Great Barrier Reef Case Study
The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most beloved regions of the world but due to recent human activity in surrounding areas and subsequent sediment
delivery, coral and seagrass habits within are being negatively impacted. Extending 2000km along the North–eastern Australian coast (Brodie et al.,
2007), the Great Barrier Reef is a major source of income for Northern Australia and fuels the growth of local businesses. As industrialization in areas
adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef lagoon have increased since European settlement (McCulloch et al., 2003), the need for more resources to
compensate for human population has led to harmful land practices such as overstocking and deforestation for cattle grazing inland. These are causing

While relatively dry most of the year, in a short amount of time it can become one of Australia's largest rivers (Hutchings, Kingsford, &
Hoegh–Guldberg, 2008), transporting unprecedented volumes of freshwater, sediments, and nutrients to the ocean (Hutchings, Kingsford, &
Hoegh–Guldberg, 2008). While the majority of the delivered sediments stay within 50km of the river mouth (Lewis, Olley, Furuichi, Sharma, &
Burton, 2014, pp. 146), clay sized particles are then brought north through drift processes (Lewis, Olley, Furuichi, Sharma, & Burton, 2014, pp. 146),
creating a plume that that can extend in a band up to 50km from the coast (Devlin & Brodie, 2004, pp.9–22). These fine sediments do not travel in
water currents and instead tend to settle in calm waters, forming mud banks in sheltered areas (Brodie, Wolanski, Lewis, & Bainbridge, 2012, pp. 267)
and directly affecting the inner reef corals by increasing

Ethical Issues Regarding The Interview Session Was The...
LC Report 1. Kingsford Legal Centre sees a range of clients, many of whom are disadvantaged in some way. What were some of the ethical and/or
professional issues and considerations that arose during your interviewing sessions? How were these issues addressed or resolved? How might
they be different from working with other types of clients? (350 words) One ethical issue that arose during the interview session was the client's
mental health issues. I decided not to delve into these mental health issues further because it was not relevant to his matter which was about the
wording of his employment contract. I tried to use Parker and Evans three step model of ethical reflection in making this decision. Firstly, I was
aware of the ethical issue as I the client told me that he had some mental health issues (Parker and Evans). The two options were either to address
the issues or not to address the issues. Secondly, in applying ethical standards, there are no rules in the Solicitor's Rules on dealing with clients with
mental health issues. However, in considering the four models of lawyering, I adopted an adversarial advocate/responsible lawyer approach as my
main concern was discerning the relevant facts of the case to ensure that I could serve the best interests of the client in relation to his legal issue
(Parker and Evans). However, if I had adopted an ethics of care approach I may have asked him about his mental health issues and whether he was
seeking help. This is

Kingsford Charcoal Brief Case Report
Company and competitors: Kingsford is a well known brand of charcoal for barbeque purpose in US. Clorox purchased it in 1973. It accounts for 9%
of Clorox's revenue in 2000. Kingsford only have two main competitors in the market, Royal Oak and private labels.
Key trend and key success factor: Grilling is a popular event in US. Common reasons for barbecuing are great flavor, outdoor social activities, change
of pace etc. Charcoal and gas grilling are the most common methods. The success of Kingsford is due to discipline in delivering constant marketing,
sales action and message communicated across different parties. The key sales techniques are high quality charcoal and visible display location of the
charcoal in the stores.

Kingsford had reduced its media spending from over $6 million in 1998 to a little over $1 million in 2000. Gas Grill increased its media spending
during the same time period. * Reduction in Promotions: Royal Oak had contributed substantial funds towards merchandising opportunities at
retailers such as temporary price reductions, features and displays. Kingsford's merchandising in 2000 was consistent with that in 1999. * Weather
Pattern: Precipitation and temperature comparison with 1999 showed a slight increase in rainfall in October through December 2000, coupled with
major drop in temperatures. Cold weather reduced the opportunities for grilling occasions. * Lack of R&D: Kingsford was consistent with
research and development and had spent $63 million since 1998. Kingsford's research team not focused on how to overcome to Gas Grill. Lack of
research on what makes the charcoal easy to use and require less preparation. These key problems cause the decline in the Sales. Let's see what are
the alternatives available to this key problems and how can we overcome with it. Some of the Key problems require funding, for example Media

What Caused The War Of 1812
During the 1800s, Great Britain was facing a crisis as there was a war with France looming over them. Along with this crisis, Great Britain was facing
conflicts with the United States. Great Britain was in a difficult situation as war broke out against France. At the same time, the United States was
looking for a "Second Independence" as they were trying to finally prove their independence from The British Empire. Great Britain faced more serious
matters with France as they were trying to stay free of French domination. America tried to cripple Great Britain in their war against France by
imposing embargos on the nation, but was unsuccessful as Great Britain had all the sources they needed to fight France. America realized they were
hurting themselves and declared war on Great Britain June 18, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Accordingly, the War of 1812 was viewed differently all around. There were 4 distinct versions of the accounts of the war (Foreman). You have the
point of view from the Canadians, the Native Americans, the British, and the Americans (Foreman). To the British, the War of 1812 was viewed as an
unimportant annoying side battle (Lambert). For the United States, it was a " war of second independence" ( ВЁWar of 1812ВЁ History.com). A
Canadian Historian, William Kingsford, said that this war is "an episode in history that makes everybody happy because everybody interprets it
differently...the English are happiest of all because they don't even know it happened" (Foreman). This quote from him shows how unimportant the
War of 1812 was to the British. The American war was fought with whatever money, staff, and naval forces that the British Empire could spare
(Lambert). No more than seven percent of the British military was used against the United States (Lambert). The fight with Napoleon was of greater
importance at the time because even though there was territory that could have been lost in the United

