Unpretty Tlc Analysis
In the song "Unpretty" by TLC, I personally think the meaning of this song is about image. A person
can feel so much insecurity in themselves to go the length to altering their appearance because of the
person they care for does not accept them as they are. My reaction to this song is sincere because
people will alter themselves to feel cared or accepted; however, it's also disappointing because
people should not go that far to alter their appearance for someone else. I did like the song, the artist,
and genre because I think TLC did a great job to explain what makes people feel insecure about
themselves; thus, creating thoughts to change who they are to make their outside feel cool and their
insides feel blue. But in my opinion, no one should

Charles Manson Research Paper Outline
In 1969, Charles Manson got in a conflict with a black drug dealer which fueled his homicidal urge,
and concluded that the Black Panthers would seek revenge. Although the drug dealer was not a
Panthers member, paranoia got the best of him. He transformed Spahn Ranch into a heavily–armed
camp with night patrols and armed guards. Manson told his followers that the promised Helter
Skelter race war was on the way. Charles Manson established himself as a messiah–like figure in the
hippie counterculture of San Francisco. He moved in with a Berkeley grad student named Mary
Brunner, and soon had 18 women living in the house with them.
Charles Manson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 12, 1934. He was born to Kathleen
Maddox and an unknown father. Maddox was 16 years old when he was born and she was an
alcoholic and a prostitute. She married William Manson ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Charles was placed in a boys school at an early age. Charles ran back to her, but she didn't take him

benefits of being a model prisoner, he was considered dangerous. He would eventually spend half of
the first 32 years of his life behind bars. His life began to change, Biography online says, "A new
chapter in his life began in 1955 when he married a 17–year–old girl and moved with her to
California. She became pregnant, but Manson resumed a life of crime again, once again stealing
cars" (Charles Manson: Biography). By 1958, Manon had been in and out of jail for a variety of
offenses, including "pimping" (Charles Manson: Biography). Also, he was in prison for passing
stolen checks, and he was also sent to McNeil Island prison in Washington State for 10 years.

Charles Manson Research Paper
Charles Manson is a well–known American criminal and musician. Although he was best known as
a cult leader who inspired the killings of eight people between July and August of 1969, he had a
long criminal record dating back to 1948 (Internet Accuracy Project, 2012). Charles Milles Manson
was born on November 12, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Kathleen Maddox, a 16–year–old girl who
was allegedly both an alcoholic and prostitute. According to Manson and Emmons (1986), his
biological father was a transient worker who called himself Colonel Scott, whom he met only once
or twice and does not remember. It wasn't until his mother's marriage to his step–father William
Manson, that he became Charles Milles Manson (Manson & Emmons, 1986). His ... Show more

Manson started in a world where the chances that his basic physiological needs where most likely
not being consistently met in the area of food and shelter. The area of safety is also questionable as
he spent the majority of his youth being shuffled from home to home and then in detention. He
attempted to meet belongingness and love through a family made up strangers. The upper levels
would be difficult to achieve without first fulfilling the lower levels. Rogerian theory focuses on
coming to terms with our own reality and not trying to be someone whom we are not and in some
ways, it seems like Manson has come to terms with who he is, and yet, he is also living up to the
expectation of being nothing set for him by others. The disadvantage of this theory is that he has
such notoriety, it would be difficult for him to find a therapist who could refrain from being bias one
way or the other; further, he would have to trust and be honest and give an honest view, which,
given his mental health, might be skewed even if he is being honest in his mind. The assessment tool
best suited for Manson would be interview. Although the patient is capable of lying, the validity of
the interview can be proven through the success or failure of the treatment (Friedman & Schustack,
2012). The reason I would choose this method is that just as with this method, Manson

Research Paper On Charles Manson Family Cult
Charles Manson, who died on November 19, 2017 aged 83, was the leader of the Manson Family
cult, located in Los Angeles, California in the late 1960's.
This was a non– religious cult but had some beliefs within scientology and satanism. Charles
Manson believed that there was to be a race war in America in the near future and that the African
Americans would win, but then look to the Whites for guidance. This then lead Manson and his one
hundred plus followers, mostly young women, to attempt to instigate this war so that they could be
prepared and hide away until the African Americans won, and then the "family" would be the ones
the African Americans would turn to for leadership (The 10 Most Famous Cults, 2017).

