This document is a script that follows the kidnapping of a 10-year-old girl named April Lovett. Now inside the shed, the kidnapper clicksa light switch and it cutsto
the light bulb lighting up asa credit appearsas the light dissolves.
Cut to panning shot of the lake, then quickly toa close up of a picture
of April beforeIt zooms out and we see there aremultiplepicturesof
her. Credit appearsas the camera zooms out.
Cut to April walking down thestreet as carspass by
NewsReporter voiceover 1: April Lovett, a 10 year old girl from surrey, has
been reported missing by her parents after not returning home for 24 hours.
Police say they are compiling evidence from her last known whereabouts.
and then whilethe new reporter is still talking wecut to the same
street but fromhigh aboveand from the kidnappershandheld
camera,zooms out slowly.Credit appearsduring thisshot.

2. April walking down a different street,heading towardsan alleyway.
Credit appearsand another news reporter voiceover,overlapsthe
end of the last reporter.
NewsReporter voiceover 2: Aprils mother says she expected April home
from the park around 4:30 but became concerned when she did not return home
for several hours.
Blackscreen, movie’s titleappears:“THE PURSUANT”
Backto the alleyway,shot fromthe backof April asshe continues
walking,cutsto the front view of her, a credit appears.Another News
Reporter voiceover chimesin over the end of the last reporter.
Shaky,handheld camera shot of a river, fairly zoomed in,
disorientating.Credit.Cut to inside the kidnappersshed, he sharpens
twoknives behind a wirefence, by the cork board.Credit. -a
voiceover:
NewsReporter voiceover 3: Multiple locals, including the neighbors of
April’s parents, claim to have heard screams at around 4:30.
A girlsscreamis faintly heard in thebackground. Another voiceover
overlaps.
NewsReporter voiceover 4: There are currently no suspects in the case but
the police have asked for any information or witnesses.
As the voiceover plays,we cut to April coming out of the alleyway,
credit appears. Back to the kidnappers shed, he drags the knife
over a picture of April on the corkboard, flashing filter.
NewsReporter voiceover 1: Local Parents are supposedly becoming
concerned as many believe there may be a pattern occurring due to April being
the 3rd girl to go missing in the last 2 years in the county
NewsReporter voiceover 5: 10 year old April, is the third girl to go missing
in the county in the last 2 years.

3. Whilethe voiceover playswehavecut to the kidnapper opening a
wirefence door in the shed, and dropping ropeonto a small bed next
to duct tapeand some typeof child’stoy e.g. a doll.
April walksacrossroad,camera comes closer behind her, eventually
turning tothe front of her faceand weget a quickside profile.Cut
backto the kidnappersshed and a sweeping shot of the corkboard,
getting a closer look at the pictures,credit appears.
NewsReporter voiceover 3: If you know anything about Aprils location or
disappearance you are encouraged to call your local police station with the
details.
April on a swing in parkbriefly,cutsbackto panning shot of the
small bed in the shed, made to look like itsbeing filmed from a
surveillancecamera that haspossibly been fitted in the shed. Backto

disappearanceof April Lovett and theman hunt for her kidnapper
continues.

April walksdown alleyway,jump cuts.Sceen goes fuzzy briefly as

nationwideknowledgeand the outpour of support for her parents
continues.
Over the shoulder shot of the kidnapper watching April walkacross
the park,switchesto his handheld camera filming it.

4. News Reporter voiceover: As the search continuesand with there
still being no suspects, the nation is left wondering;whereis April
Lovett?
As the voiceover plays, low angle shot of the kidnaper
twirling a dolls hair in his hand, he drops it, black screen,
crashing sound.
