Materials
Procedures
(2 minutes)
I will greet students and ask them what date is today.
I will begin the class by asking how many different ways of travelling students know (I
expect them to answer the forms of transportation we talked about in the previous class:
by car, by plane, by bus, by boat...)
Then I will give students a worksheet with an activity that combines different forms of
transportation. Some of them will be new for students, so I will tell them to begin with the
forms they already know and then move on to the new ones. They will have to match the
ways to travel to the signs:
By bike – By boat – By bus – By metro – By taxi – By train – By tram – On foot
3. I will explain the meaning of traveling on foot and other forms of transport like the metro or
the tram, (which may be a new concept for them) describing how it works, how fast it is,
where can we find it and how many people can go in.
We will check the answers with the whole class.
Transition: “Good job everybody, now we’re going to watch a video”
Before watching, I will ask students to brainstorm all the things they can do on their
vacation/ holiday trip. I will write some interesting suggestions on the board (maybe go on
a picnic, camping, watching movies, playing sports, swimming, meeting friends, buying
clothes, souvenirs, etc.)
Then we will watch 3 videos I will ask students to pay attention because they need to
complete the following table with information from the videos:
Dialogue 1 Dialogue 2 Dialogue 3
Where is Alice?
How is she
traveling?
What plans does
she have?
4. After watching each dialogue, I will ask students: “Where is Alice in this video? What form
of transportation is she using? What plans does she have?” so that they can complete the
table together.
I will write students’ answers in a table on the board, according to the corresponding
dialogue. I will elicit the words: airport, metro station and bus stop (which may be new for
them), along with Alice’s travel plans: “visit relatives, go shopping, buy clothes, meet a
friend, drink coffee”.

Transition: “Great! Let's see what you remember from the videos”
True/ False activity:
I will tell students that I will say some things about the videos and they should check if
these statements are true or false. Every time I say something true students should remain
still without moving, and every time I say something false, students should stand up. In this
case, I will ask a student to tell me why this statement is not correct.
I will give them 3 seconds to decide before asking them to take a decision. I will check
their comprehension, and in case they don’t understand my statement, I will reformulate it
and emphasize the key elements (such as the place, transport, plans, etc.).
We will watch the videos again before the game starts.
Sample phrases:
Dialogue 1:
_Alice is going to travel to Buenos Aires.
_Alice is going to visit her family.
_Alice will travel by train.
Dialogue 2:
_Alice is in a shopping centre
_Alice is going to buy clothes.
_The stranger will watch a movie with friends.
Dialogue 3:
_Alice is in a café.
_Alice is going to visit the museum.
_Alice will travel by boat.
Transition: “Well played! Your answers show you understand the dialogues. But, what
about you?”
5. I will ask students to reflect on their holiday plans and discuss it with their partners. Then,
they will write the place they want to go, how they will get there and what activities they
plan to do.
I will provide my own example and write it on the board:
Place: I will go to Maldives - Transport: by boat - Plans: Swimming with dolphins, eating
seafood...
Transition: “Lovely ideas, see you next week!”
