
drop anything out of this stand it would be a pain for me to retrieve it. I got into the stand far before the light of the sun could warm the freshly snowed

taking off into a new point of view. I sat down on the platform and started to pull my backpack up that I had tied to a rope on the ground. My body
was tired from walking to the stand in all my gear. I took my coffee out of my bag to hopefully warm my body. An hour had passed, but it had felt like
the earth around me had not moved. Everything was silent and still. Deer are quiet when they walk. I felt the gust of wind blow down my neck. The
hair on my neck stood straight as I grabbed my coffee to warm up. It was still silent, but as the sun rose I could hear singing in my head. The warm
glow of the morning sun painted the snow a shimmering orange. Birds began to chirp and swoop down from the trees to scavenge for seeds. I

Fifteen minutes. That's one stand rotation at the pool. I climb up the white, grooved ladder rungs of the lifeguard stand. One, two, three, turn around,
sit down. I slip off my shoes, exposing the painfully obvious tan lines on my feet. With the rescue tube strap tossed over my head and arm, and the
tube resting on my lap, ready to go, I bring the red whistle to my mouth. A shrill, rolling sound is released: a signal to every family in the
neighborhood that the day has officially begun. The pool is open. The first fifteen minutes.
The relentless sun of two summers' of work has faded away the thrilling newness of climbing up the lifeguard stand. My first day on the job, I relished
the climb, overwhelmed by responsibility and glory. Fifteen minutes flew by that day. Growing up, the lifeguards at my neighborhood pool were
viewed as celebrities by the younger kids. My friends and I admired how incredibly cool and intimidating they were. Their lifeguard stands, in our eyes,

Tossing his cash on the table, he snatches up a program and quickly makes his way to a nearby table to study his newly purchased information. Just

Community is defined as a group a people living in an area under the same conditions. Realistically, a community is so much more than this definition.
It is people and their different beliefs that form a community. In the town of Milagro, Amarante Cordova, Ruby Archuleta, and a town coming together

Amarante Cordova is one of the oldest people in Milagro, but age does not always carry wisdom; it comes with experience. Amarante has

folding chair. I grasped the underside of my rifle with my left hand and let it rest on the edge of my stand. The farm sat squarely in Audrain County.
A little spit of untamed land. A tan square dotted with gray forest. To the west, there were farms and ranchland. To the east a ways was a corporate
feed lot. Hereford and Angus cattle would be shipped in from ranches across the state and fattened up in preparation for slaughter. The nearest sliver of
civilization was twelve

NHS Essay: What I Will Do For NHS
What I Will Do for NHS
I am greatly honored to be one of the students that are eligible to be a member of the National Honor Society. It shows me that I have worked very
hard to get here and I am proud. This organization plays a big part in our society and I believe I can help to continue what is being done to improve
our community. As a matter of fact, I have been looking forward to this since my first year ofhigh school. I feel like I deserve this honor because I
believe that I have the qualities of National Honor Society: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. I have the characteristics of scholarship. The
National Honor Society is known for admitting the greatest of students. I maintained an average of A– throughout my high school career ... Show more

I volunteer and participate in activities to better the community and my surroundings. Over the last three years, I have spent many hours working on
our class activities including homecoming festivities. I worked nearly every concession stand that my class sponsored last year and a few concession
stands that the clubs I'm a part of sponsored. For the last four years, I've been a member of the Eisleben Lutheran Church. In these four years, I've
read scriptures to the congregation, participated in teaching during Vacation Bible School, and volunteered at dinners to raise money. I also helped
the Speech and Debate club host a meet for other schools. For National Honor Society, I will volunteer for activities for my school and community
without compensation. Over all, it is a privilege that I am a student that has the opportunity to become a member of the National Honor Society. I
consider myself qualified for the National Honor Society in the areas of, scholarship, leadership, character, and service. I hope to continue to work
hard to be my very best and become a member of the National Honor

I–L–L–I–N–I Basketball
How often have you heard the chant I–L–L–I–N–I? Here on the campus I hear this chant a lot in support of school sprit. This chant is widely used
throughout the university at most sporting events and I have personally heard the chant at highly populated social gatherings. This university renowned
chant when implemented at the sports aspect is a great crowd pleaser and I am pretty sure it hypes up our home team to a certain extent. I've recently
attended the Men's basketball home game against Wisconsin on March 2nd, 2013 to witness this chant first hand but primarily I attended the game in
regards to evaluating the event from a consultant's perspective.