Creative Story : A Short Story
During the day before anything happened me and my friend Joseph made our way home to my
house from the hiking trail we went on together he said to me when we were about to walk into the
back yard when he said hey tonight I'm going to be riding my bike in Dover with my friend Ariel do
you want to come with and for some reason I said yes. So he said I'll call you when it's time to go
and well meet at my house I said ok again and he started making his way home.
Later on that day during that night at about eleven o'clock I got a text on ovum from Joseph telling
me to go over to his house (ovum is a video chatting, calling, and texting app). So I quietly got out
of bed and sneaked up my stares to the front door and unlocked both locks making sure to not let my
dog around the corner from me hear. So after I got outside I ran to the backyard grabbed my bike
with my phone in my pocket next to my power bank that has a built in flashlight. So I hurry over to
Joseph's house and I see him outside I say hey he says hi back and he tells me to follow him and I
agree too.
From there it was like a half an hour bike ride over to meet Ariel but we finally meet at Walmart. I
say hi to Ariel and he says hi back as Joseph introduces us because we had never met before. Then
we go around in the Walmart parking lot as Adriel showed us some cool bike tricks. The we go up a

Chorus Tlc's Song 'Unpretty'
The song that I chose to listen to is called, "Unpretty," and it was made by a women's group called
TLC. The song comments on how we let our relationships with others affect the way we see
ourselves. In the chorus TLC sings, "You can buy you hair if it won't grow. You can buy your nose if
he says so. You can buy all the makeup that M.A.C. can make." Someone that wants longer hair can
buy hair extensions, a person who was told that their nose was ugly can invest in a nose job, and
someone who wants their face to look more appealing can buy makeup. The song continues on to
say, "If you can't look inside you, and see who am I to, be in the position to make me feel so damn
unpretty." The chorus comments on our need for an appealing outward appearance.

The Top Four Retail Chocolate
This structured analysis focuses on the top four retail chocolate manufacturers in terms of global net
sales from 2014. The top four chocolate manufactures are Mars Inc., Mondelez International,
Ferrero Group and Nestle SA. These manufactures hold approximately 30% of the global retail
market share demonstrating their brand power through successful advertising and marketing
techniques (appendix 4.1). The global chocolate industry itself has grown by approximately $8
billion USD (net sales) since 2012 despite the growing demand for healthy and organic foods.
Organic food sector demands are estimated to grow 14% in the United States through 2018, despite
the fact that US chocolate sales have grown 24% in a that time frame (TechSci,2014). The
conflicting statistics could only be explained by the successful marketing of retail chocolate
companies who have recognized the shifts in market preferences and consumer behavior, and
successfully adapted to these trends keeping the appeal of chocolate.

John Mars Strengths And Weaknesses
Cindy and John Mars are the proud parents of Matthew, three years old, and Ariel, five months old.
The strong love and investment that the parents show is a positive factor that is revealed in the
amount of concern they have for the quality of care the children are receiving. The Early Years
Centre, their child care centre, is close enough for Cindy to walk the kids to, which compensates for
not having a second car. This time that Cindy spends walking them to the centre also allows for
much–needed quality time with her children. Another protective factor that this family has is the

interactive parenting therapy reveals that "Family–focused prevention interventions were cited as, in
general, producing moderate to very large effect sizes, whereas child only interventions often
produced very small effect" (Thomas, 2007, p. 476). The days when either parent would like to join
the children, the program would be at a reduced making it affordable for their budget. The parents
would also be able to access a parent relief system on the days that it is unlikely for Cindy to walk

the program to come to their home and care for the children for as long as necessary. The program

families who are similar to their own. This program would help not only with the financial
difficulties the family is having, but also with any anxiety Cindy and John have when leaving their
children with strangers. The program will enhance the family financially and will strengthen their

Since his birth, Charles Manson has led a life of rejection, jealousy, and incarceration. Due to his
absent parents, he began a life of crime which eventually led him to manipulate a group of people
who were responsible for multiple deaths and assaults in the late 1960's and early 1970's. Charles
Manson's hectic childhood led to his life of crime and caused his imprisonment for life. The
youngest of three children, Kathleen Maddox grew up in a strict religious household in Ashland
Kentucky where no make up was allowed and God's will dominated over everything. Anything such
as looking at the opposite sex, smoking, cursing, or even showing extra skin than necessary was

