Survival 101 Who Makes the Cut?
The world is falling apart and thirteen people have found a bunker that can only provide
food and shelter for four people. We chose to save the scientist, lawyer, doctor, and university
professor because we feel they will be the best four to carry on the human race. These four will
have the best chance of survival because of their knowledge and prior experiences.
The scientist was the first we chose to save because of their valuable skills. The scientist
will be able to provide plants and medicine because of their extensive knowledge. With the
plants, they will be able to provide the group with food and energy. They will have knowledge
on different medicines and that may very well save a life.
Next is the doctor because of their medical background. The doctor will be able to use the
medicine the scientist has to make sure everyone is healthy and receiving the nutrients they need
to survive. There’s a good chance that people will get help and will need medical attention. With
the doctor around the group’s chance of survival greatly increase.
The next to be saved is the lawyer. The lawyer needs to be saved because they will be
able to make sure order is done in an apocalyptic world. Laws are what make humans unique and
without them we are just animals. The lawyer will be able to set up a law system because of his
extensive law studies and with this law system, we will still have a society as the four reproduce
to keep the human race going.
2. Lastly, the university professor needs to be saved. This is because the professor will be
able to educate the kids, so they will be intelligent individuals that can think on their own and
know how to survive. We want them to be educated so they can have a full society when they are
the only ones left in the world.
These four people have unique skill sets that are crucial to survival. They bring the most
to the table and not only will they survive, they will thrive in this new world.
The reason we left the others to die is because we felt the offers more. We left the priest
out because we felt religion was not too important to carry on when we could only save four
people. We did not want the drug addicts because they would influence others to do drugs and
that would poison the group. We need everybody to stay healthy because those getting sick will
bring harm to the whole group. The pregnant women with the kid because they count as two and
she was a stay at home mom who is not educated in any important field. She won’t bring too
much to the table. The unstable military officer because he could have a flashback at any time
and potentially kill the group. His skills would be awesome but we can’t risk the unstable part.
The elderly woman would be left out because of her age she is essentially useless and has
already lived her life. The disabled person is in a wheel chair and that will slow the group down.
A slow group, is a dead group. The lazy guy would not be saved because he is lazy. We need
people to be actively doing stuff because surviving will require hard work and the lazy guy is not
use to that. This is why these people were left to die.