My ticket cost was about eleven dollars because I sat in the C level, while the B level was 25 dollars, and the A level was 40 dollars for a ticket. As I
stated earlier there was a special package deal, which consisted of four C level tickets for 50 dollars because of the 50th anniversary of assembly hall.
Once entering the building you have more ticketing attendants who rip off stubs on both the main level and upper level of the arena.
Three different levels classify the seating in the Assembly hall. The first level is floor seating, the second level seating is about the first 30 rows,
and while the last and last highest level are rows 40 going back towards the top of the structure. I think that the idea behind the seating structure
was to create the most possible seats for fans. There are over 16,000 seats at Assembly Hall. There were ushers at the opening of each seating
sections that were labeled by numbers. The usher directed me towards my seat without me asking which were only a few rows before top row of
is seats in the building. It was easy gaining access due to the labeling of the rows and seat numbers on the side of the stairs as you walk up them.
Towards the end of the game I conversed with an usher. She was very enthusiastic and knowledgeable of other areas of the arena. She stated that she
had been working at Assembly hall for years and really enjoys helping people. The seats were not that

Cole Beasley Research Paper
Cole Beasley aka "Cole World" (as most Cowboys fans like to call him) is one of the much underrated WR on offense. It's an understatement on how
important he is to this offense. The Cowboys showed how important he is by signing Beasley to a four year deal worth 13.6 million with
seven–million guaranteed with four–million signing bonus. Since DeMarco Murray left to go signed with that team in Philadelphia there have been
questions on who would the Cowboys would rely on those second –and– fives, or third – and – fives. What people fail to realize about last season was
how the Cowboys utilized Cole Beasley on third down situations. Beasley is so electric with the ball in his hands that it's hard to tackle him because
nine times out of ten he gains

