One main argument was the debate between who was going to occupy Boston first. As we know it
was the colonist, but McCullough believes that if the British took matters into their own hands and
took over Dorchester Heights then the war would have had a completely different outcome.
Therefore, McCullough is saying that since the British military was immensely strong and well
trained they would have had the colonist beat without a doubt and would have won the war as a

with them. Arnold was left with 600 men and they were reduced to eating candles, dogs, and shoe
leather. After they marched through the 350 miles of snow and rain Arnold earned the undying
respect of his men and the nickname as America's Hannibal. The Battle of Quebec (1775) Arnold
had planned to take Quebec but a rainstorm had prevented any movement for up to three days. In
the three days the intercepted letter allowed British to bring more reinforcements for more

to the expiration of their subscription. Arnold was soon to lose a number of his own for the same
reason and to smallpox which broke out among the American forces. As snow began to fall and the
battle began on December 31, 1775 but things went badly for the Americans as Colonel
Montgomery fell and Arnold was severely wounded in the leg. Daniel Morgan was forced to
takeover but they were trapped and without knowledge of the area they were forced to surrender.
Arnold refused to surrender by saying that they would not leave unless they were successful then he
started bellowing orders from his sickbed. Arnold also requested for reinforcements that he received

Swiftly and stealthy the Green Mountain Boys, under the command of Ethan Allen and Benedict
Arnold, captured Fort Ticonderoga from the British on May 10, 1775. This decisive victory and

Women should be allowed to serve in combat roles in the military Some argue that women should
not serve in combat because; they have never served in any type of combat operations in the history
of the American military. Positions in the military have been designed specifically for women and
how they perform their duties. No evidence can be produced that women have the abilities, physical
strength, or motivation to engage in combat operations, the physical differences from their male
counterparts are so extreme; women cannot maintain the agility or psychological confidence that

Daniel Shays
Daniel Shays served role as an American officer in the American Revolution from 1775 to 1780 and
also became known as one of the leaders of Shays Rebellion, which lasted from 1786 to 1787. In
1780 he resigned from the army, and settled in Pelham, Massachusetts, where he held numerous
town offices. Soon after, wealth reigned in America at the signing of the peace treaty in 1783, but
was quickly transformed into a severe economic depression. He began his rebellion when property
holders, including himself, began losing their belongings through confiscations for unpaid debts and
taxes and became subject to debtor's imprisonment. Protests then followed, with threats of violence
against the courts conducting the enforcements and arraignments. This is when Shays arose as one
of the several leaders of what came to be known as Shays Rebellion. After the Rebellion was over,
he and approximately a dozen others were sentenced to death by the Supreme Court of
Massachusetts. However, towards the end of the rebellion, Shays had escaped to Vermont, soon
