The Crimes And Impacts Of Bonnie And Clyde
Bonnie and Clyde, an infamous phrase that linked two criminals, has been commonly known by
many people around the country. In the early1930's the crimes Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow
committed, propelled shock waves through a depressed nation. The couple's series of negligible
thefts morphed into bank robberies and escalated to murders. Amid the economic turbulence, their
string of robberies and murders proved that crimes spiked in times of strife and demonstrated the use
of media to distract the public. The Great Depression was the first severe economic tribulation that
the United States had witnessed. Beginning in 1929, when the stock market collapsed in late
October, unemployment fell, and millions of Americans became jobless. Poverty ... Show more

Clyde Barrow was one of them. Barrow felt no remorse in stealing from banks, armories, and other
government owned establishments. Considering, what seemed to be the lack of actions from
President Hoover, whose optimism remained even when the economic state lingered in a perpetual
downfall, citizens committed abrasive crimes. Herbert Hoover's numerous attempts to aid the
economy failed to find its way to small, private towns or businesses. He relied on the idea of
volunteerism, or the goodwill of people, to keep businesses and families afloat (Digital History).
Still, small town businesses were forced to lay off employees and many went bankrupt. Owners
watched their careers fall apart. There was little state banks could do to help businesses, and with no
other outlet for their frustration they blamed the federal government. President Hoover consistently
refused to use federal funds to support the economy; though the general population was desperate
for any relief, he believed in the long run depleting federal funds would damage the economy even
more (Digital History). American citizens quickly became frustrated at the absence of governmental

Based on the forecast data Ohio State gets 33.78% or 2,627 units, Michigan get 23.87% or 1,856
units, Purdue get 13.51% or 1,051 units, Michigan State gets 21.85% or 1,699 units, and Indiana
gets 6.98% or 543 units.
If we base this on the individual forecasts we would order the following:
Ohio State = NORMSINV(.809123,2500,300) = 2,762
Michigan = NORMSINV(.809123,1767,252) = 1,987

Rutherford B. Hayes 's Impact On The Civil Rights Movement
Rutherford B. Hayes Rutherford B. Hayes was the 19th president of The United States of America.
He also served in other important political positions, including the Governor of Ohio. Perhaps the
most important thing Hayes did was get America on the right track towards the civil rights
movement. During the president 's political career, he was known for being honest and trustworthy,
which helped him become one of our nation's presidents. Rutherford B. Hayes was born on October
4, 1822 in Delaware, Ohio to Rutherford Hayes and Sofia Bichard. His father died before he was
born and was raised by his mother and uncles. The future president began attending Harvard Law in
1843 and graduated in 1845. Hayes married Lucy Webb ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Rutherford B Hayes resigned to campaign all across Ohio to run for governor. The biggest topic of
the election was whether African–Americans would get voting rights. The election was won by
Hayes in 1867, but he had some struggles. He was a Republican under a Democratic legislator and
had no veto power. However, he helped create a deaf–mute school and a school for girls. In his
second term, he won voting rights for black males, and helped what would become Ohio State
University be founded. He also brought the idea of lower taxes and a better life for prisoners. He left
office in 1872 and came back in 1876 and served a year long term. Rutherford B. Hayes had one of
the most controversial presidential elections. In 1876, Hayes won the Republican presidential
nomination. Nearing the end of the election, South Carolina, Louisiana and Florida had trouble with
the ballot. To solve the problem, a group of representatives voted on where all the aforementioned
states votes would go. The majority of the panel were Republican, Hayes's party and he was voted
into office. The Democrats were outraged. There was an agreement made, and many troops in the
south were called back. This officially ended the Reconstruction of the states. Rutherford B Hayes
was named the president by the council and began his term March 4, 1877. Shortly after the
president was elected, The Great Railroad Strike began. Railroad workers

Middle School Are Essential For The Success Of Students
For me, middle school was probably the most excruciating years of my life. I thought it was only me
and everyone else had it easy and completely understood everything that was happening to their
bodies and minds. In fact, I still have dreams about my middle school years like forgetting my
locker combination or hiding in the bathroom stall because the most popular girls were gossiping
about a friend of yours. The settings in these dreams are always my middle school; I find it amazing
that thirty years after I attended school that I can remember vivid details about the layout, hallways,
lockers, and teachers. The reason for this I believe is that for ALL students the middle school years
are the most influential to shaping and becoming who a person is and who they wish to become.
Middle schools are essential for the success of students because of the unique developmental stages
of these students. For teachers, comprehension of young adolescent development is key to
understanding the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and moral needs and interests of these
students (Powell, 2015, p. 55) and also teachers need to develop a curriculum that is focused on
developing students competence in all subject matter and using their knowledge and available
resources to design, implement, and evaluate challenging, responsive curriculums that result in
meaningful learning outcomes (Powell, 2015, p. 145). All students should feel that they are accepted

Who Is Bonnie And Clyde A Victim Of Crime
In the early nineteen hundreds, crime was a big problem. There were several criminals on the loose.
Such as Pretty boy Floyde, Baby face Nelson, Al Capone, Machine gun Kelly, and so on. But in the
South there was a couple that rampaged through Texas. They were Bonnie and Clyde and they were
the fear of the public in the South. They robbed, kidnapped and murdered. This is Bonnie and Clyde.
Clyde Barrow was born in Telico, Texas in the year 1910. Clyde's family moved to Dallas in the
1920s. They were very poor and lived in a slum where crime was rampant. Clyde got into trouble
right away. His first arrest was when he didn't return a rental car on time. His second arrest was for
stealing turkeys. In the late 1920s, Clyde had good jobs but he ... Show more content on