Instead of starting a new life and trying to do good, Charles Manson turned back to his life of crime
to make a living. Before his own eyes, Manson was become his mother Kathleen and acting out.
Manson robbed a grocery store, stole multiple things, and got involved with the wrong crowd of
people. Soon enough he was arrested for stealing a bike and stood in front of a judge. The judge
declared that he cannot be off on his own and had to get in contact with his mother. Kathleen told
the judge once again that she couldn't take care of him except this time the judge was sympathetic.
Knowing how hard it was for Charles Manson to fit in at the last reform school, he decided to send
him to Father Flanagan's Boys Town. After only a couple of days, Manson and another kid ran away
from this new place. Together the two of them went on a bunch of crime sprees including wrecking
a car. Eventually the two young boys got caught and this time the judge wasn't sympathetic.
Kathleen had no say at this point and Charles was put into the Indianapolis Juvenile Home. Just like
before, Manson escaped and this time brought numerous juveniles along with him. He went straight
to stealing a car and was back in custody less than two hours later. The Indianapolis justice system
was fed up with Manson's antics and he landed himself a one way ticket to the county jail. In only

popularity because 95% of the people you see in school you'll never see after school. And I regret
picking the wrong choice since day and want you to be the best you can be because I thought fame
was the way better than smarts but I was wrong. But someone told smarts are the only things that

Success Is The Most Misunderstood Driver Of Performance
Some popular theories claim that the amount a person is paid determines how well that person
produces and performs. However, new research suggests that there are more variables at play
pertaining to peak performance and link an employee's happiness to his or her productivity and a
company's success. Research indicates that performance on nearly every level–productivity,
creativity, and engagement–improves when people cultivate and work with a positive mind–set.
According to Shawn Achor, the author of The Happiness Advantage, "Happiness is perhaps the most
misunderstood driver of performance. For one, most people believe that success precedes happiness.
'Once I get a promotion, I'll be happy,' they think. Or, 'Once I hit my sales target, I'll feel great.' But
because success is a moving target–as soon as you hit your target, you raise it again–the happiness
that results from success is fleeting." Achor explains that when employees develop a positive mind–
set, they become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work. He
has observed this effect in his role as a researcher and lecturer in 48 countries on the connection
between employee happiness and success.
In a study at the University of Warwick, economists discovered employees who were happy
increased their productivity by 12%, while unhappy workers were 10% less productive. The
Warwick research team stated: "We find that human happiness has large and positive causal effects

Bruno Mars's real name is Peter Gene Hernandez; he changed it due to the fact he was being

However, in the following year Manson slipped back into the awful behavior he displayed
previously. He started stealing cars, forging cash, check–cashing, and failing to appear in court. All
of this resulted in many more years in jail and out on parole.
After Manson was released from jail on Match 21, 1967, he moved to California. He became a
"hippie" and soon met Mary Brunner at the University of California. Manson was known as a very
swuave individual and sometimes even referred to as charming. With that being said it was very
easy for him to organize a group of people to come and listen to him exhort his philosophy on
Scientology. These, along with many others, became part of his "family'. He and his followers
traveled to several places within the United States. In 1968, Manson and his group of followers

Charles Manson was born on November 12, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio. In the late 1960's, Manson
founded a murderous cult named 'The Manson Family'. The Manson Family of around 100
followers committed many horrifying acts of terror around San Francisco. By using the power of
lies in influencing his followers to believe that he was Jesus and many other things, Manson
controlled them criminally and spiritually. Some of the most significant murders taken place by the
cult were the stabbing of Sharon Tate and the execution of Leno LaBianca and his wife. This was
the beginning of his mass murders that took place by The Manson Family Cult.

