I used question pro to create a survey and then broadcast it on my Facebook
for individuals to complete. These consisted of questions, asking the audience
about there favourite codes and convention that they would aspect to feature
In a horror film.

2. What age bracket do you fit into?
15-18

This helps me to understand who my target audience is. By doing so I will be able to use appropriate codes and
conventions that will target each age group. The majority of my audience is aged 18-25 which is relatively young.
Therefore I will use contemporary formal aspects of a horror film to relate to my target audience.

3. What is the most exciting genre of
horror?
Zombie
Alien
Ghost
Slasher
This question allowed me to highlight the sub genre of horrors in which appeals to my target audience the most. It
is clear that the favoured sub-genre is slasher, therefore reinforcing my choice to make a slasher trailer. By carrying
out this research I am ensuring that the appeal factor of my trailer will relate to the majority of my target audience.

From the feedback received from my target audience it is clear that the most favoured film is scream, which happens
to be a slasher film, therefore reinforcing my choice in producing a slasher film. Also this allows my to use conventions
such as intertextual references from scream as I now know they like this film.

This question helps to highlight what my audience would expect to see used as weapons in my horror film. By
doing so I will be effectively catering for the needs and wants. This will therefore increase the success of my
trailer. How ever due to my low budget I will have to consider these answers practically in reflection to my
trailer. Therefore an appropriate weapon would be a knife.

horror film?

By asking this question I am highlighting what environments the audience think would be
most scary for a horror film to feature in. This will help me to increase the fear factor of my
trailer, and therefore create a successful mode of address.