They had an immediate liking to each other. Until Clyde was sent to jail for his petty crimes, Bonnie
and Clyde spent almost all their time together. When Clyde went to jail in Waco, Bonnie smuggled a
gun into the prison and busted Clyde out on March 8. When Bonnie and Clyde took off to Ohio,
Clyde got caught and extradited to Texas. While in jail, he received a fourteen year prison sentence
for hard labor. Clyde got transferred to Eastham prison. In 1932 of February, Clyde got paroled and
his family and friends said he wasn't the same guy when he came out. It was claimed that Clyde was
beaten regularly while he was in prison and it made him hate the Eastham prison. According to some
people it was said Clyde didn't care about the money, he wanted revenge on the Texas prison system
for how he was treated. One month later, Bonnie and Clyde made a gang consisting of Bonnie and
Clyde, Ray Hamilton, WD Jones, Henry Methvin, Buck Barrow, and his wife Blanche Barrow.
With their gang, Bonnie and Clyde began many robberies with the goal of getting enough money
and guns to launch a jailbreak at Eastham prison to get Clyde's revenge. Bonnie and Fults got caught
in a hardware store robbery in Texas and they got sent to jail. Bonnie got out of jail for saying she
was kidnapped and had to rob the hardware store. In two weeks Bonnie and Clyde were together and
on the run again. On August of 1932, Clyde and his gang had been drinking which was illegal back
then. Two officers approached them but soon after they were both shot and

Poverty In Ohio Region Analysis
I. Introduction "Poverty is about not having enough money to meet basic needs including food,
clothing and shelter" ("What is Poverty," 2016). In the United States, there are 45 million Americans
are living in poverty ("45 Million Americans," 2014). In order to determine if one is living in
poverty, the United States Census Bureau has established a poverty line that they then measure,
according to the individual's income and their family size ("Poverty Thresholds," 2016; "Poorest
Cities in America," 2016). Since the recession in 2008, many states have seen a rise of families
living in poverty. Poverty is a vicious cycle and has devastating effects on young children.

The Lack Of Promotion For College Students Essay
Consequence
Due to the lack of promotion to college students (especially international students), Athens Farmers
Market (AFM) seems to ignore a large potential market of students. This problem not only indicates
a potential market that AFM missed and ignored, it also brings other possible consequences if AFM
keeps doing so. For example, in most cases, consumers tend to purchase at the same grocery store,
which can be categorized as brand loyalty. However, college students in Athens are more likely to
purchase at AFM's competitors (Walmart, Kroger) due to AFM's fewer opening hours and distance.
But Deighton et al. (1994) indicates that advertising can have effective influences on brand
switching, which would apply to AFM as students start to purchase products at AFM instead of
Walmart repeatedly. Further, Walmart (or Kroger) as one of the largest supermarkets in the retail
industry can compete and restrict the customer base of AFM. Thus, advertising to students, a major
group of potential consumers in Athens, would help AFM's development in several aspects
including customer base, reputation, and profitability.
Third Criteria: Advertising Effectiveness
Cost and convenience are indeed important to comparison and evaluation different methods used for
AFM's advertisements to student. But effectiveness (the effect measured or expected from different
advertising methods used) can also be crucial to decision making on advertising strategies of AFM.
Based on the potential

Flint Ridge State Park
Have you ever been to a Licking County park? I have been to both Licking County State Parks. I am
going to explain some of the similarities and differences of Buckeye Lake State Park and Flint
Ridge State Park, which is really more of a National park because it is a massive park which I will
explain in later paragraphs. I am going to talk about why these parks are so well known their terrain
and some of the things that can be seen at these state parks. There are many different parks in
Licking County but there are two well known state parks, Buckeye Lake State Park and Flint Ridge
State Park, in some ways they are the same and some ways are very different.

At Flint Ridge State Park you can find craters in the ground which were dug for the flint found in
the area. Flint Ridge isn't just a small area it runs from National rd. to the west Appalachian
Mountains and all the way South to Florida, as well as running North to Maine. If you go to Flint
Ridge and dig in the pits or anywhere in the area for that matter you may find dead Indians or
arrowheads that were made by Indians and used for fighting here or getting food. Some of the flint
found here is black in color and is not from Flint Ridge. This flint is called Upper Mercer Flint and
it is from the Coshocton area. There are many reasons for the different kinds of flint but the best
known is that all of the flint on Flint Ridge was brought in by the latest glacier between 11,400 and
12,000 years ago and is so colorful because it is made from flint from here to the Rocky Mountains,
and the black flint in the Coshocton area, Upper Mercer, is flint strictly from the Ohio area. All flint
is found on the ridges from where it was pushed up by the glacier and not nearly as much at the
bottom because that is where all of the heavier rocks

Descriptive Essay About My Experience
New Beginnings I love butterflies; they are beautiful creatures who dance around the sky as their
wings flutter gracefully through the air. Butterflies floating in nature are amazing! However, when
they are spinning circles in your stomach, they are nauseating. That is how I felt as I prepared for
my visit to the Coshocton County Court of Common Pleas. It was a warm muggy day and the air felt
thick like it was going to rain. I walked down Main Street in Coshocton, past the gym that I
frequently visit, and across the street. There I stood in front of a tall, cement gray building. My
friend, Tessa, had arranged my appointment to be a spectator at a hearing for Family Drug Court. I

The light gave off a bright glow which made me think of those detective movies where the
investigator interrogates suspects in a darkened room. My eyes scanned around the walls and I saw
photographs of judges from the past posed in their black robes, framed in the same cherry wood that
trimmed the room. Beautiful marble embellished the elevated platform that was located in the front
and center part of the triangular shaped room. This platform was the bench where the Honorable
Judge Van Blanchard II would be appearing. Finally, Judge Blanchard walked into the chamber and
calmly sat down. As he entered, the room grew quiet. He looked kind and gentle, had white hair
with gray peppered through it, and had a pleasant smile. He glanced in my direction, noticing that
someone new was in the room, and again I felt like all eyes were on me. It was then that my friend,
whom had been hidden from my view behind her computer, popped up from her chair and
introduced me to the onlookers. I stood up and thanked Judge Blanchard for allowing me to sit in to
observe the case and explained why I was there. As quietly as I could, I sat back down into my
squeaky chair, and the room filled with noisy discussion once again. Like a busy stock–trading
center, the caseworkers started conversing back and forth with the judge. They would review each
case and give their professional opinion of how their clients were reacting to the