He and his followers were arrested in a remote location called Bakers Ranch for suspicion of auto
theft, but some already charged for the murders.
Hypothetically, Manson's lies could've stopped prior to the murders. If someone said no to killing
someone, he may have taken it into his own hands, robbing him of his power to influence. This
could've taken place if his followers didn't have the drugs that essentially brainwashed them. He
knew that once he got them all brainwashed and on his side, he could easily make up lies, and
instruct them to do whatever he wanted.
As said already, Manson was eventually arrested for his doings and was charged with the death
sentence. It was changed, and he was charged for the murders and sentenced for life in prison. He
was in prison for about 46 years before he died in 2017 of natural causes.
The most known follower of Manson, Susan Atkins, was sentenced for life in prison for after telling

The M & M Campaign Essay
Brand campaigns is generally regarded as application of specific activities created to promote a
product. Companies typically employ it when they want to increase their sales. Use of one or an
integrated media techniques may come into effects, for instance, use of television, print and social
media. The point is to capture the target audience's attention as well as generate response from them.
This is exactly what M&M managed to do with its "Better with M" campaign where they used
unique advertising and marketing approaches that had emotional and psychological effect on the
target market. The M&M campaign use of personification and personalization was a brilliant move
that cemented the company as leaders in candy and chocolate manufacturing. Several slogans and
ads run through people's TV screen during the whole campaign period, and the fascinating aspect is
that the were really engaging and funny. The campaign featured super bowl commercial, digital ads,
in–store displays, and perhaps the most critical cause–related marketing.
This is analysis of the "Better with M" campaign. This paper explores how M&M devised and
implemented successful advertising campaign through message strategy, persuasive focus,
persuasive appeal and correct execution. This will be done by reviewing literature on marketing and
advertising concepts. I will also look at the cost used to implement this strategy and whether it was
channelled in the right way. Finally, the paper will examine the outcome of

In 1967 the Manson Family began in Venice, California. Charles Manson took the role of being a
leader to his cult members by making connections between religion and rock n' roll music in order
to brainwash them with his beliefs. During the summer of 1969, it is documented that there was a
total of twenty–four dead bodies throughout three different murder scenes. Most believe there was a
total of thirty–five killings, but some were not included in the total because there was not enough
evidence. Due to the crimes committed, some wonder if Charles was severely mentally ill and did
not have any control over his wrong doings. Mentally ill or not, that doesn't justify his actions nor
make it acceptable to treat Manson different from any other serial killer. Charles Manson was born

Most violent related crimes are not committed by someone who suffers from Schizophrenia. Not all
people with this illness have the same symptoms and each symptom can alter over an extensive
amount of time. When Manson mixed drugs he used with this illness, it turned into something else.
Substance abuse can substantially increase violence and hallucinations. Bad hallucinations not only
include false seeings, but also false hearing, feeling, tasting, and smelling of things that are not real.

It wasn't until the 1990's that Doctors discovered a new medication to help Schizophrenia. These
drugs are commonly taken in a pill or liquid form once or twice a month. Delusions should go away
in a matter of a few weeks, but it often takes up to six weeks to see a significant improvement.
Maybe if this medication would have came a little sooner, Manson and his family wouldn't have had
the chance to do the horrific things they did.
He definitely succeeded in controlling the minds of his cult members along with other young people

Reviving Opheli Saving The Selves Of Adolescent Girls
While reading Mary Pipher's, "Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls" and Dan
Kindlon and Michael Thompson's, "Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys," I got a
better understanding of the mindsets of teenagers in todays society. I learned that countless girls and
boys have the same inner battles and do not even realize it. The two songs I chose that best represent
ideas of woman and manhood are "Unpretty," by TLC and "Stan," by Eminem. I believe these songs
support many of the stereotypes portrayed in both of the class readings and hold strong messages
that can impact the views of girls and boys alike. They address many struggles that teenagers today
may be going through but afraid of speaking about openly.
In Reviving Ophelia, Pipher takes us into the minds of teenage girls and evaluates the ordinary
troubles they encounter. She explains how girls tend to let the opinions of others influence their
interests and appearance. They visualize how others perceive them and based on this, they form a
self–perception. This perception can either be a positive or negative one. Generally if a girl
establishes a negative self–perception, they have an urge to alter whom they are to gain approval.
They crave acceptance from others so much that they usually through great lengths to get it. The
problem is that many girls don't accept themselves for whom they are and "Unpretty" speaks to
those girls in particular. The song is by the popular 90's R&B group

sides personality, which is evident throughout the context and background of his life. On one hand,
he was a magnetic and loving person that drew in others with his intelligence and self–proclaimed

