1. Ilocos Region Intensifies Campaign for the
Expansion of Cooperative Membership
One of the three – point Agenda of the Cooperative Development Authority
(CDA) is the Expansion of Cooperative Membership with a target of increasing
membership up to 20M in 2014. So far, according to CDA, the total membership
as of December 2011 was 7.290,848. On its part, the CDA Dagupan Extension
Office vigorously campaigned for the expansion of cooperative membership in the
ilocos region. The strategies implemented consisted of: launching of the program,
integration of the campaign of membership in meetings, fora, radio broadcasts,
training, mentoring and other technical advices to the cooperatives, campaign for
electric cooperative registration to CDA, conduct of cooperative mapping per
municipality/city/province and promotion of branching. Based from the data
coming from the Adhoc Regulatory Unit, as of July 2012, Region I cooperative

2. membership membership totalled to 1,423,124 with an accomplishment of 118%.
CDA Dagupan will continue to intensify its campaign among the remaining
untapped voting population of the region towards the realization of the overall
target of 13 Million more members by 2012.
