• We use Figures of Speech in
“Figurative Language” to add
color and interest, and to
awaken the IMAGINATION of
the readers.

• We use simile to compare
two objects of different
kinds which have one
point in common.
• also uses “as…as” and
“like” to introduce
comparison
• You are as beautiful as
the flower.
- It can mean that she is so
beautiful, smells good, or
blooming.

• This is like Simile, but
it compares the
objects into totally
different ideas.
• It is a Simile without
“as…as” and “like”.
