shades and black for
the backgrounds and
text, but I also have
chosen some pastel
colours like blue and
violet to define the
magazine as a Indie
Pop magazine much
like some of the images
include the gentle
colours. These washed
out, simple colours will
add a flash of colour to
the magazine making it
stand out and still be
quite simplistic.
I chose Homizio Nova Regular as
the general text of the magazine
for the article in the double page
spread etc.. It is a sophisticated
font and is easy to read. It is
simple just like the text used in
magazines like Q and NME.Homizio Nova
For the Masthead and titles I have chosen
Dolce vita heavy bold the font has a sharp
clean cut look to it, the regular font isn’t as
heavy and doesn’t stand out as much as the
heavy bold font. It reminds me on the
masthead font used on ‘The Fly’ magazine. I
would prefer if the font was a bit thicker so it
stood out more prominently against the
background.

Models & Location
For my cover and my double page spread two girls who are acting
as part of a indie pop duo. I will also capture multiple other images
of people looking like musicians so I can use them on my contents
page. The location of the cover and DPS will be in a studio as it will
provide a clean cut, professional looking set of images, where I can
control the lighting and background of the images.

Composition of the page
For the cover of my
magazine I’m using a duo
group, I plan on composing
the image with each model
taking up each half of the
page similarly like the
cover on the right,
however I would like
higher angle on the
subjects to capture more
of the models, the notion
magazine cover is how I
would like the pose of my
models, natural pose but
looking into the camera.
For the DPS I am going to separate the duo and have an individual
image of each of them on separate pages. These will be long shot
images capturing the whole model. There poses will be different,
one model will be leaning forward towards the camera, the other