I had two hypotheses: first hypothesis, people come to the Greene Town Center for shopping and
entertainment which is almost correct. The second hypothesis, many kids are wearing Halloween
costumes since my observation in the Halloween weekend. Unfortunately, there are no kids were

Observation group dynamics and interaction among people in groups are interesting to me. I like to

Background: Many people in Dayton city or its neighbors like to go to Greene Town Center (called

College Essay For College
When anyone asks me what I want to do in my lifetime, I always answer with, "I just want to be
happy." I have known the answer to that question for as long as I can remember. So, when the time
came for me to start really thinking about the rest of my life (i.e. life after high school and
adulthood) I had to think a lot about what makes me happy, and I have continued that journey ever
since. My search for happiness and bettering my life has eventually led me here, to applying for a
program that will allow me to achieve a Bachelor's degree from Antioch University Online.
Throughout my search, I have always known that continuing my education was extremely important
to me. I'm a strong believer that education can be attained through everything and that every
moment you take part in can be educating. But I wanted to seek out knowledge, and a Bachelor's

most benefitted from by achieving this level of degree. Whether you call it fate, dumb luck, or sheer
coincidence, I'm not going to ignore what's right in front of me. And not only would I be able to
further my education vastly, but I would also be able to use that Bachelor's degree to improve my

One example in particular started early on in the process when two or three precinct 3–E pastors
vocally opposed Issues 23 and 24. "They felt like the community was only doing things for the
Akron Zoo, as in, they felt like the community was always putting together efforts that would only
benefit us," Criss said. This feedback from the pastors came after two town hall meetings organized
by councilwoman Sommervile. "I think that's when we decided that we needed to sit down with
these religious leaders to facilitate a conversation about what passing the issues meant," Barnhardt
said. Because the Akron Zoo felt that the pastors in the targeted area were opinion leaders, a one–
on–one conversation was chosen to facilitate an open dialogue about the issues. Both Criss and
Barnhardt felt that the open conversation with the pastors allowed for clearing up confusion and
misconceptions about what Issues 23 and 24 would mean for the zoo if passed. Criss commented ...

Life After High School
Life after high school can be one of the most difficult decisions in your life. And it is not just one
decision, the college you choose can alter many aspects of your life. When you attempt to choose a
school to go to you have to take into consideration many things. You have to know the major you
want to go for, the minors, location, tuition cost, et cetera. I have so many options for the next step
in my life. For this paper, however, I have narrowed it down to two options: Miami University and
the University of Cincinnati. It is a close race between the two, but based on my recent visit to
Miami going there for college would be the better option for my future. Money is an issue for
mostly all college students, everyone is always worried about the debt they will obtain by going
through schooling and how they are going to pay it off. Unless someone can get a full ride
scholarship, you are going to have to owe money to the university you go to. My solution is that I
will be making enough money after college to pay it off pretty quickly so I do not have to owe too
much money throughout my life. Miami tuition is around $15,000 and room and board is around
$13,000 so the total is somewhere close to $28,000 ("2017 Cohort"). Cincinnati tuition is $11,000
and room and board can be from $11,000 to $13,000, so between $22,000 and $24,000 would be the
total ("UC Facts"). I intend to get scholarships through various companies or associations to bring
the total price per year down.

Phar–Mor was operated as an American discounted drug and variety store opening its first doors in
Youngstown, Ohio in 1982. It came to be when the heir to Giant Eagle; David Shapira and the

Tamco was formally known as a private grocery store chain named Tamarkin Co. Tamco had a big

Growing up in central Ohio there are several things that you will see on a regular basis. One of these
items in a buckeye, it is the symbol of the university here in town. Around the holidays we make
candies called buckeyes that are rolled balls of peanut butter dipped in chocolate. People refer to
individuals from Ohio as buckeyes as well. What is a buckeye and where does it come from? The
buckeye tree, which is also, known as Aesculus Glabra is the state tree of Ohio. Sometimes called a
horse chestnut the buckeye tree is commonly found throughout the Midwest reaching from
Michigan all the way down to isolated areas of Texas and Oklahoma. The area is classified as the
temperate deciduous forest biome. A favorite of early Ohio settlers ... Show more content on

The trees aren't going to be the tallest in the forest. They are usually 30–40 foot tall and 3–4 foot
tall. The trees reach maturity with in 60–80 years of age and most often living upwards of 100 years
of age. Like I previously mention the buckeye tree blooms early in the spring. Flowers are a white to
yellow–greenish color and form in small clusters. Each flower will produce 1–2 seeds that will
produce up to 5 nuts each inside the capsule. The capsule is a pale yellow color that is spiny. The
tree is one of the earliest to lose their leaves in the fall turning to a nice yellow and red color before
falling off. The buckeye tree has learned to adapt pretty well for survival. Its short stature means that
it usually has taller trees in the forest towering over it. While it can grow in the shade it prefers to be
in open clusters or along streambeds in moisture rich soil. It has also shown great resistance to
fungus and disease. There are only six known diseases that affect the tree. One of the most common
and most serious problems that the buckeye tree will experience is leaf scorch. Most likely caused
by drought conditions or pollution. The buckeye tree is polygamo–monoecious. The flower clusters
at the base of the branch are fertile and can reproduce while the flowers further up the branch are
staminate. A few other interesting things that I learned when doing the research on the buckeye tree