A History Of Capoeir Slavery In Africa
Some everyday objects like scissors or tweezers can also be used as weapons. But these things benefit people in many ways by cutting paper or
plucking their eyebrows. This makes them similar to Capoeira. Capoeira is a martial arts dance. It is also used as a fighting technique that has many
benefits as well. It is significant because it was founded during a time of slavery and has become very popular ever since. Capoeira is an interesting
martial art ritual significant to countries all over Africa.
Capoeira is considered many different things: a dance, a fight, or just entertainment. This ritual is said to be connected to another ritual, NВґgolo, an

The Challenge Of Sustainable Water Supply
1.0 Introduction The challenge of sustainable water supply and management in arid areas is magnified by the climatic condition of these regions.
The areas often experience a period of six rainless months every year. The areas also experience low and unpredictable annual precipitation of
around 100 to 500mm per year as well as extreme potential evaporation (Bunn et al. 2006, p.174). The impact of climate change primarily affects the
amount of fresh water supply in arid regions. There is a substantial decrease in the amount of fresh water in the regions due to these climatic variations.
The plan outlines two techniques of creating a diversified, and adaptive freshwater supply system in the arid regions worldwide. 2.0 Background Water

Arid areas need a concerted effort of every individual to contain this situation. This report offers two techniques that can be effectively used to ensure
availability of fresh water in arid regions. These techniques include artificial ground water recharge and desalination technology. The two methods
will be characterized by increased storage capacity to supplement the unreliable rainfall and lack of new fresh water supply in these areas during dry
spells (Kingsford, Biggs & Pollard 2011p.1196). Finally, the techniques will improve the production and supply systems for desalinated fresh water.
The graph represents fresh water supply in arid areas. With the change in climate conditions, the water supply level falls from 6.3mm/household to
5.4mm. The supply decreases further as shown by series 3 to a bear 2.0mm. This drastic fall must be deterred using the techniques that would be
proposed in this report. 3.0 Presentation of the two techniques 3.1Desalination technology Desalination is the process through which pure water is
recovered from saline water using various forms of technology. The two major commercial desalination technologies include thermal desalination and
membrane processes. Osman (2005, p.209) asserts that the technology is critical to water management, and it works independently of climatic factors.
Thus, the method can be used to supply fresh water consistently regardless of the weather in the arid regions. However, the technology is

Were the Crusades Successful?
RPCIII
14 November 2013
Were the Crusades Successful? Throughout the entirety of the Crusades, there were a multitude of goals that each combatant from the Christian,
Muslim, and Judaism were trying to achieve. There is a lurking question, and that is: were the Crusades a success for anyone? Some historians will
lecture that the Crusades were an overall success, some believe that they were only partially successful in conveying they're overall message. Then
there's the historians that will lecture that the Crusades were a complete failure. The Crusades, specifically the first Crusades, had two major
objectives. The main overall objective was to turn the control of religious sites back into Christian power. An underlying objective... Show more

This historian can see that from Islam's point of view, perhaps the Crusades were a miserable failure because their ancestors were not able to come
out on top in the Conflicts that would have ensured the overall victory of the Holy Wars. It is a good possibility that the Islamic and Arab nations
consider the Crusades a great failure since they were not able to expand throughout Europe. For example, had the Islamic and Arab nations succeeded
in defeating the Christian nations in their religious efforts, the European culture would have had a very dramatic change. Artwork would be different,
religious dominance and power distribution would be swayed in favor of Islam, and even the common language would have become Arabic. Whereas
in contrast, as it stands now that the Christians succeeded, that the culture, language, art, and every aspect that goes along with the Christian religion
and development of its presence. However, from any perspective, it can easily be determined that these two powerhouse religious groups would not
give up easily. The Crusades lasted about 200 years, making it the one of the longest conflicts, more specifically a religious conflict, in history. It was
especially difficult for the Christians because of the fact that they had to defend against the barbarian invasions in their attempt to overthrow
Constantinople. With the impending challenges facing the Christians and the Muslims as a whole, made this

History
Charcoal grilling is an American tradition that brings communities together through a shared celebration of food. An important aspect of grilling is
food preparation and charcoal is used to heat and cook food. Established in the 1920's by Henry Ford and his relative E.G. Kingsford, the purpose of
charcoal briquettes was to burn longer and hotter than regular wood. Through the years, the firm was purchased by an investment group and later
acquired by Clorox in 1973, which owns 50 other products that it distributes. Kingsford had one of the largest products groups ... Show more content on

Weather patterns have also impacted the grilling season and can potentially affect overall sales.
Alternatives
In a response to the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the organization, several alternatives should be considered in strategizing the
best way to increase the wealth of the organization.
Expand Product Line: Kingsford has the option to set the pace for charcoal innovation by expanding product lines to generate additional interest in
charcoal grilling. Engineering more environmentally friendly, flavor imparting and scented charcoals such as vanilla or mint flavored charcoal may
do this. In response to the trending up of gas grill usage from previous years, Kingsford could consider entering into wood chips production for gas
grills. Additionally, to prevent seeing charcoal as a seasonal product, awareness could be drawn to other uses of charcoal, such as an odor remover in
the home or a type of soil amendment by gardeners to improve crop growth. Education on these other uses will increase demand for charcoal all year
round and not just during the warm months when grilling is prevalent.
Increase advertising: An increase in advertising focusing on brand quality, affordability, and flavor adding benefit, as a way to counter the growth of
gas grilling is another alternative considered. Integrated marketing

