Audience
my target audience are aged 16-24, this is why I have chosen to create a
student guide of fun things to do around York city centre this will appeal to
new students that will havejustrecently turned 18 and are looking for some
cool drinking bars to go to with friends. My studentguide will also appeal to
new students that have come from across the country and don’thave a big
idea of what to do in York. As of the gender I am targeting there is no specific
gender that I am aiming for and I will keep it balanced and cater for both males
and females. I will include shops such as Zara, New look and Hollywood nails
for females, and Topman, levis and urban outfitters for males. I will also
include bars and other activities that will appeal to both genders. My student
guide will appeal to students with all social statues as it is information and
promotions for activities to do in York and inevitably it is up to them weather
they would like to go to the events.
Rational
I have chosen to make a student guide showing all the local bars and hot spots
for students to visitusing the social media platform Instagram. I havealso
included promotions for activities that underage people can do and also all the
shops students can browsearound the centre of town. As I’m a regular user of
social media, I already have experience on the site, this gives me a head start
in understanding whatpeople would like to see on the page. Being in the age
group of my audience myself, this allows me to have a strong insight into what
will appeal to my audience. In the past I, havedone other projects and made
advertisement for fake events which I evaluated after and found whatI could
improveon which I feel will help me in this project. I will have to research into
whereall of the places are as I’m notsure of some of them. When it comes
closer to the first shootI will have to look at the weather forecastand make
surethat it is good enough weather for the shootas I wantthe pictures to be
in the sun so they look more aesthetically pleasing.
Evaluation
I will compare my work with older similar work that I have done in the pastand
see if there has been an improvement since the last one and what I could do
even better to make sureit is to a greater standard of work. I will also use my
peers to evaluate my work as they are in the age rangeof my audience and
have an outside opinion on the page.
