Evaluation Question Six
1. QUESTION SIX:WHAT HAVE YOU LEARNT ABOUT TECHNOLOGIES FROM THE
PROCESS OF CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?
George Johnson
2. Pre-Production
Prior to engaging in the actual production of our film, I still used and learnt about a
variety of different technologies regarding the filmmaking process, and the
documentation of my group’s progress. Firstly, I created a Blogger profile so that all of
our work could be organised, recorded and made available for presentation. In order to
gain insight into our chosen genre, we as a group, also used search engines, such as
Google, in order to research elements and features that are frequently present within
both crime and comedy films. This information collated could then be analysed and
used as a source of information when writing about features abundant within films of
our specified genre, and as an indicator of what to include in our film.
In addition to this, I also used scriptwriting software, Celtx to write a script for our
upcoming production, ‘Do Not Pass Go’, to which I also designed the logo of using
Adobe Photoshop.
3. Production
We filmed our movie using a Panasonic HD Handheld Camera, this camera provided
high quality resolution and a clear image so that we could film with clarity. The
manoeuvrability of this camera was also ideal as it was light, thus allowing a variety of
handheld camera shots to take place during the film’s duration.
Accompanied with this, our group also required the use of a handheld voice recorder
so that we could include audio within our film which may have become distorted or
inaudible. The use of this apparatus vastly improved our film’s quality as we were now
able to have clear sound when necessary, whereas we wouldn’t have before.
In addition to this, we also used Adobe Premiere Pro, in order to edit our film. This
software was useful as it was easy to use and allowed for seamless transitions from
scene to scene to take place.
4. Post-Production
Within post-production, we used YouTube in order to upload our video, and other
documentation features such as Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, as to state our
actions and write about the process of filmmaking.
We uploaded PowerPoint presentations onto our blog via SlideShare, which was also
set-up post production.
