2. The Film
For my short film, I received feedback from my audience
on what to change and improve in order to make a good
film. I showed them the first draft of the film and the
feedback I received was to either change or remove one
section of the ritual scene in which the main protagonist
stands in front of a black curtain with red lighting,
although this scene was very stylised and overall well
shot with a clear intention, I was told it did not work with
the rest of the scene or the film as a whole and I
decided to remove it entirely. There were also some
filler shots which I was told did not look good or did not
fit together in the film, when these were removed the
film looked more authentic. Some positive feedback I
received was that the film is well put together and tells
the story in a unique way with stylised elements such as
the flashback scene which was incredibly effective and
very original
3. Film Poster
For my film poster it was, essentially, a process of
adding parts to build the product overtime. For my
poster I learnt that my central image needs to have
more blending as it doesn't fit in well with the
background however the image does have a glow
across one side which helps lighten the poster
overall. I also needed to add a website and
production company logos to make the product look
more authentic, when these were added it began to
look like a professional poster and was more
aesthetically pleasing. The text credits at the bottom
of the poster could have been smaller and should
take up less space however some positive feedback
I received was that my central image was very
effective as it was blurred which adds to dark tone of
the poster.
4. Magazine Film Review
For my magazine review I had initially less images, and
basic text on the bottom half of the page, I was told that
this looked too plain and not like a real magazine article,
so then started to add features which were more typical
of a magazine film review. I added a quote in the middle
of text which pulls the reader towards the text in order to
read it in full, a page number which gives the sense that
the review is from a real magazine, a star rating as it
gives validity to the review and the magazine in general,
more images and more information about the film this
gives the reader more insight into the film and
encourages them to watch it. From this version the
feedback I received was positive as it looked less plain
and more authentic, although the actual review was brief
however it does fit together as a page and is more
aesthetically pleasing when shorter.