The Lousy-Personal Narrative

  • 1. The Lousy-Personal Narrative I had never liked train cars. But I got on one anyway. It was the same way with the traveling circus, I never liked circuses. Nowhere in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine joining the circus until 2 years ago. But I did anyway, for the same reason I got on the train car. Oliver was doing it. Oliver was my best friend since birth. He was 4 years, 3 months, and 2 days older than me (I figured it out exactly. I had a lot of my time on my hands nowadays.), and was basically the older brother I never had. Oliver used to be slim and tall, his chocolate brown hair was always slicked back and out of his eyes. His skin was just a shade lighter than his hair, and his eyes were like two pieces of coal. Dark freckles dotted around his broad nose ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And me, Ambroise the lousy, followed his lead. I probably could have stopped him. I probably could have said, "Oliver, this plan is stupid." and he'd listen. Because unlike anyone else in the whole world, Oliver took me seriously. The only thing I did was insist to come along. Maybe it was the surge of excitement I got when I was offered to come along, or maybe it was my concern for Oliver that pushed me to make the decision. But after spending 2 years in the circus, I realized it was because of Oliver. It was always because of Oliver. I stole that candy bar because Oliver said he was hungry. I smacked that kid because he called Oliver a word I wouldn't be able to repeat at home, if I had one. He didn't ask, he wouldn't ask, I just did. There wasn't anything I wouldn't do for Oliver, even join a circus to keep an eye on him. Sitting in a cold train car that smells like a barn, wearing a white and red striped rabbit onesie, watching at least three new girls flock around Oliver like a bunch of vultures makes me wonder if I made the wrong choice. Oliver was always popular with the ladies, but I know he's not interested. He can't be. Girls constantly come up to me trying to push information ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 2. Personal Narrative: The Two Protagonists Of My Life The Two Protagonists of My Life Just to be completely honest in the beginning I didn't really like books or writing, but she changed that. It started my freshman year of high school. Second block, I sat in the front row. Sort of depressed, but still vividly trying to remember my last English class. Did I really remember anything I had learned in my many years of schooling? At this point I wouldn't have to recall this until a later date. She approached me, scared inside cool outside. Shanna Leasure she said loudly. As I look back I remember calling her Mrs. Leisure. Lol. I came up with a rhyme to remember her name Shanna banana Mrs. Leasure is a pleasure to meet you. I have to say I really love her to the core. Only goodness rains from her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As Neil Gaiman said "Empathy is a tool for building people into groups, for allowing us to function as more than self–obsessed individuals." They made me feel less and less selfish. The one assignment I would have to say had the most profound effect was the stand over man. We read a book called the book thief, the stand over man was a self–written book about a past experience in our lives. I had many things I could've written about, but the one thing that really stuck with me was the times that Mrs. Jardine and Mrs. Leasure helped me through a difficult time in my life when I felt like there was no point to life. A Neil Gaiman quote,, " freedom to read, freedom of ideas, freedom of communications." I wrote about how I felt like both of these ladies saved me from being a nobody. The infamous line I always tell them, "I was lost waiting to be found". They guided me to make the right decisions for me and to just keep being a good person because one day it'll come back to me. The true faith they bestowed in me even when I didn't believe I was worth it. That's what keeps me going. Sometimes when I'm having a bad day just seeing them makes my day better. I am inspired by them to further my education, to read books in the past I would have never picked up, to be intelligent and to always keep my best interest first. • 3. The Dark Side Of The Black Rimmed Clock The aroma of musty wood and rusty metal lingered in the still air as my forehead beaded with droplets of cold sweat. As I sat fidgeting on an uneven blue chair, I absentmindedly watched as students entered small rooms with distressed emotions plastered on their anxious faces. There was one particular student I watched from a distance as she cautiously walked into a room that was lined with tearing yellow wallpaper. Her rich auburn blonde hair was matted down to her scalp from her sweat and I noticed her calves were shaking the tiniest bit. Her face portrayed an uneasy look as she slowly closed the door and I gradually snapped back into focus. Suddenly aware of how I had wasted precious time, I anxiously tapped my foot up and down ... "5 more painful minutes and you'll get this over with," I muttered to myself as my feet slowly dragged along the smooth checkered tile. I approached the assistant band director and forced a tiny smile. Mrs. Sharkey was fairly normal in height and she wore a sleek royal blue skirt that was rimmed in a fraying pom pom lace with a sheer white shirt. She wore a leather pair of sandals and her chestnut brown hair framed her oval face that was lightly coated with blush and golden brown eyeshadow. The teacher quickly scribbled something down onto her clear plastic clipboard with a blue ballpoint pen and pointed her index finger to a seaweed green door. "The second door from the left is where you will be testing," she explained. "The sheet music and scales are on the stand