1. Sin city
I am going to analyse sin city. As
you can see it as a very dark
background. All the characters
faces are in colour unlike the
background, the background is
black and grey this makes the
characters stand out. It also makes
them look more intimidating as
you’ll be intimidated by the fact
that there is no colour behind
them. They have a very dark and
mysterious life. The character at
the left hand side is represented
as crazy and an unstable
character. The only colour on the
screen is red. This brings attention
to the title. But even though it’s
red it still represents danger and
the possible power of the
characters. The font is quite large.
This could tie in with these
characters being sinful and evil.
Apart from that the font is very
bold and easy to read. The male
characters in this poster are
holding guns. This shows the
danger of the people. The man at
the front is looking down at something a presuming pointing the gun at it. The man’s facial
expression shows he is not messing around he is a character to be taken seriously. There is
shadows on these people’s faces which shows mystery. It also shows a dark side to these
people. They are all wearing black. This shows tragedy in these people’s lives. It gives a sense of
revenge. The weather in this poster is not very nice. It is raining. It gives the poster a sense of
mystery, pathetic fallacy. The small person in the corner of the screen has lighting flashing. This
makes him stand out. This could mean that one of the characters is different from the rest. He
is quite a small figure so this could mean he doesn’t have much to do with the story until
something happens at the end and he turns out to be the main character who changes the
story. The characters are set out in a format like they are defending themselves from
something.