In addition to the many lies that he has told about both himself and his life, as well as the

The 60s were a point when it was normal for teens and young adults to leave home and start their
lives elsewhere, whether or not it was with the hippie movement. It was also when there was a good
amount of civil rights activities were going on and the Black Panthers came on the scene. It was
revealed in a book about Manson that his plan he thought their was going to be a war between
balock and white people. He wanted to start this war with the killings, hoping people would think
black people, or a civil rights group, had committed the murders. In Manson's mind this would have
started the war, which he called Helter Skelter after the Beatles song. Manson's life would most
likely have gone differently if he had a different childhood. He grew up with his aunt and uncle for
most of his young childhood, because his father left and his mother was in jail for a number of

In "Company Aytch," Sam R. Watkins first wrote this book to describe his experience at the Battle
of Franklin, Tennessee, in 1864. As a soldier in Company H of the First Tennessee Volunteer
Infantry Regiment, CSA, Watkins witnessed the panorama of war in grand scale as he marched and
fought with the hard luck Confederate Army of Tennessee across the Western Theater. His honest,
vivid, and dramatic memoir, published in the 1880s, is a classic that conveys the horrors, humor, and
realism of the Civil War, and the firsthand experience of being in this war
Some of Sam's views on officers begin at Camp Cheatham on page 5. He indicates that he was

compares a private as a machine. They work by the command of good, bad or indifferent. Privates
also worked while officers slept, or die on the battle field. An example of nicknames found on page

However, he has many men who fought for him, behind him. He compares Jackson as an order man,
this would be if given orders, you must follow them. On page 26, Sam questions why his generals
had them retreat during battles.
Sam's views on his comrades, especially during death was a very sad time. On page 21, he is sad to
leave the dead on the battlefield and move on after to another place/battle. On page 38, he is sad to

The Ethics Of Whistle Blowing Essay
Whistle–blowing is a person who exposes any kind of information or activity that is deemed illegal,
unethical or not correct either private or public within an organization or company. When an
individual discovers evidence of malpractice or misconduct in an organization he/ she faces an
ethical dilemma in which a decision has to be made. Either present documentation or turn the blind
eye and not acknowledge the situation. Such information can be classified as a violation of company
policy, rules, and regulations or a threat to public interest, national security, as well as fraud and
corruption. Those that choose to become whistle–blowers can disclose their information either
internal or external. Internal, whistle–blower is an individual that can bring information or
accusations to the attention of other people within the accused company such as a supervisor. The
supervisor then has to follow protocol and procedures to address the issue. However, if the
supervisor cannot contain the issue, it will escalate to a higher level of management. External
whistle–blowing allegations are bought forth by involving outside third party such as media, law
enforcement and government. Internal whistle–blowing within an organization involves over 75 %
of employees of wrong doings such as vandalism, absenteeism and damages. Even though several
companies detect some misbehavior within the company, whistle–blowing was first presented as an
ethical issue over more than 20 years ago. Many

