2. As you can see more females answered
my questionnaire therefore this is slightly
biased towards females. Only 1 out of the
8 people who answered by questionnaire
were male. Therefore my results might not
be fully reliable and I need to take this into
consideration when creating my own film
trailer.
5 people from the age range 16-21
answered my questionnaire and the other
3 people were 38 or older. The majority of
my results should be reliable as the target
audience for a crime/thriller genre is 16-25
year olds disregarding the previous
question.
3. I then asked ‘In a film trailer what
persuades you to watch the film?’ . All 8
people answered with the storyline.
Therefore when I am creating my film
trailer I will focus on the storyline making
sure all aspects appeal to my target
audience. This is because I know it will
attract my audience and persuade them
to watch the film which is the purpose of
a trailer.
My next question was about what the
audience would expect to see in a
crime/thriller trailer. 50% answered with
violence, 25% with adult actors and the
other 25% with illegal activities. In my
film trailer I will include all of these
elements as I know this is what the
audience expect to see. I will include gun
crime and drugs which will appeal to my
audience .
4. I also asked what props they would like to
see in a crime/thriller trailer. The most
popular answers were cash and a police
car with 7 people choosing this answer.
Guns, helicopter, car and boats were other
common answers. I shall include a variety
of these props in my trailer as I now know
that these all interest and entice my
audience.
My next question was ‘what is your favourite crime/thriller film?’ Popular answers
consisted of Jack Reacher, Taken and Die Hard. These films include investigations,
hostages and gun crime therefore I will include some of these elements in my trailer.
I also asked ‘what events do you expect to see in a crime/thriller film?’ . Action, car
chases, illegal activities, violence and robberies. I shall include crime in my trailer as I
know it will appeal to the audience.
5. My last question was ‘How long do
you expect a film trailer to be?’. 4
people answered with 2-3 minutes
making this the most popular answer.
I shall make my film trailer between
this time range as I know it will be
appropriate - it won’t be too long or
too short.
This is an example of one persons answers to my questionnaire. This specific information
will be useful to me as they fit into my target audience. I will try to include many elements
that they have chosen/suggested as I know that it will appeal to the target audience of a
crime/thriller film.
