A2 Media proposal for horror film trailer

1. PROPOSAL

2. PLOT IDEA
• Group of girls are home alone for the night, the news is on
in the background about a serial killer on the loose but they
don’t realize, they all plan to go out but then their plans
change when the hear noises and want to investigate.
There is someone in the house but they think it’s a game
between each other until there is screaming and one girl
goes missing, they are then wondering who is next, can
they escape.

3. CINEMATOGRAPHY
• Establishing shot to show the house they are in
• Close ups to show facial impressions e.g. a victim who is in fear
• Over the shoulder shot to show suspect secretly looking at
victim

4. EDITING
• Short jumpy clips of peak narratives
• A fade or dissolve transition to show sub titles
• Simple straight cut to add flow

5. SOUNDTRACK
• Enhanced sounds at pecks of trailer, e.g. when there is tension
from the girls wondering who is in there house
• Subtle score through out the trailer, in the background
• Screaming from the victims
• Creepy tones, eerie

6. MISE-EN-SCENE
• Modern day house
• Modern clothing
• Killer wears dark clothing, hidden face
• High key lighting in the beginning then quickly changes to low
key when things start going wrong.