How Ultra 's Customer Database Meets The Not Generally...
II. Not Generally Known or Readily Ascertainable
C A court is likely to find that Ultra's customer database meets the not generally known or readily
ascertainable element.
R In determining whether information is not generally known or readily ascertainable, courts
consider the following two Restatement factors: "the extent to which the information is known
outside of the business" and "the ease or difficulty with which the information could be properly
acquired or duplicated by others." Al Minor, 117 Ohio St. 3d at 61 (citing Plain Dealer, 80 Ohio St.
3d at 524–25).
To determine whether the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable is if a trade
secret owner "collected and/or compiled the information from a variety of sources, thus this may
support a finding that the information is not generally known or readily ascertainable." Salemi, 145
Ohio St. 3d at ¶29.
To determine whether a customer list is not generally known, it "ordinarily includes not only the
name of a business or person but also information that is not generally available to the public, such
as the name of a contact person, a non–public telephone or cell phone number, an email address, and
other data known only because of the relationship with the client." Salemi, 2014–Ohio–3914 at ¶18

Thomas Jefferson Accomplishments
The outcomes of the Revolutionary war paved the way towards an expansion of territory sought out
to respect civil liberties by outlawing slavery , reforming the education platform and is considered
one of the most important legislative acts of the confederation congress. Thomas Jefferson was a
key player as he created a vision with an empire based on principles novel at the time. On July 13,
1787 the Northwest Ordinance came into place, a new legislation which expanded the original 13
states westward not only acquiring land, but provided a framework for educational organization and
political incorporation in the new territories. All it took was a proposition, an idea by a Virginia
delegate by the name of Thomas Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in
Shadwell, Virginia into a wealthy and distinguished family. Jefferson served his country for over
five decades, he was a public official, philosopher, historian and even a plantation owner. His
interests in law led him to serve the local government as a magistrate, county lieutenant and as a
member of the House of Burgesses. Some of Thomas Jefferson 's major accomplishments and
contributions include , but are not limited to the Louisiana Purchase in 1803 , his support towards
the Lewis and Clark Expedition, abolishing, the slave trade, his views on what is now called the

The Legacy Of Columbus, Ohio
Columbus, Ohio is a well–known capital city often frequented by eager tourist or rival spectators
who become entranced in the overwhelming atmosphere often associated with the Ohio State
Buckeyes; the 2015 nationally undisputed college football champions. Also, Columbus is home to
the other easily recognized sports teams, restaurants, and other points of interest, such as: the
Columbus Blue Jackets, Franklin Park Conservatory, and Thurman's Grill just to name a few.
Naturally, Columbus, Ohio would appear to be a desired utopia to visit, if not build a life filled with

The Short North Posse terrorized the Wienland Park neighborhood since the early 1990's. The north
side gang became so entrenched in violence, local police and prosecutors teamed up with the
Federal Bureau of Investigation an issued the largest federal murder indictment in history in the state
of Ohio. The Columbus Dispatch reported that in 2014, "Law enforcement around central Ohio,
collaborated with the FBI on a two–year investigation that lead to a twenty–five count indictment
that included 11 murder charges." A person could possibly entertain the idea that since the gang
members were indicted and brought to justice, the system is running a course and the problem is
under control. Nevertheless, the majority of sensible people might successfully flirt with the notion
that if Columbus had a well–established anti–gang program throughout the community, these nine
men and two women would have never lost their lives to senselessness. Gangs such as the Short
North Posse, that often referred themselves as the "Cut Throat Committee" could have possibly been
avoided if the city took an earlier initiative to curb the rise in gang activity by applying awareness
programs and interventions. Also, if not to throw gas on an already out of control fire; since the

Choosing a college is one of the most important decisions in a young adult's life. That is, of course,

conclusion of where I want to attend college. There are plenty of college options, but I have

Political Action: Modernize the Nurse Practice Act
Healthcare reform and politics are on the forefront of most citizens throughout the United States.
Our access to healthcare has become a barrier for many citizens, and a hurdle for the advanced
practiced registered nurses (APRN) throughout the years. Strict state laws have burdened APRNs
and limited their practice throughout Ohio. It would be prudent to follow suit of other states, and
retire the Collaborative Agreement; Richards and Polsky (2014) noted an immediate 20 to 30
percent increase in nurse practitioner providers in those particular states after it was retired. House
Bill 216 (H.B. 216) helps modernize the Nurse Practice Act and the retire the mandatory
collaborative agreement and extensive drug formulary. Within this paper, the contents and purpose
will begin to unravel as I describe the meeting Naserin Salameh and I were able to connect with
Representative Margaret Ann Ruhl of Ohio House District 68 on March 30, 2016, about H.B. 216.

incredibly hard to find a great restaurant that has attentive servers, high quality food served in a

impeccable restaurant that not only meets all of the criteria listed above, it exceeds them. Uno's

our waiter that we were in quite a big hurry. We ordered our drinks and appetizers and I headed off
to the restroom to wash my hands before the food arrived. The restroom was just as pristine as the
rest of the restaurant, there were no giant globs of soap all over the counter, they had high energy
efficient hand dryers, and all toiletries were stocked. Even the mirrors were spotless! It's often said
that you can judge the cleanliness of a restaurant 's kitchen by the cleanliness of the restrooms. With
the spotlessness of this restroom, I wasn't the least bit worried about the cleanliness of the kitchen.
I returned back to the table not even five minutes later and our drinks, as well as our appetizers were
served! I couldn't believe how fast it came. We ordered spinach artichoke dip that was served in a
bread bowl. I'd highly recommend this appetizer, it was truthfully life changing. As we enjoyed our
appetizer our waiter frequently returned to our table and conversed with us, as well as to check on
the quality of our food and get our orders for the main dish. He was very attentive and very
considerate of our time limitations, I was extremely impressed with him. The menu had a wide

