Pros And Cons Of Transhumanism
Transhumanism is a "is a politically and emotionally charged word that scientists are referring to as
the augmentation of the human condition through technology, primarily to enhance human
intellectual, physical, and psychological capabilities" (Jiang, 2015). Technological advancements play
an ever–increasing part in our lives, more so now than any other time in mankind 's history. With
advances in the fields of engineering, science, robotics, and neuroscience, I believe we are on the
precipice of great and drastic change. This could equally lead to an ethical and social meltdown in our
society. I think this fundamentally is a wrong idea because it goes against Gods creation, and core
human values. Per (Ćirković, 2016), "Bio conservatives have argued against bio enhancement, as they
believe that it is aimed at intervening in what has been ordained by God or given to us by nature."
One of the center ideas of a transhumanists thought process is immortality. As (Rectenwald, 2015)
states, "If it were technologically possible, why wouldn't we want to transcend our current species."
An equally good question for those in support of transhumanism should be, after the transcendence of
humanity, what's next? In this innovative world of ours, we 're seeing a huge increment in wearable

Chapter: 1 Introduction
In today's modern world is heavily dependent on continuous and reliable power supply. Many of the
industrial processes, manufacturing, production, repairing, maintenance and not to forget a whole city
is heavily dependent on this continuous supply. It is a harsh reality to live in system without problems
is next to impossible. This problems in general are called 'faults' in the power grid language.
On daily basis many faults occur on the power grid and steps are to be taken to eliminate/remove this
faults as quick as possible. If the fault persists for long it could result in a havoc and loss of huge
amount of money, which is unacceptable.
The faults mainly occurring on a power grid includes over–current, over–voltage and short circuit. It
is also a harsh reality that this problems cannot be to some extent kept in mere attention of humans,
whose capability and speed to some extent are limited.
Hence a fast acting mind is required that takes care of this problem. To solve this problem PLC
(Programmable logic controller) comes into the picture. It is used to operate relays (a type of switch)
which in turn assists the CB (circuit breaker) to isolate the faulty part from the healthy one as quick as
possible. It operates as per the logic stored in the mind of the PLC by the user. The program language

A Brain–Computer Interface is a communication and control system in which human mind can be
translated to the external world without the help of the normal output pathways of muscles and
nerves. Each time we do something or think about doing something, our brain generates distinct
signals. These signals corresponding to an activity, has a pattern. Finding this pattern is a challenging
job and is the main task of any Brain–Computer Interface. A BCI acquires these signals from the brain
of a user in the form of Electroencephalography (EEG). Then after pre processing, feature extraction
and classification, it translates these signals into meaningful commands or instructions to drive a
device or application. Electroencephalography is used to record electrical fields that represent the
brain signals and are generated due to the local brain function.
Most of the applications today are only used in computers and just focus on the realization of
direction strategies. To meet the potential increasing user's needs and explore interacting processes

The Pros And Cons Of Robots
My entire life, from what I can remember, has always been accompanied by technology or robots.
From a young age I played the newest video game consoles: Playstation 1, Playstation 2, Nintendo
DS, Gameboy. Along with those game consoles I would play on the computer we kept in my parents
bedroom. I got my first flip phone in 5th grade with the IPhone 4 following 6th grade year. My very
own laptop came 7th grade year. As you can see, I have had many experiences with a variety of
consoles and devices. Technology has just always fascinated me, when I would play games, I would
be left with a certain greed to play more and more. Now a days, you have robots like Amazon Alexa
or Siri in the IPhones that can talk to you, do commands, and even answer questions. Every year
companies make robots with more intelligence, but lets look at robots from a smaller standpoint. I
believe everyone has a general idea what a robot looks like; I can guarantee you see a human like
figure that's more intelligent than the average joe. Although you're not completely wrong, robots come
in just about every shape and size. (National Geographic) According to an article written by Robohub
from National Geographic, "What a robot looks like depends on its purpose. Flying robots might look
like helicopters, or have wings like insects or birds. Cleaning robots often look like little vacuums."