  • 5. Unpretty Tlc Analysis In the song "Unpretty" by TLC, I personally think the meaning of this song is about image. A person can feel so much insecurity in themselves to go the length to altering their appearance because of the person they care for does not accept them as they are. My reaction to this song is sincere because people will alter themselves to feel cared or accepted; however, it's also disappointing because people should not go that far to alter their appearance for someone else. I did like the song, the artist, and genre because I think TLC did a great job to explain what makes people feel insecure about themselves; thus, creating thoughts to change who they are to make their outside feel cool and their insides feel blue. But in my opinion, no one should ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Charles Manson Research Paper Outline In 1969, Charles Manson got in a conflict with a black drug dealer which fueled his homicidal urge, and concluded that the Black Panthers would seek revenge. Although the drug dealer was not a Panthers member, paranoia got the best of him. He transformed Spahn Ranch into a heavily–armed camp with night patrols and armed guards. Manson told his followers that the promised Helter Skelter race war was on the way. Charles Manson established himself as a messiah–like figure in the hippie counterculture of San Francisco. He moved in with a Berkeley grad student named Mary Brunner, and soon had 18 women living in the house with them. Charles Manson was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 12, 1934. He was born to Kathleen Maddox and an unknown father. Maddox was 16 years old when he was born and she was an alcoholic and a prostitute. She married William Manson ... He would eventually spend half of the first 32 years of his life behind bars. His life began to change, Biography online says, "A new chapter in his life began in 1955 when he married a 17–year–old girl and moved with her to California. She became pregnant, but Manson resumed a life of crime again, once again stealing cars" (Charles Manson: Biography). By 1958, Manon had been in and out of jail for a variety of offenses, including "pimping" (Charles Manson: Biography). • 9. Charles Manson Research Paper Charles Manson is a well–known American criminal and musician. Although he was best known as a cult leader who inspired the killings of eight people between July and August of 1969, he had a long criminal record dating back to 1948 (Internet Accuracy Project, 2012). Charles Milles Manson was born on November 12, 1934, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Kathleen Maddox, a 16–year–old girl who was allegedly both an alcoholic and prostitute. According to Manson and Emmons (1986), his biological father was a transient worker who called himself Colonel Scott, whom he met only once or twice and does not remember. It wasn't until his mother's marriage to his step–father William Manson, that he became Charles Milles Manson (Manson & Emmons, 1986). His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Manson started in a world where the chances that his basic physiological needs where most likely not being consistently met in the area of food and shelter. The area of safety is also questionable as he spent the majority of his youth being shuffled from home to home and then in detention. He attempted to meet belongingness and love through a family made up strangers. The upper levels would be difficult to achieve without first fulfilling the lower levels. Rogerian theory focuses on coming to terms with our own reality and not trying to be someone whom we are not and in some ways, it seems like Manson has come to terms with who he is, and yet, he is also living up to the expectation of being nothing set for him by others. The disadvantage of this theory is that he has such notoriety, it would be difficult for him to find a therapist who could refrain from being bias one way or the other; further, he would have to trust and be honest and give an honest view, which, given his mental health, might be skewed even if he is being honest in his mind. The assessment tool best suited for Manson would be interview. Although the patient is capable of lying, the validity of the interview can be proven through the success or failure of the treatment (Friedman & Schustack, 2012). The reason I would choose this method is that just as with this method, Manson ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Research Paper On Charles Manson Family Cult Charles Manson, who died on November 19, 2017 aged 83, was the leader of the Manson Family cult, located in Los Angeles, California in the late 1960's. This was a non– religious cult but had some beliefs within scientology and satanism. Charles Manson believed that there was to be a race war in America in the near future and that the African Americans would win, but then look to the Whites for guidance. This then lead Manson and his one hundred plus followers, mostly young women, to attempt to instigate this war so that they could be prepared and hide away until the African Americans won, and then the "family" would be the ones the African Americans would turn to for leadership (The 10 Most Famous Cults, 2017). ... • 13. Charles Manson Research Paper When asked who he was, Charles Manson responded, "I'm nobody. I'm a tramp, a bum, a hobo. I'm a boxcar and a jug of wine, and a straight razor if you get too close to me" (as said in parole hearing 1989) In the year 1969, the whole United States population was shaken by the cold blooded Tate murders. The people behind these murders would become known as The Manson Family. The Manson Family was a hippie cult led by a man named Charles Manson. For many years, the mention of these people struck fear and horror into the hearts and minds of the American people. They could not help, but wonder who these people were, and what could have influence this group of young adults, barely more than children, to commit a crime of such unspeakable horror. ... An 18 year old boy named Steven Parent was also in the property at the time, visiting the home's caretaker. On this night, Manson had Charles "Tex" Watson drive some of his girls, Susan Atkins, Patricia Krenwinkel, Leslie