Apollo Lunar Exploration Project Analysis
The Apollo lunar exploration project was perhaps the single most ambitious engineering project of the 20th century. Science was not the reason Apollo
went to the moon, its most lasting legacy may be that 40 years after the last Apollo left the surface of the Moon scientific papers are still being
published based on the samples returned by the six lunar missions.
Lunar samples are the only extraterrestrial material brought back from a specific geographical location by spacecraft. They have been of great value in
advancing our understanding of the moon and the history of our solar system. An immense amount of scientific work has been done on them by
scientists around the world and the quantity of information they have provided is staggering.

Background
Renaissance Corporation Limited
Renaissance has been a publicly listed company in New
Zealand since 1968. Though the company has existed in many forms, its current name was adopted in 1997, at which time key business concentrations
were also developed. It functions along three key business streams:
(1) distribution, (2) education, and (3) e–business. The company has built a successful information technology distribution business with a number of
leading international brands.
Renaissance has, in the past, had exclusive distribution rights for Apple computer products in New Zealand. However, the global policy of the
computer manufacturer now prohibits exclusive deals.
Though exclusivity is no longer possible, Renaissance is still the sole wholesale distributor for Apple locally.
The manufacturer has not moved to cultivate relationships with other New Zealand distributors and has expressed no intention to do so in the future,
in spite of the fact that it has done so elsewhere in the world. Sole distributorship of
Apple products provides Renaissance with a degree of credibility in the market.
Renaissance achieves economies of scale through the distribution of multiple brands. The company

Education Standards: Common Core
Lately, there has been much argument over the implementation of the Common Core. The Common Core was a creation of the government to enhance
America's education system through the modification of the current education standards. It forces students to think more critically and have a deeper
understanding of the material that they are learning. The Common Core should not be instigated because it compels teachers and students to change
their learning and teaching methods which could have a major influence on their education. There are countless pros and cons to the Common Core.
The following paragraphs will outline both sides. The Common Core allows students to be enhanced thinkers by sanctioning them to critically evaluate
and make conclusions rather than memorizing the meaning of literary terms and characters (Cameron, A19). This enhances students' skills and permits
them to participate in a more active learning role. The Common Core demands more from students, in which students have to live up to those
standards. With the Common Core, teachers have to "ensure that every child is thinking, participating, inquiring, and working with others ... and
discovering" (Cameron, A19). Under the Common Core, students nationwide will gain the same knowledge and skills as others required for future
jobs. In order for the Common Core to unify the standards, the requirement for standardized testing nationwide is absolutely necessary (Meador, Pros
and Cons). Thus, allowing states to compare

QUESTION 6: GIVEN YOUR ASSESSMENT OF KRISPY KREME 'S HEALTH, WHY DID IT 'S STOCK PRICE DROP BY 80% BETWEEN
2003 AND 2004?
The question is what they do wrong for the business that is nearly more than 70 years, what makes them fall so quickly especially in year 2003 and
2004, there are at least 2,300 franchised businesses in Unites States, many that are successful, but there are difficulties in the franchise model, and
Krispy Kreme with the combination of ambitions, greed, and inexperience in managed to stumble into most of them.
As Krispy Kreme pursued its ambitious growth strategy, it was making mistakes in its finance department as well, except for the company 's plan to

Krispy Kreme also rolled into the price the costs of closing stores and compensating the operating manager and principal owner of the Michigan
franchise to stay on as a consultant. Both of these expenses became part of the intangible reacquired franchise rights asset on the company 's balance
sheet, rather than costs that would have reduced the company 's reported earnings. Krispy Kreme announced in a December 2004 8–K filing that it will
need to make an adjustment of between $3.4 million and $4.8 million to properly record the compensation as an expense. A second adjustment of some
$500,000 will reverse the improper recording of interest income.
In its December 2004 8–K, Krispy Kreme revealed that there would need to be adjustments made to the accounting for the Golden Gate Doughnuts
purchase as well a total of $3.5 million to correct improperly recorded compensation expenses and management fees that had been included in the
purchase price. The company will also make a similar correction to fix errors made in the acquisition of a franchise in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The following month, the company announced that the United States Attorney 's Office of the Southern District of New York was also joining the fray
a move indicating concern about possible criminal misconduct. In April, Cooper shored up the business by securing $225