Summary Of AinT I A Woman
'Ain't I A Woman' is a speech given by a woman named Sojourner Truth. Her real name was Isabella
Baumfree. She was born into slavery in 1797. Her childhood was spent on a New York estate owned
by a Dutch American named Colonel Johannes Hardenbergh. She experienced the miseries of being
sold and mistreated. Around 1815, she fell in love wih a fellow slave named Robert, but Robert's
master forced them apart. Then, she was forced to marry a slave named Thomas and they had five
children. After her master failed to keep his promise to free her in 1827, Isabella ran away. Isabella
was experiencing a religious conversion before she became an itinerant preacher and decided to
change her name to Sojourner Truth. She became involved in the antislavery movement, and by the
1850s she was involved in the woman's rights movement as well. She became one of the most
powerful advocates for human rights in the nineteenth century. She delivered this speech at the 1851
Women's Rights Convention held in Akron, Ohio. After that, she continued to speak out for the
rights of African Americans and women during and after the Civil War. Sojourner Truth died in
Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1883. In 'Ain't I a Woman', Sojourner speaks on the inequalities that
women and blacks faced at that time in America. This speech has a powerful message and became
so famous afterwards. In the beginning of her speech, she used the word 'children' to her audiences.
Maybe Sojourner wanted to build a connection between her and her audiences. By calling them
'children', it made them feels like they were listening to their mother. In her speech she said, "That
man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to
have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud–puddles, or
gives me any best place! And ain't I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and
planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain't I a woman? I could work as
much and eat as much as a man – when I could get it – and bear the lash as well! And ain't I a
woman?" She wanted to say that she, as a woman, can do as much work as man. Man did

Roman women were washing their clothes in the River Tiber, below which animal fats from the
sacrifices ran down into the river and created a soapy clay mixture. They found out that using the
same cleansing substance, their clothes were getting cleaner, easier. From that time we know soap as
soap (soap history.net). After the founding of "soap" from the Babylonians, the Egyptians also
bathed regularly. They made soap by combining animal and vegetable oils that contain alkaline salts
so it can make a soap–like material but they used it for treating skin diseases and also for washing.
At about that exact time, Moses gave personal laws to the Israelites, and he also said cleanliness to
health and religious purification were very related. Then the Israelites knew that mixing ashes and
oils made a type of gel. The Greeks did not use soap like the Babylonians, or the Egyptians. They
used many blocks of clay, sand, pumice and ashes to clean themselves. Soap got its name, from an
ancient Roman legend, that was from Mount Sapo. As Roman Civilization advanced over time, so
did bathing. In 312 B.C, Romans built their first baths with water from their aqueducts. Their baths

The Many Themes in Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, Ohio Essay
The Many Themes in Winesburg, Ohio
Winesburg, Ohio is a compilation of short tales written by Sherwood Anderson and published as a
whole in 1919. The short tales formulate the common themes for the novel as follows: isolation and
loneliness, discovery, inhibition, and cultural failure.
In order to examine these themes, Anderson's history must be understood and examined to provide
illumination upon why Anderson came to such beliefs about human life. Sherwood Anderson was
born on September 13, 1876, in Camden, Ohio. In 1884, Anderson and his family moved to the
small town of Clyde, Ohio. Clyde, Ohio, is the model for the town of Winesburg. Anderson hated
his father because of the lack of love shown to his mother and ... Show more content on

At the end of the story "Adventure," Anderson writes "began trying to force herself to face bravely
the fact that many people must live and die alone, even in Winesburg (Anderson, Sherwood)." The
themes of loneliness and isolation are expressed by describing the characters as grotesques. The
grotesques are the people who have become obsessed with an idea or mannerism, such that, they
have lost contact with their fellow Man. Anderson sets the course for the theme of isolation in the
first three chapters, excluding "The Book of the Grotesque."
The first chapter is called "Hands" and involves the sad story of Wing Biddlebaum. Because
Biddlebaum is accused of having molested students that he taught, his hands embody the shame that
he carries. Fearing that the presence of his hands will be misinterpreted, Biddlebaum hides his
expressive hands. By creating the symbol of hands in this chapter, Anderson creates an effective
symbol to express the theme of isolation in the novel. Because a person's physical hands are used to
communicate feeling, "Hands" is a tale about one of the sources of isolation, the inability to
communicate feeling.
"Paper Pills" is the second chapter of the novel and deals with another cause of isolation, the
inability to communicate thought. Because Doctor Reefy is afraid of communicating directly to
another person, he writes his thoughts on little pieces of paper to prevent his

Persuasive Essay About Life After College
Finding Home "What do you want to do after graduation?" is a pretty common question that the

plans are, while others have no idea. Being one who has known what my post–high school plans are

Cleveland or one of its surrounding suburbs. While both Findlay and Cleveland are great places to
live, finding a job and settling down in Findlay, rather than residing in the Cleveland area, is the
better option for me because of the opportunities it offers. Coming back to Findlay after graduating
from college is the most ethical choice for me because of the jobs the town has to offer. With a
Strategic Communications degree, one living in the Findlay area can get a job working as a
Recruiting Specialist at Automatic Data Processing's Recruitment Process Outsourcing office, as an

Log Cabin Research Paper
The Log Cabin Republicans is an organization that helps build a more stronger union of equality,
free market, individual liberty and many more . They have chosen to start this party for the sole
purpose of helping to stop the intolerance towards gays and lesbians. The name Log Cabin came
from President Abraham Lincoln who was born in a log cabin, so they chose to name it after him.
Not only was he the inspiration for the name he was also an inspiration for the faction. The original
name of the faction was "Lincoln Club" but the name was already taken by another Republican
(GOP) group so they had to change it to something else. The faction was built on Abraham Lincoln's
principles of Liberty and Equality.

