2. To find out the results shown on the next slides, I
had to produce a survey on question pro. From
the survey I created, for it to get replies I send it
out to different social media websites to get
people to respond to the questions. I wanted to
find out quantitative results because I needed to
compare the results found from the respondents.
Quantitative data is numerical and can be
analysed this is why it is good for me to find
results what are Quantitative as I can compare
what my audience like and do like, so I have an
appropriate trailer for an audience. The total
amount who responded were 82.
How?
3. Gender
Male – 40/48.78
female – 42/51.22
Just to find at who answered our
survey I asked if they were male
or female, it was a very fair
amount between males and
females but knowing that I sent
out my survey out on social
media websites such as twitter
and FaceBook I know that most
of the people who replied were
between the ages of 14-24. This
will help me on the making of my
trailer as I know I need to make a
trailer based on a certain age
rating either 15 or 18.
4. I asked my audience what is
their favourite animal, this was
because I wanted to find out if
they like more aggressive and
masculine animals or soft,
cute and feminine animals.
This helps with the creation of
my trailer because I know as
they like more animals such as
dogs and tigers I can make the
trailer more aggressive, scary
and masculine. It gives an
insight of what people like and
what they are like, as the
highest amount was dogs I will
know to include violence and
more horror to the trailer.

5. I wanted to know if the
people who were
responding like horror
films, because if they do
the answers they respond
to in the next question
would not to relate to
them if the did not. Most
the people who responded
to the questionnaire liked
horror films, this helped
me because I could
understand what they
liked about the past films
they’ve watched or what I
could include.
Horror Movies
6. How people consume?
The way people consume the
films they watch has changed
over the last years, from
asking people I found a lot of
people who answered my
questionnaire do not go to the
cinema any more to watch
films. Over half my audience
now download the films they
watch. The amount of people
that download could suggest
they are downloading the film
illegally. I have found the
amount people go to the
cinemas has dropped a
substantial amount.
7. CharacteristicsMy audience have different opinions of what
scares them when watching horror movies. When
people watch horror films there are different
characteristics such as sound, villains, location or
characters which can scare them. When asking
my audience I found most the people said sound
scares them the most, this is probably people the
sound is subjective, this is that it is exaggerated
so its louder and scarier then it should be. As
sound was the most popular I now know that the
music or voice over's I add to my trailer need to be
important and connect to the audience. Without
sound added to a tense moment people would not
be able to connect or react to what they are
seeing because it can make a scene more
understanding. The Pie Chart is on the next slide.
9. Certain locations are more
terrifying then
others, people tend to find
more dark and isolated
places more horror. Most
people who answered my
questionnaire found woods
and grave yard the most
frightening places, over
house, hospital or car park.
In the making of my trailer
this will help me as I know
that I should film parts of it
in places such as woods or
grave yards.
Location
10. ColoursI needed to find colours
which relate to horror
films and what colours
go well together. I asked
my audience what
colours represent horror
movies, found from this
most agreed that
black, white and red are
the representations of
horror films. From this
my three colour scheme
will the chosen colours.
Black, Yell

11. FavouritesWhen people answered this
question I aimed to find a
film that I could relate my
trailer to, I found most
people liked Friday 13th the
most. From watching the
Friday 13th movie I can get
an insight of what people
could of liked about the
film and how I could
include things. I could
reference intertextuality in
my trailer by using main
feature of Friday the
13th, so that it relates to
my audiences preference.
Texas
Chainsaw
12. WeaponsMy Villain in my trailer
needs to have weapon
to make the gore in the
film to create the
deaths and horror
atmosphere. Chainsaw
and knife were the most
popular answer but as a
realistic weapon that I
can use I choose knife
over chainsaw. In many
slasher trailers the
main weapon I have
seen is a knife this is a
main code and
convention in slasher
trailers.

What is the most terrifying horror
movie you have seen?
Films
I wanted to watch some
horror movies to find what
is scary in them, for this I
had to ask my audience
what they found the most
terrifying horror movie
is?. I found most of my
audience found Insidious
or House of Wax the most
terrifying horror movies.
From watching these films
it will help me gain an
understanding of what
they found scary in the
movies so that them
certain factors can be
consider in the creation of
my trailer.
14. EvaluationFrom finding out my results and considering them to
the creation of my trailer I am now able to understand
what to add in to my trailer and what they like to see.
I did not ask the age of my respondents because I
know that the people who use social media websites
the most are aged 14-24 and because I want to either
aim my trailer at 15 or 18 year olds there response will
change or add to my trailer. Overall I have found I will
add a far amount of gore to my trailer, I will use a
knife as a weapon and use black, white and red as my
colour theme. I also know that I should add or relate
to films such as Friday the 13th and insidious.