Personal Essay: Returning To The Moon
Returning to the Moon
In May of 1961 President Kennedy famously challenged the U.S to go to the moon and back by the end of the decade. In 1961 there were several
challenges that had to be overcome in order to meet this goal. We didn't have rockets that could get there, we didn't have guidance systems that could
point us in that direction, we didn't how the human body would react in space, and, of course, it was going to be very expensive. However, in July of
1969, we met the President's challenge. Apollo 11 landed on the moon and two Americans walked on the moon for the first time. After Apollo 11, we
visited the moon 5 more times. The last time was in December of 1972. That was 45 years ago. It's time to go back!
One of the first problems to getting to the moon was that our rockets weren't powerful enough. NASA scientists took the best minds from the best
rocket and airplane manufacturing companies and asked them to work as a team to answer this problem. These real smart people came up with a new
multistage design for rockets using new materials. They also had to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
We knew somethings about gravity and speed but not enough to be sure. We also knew some basic theory about how things would work in space but
most of what we thought we knew was untested. We had to design computers with enough power to make all the calculations were needed to be made
fast enough to be able to use. The government asked IBM and Hewlett Packard to help out by building the computers for the navigation systems we
needed. The first computers were the size of a small house and had less power than a simple modern cell phone. Since then the computer industry has
improved on that technology to the point we all have computers that fit in out hands. Also, almost every car made these days has computers that control

The Oceanus Procellarum was the target of two different unmanned lunar missions. (National Aeronatics and Space Administration [NASA], n.d.) The
western side was the landing site of Surveyor 1, and the eastern side side was the site of Surveyor 3, according to NASA's website. (n.d.) The
Surveyor program was built with three goals in mind: research ways for man to land on the moon safely, provide data on the conditions of the moon and
compare it with the Apollo missions design, and add to the general scientific knowledge of the moon. (NASA, 1967)
Surveyor 1 was launched on May 30, 1966 at 2:41 Eastern Time. (NASA, n.d.) It was the first United States mission to land on the moon. (Arizona

A Search for Hope
Famous English poet and playwright William Shakespeare uses "hope" in King Richard III as "True hope is swift, and flies with swallow's wings:
Kings it makes gods, and meaner creatures kings" (Shakespeare). Shakespeare likens "hope" to wings that elevate people during its existence, a
power which strengthens people. During my research different sources, from academic writings to visual sources, discussed how the result of an aim
is affected by "hope". The results that I gained from my research have shown that people can't achieve their dreams in the lack of hope. Hope is the
irreplaceable element of success.
The dictionary gives a basic meaning of hope, but the explanation of the word is deficient. The Oxford dictionary, an online dictionary which is
created by The Oxford University, defines hope as "to want something to happen and think that is possible"(Hope). The denotation by The Oxford
dictionary vitiates the true meaning of the word "hope". "To want something to happen" (Hope) can be the explanation of require/desire, however,
simplifying hope like that would be ignoring the effects of hope which are beyond desiring. After the requirement, having hope for the aim would help
in the process of achieving. Defining second part of hope as "to think something is possible" (Hope) would be insufficient because hope can make
people believe and attach themselves to their aim even though in the situations which are called impossible. With this belief, hope can make people

During the second week of July, 1971, Kissinger arrived in Beijing, where he heard the words by then Chinese Prime Minister Zhou Enlai: "In our

Even after all had been said and done with launching men to the moon, Apollo's improvements to science and technology has been more than a blessing
from the data that came from the Moon landings, such as discovering the origin of our entire solar system. Soon, Spin–off technology had been
developed, followed by wealth, new products, and ideas that made life safe, easy, and happy. (Spudis). NASA's brilliant idea to explore space and
use funds led to the advancement of new technology, technology that helped improve what humans now use in their daily lives, and even create
completely new ideas and ways of doing certain things. Not just after the Apollo 11 missions, but the discoveries found by NASA in general
completely changed the way humans now live in drastic ways, such as being able to take an echocardiogram, sleep on a memory foam mattress,

declination in sales. (Appendix K) The problem can be shown by two aspects. Firstly, the company reacted to the tax increase by continuing the
existing price policy, which implies that they did not know what the customers need. Secondly, its competitors reacted by taking aggressive advertising

In conclusion, the company adopted the market niche strategy in order to target the specific group of customers. However, the sense of crisis and the