Legislatures from Arkansas and Oklahoma banned gay and lesbians from being able to teach at
schools only because they were gay and lesbian and did not hold up to the standards of those
legislatures. Not only was it Arkansas and Oklahoma that decided to ban them but the senator who
had an ambition to become governor of California thought that he could pass a campaign that also
withheld the rights to gays and lesbians from also teaching at the schools of many children in
schools. It had turned out that he was in the lead of winning the most votes and was going to
actually win. But with the help of many Republicans and Democrats that were against the campaign
for the gay and lesbian rights, thought that it was wrong and were very hesitant on trying to stop it.

against that campaign although many politicians had told him that going against the governor of
California might be suicidal, he still wanted to go against

How Middle Schools Shape Students And Their Futures

  • 1. The Crimes And Impacts Of Bonnie And Clyde Bonnie and Clyde, an infamous phrase that linked two criminals, has been commonly known by many people around the country. In the early1930's the crimes Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow committed, propelled shock waves through a depressed nation. The couple's series of negligible thefts morphed into bank robberies and escalated to murders. Amid the economic turbulence, their string of robberies and murders proved that crimes spiked in times of strife and demonstrated the use of media to distract the public. The Great Depression was the first severe economic tribulation that the United States had witnessed. Beginning in 1929, when the stock market collapsed in late October, unemployment fell, and millions of Americans became jobless. Poverty ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Clyde Barrow was one of them. Barrow felt no remorse in stealing from banks, armories, and other government owned establishments. Considering, what seemed to be the lack of actions from President Hoover, whose optimism remained even when the economic state lingered in a perpetual downfall, citizens committed abrasive crimes. Herbert Hoover's numerous attempts to aid the economy failed to find its way to small, private towns or businesses. He relied on the idea of volunteerism, or the goodwill of people, to keep businesses and families afloat (Digital History). Still, small town businesses were forced to lay off employees and many went bankrupt. Owners watched their careers fall apart. There was little state banks could do to help businesses, and with no other outlet for their frustration they blamed the federal government. President Hoover consistently refused to use federal funds to support the economy; though the general population was desperate for any relief, he believed in the long run depleting federal funds would damage the economy even more (Digital History). He also served in other important political positions, including the Governor of Ohio. Perhaps the most important thing Hayes did was get America on the right track towards the civil rights movement. During the president 's political career, he was known for being honest and trustworthy, which helped him become one of our nation's presidents. Rutherford B. Hayes was born on October 4, 1822 in Delaware, Ohio to Rutherford Hayes and Sofia Bichard. His father died before he was born and was raised by his mother and uncles. Rutherford B Hayes resigned to campaign all across Ohio to run for governor. The biggest topic of the election was whether African–Americans would get voting rights. The election was won by Hayes in 1867, but he had some struggles. He was a Republican under a Democratic legislator and had no veto power. However, he helped create a deaf–mute school and a school for girls. In his second term, he won voting rights for black males, and helped what would become Ohio State University be founded. He also brought the idea of lower taxes and a better life for prisoners. He left office in 1872 and came back in 1876 and served a year long term. Rutherford B. Hayes had one of the most controversial presidential elections. In 1876, Hayes won the Republican presidential nomination. Nearing the end of the election, South Carolina, Louisiana and Florida had trouble with the ballot. • 8. Middle School Are Essential For The Success Of Students For me, middle school was probably the most excruciating years of my life. I thought it was only me and everyone else had it easy and completely understood everything that was happening to their bodies and minds. In fact, I still have dreams about my middle school years like forgetting my locker combination or hiding in the bathroom stall because the most popular girls were gossiping about a friend of yours. The settings in these dreams are always my middle school; I find it amazing that thirty years after I attended school that I can remember vivid details about the layout, hallways, lockers, and teachers. The reason for this I believe is that for ALL students the middle school years are the most influential to shaping and becoming who a person is and who they wish to become. Middle schools are essential for the success of students because of the unique developmental stages of these students. For teachers, comprehension of young adolescent development is key to understanding the physical, emotional, intellectual, social and moral needs and interests of these students (Powell, 2015, p. 55) and also teachers need to develop a curriculum that is focused on developing students competence in all subject matter and using their knowledge and available resources to design, implement, and evaluate challenging, responsive curriculums that result in meaningful learning outcomes (Powell, 2015, p. 145). All students should feel that they are accepted for who he or she is as an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 10. Who Is Bonnie And Clyde A Victim Of Crime In the early nineteen hundreds, crime was a big problem. There were several criminals on the loose. Such as Pretty boy Floyde, Baby face Nelson, Al Capone, Machine gun Kelly, and so on. But in the South there was a couple that rampaged through Texas. They were Bonnie and Clyde and they were the fear of the public in the South. They robbed, kidnapped and murdered. This is Bonnie and Clyde. Clyde Barrow was born in Telico, Texas in the year 1910. Clyde's family moved to Dallas in the 1920s. They were very poor and lived in a slum where crime was rampant. Clyde got into trouble right away. His first arrest was when he didn't return a rental car on time. His second arrest was for stealing turkeys. In the late 1920s, Clyde had good jobs but he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... While in jail, he received a fourteen year prison sentence for hard labor. Clyde got transferred to Eastham prison. In 1932 of February, Clyde got paroled and his family and friends said he wasn't the same guy when he came out. It was claimed that Clyde was beaten regularly while he was in prison and it made him hate the Eastham prison. According to some people it was said Clyde didn't care about the money, he wanted revenge on the Texas prison system for how he was treated. One month later, Bonnie and Clyde made a gang consisting of Bonnie and Clyde, Ray Hamilton, WD Jones, Henry Methvin, Buck Barrow, and his wife Blanche Barrow. With their gang, Bonnie and Clyde began many robberies with the goal of getting enough money and guns to launch a jailbreak at Eastham prison to get Clyde's revenge. Bonnie and Fults got caught in a hardware store robbery in Texas and they got sent to jail. Bonnie got out of jail for saying she was kidnapped and had to rob the hardware store. In the