Kingsford Legal Centre: Case Study
On my visit to the Kingsford Legal Centre (KLC) I was firstly challenged to remain professional by a conflict of my morals and my ethical
obligations. Client 1 was seeking advice on his charge regarding drink driving, which I find morally wrong. In hindsight, I can see that between
getting my brief and meeting Client 1, I applied Parker and Evan's three stages of ethical decision making to this conflict (2014: 16). I had to
become aware of what Foster refers to as 'subjective bias' created through socialization, and use critical thinking to recognize that I was judging the
client through my preconceived values (2003: 34). I could then apply my personal morals which obligate me to be respectful of those I am providing

Client 2 needed an interpreter, which meant advice was more difficult to convey and took much longer due to the need for translation. The ASCR
7.1 requires that solicitors give clear and timely advice to allow for informed choices. This is also in the spirit of the Legal Professional Uniform Law
(LPUL) which includes an objective in s 3(d) to empower clients. My solicitor employed an ethics of care model of lawyering by engaging the
interpreter in ensuring that the client understood the legal advice given in order to empower the client (Parker and Evans 2014: 46). Clear advice
empowering the client promotes public confidence in the justice system and the KLC (Mew in Baron and Corbin 2013: 99). Less time may be
needed to explain legal advice without an interpreter, but a matter may be more complex or the client more difficult. It is clear that effective
lawyering will involve clear advice, though models of lawyering such as responsible lawyering may not focus on empowering the client to the extent
my solicitor achieved (Parker and Evans 2014:

While this was technically each squad leader's' job for their own squad, the upperclassmen often avoided this duty. Dedication to the marching

my heart and soul into the band, my leadership style is casual. Around members of my section, I am often easy going, cracking jokes and laughing

2.5 KEY FINDINGS ON ANALYSIS
пѓ Kingsford has a very good business opportunity, as there is positive growth in BBQ grilling events. Outdoor grilling a culture in the US.
пѓ The main threat comes from gas grilling, which has several advantages like convenience and fast setup. Gas grilling has massive media spending,
which increases customers' awareness. Therefore, marketing strategies must focus on "attacking" gas grilling and improve the overall performance of
charcoal category.
пѓ Kingsford possess good MBAs and premium products, but inadequate A&P to communicate the advantages of charcoal grilling to consumers.
пѓ Current marketing efforts successfully increase Kingsford market share in charcoal category, but it lacks focus on customers' needs and wants
(Marketing Orientation).
пѓ The primary and unchallengeable advantage of charcoal grilling over gas grilling is the superior food taste. It is also supported by consumer survey.
пѓ Kingsford may face production capacity problem if sales volume grows.
3.0 Proposed Strategies to Increase Revenue and Profitability
Kingsford dominates the charcoal category but overall the category is on the decline due to substitution effect by the consumers, despite the overall

A Common Question About My Parent 's Nationality
A common question people like to ask is "Where are you from?" I've always wrestled with how to properly answer this question. I didn't know if I
should answer with my birth place, my parent's nationality or the area I spent most of premature life at. My family have moved a lot over our life
time, so much that people started to question if my parents where in the military moving from base to base. But they weren't, my parents emigrated
from Nigeria to America in the mid 1980's. Their first stop in America was Dallas, Texas. In Dallas my mother gave birth to both of my older sisters.
My family struggled for a well before I was born. My mother worked as a cleaning lady in a hotel and my father was an ice–cream man driver. After 7
years of the hot state which is Texas, my parents decide to go north and move to Minneapolis, Minnesota in pursuit of having better education and
career options, so they could properly take care of the family. On September, 24, 1994 I was born in Children's Hospital of Minneapolis,
Minnesota, but nearly a year later my family was the road again. After I turned 1 years old, I and my family move to Tulsa, Oklahoma. We came to
Tulsa because both my parents once again found better career jobs as Nurses. I spent a short amount of time in Tulsa. I started preschool at key

Introduction Grilling is engraved in American culture as well as a highly seasonal activity. Kingsford Charcoal is in the business of selling charcoal
for grills. Even though Kingsford increased its market share in 2000, their forecast indicates they will not reach the initial revenue mark. With the
charcoal market's growth slowing, and the gas grill market gaining market share, Kingsford needs to revise its strategy, and their marketing mix to meet
original expectations for itself and Clorox. The following report will identity the issues Kingsford faces in the market place and recommend actions to
take to resolve these problems. First we will examine ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As mentioned before, charcoal is well in the mature stage of the product cycle in which more advertising would be optimal. Charcoal should be
Kingsford's cash cow in which they can use the funds generated from them and invest it in research and development; so that they may introduce a new
product preferably in the gas grilling market in the near future. As with a stagnant price increase, the same can be said of advertising from Kingsford.
Their advertising budget has decreased throughout the years, while the gas grilling market has increased its' advertising budget each year.
MMA's analysis of 1998 spending shown that TV advertising can drive volume increase of around 7% for the current year and even a 3% to 4%
increase of volume purchased in the following year. This indicates the importance of advertising. One area which is lacking for the whole charcoal
category since Kingsford is the only brand that advertises at all for charcoal. Perhaps advertisements can show how charcoal grilling is the correct
and tasty way to grill instead of gas grilling. Kingsford can look to do blind tastings again and publish the findings. If they look to stretch the grilling
season they should look beyond just NASCAR events, but perhaps also with NFL sporting events, as well as other events and activities in which
grilling is popular. They could become a sponsor in which sports can endorse them

