Secondary Research
The readership profile of the NME
magazine consists of lots of different
information and statistics of the target
audience of this music magazine. The
information within this readership profile
will make advertises become informed of
the statistics and furthermore deciding
whether they would want to advertise this
magazine or not. The images used on the
page are a collage of images that would be
enjoyed/used/appealto the readers, thus
representing that this magazine has specifically beenmade for a
particular audience. Advertisers will read this page and be informed of
wat NME reader’s use/like therefore giving a clear understanding of
ideas ta may be advertised to also attract NME readers to other things. It
also gives a clear representation of that certain target audience which
we may be able to assume other things the will like. The statistics of the
readership page shows the gender and age in a percentage to how
many people are likely to read this magazine. This gives a broad
overview of the target audience to NME and lead advertisers to come to
the conclusion of wat productthey would advertise due to the audience
that are targeted to read NME. The colours are green and blue which
have connotations of life and growth. These colours also give an insight
to the type of target audience as the colour green implies a
teenage/adult audience as they are old enough to begin their own life
and the blue implies water and growth which also implies grown up,
overall these colours assume to the advertisers that the target audience
is a teen/adult audience. The NME logo is at the top of the page which
gives the representation that this page is important due to the use of the
magazine identity. The language used also conforms to an older
audience as it is formal. This also gives the advertisers a clear
understanding of the target audience.
The readership profile of the
magazine UNCUT has information
and statistics of the target audience
in his music magazine. The
information of the readership profile
gives the advertisers clear ideas of
what this target audience will enjoy.
The statistics give the advertisers
advanced ideas of how the target
audience enjoy this magazine ad the
age range and gender.The colours
used are red, white a black which
presentthe same colours of the
masthead (therefore showing
magazine identity) but also implies danger. This may suggestthat the
target audience would like to believe themselves to be risky and daring
therefore implying the male gender (stereotypically). The images on the
readership page also gives the advertisers clear ideas of what hat
specifictarget audience enjoy and like. This will lead advertisers to
believe what is bestto advertise for this target audience. The language
used for this readership profile is formal; therefore the magazine targets
an older audience thus creating the target audience.
Overall, I believe this magazine to be targeted to an adult male do to the
representations on the page. This makes it easier for the advertisers to
define who the target audience is.
This will help me decide my targetaudienceas I know that certain
images and colours usedwill conform to one genderand the
languageand layoutused with also defer the age of the target
audiencefrom any other audience.
Overall, my magazine is going to have the target audience of a teenage
to adult age range 16-30 as the language is going to be formal thus
appealing to an older audience.
The colours used are going to be neutral to stereotypically conform to
both genders therefore making the magazine appeal to a wider
audience.
My target audience is going to be;
A unisex magazine for ages 16-30

NME Readership Profile Provides Advertisers Insights

  • 1. Secondary Research The readership profile of the NME magazine consists of lots of different information and statistics of the target audience of this music magazine. The information within this readership profile will make advertises become informed of the statistics and furthermore deciding whether they would want to advertise this magazine or not. The images used on the page are a collage of images that would be enjoyed/used/appealto the readers, thus representing that this magazine has specifically beenmade for a particular audience.
