TREATMENT

2. PLOT IDEA
It’s the weekend of Halloween and two girls are home alone for the
weekend. The girls are getting ready and see on the news that
there is a cereal killer on the lose, one of them makes a joke about
it but nothing more is said. The party starts and everybody is
turning up in their Halloween costumes, but a group of mysterious
people turn up that are dressed more unusual than others. The
music is then cut off by some one and someone is heard
screaming upstairs, the two girls go to investigate and find a dead
body in the bathroom. Everyone is left wondering who is next.

3. CINEMATOGRAPHY
• High angle shot of the party
• Over the should shot as if people are being watched
• Close ups of victims scared faces
• Mid shots of troughs in the scene
• Establishing shot of the house
• Over the shoulder shot of somebody looking into the house
• Montage towards the end of the trailer - shots of people screaming,
the masked killers individually in different places, shot of dead body,
someone running down stairs screaming in fear, final close up shot of
masked killer, then fade to black screen and subtitle on screen, one
final shot at very end of someone being dragged away – jump scare.

4. EDITING
• Titles throughout the trailer to inform audience e.g.. ‘This
Halloween’
• Slow straight cuts in the beginning of the trailer then fast straight
cuts for fast quick scenes in the peaks of the trailer.
• A fade transition into a black screen

5. SOUNDTRACK
• Heavy Breathing
• Screams
• Sounds from party (music)
• Enhanced sounds at peak narratives
• Deep sounds to create an eerie atmosphere
• Sound of music being cut off

6. MISE-EN-SCENE
• Detached modern house and inside
• Police station to film news scene
• Formal wear for news presenter
• Halloween costumes for party people
• Scared/shocked facial expressions
• Low key, dim lighting
• Shadows