as well. Make sure to press the record button once to start and again to finish recording." I nodded to her instructions while I stared at the ground and teetered from one foot to the other. "Don't be nervous, remember, this test is only part of what we have to determine where you will move up to next year," Mrs. Sharkey reassured me, as if she could sense all of my emotions spilling out of my body. I quickly gave her a look of thankfulness and swiveled around to face the row of metal soundproof doors. Briefly scanning the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Write An Essay On The Most Dangerous Game As I trot the familiar path from the locker–room to the stadium, the air begins to thicken and crackle with static. The sound of cleats scuffing along on the pavement of the track onto the turf, with a faint cheering off in the distance is not easily recognizable inside the helmet. My heart crescendos its beats per second as I get a glimpse of the visiting team. They form a blurry huddle on the other side of the stadium, joined by their fandom that looks hazy like a demonsterous figure from my dreams. I try hard not to notice their fist–pumping movements. Our own huddle is starting its formation on the sidelines in what seems to be a superpower figure that rises out the low oxygenated arm–in–arm circle that the starting lineup has shaped. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The game allows freedom to let go of any fears or baggage I have. The game defines me. Elaborate here. The game doesn't care if I am a good writer, proficient in English, or how many AP's I have taken. It has no concern for my size, my skin color, or what language I speak. All it cares about is that I dance to the tempo creating a story that is all mine for those pulsating sixty minutes that I am in there keeping pace with the other opponents that at times are afraid of me, sometimes they want to dance with me and at other times they try hard to stop the music that is playing in my head. But the volume only gets louder and the beat becomes stronger so much so that at times I feel the game is carrying me for a moment, so that I can actually catch my breath. Lacrosse has become a safe place for me to connect within myself and I pour all my frustration, joy, passion, and anger into the pass, the catch, the block or the goal. My relationship to people around me is wrapped up in the game. It has allowed me to grow and expand into something much greater than myself and when in motion with the team, that holds me safely in its wings, I am free to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Personal Narrative: The Image Of A Homeless Woman To most, they displayed the image of modern–day, homeless musicians who couldn't pay their bills. They were just people who tried to make money off their music, but only created a failed career. The picture seemed set in stone. A ratty clarinet, a silver guitar, and a stand up bass sitting on a park bench, playing to make a bucketful of cash. Granted, the image simply conveys failure; in reality, it conveys success. A gentle hearted woman, Taya, stood on the street corner of downtown New Orleans, blasting notes and gracefully moving her worn fingers along the old clarinet. Her skin was a smooth chocolate. Her hair a dazzling ebony. She emptied her soul and her story through the roar of her instrument. The song told the story of a young woman who had nothing but dreams in her mind. Years of heartache and lost changed nothing in her spirit or her mind about coming to the city of jazz. Hence, wherever Taya could, she continued to play her music, but no one seemed to hear it. • 6. Homeless Day-Personal Narrative In summer of 2015, about the end of June, me and my friend Austen decided to go on a little walk while our parents were talking to people. It was a hot summer day in Goddard, Kansas. We were not very sure where we were going or how long we would be gone, but we still decided to go anyway. We were just going to walk down the street talk about random things. So we grabbed what we wanted to take with us, including our phones, wallets and my test kit since I'm a type 1 diabetic. We also grabbed two bottles of water because it was really hot outside. "Are you about ready to go?" I said to Austen. "Yeah, just let me tell my mom we're leaving." Austen replied. I started feeling kind of weird. It felt as if my blood sugar might have been getting low. We stopped so that I could check it. It turned out that my blood sugar was low. The only reason we could think of for why it was low was that I got too much insulin for what I had ate. Luckily there was a Wal–Mart near the next intersection ahead of us. I laid in my coffin sized bunk for a minute or two, gradually climbing out by flinging one leg over the edge and then the other, and sliding off the top as slow as a sloth. I stood up and shuffled over to the table where I plopped down across from my dad. As my uncle Kirk made breakfast and coffee I asked my dad "Are you having a good birthday weekend?". • 12. Essay on The Stand The Stand by Stephen King was a very detailed, and engulfing story about a possible end to mankind. This "extermination" is caused by a man–made variation of the flu that is 100% fatal and spread through the air. It wipes out 99% of the world's population in a month, leaving around 1 million people in the entire United States. The story is about how the population is split between good and evil and the battle that goes on between the two colonies. The story is presented from many different point of views, because there are around ten to fifteen different main characters. Of all the characters, Harold Lauder is probably the most interesting and developed in the whole story. His personality changes drastically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The two lead male actors were