Klc Case Study
I
The clients visiting Kingsford Legal Centre (KLC) are often disadvantaged and experiencing hardships in their life, their needs sometimes 'slip through
the net' and were not listened or catered by the society, and this usually places them in a vulnerable situation. For instance, there are substantially
unequal bargaining powers when a client is facing employment issues, where the opposing party is the client's employer or the organisation
represented by a team of in–house legal counsels. The opposing party may, source any information that is relevant to the client, to leverage their own
position. KLC takes on a proactive approach by introducing confidentiality standards and procedures, aligning with client legal privilege, thus facilitates
a confidential and protected communication between the client and the staffs of KLC.
Community legal centres like the KLC are committed to providing disadvantaged clients with accesses to justice. The increasing ethical dilemma with

Kingsford Charcoal
Discussion questions for case Kingsford Charcoal 1. Describe the main challenges faced by brand managers Marcilie Smith Boyle and Allison Warren.
Of what relevant trends should they be aware?
Main challenges specifically relevant to brand managers at Kingsford Charcoal: * A slow down in the growth in the charcoal category from 4%
growth to just 2%, which is only predicted to decline further. *Possibly a symptom of weather conditions or changing consumer trends which lend
themselves toward gas grilling* * A rise in the use of gas grilling (shown through number of shipments), as opposed to charcoal grilling also may have
been a symptom of the underlying problem, that of the competitor's price increases * The decision of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Specifically, what action should they take in regard to pricing, advertising, promotion and production for the Kingsford brand?
Pricing: It would appear that Kingsford has, from CY99 – CY00 experienced the lowest percentage increase in price on a weighted average basis (see
exhibit 4). Coupled with the concerns from Smith Boyle that "retailers inevitably resist" price increases, a 3% price increase per year seems a
reasonable standard that the team should avoid exceeding.
However, a proposed plan may be to increase prices within a particular channel, namely the mass merchandisers. In line with exhibit 3, which shows
the only total year volume growth for CY00 in all channels of 3.5%, an acceptable price increase is 5% for this particular channel. Based on the
weighted average price increases (exhibit 4) of Royal Oak and Private Label, a 5% increase for Kingsford sits between the increases of the last year
that were offered by both these brands, exempting the instant 15# category.
This seeks to satisfy to some extent Gordon's idea that a price increase may induce short–term profits, but should not exacerbate Nick Vlahos' concern
that a price increase will have a negative impact on the firm's desire to drive out the Royal Oak brand.
Thus, the proposed prices for products in CY01 in all mass merchandising outlets should be:
Regular 10# = approximately $4.32
Regular 20# = approximately $7.19
Instant 8# = approximately

Descriptive Essay On A Game At A Volleyball Game
Michigan Tech Volleyball Game
The ball whipped through the air, echoing through the gym like the snap from a leather whip. Lauren, our libero, had served. I glanced at the flashing
scoreboard and winced at the score: 21–23. The other team had received the ball and were ready to set their outside hitter. Their hitter made a lightning
fast approach and the ball spun through the air over to our side, aimed right at me.
This was my first volleyball camp at Michigan Tech University this summer and I was ready. Coaches sorted us into teams, taught us some intermediate
skills revolving around the technique of the game, and scrimmaging from time to time. My team leader was Ali Gerring, a recent graduate from
Kingsford. We did bump–set–spike drills and six different rotations to get ready for our big scrimmage the next day. You could see the sweat
glistening on our faces, and smell the hard determination to improve. You could hear players call for the ball at every court yelling, "Mine, mine mine!"
At every practice there were different stations specializing in hitting (spiking), digging (bumping), and setting. We peppered with partners at some
stations and practiced serving at others. Our forearms were turning scarlet from digging so many balls and our necks started to ache after craning our
necks so many times setting the ball. We had to pick which position we wanted to play in the game and I picked outside hitter (player that spikes)
because I wanted to be the one that would

Kingsford Charcoal Marketing Strategy
Kingsford Charcoal Marketing Plan
Introduction:
Kingsford Charcoal ("Kingsford") is the leading brand of charcoal in the United States, and one of the largest product groups in the Clorox portfolio.
Three out of four households in the U.S. owns a barbecue, and grilling has grown in popularity year after year. Kingsford's revenues grew 1 to 3%
annually in the 1980's and 1990's. However, the summer results in July 2000 were below forecast. The drop in charcoal demand coincided with an
increase in demand for gas grills, due to the convenience of faster cooking and easier cleanup as compared to charcoal grills. Charcoal grilling beats

