1. How did you use media
technologies in the construction
and research, planning and
evaluation stages?
2. • When creating the three media products we
used a lot of different media programs such
as:

4. • We used Serif DrawPlus to create our
magazine and poster. We have spent the
whole of our school lives using Serif so we a
very used to using it and know exactly what to
do to get the affect we are looking to achieve.
• This software allowed us to create special
affects on our products such as the glow
around our main character on our poster.
5. • Overall the use of Serif DrawPlus made our
final products a massive success. Without
using this software we would not have been
able to create the glow on underneath our
main character or create some of the features
on our magazine cover such as the 5 star
rating. We would not have been able to create
a continuous thriller effect throughout all of
our media products that we created.
7. • The camera we used to film our media trailer
Canon EOS 1100D. We had no problems with
filming our media because we were used to the
camera so it was quick and easy to film on the
technology front.
• The camera is a HD camera and is also 12
megapixels so the quality of our film was very
clear and professional.
• We used the camera to film the trailer and also to
take the pictures we used on our poster and
magazine covers.
8. By filming our media trailer we have been able
to develop our camera skills and this means that
we can use a number of different camera shots
and angles. We experimented with the camera
and used many different shots in our film trailer
that we thought would go with the genre of our
film.
9. Overall using this camera helped make our
media work more realistic as the audience
would be able to see that the camera used was
a professional one.
11. • We used Serif Movie Plus to create our thriller trailer,
we also used it to edit our AS media film opening so we
are familiar with the tools on the program. This
software suited what we were trying to edit as it is
used by many people and has all the tools which will
make our product stand out and be great.
• We imported all of our footage into the program and
put that in the order that we wanted them in so that it
matched our storyboard. After doing this we then
added special effects such as, transitions and text clips.
12. • As I knew how to use the software I found it
very easy to get what I needed to do done and
so this made the editing process very easy and
quickly
• Although we knew how to do most things on
the editing front the thing we struggled with
the most is blending the sound so that it all
flowed nicely.
13. • All in all we are pleased with the way that our
thriller film trailer turned out as we spent so
much time perfecting each of our products.
The editing came out a lot smoother than we
first planned for and the sound was way
better than what we originally thought.
15. • We used Google Chrome so that we could
have access to the internet. This allowed us to
do our research and planning and to also
allowed us to update our blog frequently
• The fact that we could use the internet meant
that we could use it to our advantage as we
have had so much experience with it we knew
exactly what to search for and which websites
to trust to get reliable information from.
17. • We used the website blogger to document the
progress throughout our coursework
• Each post individually states the steps we have
taken to make our products final.
• We used blogger for both our AS and A2
coursework so we knew exactly what to do
when using it