Tyrone Power as Leonard Vole and Charles Laughton as Sir Wilfrid Robarts. The lead female actor was Marlene Dietrich as Christine Helm. "Witness for the Prosecution" superbly demonstrated a realist view of the operating procedures in a courtroom. The actors within the courtroom were easy to identify, and the steps transitioned smoothly from the arrest to the reading of the verdict. For the defendant to be found guilty of murder, the burden is placed on the prosecutor "to prove the defendant guilty beyond a reasonable doubt" (Neubauer & Fradella, 2014, p. 33). In other words, the prosecutor, Mr. Myer must present a strong case to satisfy thejury "that charges against the defendant are almost certainly true" (Neubauer & Fradella, 2014, p. 35). When the trial started, the evidence was strong enough for a guilty verdict. The prosecution had three witnesses to support the claim that Vole killed Emily French. The first witness, Inspector Hearne, provided the court with blood evidence on the sleeve of Vole's jacket; however, during cross –examination, Sir Wilfrid disputed the evidence because Vole's blood type was not excluded as the donor. The second witness was Janet McKenize, Mrs. French's hard of hearing housekeeper, who stated she heard Vole and Mrs. French talking on the night of the murder; nevertheless, during cross–examination, Sir Wilfrid discredited her testimony when he proved to the jury that she was hard of hearing. In addition to fun, we'll sell food from concession stands or cater to the parties needs. We would designate a section of the stadium for large groups to rent if they just want to sit down and watch the game. These sections in the stadium are located in the left and right field lines of the stadium oppose of each other. Space is plentiful as we estimate attendance to increase. Kid's parties may bring in 20–30 students in their class along with 2 parents. This will increase attendance an estimated 60–90 people per party. If you include siblings, friends, or facility members, attendance can potentially amount to over 100/party. An estimated 100 in attendance with an average concession stand rate of $11–$13/person can amount to roughly to $1,100–$1,300 in increase revenue not including the rental of the party zone location. Solution 2: Shuttle service Another solution consists of providing shuttle buses for college students as the case provided students didn't have proper transportation to the baseball stadium. The donors of the scholarship fund that expressed where they wanted their money to go, should have document with the school scholarship committee. The recommendation that I would recommend is that there be a certain teacher over the scholarship committee. Monthly reports should be given to the principle, and the assistant superintendent for curriculum and instructions. When a scholarship is given the principle and assistant superintendent for curriculum and instructions should all be notified. If the donor wished that the money would go to someone in a certain program they also should be notified. B. Inadequate separation of accounts. All three the scholarships donations, the school fess, and the concession stand should have their own accounts. The recommendation that I would offer would be, to give each of the activity their own account. The fees and the on campus concession stand should not be going in the same activity account nor should they be going into the booster club funds. C. Inadequate design of monitoring controls. There were really no monitoring controls at all. Lambert had the ability to override. The recommendation that I would offer is, have a teacher be over the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 27. Personal Narrative : A Personal Essay On Hunting As a St. James middle school boy, I was all about hunting, even though I hadn't ever been. My dad, being the awesome guy that he is, said he'd take me if I genuinely wanted to go. Little did I know, my dad had been studying up for this on YouTube because he knew the worst part comes after you shoot a deer and have to clean it. He watched video after video learning how to properly clean a deer before you take it to a shop for it to be processed. The only thing that I knew I wanted to do was shoot a deer! That next weekend, we went to Lynnville on an early October morning. I could not believe it was all actually happening. I had been wanting to do this for so long and I was certain nothing could get in my way. As we made the half hour drive there, I had the window down with the fresh, chilled air blowing in my face. I kept thinking about war movies wondering if I would freeze once I saw the large brown animal standing before me and not be able to shoot. The biggest thing I worried about consisted of not letting my old man down. He handed over his time to come out there with me and I wanted to make sure it was well worth it. When we finally arrived it was still pitch black out and I was more than ready to get up in our stand and listen for any sound. We started to make our way up a very large hill in the middle of the woods to reach our rally point at the top. I noticed that not too long after we left the truck I had started shaking. I tried to make myself stop, but I just couldn't. After we had gotten settled into our stand, the sun had just began to rise. Everything was happening too fast. I told myself to close my eyes and relax. To a certain extent, this did help calm me down a lot. All of a sudden, I felt my dad gently tapping on my leg, and I opened my eyes to see a doe standing about fifty yards out between two trees. I slowly raised my gun to take aim and realized I had started shaking again. I decided to aim for the center of the animal and not think about it. After I got most of the nerves out of the way I took aim and BOOM!! The deer took off running and I felt almost certain