United States, there are 45 million Americans are living in poverty ("45 Million Americans," 2014). In order to determine if one is living in poverty, the United States Census Bureau has established a poverty line that they then measure, according to the individual's income and their family size ("Poverty Thresholds," 2016; "Poorest Cities in America," 2016). • 14. The Lack Of Promotion For College Students Essay Consequence Due to the lack of promotion to college students (especially international students), Athens Farmers Market (AFM) seems to ignore a large potential market of students. This problem not only indicates a potential market that AFM missed and ignored, it also brings other possible consequences if AFM keeps doing so. For example, in most cases, consumers tend to purchase at the same grocery store, which can be categorized as brand loyalty. However, college students in Athens are more likely to purchase at AFM's competitors (Walmart, Kroger) due to AFM's fewer opening hours and distance. But Deighton et al. (1994) indicates that advertising can have effective influences on brand switching, which would apply to AFM as students start to purchase products at AFM instead of Walmart repeatedly. Further, Walmart (or Kroger) as one of the largest supermarkets in the retail industry can compete and restrict the customer base of AFM. Thus, advertising to students, a major group of potential consumers in Athens, would help AFM's development in several aspects including customer base, reputation, and profitability. Third Criteria: Advertising Effectiveness Cost and convenience are indeed important to comparison and evaluation different methods used for AFM's advertisements to student. But effectiveness (the effect measured or expected from different advertising methods used) can also be crucial to decision making on advertising strategies of AFM. Based on the potential ... Some of the flint found here is black in color and is not from Flint Ridge. This flint is called Upper Mercer Flint and it is from the Coshocton area. There are many reasons for the different kinds of flint but the best known is that all of the flint on Flint Ridge was brought in by the latest glacier between 11,400 and 12,000 years ago and is so colorful because it is made from flint from here to the Rocky Mountains, and the black flint in the Coshocton area, Upper Mercer, is flint strictly from the Ohio area. Butterflies floating in nature are amazing! However, when they are spinning circles in your stomach, they are nauseating. That is how I felt as I prepared for my visit to the Coshocton County Court of Common Pleas. It was a warm muggy day and the air felt thick like it was going to rain. I walked down Main Street in Coshocton, past the gym that I frequently visit, and across the street. There I stood in front of a tall, cement gray building. This platform was the bench where the Honorable Judge Van Blanchard II would be appearing. Finally, Judge Blanchard walked into the chamber and calmly sat down. As he entered, the room grew quiet. • 34. Life After High School Life after high school can be one of the most difficult decisions in your life. And it is not just one decision, the college you choose can alter many aspects of your life. When you attempt to choose a school to go to you have to take into consideration many things. You have to know the major you want to go for, the minors, location, tuition cost, et cetera. I have so many options for the next step in my life. For this paper, however, I have narrowed it down to two options: Miami University and the University of Cincinnati. It is a close race between the two, but based on my recent visit to Miami going there for college would be the better option for my future. Money is an issue for mostly all college students, everyone is always worried about the debt they will obtain by going through schooling and how they are going to pay it off. Unless someone can get a full ride scholarship, you are going to have to owe money to the university you go to. My solution is that I will be making enough money after college to pay it off pretty quickly so I do not have to owe too much money throughout my life. Miami tuition is around $15,000 and room and board is around $13,000 so the total is somewhere close to $28,000 ("2017 Cohort"). Cincinnati tuition is $11,000 and room and board can be from $11,000 to $13,000, so between $22,000 and $24,000 would be the total ("UC Facts"). I intend to get scholarships through various companies or associations to bring the total price per year down. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Tamco was formally known as a private grocery store chain named Tamarkin Co. Tamco had a big role in the scandal. (Press 1996) Their relationship to Phar–Mor was Tamco shipped orders for Phar–Mor yet only sending half of the orders while Phar–Mor was paying the full bill. Phar–Mor was being billed for inventory that it did not receive and after the fraud case was out in the public they had to shut down a lot of stores to cover up the companies losses. (UNITED STATES v. MONUS 1997) Giant Eagle paid Phar–Mor seven million dollars on behalf of Tamco. Like I previously mention the buckeye tree blooms early in the spring. Flowers are a white to yellow–greenish color and form in small clusters. Each flower will produce 1–2 seeds that will produce up to 5 nuts each inside the capsule. The capsule is a pale yellow color that is spiny. The tree is one of the earliest to lose their leaves in the fall turning to a nice yellow and red color before falling off. The buckeye tree has learned to adapt pretty well for survival. It has also shown great resistance to fungus and disease. There are only six known diseases that affect the tree. One of the most common and most serious problems that the buckeye tree will experience is leaf scorch. Most likely caused by drought conditions or pollution. The buckeye tree is polygamo–monoecious. That is, of course, if someone is going to college. For me, I'm using my last year of high school to come to the conclusion of where I want to attend college. There are plenty of college options, but I have narrowed it to two colleges I would like to attend: Owens Community College and Bowling Green State University. Owens and Bowling Green are both great options for me, but I believe I would have a better time and experience if I went to Bowling Green because there are many activities and extracurriculars that I could be in. Scott The Ohio State University Professor: Margaret Halter Nursing 7500: Health Policy & Advocacy Political Action: Modernize the Nurse Practice Act Healthcare reform and politics are on the forefront of most citizens throughout the United States. Our access to healthcare has become a barrier for many citizens, and a hurdle for the advanced practiced registered nurses (APRN) throughout the years. Strict state laws have burdened APRNs and limited their practice throughout Ohio. It would be prudent to follow suit of other states, and retire the Collaborative Agreement; Richards and Polsky (2014) noted an immediate 20 to 30 percent increase in nurse practitioner providers in those particular states after it was retired. House Bill 216 (H.B. 216) helps modernize the Nurse Practice Act and the retire the mandatory collaborative agreement and extensive drug formulary. It seems as if there is always something negative that could be said about even the best restaurants in the country, not even one is entirely perfect. It's incredibly hard to find a great restaurant that has attentive servers, high quality food served in a timely manner, a friendly atmosphere, and overall cleanliness. Incredibly, I have found an impeccable restaurant that not only meets all of