Advertising during NASCAR will create more sales in the fall, thus extending the peak season of grilling occasions. The goal should be to create more
events that people associate with barbecues, and to extend the popularity of the barbecue to the colder months.
Advertisements should focus on the authentic taste benefits of Kingsford charcoal over any alternative grilling option, thus appeasing the consumers
with the mindset of "Regular Exclusive" buyers who associate grilling with "integrity and masculinity...Providing for family, lighting a fire, grilling
with real charcoal." At the same time, the ads should point out the benefits of instant charcoal, thus appeasing consumers with the mindset of "Instant
Exclusive" buyers who seek "the fastest and easiest way to get a grilling experience." The goal should be to get men to see gas grilling as inferior and
weak, and Kingsford charcoal as the only authentic way to grill, while assuring them that Kingsford instant charcoal is easy to grill with compared to
other charcoals. Thus, Kingsford charcoal becomes seen as masculine yet convenient.
To encourage impulse buying, the sales team should convince retailers to prominently display Kingsford charcoal. Retailers will be encouraged by the
research that shows consumers who buy Kingsford charcoal spend 30% more money at the store. Retailers should be informed that it would be more
advantageous for them to focus on

Art : The Importance Of Art In Our Society
Society, it's complex, it's frustrating, it's something that we're all apart of. Art, it's complicated, it's lovely, it's a part of everyone's lives. Without art,
society would be unable to truly thrive. Art is one of the most important things that society could even dream of having. Life would be bland and
meaningless, there would be no personality and society would be completely emotionless. Art surrounds our daily lives and people fail to realize that.
Art created our society that we love so deeply, without it, life would not have a purpose. The Arts are important to understand the lives of others. I
personally surround myself with art. I use almost every different form of it in my daily life and without it, I don't know who I would be or how I
would even function properly. Surrounding myself with art and looking at how others view it helps me truly understand people. Whether it be how
someone looks at a painting or how they close their eyes to really feel a piece of music, art helps make others understand who people are and look
deeper into their own mindsets. It shows what kind of person they really are and how they act around beauty, and emotion, and the complex natures that
are the arts. The true reason that I am going into the arts is because I have never known anything else more important to me. I have never done
anything that wasn't art and I wouldn't know how. If you gave me a book with all the different fields possible, I would only look through the parts that

Three Gorges Dam Pros And Cons
The Three Gorges Dam has many costs and benefits which can make it arduous to oppose or support it (Stone, "Three Gorges Dam: Into the
Unknown", 2008). Weighing the pros and cons and finding a marginal offset can determine which side to opt for. The ecological, economic, and social
impacts are some of the most consequential factors which means they should be viewed meticulously. When looking at the costs and benefits it can be
concluded that the costs outweigh the benefits. Supporting the dam has too many costs and that is why it must be opposed. Let's put our focus on the
ecological cons. The fish can't go down the river all the way. In addition, it creates a lake which then creates too many nutrients. When too many
nutrients build up (like algae) it causes species such as fish to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This causes smaller aquatic fish to die off, and this eventually causes bigger aquatic fish who rely on consuming the smaller aquatic fish to die (Jobin,

nutrients. Ecosystems can't thrive without these ecosystem services because they tend the ecosystem such as caring for plants, et cetera (Newell, "The

Habitat changes will occur as well due to the effect of building the Three Gorges Dam. When water levels increase it can affect the way plants grow
because plants grow at different depths of a body of water. Different fish live at different levels of water as well, which can offset their habitats

In this case study, we will be analyzing the current position of how well Kingsford is within the marketplace and determine which of the issues are
plausible causes in its drop in revenue. We will be creating a comprehensive strategy as well as amarketing plan to evaluate and adjust the matter at
hand. First we will begin with identifying the issues and implementing a method to reemphasize the importance of marketing in the business. The goal
is to create a marketing plan that will add value to Kingsford's market share, sales, and profitability. It is evident that Kingsford is a superior product to

Many purchases are currently made during grilling seasons such as spring and summer but by transitioning the product towards the fall would increase
the profit margin.
A second alternative could be to increase their advertising budget because it has been the only brand within the charcoal industry that has been
advertising. Their advertising budget is currently very low so with an increase in spending it could definitely generate more attraction and promote
Kingsford charcoal as the better alternative.
Thirdly, option is to strategically adjust the prices of their products because consumers are often very price sensitive. By doing so the company can
either create more value that defines the quality and quantity of the product.
Lastly, the company suggest to expand their current inventory through increasing production and capacity. With the increase in production rate the
company can gain more consumers as a whole through supply and demand. Doing this would give the company an opportunity for more exposure and
perhaps better brand recognition.

Although charcoal had trended down since 1997, Kingsford reduced its media spending from over $6 million to $1 million, making the situation even
worse. In the other side, the substitute product increased their media spending from $4 million in 1998 to over $10 million in 2000.
Brand advertising
In previous years, we saw that TV advertising drove a 7 percent incremental volume increase in the targeted market during the same year and increased
3–4 percent the following year. In fact, Clorox should increase their advertising budget of at least $7 million, and focus on advertising through mass
Media. Moreover, because charcoal is a seasonal product, it is important to increase the brand advertisement during the peak season of April through
September. The advertising method should be oriented in order to show the advantages of using charcoal and compare it to the substitute product. The
main goal of the advertisement should be to motivated consumer to use Kingsford charcoal over any other substitute product or direct competitors.
They have to transmit the message that "Only charcoal gives a real barbecue flavor"
Promotion
The goal of the promotional activity is to increase the sales and consumers consumption of the all charcoal category by optimizing merchandising,
assortment, pricing and shelving. By example, within the merchandising, they

