Working Title:
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Audience:
As my product will be print design for an event for a videogame convention I feel my target
audience will be best suited for males aged from 18-35 as the majority of the video game
community is loosely made up of 18-35-year olds. There is a large scale of young teenage males
that play videogames, but I am going for a mature outlook on the event so that older players do not
feel the event is too childish for them. Designing print items for older audience’s means I don’t
have to use as brighter colours to grab the attentions but give them good quality information to
appeal to them. I will also be targeting 18-35-year olds, as people at that age want to go out and
meet new people and have lots of different experiences which is perfect for advertising an event
with many people going. Targeting people with the social statues of C2-C1 as they will have the
time for the event and be able to afford the tickets as I have already found out what pricing of
tickets the community feel they are comfortable to pay for a videogame convention, due to my
survey I dispatched. My target audience will be belongers will be drawn to the convention as they
can feel part of a community and share their knowledge on the game, so they seem to the
belongers as an achiever. I will advertise that there will be LAN matches so that the people get to
show off their skills and traits in the game ‘to see who’s the best’. This will encourage young
belongers to try and become the best and become an achiever.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Use the
Audience Classifications PowerPoint on Blackboard to help you develop this section.
Why would your project appeal to this person? Discuss each audience element in relation to
content (why would your product appeal to the age group? Why would your product appeal to the
gender? Etc.)
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I feel I have a strong passion for print design as I like to design creative and unique items that will
entice people and make them want see what the event is about. Over the year I have built up a
strong knowledge how to layout print so that the text is clear for the customer to read and also so
that it is organised and looks neat and to a professional standard. I also have a good knowledge in
how to make the magazine stand out from the rest. I would say I am best at communicating
through emails as I find it is a better way to communicate, because you have can have a copy of
what your colleague is asking for in case you forget. I find it easiest to make a schedule when
organising my work as I like to have deadlines to work as I feel it is best way to get a project
complete in time. I think I am a good team leader as I am vocal and organised and also very open
to other suggestions on how to make a product better, as I feel the more suggestions that are
being passed around and developed will create a more unique and flawless product.
Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired?
How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project?
What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
I am going to design a series of posters, magazine front cover, double page spread and a logo
design, also if I have additional time I will be making a fan page for the event and possibly if I have
time I will design the tickets for the event. All the different advertisement products will link together
to make the event seem like it has a high amount of interest which would then make more people
want to attend the event. The advertisement will be for the people that are interested in finding out
information about the video game industry, latest gaming news, newest games that will be realised
and also a chance to LAN with your friends or compete with strangers to win a prize. For the
poster I will have to collect images of pc’s Xbox’s and PlayStation and all the other top gaming
consoles which will show the customers that there is something for everyone. I will have to
research the top 5 gaming consoles to make sure that there I am not missing anything out which
would make some gamers not want to go if their favoured console is not there. I will also have to
research the new games that are being released as it will show the customer that there is new and
exciting content that they can find out about at the event which will interest the into attending. I will
also have to look at an InDesign tutorial so that my knowledge and skills are up to date with any
new advances and updates as I haven’t used InDesign for a while.

What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make?
What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I intend to evaluate my work by using my peers to have a look at my products and give their
opinions on my product as I can have an opinion from someone who is actually in my target
audience range (18-35 years old). This will give me a good idea of what is good and bad about my
product and what I could do to improve my work next time to make a better product. Also I will
make sure my contingency timing is well ordered so that I have time at the end to improve and
check over my work before I submit it.
How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final
self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.

I also have a good knowledge in how to make the magazine stand out from the rest. I would say I am best at communicating through emails as I find it is a better way to communicate, because you have can have a copy of what your colleague is asking for in case you forget. I find it easiest to make a schedule when organising my work as I like to have deadlines to work as I feel it is best way to get a project complete in time. I think I am a good team leader as I am vocal and organised and also very open to other suggestions on how to make a product better, as I feel the more suggestions that are being passed around and developed will create a more unique and flawless product. Review your progress throughout the year- what skills and knowledge have you acquired? How has the subjects you have studied this year informed your choice for this project? What have you studied and how will it have a direct impact upon your project? Project Concept (approx. 200 words) I am going to design a series of posters, magazine front cover, double page spread and a logo design, also if I have additional time I will be making a fan page for the event and possibly if I have time I will design the tickets for the event. All the different advertisement products will link together to make the event seem like it has a high amount of interest which would then make more people want to attend the event. The advertisement will be for the people that are interested in finding out information about the video game industry, latest gaming news, newest games that will be realised and also a chance to LAN with your friends or compete with strangers to win a prize. For the poster I will have to collect images of pc’s Xbox’s and PlayStation and all the other top gaming consoles which will show the customers that there is something for everyone. I will have to research the top 5 gaming consoles to make sure that there I am not missing anything out which would make some gamers not want to go if their favoured console is not there. I will also have to research the new games that are being released as it will show the customer that there is new and exciting content that they can find out about at the event which will interest the into attending. I will also have to look at an InDesign tutorial so that my knowledge and skills are up to date with any new advances and updates as I haven’t used InDesign for a while.
  • 2. Proposal 2 What is the concept for your project and what are you going to make? What research will you need to conduct and how will it help you make your project/ Evaluation (approx. 50 words) I intend to evaluate my work by using my peers to have a look at my products and give their opinions on my product as I can have an opinion from someone who is actually in my target audience range (18-35 years old). This will give me a good idea of what is good and bad about my product and what I could do to improve my work next time to make a better product. Also I will make sure my contingency timing is well ordered so that I have time at the end to improve and check over my work before I submit it. How do you plan to evaluate the work? Reference conducting on-going evaluation and your final self-reflection, analysing your work and its outcomes.