the criteria listed above, it exceeds them. Uno's Pizzeria & Grill in Dayton Ohio has absolutely amazed me with unbeatable service, food, and much more every time I have dined with them. The restroom was just as pristine as the rest of the restaurant, there were no giant globs of soap all over the counter, they had high energy efficient hand dryers, and all toiletries were stocked. Even the mirrors were spotless! It's often said that you can judge the cleanliness of a restaurant 's kitchen by the cleanliness of the restrooms. With the spotlessness of this restroom, I wasn't the least bit worried about the cleanliness of the kitchen. I returned back to the table not even five minutes later and our drinks, as well as our appetizers were served! I couldn't believe how fast it came. We ordered spinach artichoke dip that was served in a bread bowl. I'd highly recommend this appetizer, it was truthfully life changing. As we enjoyed our appetizer our waiter frequently returned to our table and conversed with us, as well as to check on the quality of our food and get our orders for the main dish. • 54. Summary Of AinT I A Woman 'Ain't I A Woman' is a speech given by a woman named Sojourner Truth. Her real name was Isabella Baumfree. She was born into slavery in 1797. Her childhood was spent on a New York estate owned by a Dutch American named Colonel Johannes Hardenbergh. She experienced the miseries of being sold and mistreated. Around 1815, she fell in love wih a fellow slave named Robert, but Robert's master forced them apart. Then, she was forced to marry a slave named Thomas and they had five children. After her master failed to keep his promise to free her in 1827, Isabella ran away. Isabella was experiencing a religious conversion before she became an itinerant preacher and decided to change her name to Sojourner Truth. She became involved in the antislavery movement, and by the 1850s she was involved in the woman's rights movement as well. She became one of the most powerful advocates for human rights in the nineteenth century. She delivered this speech at the 1851 Women's Rights Convention held in Akron, Ohio. After that, she continued to speak out for the rights of African Americans and women during and after the Civil War. Sojourner Truth died in Battle Creek, Michigan, in 1883. In 'Ain't I a Woman', Sojourner speaks on the inequalities that women and blacks faced at that time in America. This speech has a powerful message and became so famous afterwards. In the beginning of her speech, she used the word 'children' to her audiences. Maybe Sojourner wanted to build a connection between her and her audiences. By calling them 'children', it made them feels like they were listening to their mother. In her speech she said, "That man over there says that women need to be helped into carriages, and lifted over ditches, and to have the best place everywhere. Nobody ever helps me into carriages, or over mud–puddles, or gives me any best place! And ain't I a woman? Look at me! Look at my arm! I have ploughed and planted, and gathered into barns, and no man could head me! And ain't I a woman? I could work as much and eat as much as a man – when I could get it – and bear the lash as well! Roman women were washing their clothes in the River Tiber, below which animal fats from the sacrifices ran down into the river and created a soapy clay mixture. They found out that using the same cleansing substance, their clothes were getting cleaner, easier. From that time we know soap as soap (soap history.net). After the founding of "soap" from the Babylonians, the Egyptians also bathed regularly. They made soap by combining animal and vegetable oils that contain alkaline salts so it can make a soap–like material but they used it for treating skin diseases and also for washing. At about that exact time, Moses gave personal laws to the Israelites, and he also said cleanliness to health and religious purification were very related. Then the Israelites knew that mixing ashes and oils made a type of gel. The Greeks did not use soap like the Babylonians, or the Egyptians. • 60. The Many Themes in Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, Ohio Essay The Many Themes in Winesburg, Ohio Winesburg, Ohio is a compilation of short tales written by Sherwood Anderson and published as a whole in 1919. The short tales formulate the common themes for the novel as follows: isolation and loneliness, discovery, inhibition, and cultural failure. In order to examine these themes, Anderson's history must be understood and examined to provide illumination upon why Anderson came to such beliefs about human life. Sherwood Anderson was born on September 13, 1876, in Camden, Ohio. In 1884, Anderson and his family moved to the small town of Clyde, Ohio. Clyde, Ohio, is the model for the town of Winesburg. Anderson hated his father because of the lack of love shown to his mother and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... At the end of the story "Adventure," Anderson writes "began trying to force herself to face bravely the fact that many people must live and die alone, even in Winesburg (Anderson, Sherwood)." The themes of loneliness and isolation are expressed by describing the characters as grotesques. The grotesques are the people who have become obsessed with an idea or mannerism, such that, they have lost contact with their fellow Man. Anderson sets the course for the theme of isolation in the first three chapters, excluding "The Book of the Grotesque." The first chapter is called "Hands" and involves the sad story of Wing Biddlebaum. Because Biddlebaum is accused of having molested students that he taught, his hands embody the shame that he carries. Fearing that the presence of his hands will be misinterpreted, Biddlebaum hides his expressive hands. By creating the symbol of hands in this chapter, Anderson creates an effective symbol to express the theme of isolation in the novel. Because a person's physical hands are used to communicate feeling, "Hands" is a tale about one of the sources of isolation, the inability to communicate feeling. "Paper Pills" is the second chapter of the novel and deals with another cause of isolation, the inability to communicate thought. Because Doctor Reefy is afraid of communicating directly to another person, he writes his thoughts on little pieces of paper to prevent his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Some students know exactly what their plans are, while others have no idea. Being one who has known what my post–high school plans are for quite some time and knowing that I want to earn a Strategic Communications degree from Ohio University, I am able to begin thinking about life after college. One of the biggest decisions a person will need to make almost immediately after college is deciding where to start their life. I have thought about staying in Findlay, my hometown, but have also really contemplated moving to Cleveland or one of its surrounding suburbs. While both Findlay and Cleveland are great places to live, finding a job and settling down in Findlay, rather than residing in the Cleveland area, is the better option for me because of the opportunities it offers. Coming back to Findlay after graduating from college is the most ethical choice for me because of the jobs the town has to offer. With a Strategic Communications degree, one living in the Findlay area can get a job working as a Recruiting Specialist at Automatic Data Processing's Recruitment Process Outsourcing office, as an Investor Relations Manager at Cooper Tire and Rubber Company, or as the director of Visit Findlay, the city and county's Convention and Visitors Bureau, once the position opens up ("Communications Jobs in Findlay, OH").