The General Analysis Of Invertebrate Richness And...
DISCUSSION
The general analysis of invertebrate richness and diversity prove that shallow leaf litter is more biodiverse than deep leaf litter. From graph 2, shallow
leaf litter is proven to be more biodiverse where the spread of invertebrate richness is higher with a relatively low rate of error denoted by the low
standard deviation. Similarly, figure 6 also shows a similar trend where the mean of shallow leaf litter diversity was greater than deep leaf litter. The
mean results of invertebrate abundance also show shallow leaf litter to be more abundant, however this is affected by the extreme outlier seen in
figure 2, where there is a large leeway for error due to the high standard deviation. This may be due to human error due to transcription, an error in
counting the amount of species or the designated shallow leaf litter contained species that were extremely common, providing a large abundance value.
However, figure 1 and the comparison of boxplots in graph 1, show the overall values of deep leaf litter are centred higher, indicating that deep leaf
litter has greater abundance, excluding outliers.
Similarly, the analysis of richness and diversity indicate that deep light traps are more biodiverse than shallow light traps and are quite trustworthy as
shown by the low standard deviations. According to figure 6, the mean of both habitats were very similar but deep light traps had a slightly higher
mean. Abundance of deep light traps also proves to be greater if we

Successful employment remains a critical issue for people with disabilities, although legislative mandates and a gradual change in attitudes across our
culture have brought about some improvement. The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 has clarified the legal rights of both individuals with

Informative Essay On Cirque Du Soleil
Cirque du Soleil
The show is full of excitement, it keeps you at the edge of your seat, and it grasps your imaginations. It's not like any other show you've seen live.
The circus brings to life wonderment only seen in dreams. I've only seen a circus in movies, and the acts mainly consist of uniquely appearing people
with special talents, clowns, and animal cruelty fueled performances. It intrigued me (not the animal cruelty part of course). Therefore, I got the idea to

co–founded in the 1984 at Baie–Saint–Paul, Quebec, Canada by Gilles Ste–Croix and Guy LalibertГ©. It was founded as a tour group for Quebec's

