2. What is modernism? When was it?
• Factors that shaped Modernism was the
development of modern industrial societies and the
rapid growth of cities. It is a social progressive trend
that happens culturally.
3. What is post modernism all about?
• Post modernism is a late 20th century
movement that followed from modernism in
the mid 20th century. We are currently living in
post modernism.
5. How are they postmodernism?
• Pop arts are postmodernism because they
express a postmodern sensibility. They are
also overexposed objects to satirize modern
art's preoccupation with "challenging"
classical notions of art.
• Postmodern art is a body of art movements
that sought to contradict some aspects of
modernism or some aspects that emerged or
developed.
6. How do postmodernism differ from
modernism?
• Post modernism is what we live in currently
and it is after modernism which took place
during the end of the 19th century up until the
early 20th century (1950’s) and it was then
that postmodernism started to evolve .
7. • Modernism was influenced by new technologies and
ideologies from that period, (cars, airplanes, radios)
the artists had to stick to “traditional” aspects and not
being able to express their own ideas.
• Postmodernism was a response of modernism. It
occurred due to the fact that there were no new ideas
or forms to be found in art for around100 years,
therefore the modernism era was the time to come up
with something "new" or "modern” and very unique.