Van Houten, Linda Kasabian, and Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme, over to the Tate house with the instruction to kill and to "leave something witchy" behind(). Manson told them that they had to kill everyone in the Tate house to help bring about Helter Skelter. Both Tex and Susan had taken a large amounts of speed before driving the other girls over to the Tate house. Once at the home, Tex walked through the front gate to discover Steven Parent in his car, leaving the property. It was then that Tex shot Parent in the head and told the girls that it was safe to go in. Krenwinkel recalls that she knew "people were going to die"(). Creative Story : A Short Story During the day before anything happened me and my friend Joseph made our way home to my house from the hiking trail we went on together he said to me when we were about to walk into the back yard when he said hey tonight I'm going to be riding my bike in Dover with my friend Ariel do you want to come with and for some reason I said yes. So he said I'll call you when it's time to go and well meet at my house I said ok again and he started making his way home. Later on that day during that night at about eleven o'clock I got a text on ovum from Joseph telling me to go over to his house (ovum is a video chatting, calling, and texting app). So I quietly got out of bed and sneaked up my stares to the front door and unlocked both locks making sure to not let my dog around the corner from me hear. So after I got outside I ran to the backyard grabbed my bike with my phone in my pocket next to my power bank that has a built in flashlight. So I hurry over to Joseph's house and I see him outside I say hey he says hi back and he tells me to follow him and I agree too. From there it was like a half an hour bike ride over to meet Ariel but we finally meet at Walmart. I say hi to Ariel and he says hi back as Joseph introduces us because we had never met before. Then we go around in the Walmart parking lot as Adriel showed us some cool bike tricks. The we go up a slope and he asks to try my bike to I let him on and I tried his little did I know there ... His prophetic visions included a belief that the race war would result in a black victory, and Manson along with his Family members would have to mentor the black community, as they would lack experience to run the planet. As Manson and the Family were to be the beneficiaries of the race war, he told his followers that they had to help initiate it. • 35. Success Is The Most Misunderstood Driver Of Performance Some popular theories claim that the amount a person is paid determines how well that person produces and performs. However, new research suggests that there are more variables at play pertaining to peak performance and link an employee's happiness to his or her productivity and a company's success. Research indicates that performance on nearly every level–productivity, creativity, and engagement–improves when people cultivate and work with a positive mind–set. According to Shawn Achor, the author of The Happiness Advantage, "Happiness is perhaps the most misunderstood driver of performance. For one, most people believe that success precedes happiness. 'Once I get a promotion, I'll be happy,' they think. Or, 'Once I hit my sales target, I'll feel great.' But because success is a moving target–as soon as you hit your target, you raise it again–the happiness that results from success is fleeting." Achor explains that when employees develop a positive mind– set, they become more engaged, creative, motivated, energetic, resilient, and productive at work. He has observed this effect in his role as a researcher and lecturer in 48 countries on the connection between employee happiness and success. In a study at the University of Warwick, economists discovered employees who were happy increased their productivity by 12%, while unhappy workers were 10% less productive. The Warwick research team stated: "We find that human happiness has large and positive causal effects on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Reviving Opheli Saving The Selves Of Adolescent Girls While reading Mary Pipher's, "Reviving Ophelia: Saving the Selves of Adolescent Girls" and Dan Kindlon and Michael Thompson's, "Raising Cain: Protecting the Emotional Life of Boys," I got a better understanding of the mindsets of teenagers in todays society. I learned that countless girls and boys have the same inner battles and do not even realize it. The two songs I chose that best represent ideas of woman and manhood are "Unpretty," by TLC and "Stan," by Eminem. I believe these songs support many of the stereotypes portrayed in both of the class readings and hold strong messages that can impact the views of girls and boys alike. They address many struggles that teenagers today may be going through but afraid of speaking about openly. In Reviving Ophelia, Pipher takes us into the minds of teenage girls and evaluates the ordinary troubles they encounter. She explains how girls tend to let the opinions of others influence their interests and appearance. They visualize how others perceive them and based on this, they form a self–perception. This perception can either be a positive or negative one. Generally if a girl establishes a negative self–perception, they have an urge to alter whom they are to gain approval. They crave acceptance from others so much that they usually through great lengths to get it. The problem is that many girls don't accept themselves for whom they are and "Unpretty" speaks to those girls in particular. The song is by the popular 90's R&B group ... The movie follows the case with an omniscient point of view, mainly focusing on the point of view of the leading prosecutor, Vincent Bugliosi. Occasionally, the viewer receives information Bugliosi does not have, by switching to the viewpoint of a Family member. The amount of violence in the movie is not depicted as it was in real life. This is because showing true–to–life, graphic images of the murders was not appropriate for television at that time. This does not change the overall effectiveness of the movie, as the actors do a good job portraying their horror at the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