Great Barrier Reef Case Study

  • 1. Great Barrier Reef Case Study The Great Barrier Reef is one of the most beloved regions of the world but due to recent human activity in surrounding areas and subsequent sediment delivery, coral and seagrass habits within are being negatively impacted. Extending 2000km along the North–eastern Australian coast (Brodie et al., 2007), the Great Barrier Reef is a major source of income for Northern Australia and fuels the growth of local businesses. As industrialization in areas adjacent to the Great Barrier Reef lagoon have increased since European settlement (McCulloch et al., 2003), the need for more resources to compensate for human population has led to harmful land practices such as overstocking and deforestation for cattle grazing inland. These are causing a significant... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While relatively dry most of the year, in a short amount of time it can become one of Australia's largest rivers (Hutchings, Kingsford, & Hoegh–Guldberg, 2008), transporting unprecedented volumes of freshwater, sediments, and nutrients to the ocean (Hutchings, Kingsford, & Hoegh–Guldberg, 2008). While the majority of the delivered sediments stay within 50km of the river mouth (Lewis, Olley, Furuichi, Sharma, & Burton, 2014, pp. 146), clay sized particles are then brought north through drift processes (Lewis, Olley, Furuichi, Sharma, & Burton, 2014, pp. 146), creating a plume that that can extend in a band up to 50km from the coast (Devlin & Brodie, 2004, pp.9–22). These fine sediments do not travel in water currents and instead tend to settle in calm waters, forming mud banks in sheltered areas (Brodie, Wolanski, Lewis, & Bainbridge, 2012, pp. 267) and directly affecting the inner reef corals by increasing ... What were some of the ethical and/or professional issues and considerations that arose during your interviewing sessions? How were these issues addressed or resolved? How might they be different from working with other types of clients? (350 words) One ethical issue that arose during the interview session was the client's mental health issues. I decided not to delve into these mental health issues further because it was not relevant to his matter which was about the wording of his employment contract. I tried to use Parker and Evans three step model of ethical reflection in making this decision. Firstly, I was aware of the ethical issue as I the client told me that he had some mental health issues (Parker and Evans). The two options were either to address the issues or not to address the issues. Secondly, in applying ethical standards, there are no rules in the Solicitor's Rules on dealing with clients with mental health issues. However, in considering the four models of lawyering, I adopted an adversarial advocate/responsible lawyer approach as my main concern was discerning the relevant facts of the case to ensure that I could serve the best interests of the client in relation to his legal issue (Parker and Evans). However, if I had adopted an ethics of care approach I may have asked him about his mental health issues and whether he was seeking help. This is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The areas also experience low and unpredictable annual precipitation of around 100 to 500mm per year as well as extreme potential evaporation (Bunn et al. 2006, p.174). The impact of climate change primarily affects the amount of fresh water supply in arid regions. There is a substantial decrease in the amount of fresh water in the regions due to these climatic variations. The plan outlines two techniques of creating a diversified, and adaptive freshwater supply system in the arid regions worldwide. 2.0 Background Water is an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Arid areas need a concerted effort of every individual to contain this situation. This report offers two techniques that can be effectively used to ensure availability of fresh water in arid regions. These techniques include artificial ground water recharge and desalination technology. The two methods will be characterized by increased storage capacity to supplement the unreliable rainfall and lack of new fresh water supply in these areas during dry spells (Kingsford, Biggs & Pollard 2011p.1196). Finally, the techniques will improve the production and supply systems for desalinated fresh water. The graph represents fresh water supply in arid areas. With the change in climate conditions, the water supply level falls from 6.3mm/household to 5.4mm. The supply decreases further as shown by series 3 to a bear 2.0mm. This drastic fall must be deterred using the techniques that would be proposed in this report. 3.0 Presentation of the two techniques 3.1Desalination technology Desalination is the process through which pure water is recovered from saline water using various forms of technology. The two major commercial desalination technologies include thermal desalination and membrane processes. Osman (2005, p.209) asserts that the technology is critical to water management, and it works independently of climatic factors. Thus, the method can be used to supply fresh water consistently regardless of the weather in the arid regions. However, the technology is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Throughout the entirety of the Crusades, there were a multitude of goals that each combatant from the Christian, Muslim, and Judaism were trying to achieve. There is a lurking question, and that is: were the Crusades a success for anyone? Some historians will lecture that the Crusades were an overall success, some believe that they were only partially successful in conveying they're overall message. This historian can see that from Islam's point of view, perhaps the Crusades were a miserable failure because their ancestors were not able to come out on top in the Conflicts that would have ensured the overall victory of the Holy Wars. It is a good possibility that the Islamic and Arab nations consider the Crusades a great failure since they were not able to expand throughout Europe. For example, had the Islamic and Arab nations succeeded in defeating the Christian nations in their religious efforts, the European culture would have had a very dramatic change. Artwork would be different, religious dominance and power distribution would be swayed in favor of Islam, and even the common language would have become Arabic. Whereas in contrast, as it stands now that the Christians succeeded, that the culture, language, art, and every aspect that goes along with the Christian religion and development of its presence. However, from any perspective, it can easily be determined that these two powerhouse religious groups would not give up easily. The Crusades lasted about 200 years, making it the one of the longest conflicts, more specifically a religious conflict, in history. It was especially difficult for the Christians because of the fact that they had to defend against the barbarian invasions in their attempt to overthrow Constantinople. Kingsford Charcoal Case Case Study Analysis: Kingsford Charcoal | MGMT 563 Marketing Management September 18, 2012| Cheryl Banks, Jacqueline Robinson, Mabel Tsahey, Stephanie White| History Charcoal grilling is an American tradition that brings communities together through a shared celebration of food. An important aspect of grilling is food preparation and charcoal is used to heat and cook food. Established in the 1920's by Henry Ford and his relative E.G. Kingsford, the purpose of charcoal briquettes was to burn longer and hotter than regular wood. Through the years, the firm was purchased by an investment group and later acquired by Clorox in 1973, which owns 50 other products that it distributes. Alternatives In a response to the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats to the organization, several alternatives should be considered in strategizing the best way to increase the wealth of the organization. Expand Product Line: Kingsford has the option to set the pace for charcoal innovation by expanding product lines to generate additional interest in charcoal grilling. Engineering more environmentally friendly, flavor imparting and scented charcoals such as vanilla or mint flavored charcoal may do this. In response to the trending up of gas grill usage from previous years, Kingsford could consider entering into wood chips production for gas grills. Additionally, to prevent seeing charcoal as a seasonal product, awareness could be drawn to other uses of charcoal, such as an odor remover in the home or a type of soil amendment by gardeners to improve crop growth. Education on these other uses will increase demand for charcoal all year round and not just during the warm months when grilling is prevalent. Increase advertising: An increase in advertising focusing on brand quality, affordability, and flavor adding benefit, as a way to counter the growth of gas grilling is another alternative considered. In hindsight, I can see that between getting my brief and meeting Client 1, I applied Parker and Evan's three stages of ethical decision making to this conflict (2014: 16). As with a stagnant price increase, the same can be said of advertising from Kingsford. Their advertising budget has decreased throughout the years, while the gas grilling market has increased its' advertising budget each year. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Specifically, what action should they take in regard to pricing, advertising, promotion and production for the Kingsford brand? Pricing: It would appear that Kingsford has, from CY99 – CY00 experienced the lowest percentage increase in price on a weighted average basis (see exhibit 4). Coupled with the concerns from Smith Boyle that "retailers inevitably resist" price increases, a 3% price increase per year seems a reasonable standard that the team should avoid exceeding. However, a proposed plan may be to increase prices within a particular channel, namely the mass merchandisers. In line with exhibit 3, which shows the only total year volume growth for CY00 in all channels of 3.5%, an acceptable price increase is 5% for this particular channel. Based on the weighted average price increases (exhibit 4) of Royal Oak and Private Label, a 5% increase for Kingsford sits between the increases of the last year that were offered by both these brands, exempting the instant 15# category. This seeks to satisfy to some extent Gordon's idea that a price increase may induce short–term profits, but should not exacerbate Nick Vlahos' concern that a price increase will have a negative impact on the firm's desire to drive out the Royal Oak brand. Thus, the proposed prices for products in CY01 in all mass merchandising outlets should be: Regular 10# = approximately $4.32 Regular 20# = approximately $7.19 Instant 8# = approximately ... Advertisements should focus on the authentic taste benefits of Kingsford charcoal over any alternative grilling option, thus appeasing the consumers with the mindset of "Regular Exclusive" buyers who associate grilling with "integrity and masculinity...Providing for family, lighting a fire, grilling with real charcoal." At the same time, the ads should point out the benefits of instant charcoal, thus appeasing consumers with the mindset of "Instant Exclusive" buyers who seek "the fastest and easiest way to get a grilling experience." The goal should be to get men to see gas grilling as inferior and weak, and Kingsford charcoal as the only authentic way to grill, while assuring them that Kingsford instant charcoal is easy to grill with compared to other charcoals. Thus, Kingsford charcoal becomes seen as masculine yet convenient. To encourage impulse buying, the sales team should convince retailers to prominently display Kingsford charcoal. • 30. Art : The Importance Of Art In Our Society Society, it's complex, it's frustrating, it's something that we're all apart of. Art, it's complicated, it's lovely, it's a part of everyone's lives. Without art, society would be unable to truly thrive. Art is one of the most important things that society could even dream of having. Life would be bland and meaningless, there would be no personality and society would be completely emotionless. Art surrounds our daily lives and people fail to realize that. Art created our society that we love so deeply, without it, life would not have a purpose. The Arts are important to understand the lives of others. I personally surround myself with art. I use almost every different form of it in my daily life and without it, I don't know who I would be or how I would even function properly. Surrounding myself with art and looking at how others view it helps me truly understand people. Whether it be how someone looks at a painting or how they close their eyes to really feel a piece of music, art helps make others understand who people are and look deeper into their own mindsets. It shows what kind of person they really are and how they act around beauty, and emotion, and the complex natures that are the arts. The true reason that I am going into the arts is because I have never known anything else more important to me. I have never done anything that wasn't art and I wouldn't know how. • 31. Three Gorges Dam Pros And Cons The Three Gorges Dam has many costs and benefits which can make it arduous to oppose or support it (Stone, "Three Gorges Dam: Into the Unknown", 2008). Weighing the pros and cons and finding a marginal offset can determine which side to opt for. The ecological, economic, and social impacts are some of the most consequential factors which means they should be viewed meticulously. When looking at the costs and benefits it can be concluded that the costs outweigh the benefits. Supporting the dam has too many costs and that is why it must be opposed. Let's put our focus on the ecological cons. The fish can't go down the river all the way. In addition, it creates a lake which then creates too many nutrients. In America, making barbecue is a culinary art. Cooking Barbecue produces more than simply grilling a steak or a burger; it is associated with a fun and festive spirit. As it is written in the case, "It's about playing with fire under an open sky, wielding a mean spatula in one hand, a cool drink in the others." In the other side, the substitute product increased their media spending from $4 million in 1998 to over $10 million in 2000. Brand advertising In previous years, we saw that TV advertising drove a 7 percent incremental volume increase in the targeted market during the same year and increased 3–4 percent the following year. In fact, Clorox should increase their advertising budget of at least $7 million, and focus on advertising through mass Media. Moreover, because charcoal is a seasonal product, it is important to increase the brand advertisement during the peak season of April through September. The advertising method should be oriented in order to show the advantages of using charcoal and compare it to the substitute product. The main goal of the advertisement should be to motivated consumer to use Kingsford charcoal over any other substitute product or direct competitors. That's what happened to me the night before I played at the varsity tournament at Niagra. But first, let's go back to the beginning of when this all started. My first time working with Coach Sandy was about March of 2016. She started up a clinic for the entire middle school, and only about seven girls showed up. I thought that was terrible at the time, but now I realize that all of the one on one with Coach Sandy helped me a lot. Anyways, Coach kept working with me and we figured out that I was a setter. After about four weeks of hard work, track started, and Coach stopped the clinic. That was the beginning of my varsity experience. The next time I saw Coach Sandy after the clinic was at the track meet in Kingsford. I saw her talking to my mom, and I really didn't think anything of it. My mom told me afterward, however, that if I worked hard, that Coach Sandy wanted me as her setter my sophomore year, and I got jacked. In June, Coach Sandy really started working with me. • 39. The General Analysis Of Invertebrate Richness And... DISCUSSION The general analysis of invertebrate richness and diversity prove that shallow leaf litter is more biodiverse than deep leaf litter. From graph 2, shallow leaf litter is proven to be more biodiverse where the spread of invertebrate richness is higher with a relatively low rate of error denoted by the low standard deviation. Similarly, figure 6 also shows a similar trend where the mean of shallow leaf litter diversity was greater than deep leaf litter. The mean results of invertebrate abundance also show shallow leaf litter to be more abundant, however this is affected by the extreme outlier seen in figure 2, where there is a large leeway for error due to the high standard deviation. This may be due to human error due to transcription, an error in counting the amount of species or the designated shallow leaf litter contained species that were extremely common, providing a large abundance value. However, figure 1 and the comparison of boxplots in graph 1, show the overall values of deep leaf litter are centred higher, indicating that deep leaf litter has greater abundance, excluding outliers. Similarly, the analysis of richness and diversity indicate that deep light traps are more biodiverse than shallow light traps and are quite trustworthy as shown by the low standard deviations. According to figure 6, the mean of both habitats were very similar but deep light traps had a slightly higher mean. Abundance of deep light traps also proves to be greater if we ... It's not like any other show you've seen live. The circus brings to life wonderment only seen in dreams. I've only seen a circus in movies, and the acts mainly consist of uniquely appearing people with special talents, clowns, and animal cruelty fueled performances. It intrigued me (not the animal cruelty part of course). Therefore, I got the idea to find a circus that is alive and thriving today. What I found is sensational; Cirque du Soleil. Cirque du Soleil is an entertainment company that was co–founded in the 1984 at Baie–Saint–Paul, Quebec, Canada by Gilles Ste–Croix and Guy LalibertГ©. It was founded as a tour group for Quebec's 450th anniversary of Jacques Cartier's discovery of Canada.