I had missed it. My dad and I had gotten out of the stand and began our journey looking for it. Inside ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 29. Personal Narrative: The Opal Inn The road, or more appropriately, the path leading the town of Opal essentially consisted of dirt and jagged pebbles. Needless to say it wasn't the most favored road amongst the neighbors, especially those with wagons as the wheels consisting of flimsier spokes would often break or create a hitch. I didn't so much have an issue with taking the path, aside from the semi–agonizing distance, as I was wearing my work boots, but it was honestly still an eyesore. However, I enjoyed the views of both the left and right side of the path. The last time I visited Opal it was surely crowded, but not to the point where carts and wagons had absolutely no hope of moving a mere four inches without hitting a pedestrian. • 30. Classroom Reflection At Rolling Green, many areas are used for gym classes now. The temperature recently just rose to the mid–60s. Before the temperature rose, students would participate outside on the schools tennis court, around the baseball diamond, and sometimes the old soccer field. Now, students are participating in the small gym towards the middle of the school building. This helps make it easier for students who didn't dress for the cold weather stay warm. As well as not fully protecting students, but avoiding possibility for children to get sick due to extreme climate change. In this reflection, I will give a brief description of the physical arrangements in the physical education classroom inside. I will then give a description of routines and procedures. Next, I will talk about one of the instructors grouping strategies and activities that stuck out to me the most. Finally, I will speak about one change I would make, and why I would make that change. To begin with, the inside physical education classroom is extremely small. Normally there will be two classes in the room at one time, which leads to the instructors dividing the room up with the middle door. When the gym is divided, the left side just has a stage and volleyball nets taking up a small percentage of space. On the other side of the divided room, there are chairs, volleyball polls, and tumbling mats cluttering the rooms space. Normally the Instructor will try to move extra items out of the way as much as possible. If students have to run, then the items are moved to the four furthest corners of that side of the room. Other times the extra items will be placed in the instructors personal office, or even the equipment storage room. On both sides of the gym, there are posters all over the walls to motivate the students to be healthy, happy and enjoy life t the fullest. There are also some pictures of students with their instructors, and more photos of students in uniforms for certain sports. A daily routine for all of my instructors students, would be to come in the classroom and stand in order by their last name. Frances Ha Essay Frances Ha, released in 2012, is a film primarily focused on a young quirky white girl named Frances who lives in New York City and is trying to figure out what she is supposed to be in her life. The film is edited together as a series of montages that display her appealing character moving through a dark period in her life where she is having trouble functioning as an adult, to where she discovers and embraces what is in herself that she excels at. Nearly all of the scenes in the film have Frances as the lead subject, only cutting away from her to show activities that are proceeding around her. Greta Gerwig's unique professional career and personal life made her perfect for the lead role as Frances, a character full of hopefulness, spontaneity and quirkiness. Although Greta's performance appears on the surface to be improvisational, an examination of her background, use of body language and representational dialogue shows that she is more of a method actor. Instead of sitting on the ground behind a bush like I had done before turkey hunting, this time I would be sitting in a tree. I was high up in the tree. I knew that if I were to drop anything out of this stand it would be a pain for me to retrieve it. I got into the stand far before the light of the sun could warm the freshly snowed on grass. I felt the gust of wind blow down my neck. The hair on my neck stood straight as I grabbed my coffee to warm up. It was still silent, but as the sun rose I could hear singing in my head. • 35. Descriptive Essay About Lifeguards Fifteen minutes. That's one stand rotation at the pool. I climb up the white, grooved ladder rungs of the lifeguard stand. One, two, three, turn around, sit down. I slip off my shoes, exposing the painfully obvious tan lines on my feet. With the rescue tube strap tossed over my head and arm, and the tube resting on my lap, ready to go, I bring the red whistle to my mouth. A shrill, rolling sound is released: a signal to every family in the neighborhood that the day has officially begun. The pool is open. The first fifteen minutes. The relentless sun of two summers' of work has faded away the thrilling newness of climbing up the lifeguard stand. My first day on the job, I relished the climb, overwhelmed by responsibility and glory. Fifteen minutes flew by that day. Growing up, the lifeguards at my neighborhood pool were viewed as celebrities by the younger kids. My friends and I admired how incredibly cool and intimidating they were. Their lifeguard stands, in our eyes, were thrones. But now that I'm on the other side of it, I laugh at the thought of lifeguards being "cool" or "intimidating." I'm neither of those things. And the stand? It's nothing special. I just do my job: I sit, perched on a wobbly plastic chair on stilts, monitoring the happenings of the pool for hours on end.