Gender Roles in Japan Essay
It is no secret that for centuries, the Japanese woman has been, to most observers, a model of elegance and graceful beauty. A picture of a
kimono–clad, modest, and often silent woman has been plastered everywhere, allowing for the upmost passive subjection. If we look deeper into this
image of woman, can we tell if this picture is complete? How do these women painted in representative images far in the modern world? The ideal
woman in Japan is expected to be both a good wife, and a wise mother. Though these seem like reasonable expectations, there is a much deeper
meaning to them that has shown signs of being outdated. During the 1800's and 1900's, women were subjected to society's vision of them, and could
not break free for fear of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
"She is intelligent, modest, unselfish, and always thoughtful of the other members of the family. She is particular about her manner and impresses
everybody she meets with her graceful dignity...She rises earlier and retires later than anybody else in the family. She has never allowed herself to
enjoy a lazy Sunday morning in bed, and the sickbed is the only place for her to rest...Endurance and repression are her greatest ideals. She says to
me, 'Endurance a woman should cultivate more than anything else. If you endure well in any circumstance, you will achieve happiness." This quote
is representative of the popular stereotype of Japanese women. It defines how they worked hard at home to please the men, and did whatever was
expected of them without complaint. A key word in this quote is endurance. It is stated that a woman who endures well in any circumstance will
achieve happiness, and what is said is true.
History reports that though there were many women in leadership positions (Queens, empresses, etc.), they appeared to be second–class citizens. It
seemed as though the only relationship they were prompted to have was with their husbands. However, they endured. They came to the realization that
if this is how life would be, this is the life they would have to get used to. Due to multiple different influences, there are many inconsistencies when it
comes to the role of women in ancient Japan.

Viable Crypto Currency or Investment Bubble Essay
Imagine a currency that can be sent around the globe instantly from one client to another, without any hefty transaction fees. Although, this
achievement is seemingly impossible, Bitcoin, a form of digitalized monetary value, accomplishes just that. Until recently, money has always been
perceived as a physical note or coin that can be used to make transactions. However, Bitcoin is basically an encrypted digital block that can be stored
in an online wallet and securely stored, sent, and received via a special network on the Internet (Friedman). Programmed in 2009 by an anonymous
group known as "Satoshi Nakomoto," (Timpane), Bitcoin appeared on online exchanges as the world's first decentralized virtual currency. It has been
bought and sold... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Without a bank to manage the supply of this crypto currency, the price is unregulated and proves to be extremely volatile. This price fluctuation is one
quality that is holding the legitimacy of Bitcoin back because it needs a consistent value for practical use in the monetary world. As speculative
investors buy and sell Bitcoin, the price varies at extreme rates. But in support of Bitcoin's long–term future, the price has shown a steady uptrend in
the past year, peaking at around $1200 (See Apendix I). Eventually, a steady value will be reached to establish the actual price of Bitcoin. The positive
aspect of Bitcoin's decentralization greatly outweighs this temporary problem of volatility. The lack of the Federal Reserve's regulation essentially
allows this virtual currency to eradicate inflation. Ed Grabianowski describes inflation as a process when a unit of currency loses value because more
units are produced and put into circulation by the regulator in attempts to solve financial issues ("What Exactly is Inflation?"). Bitcoin does not face
this problem since it has a predetermined supply: 21 million digitalized blocks ("Betting on the Bitcoin Buzz"). Instead of having a regulator through
banks and the government, which can inherently fail, Bitcoin relies on regulation through a mathematical equation. To comprehend this regulation, the
process of mining must first be understood.

The Controversy Over New Airport Security Measures Essay
The country's recently heightened airport security measures
have become a source of controversy and debate across the
Nation. Due to a recent attempted act of terrorism, where a man
on an international flight to Detroit attempted to blow up the
plane using a bomb, the department of homeland security has taken
new measures to ensure national security in the form of new high–
tech full–body scans and pat down procedures in airports. The new
body scanning machines create images of people without their
clothing, and the new pat down procedure is generally considered
too personal. Many people feel that the new airport security

terrorists will just change their methods to fit the new security
system. Bruce Schneier, a security expert, told The New York

they're going to do something else" (Schwartz, The New York

On the other side of the argument, the TSA (Transportation
Security Administration)is more concerned with safety and
security, than with individual rights. They argue that "adopting
a full body pat down procedure helps detect hidden and dangerous
items, including explosives" (CBS New York). Full–body scanners
are able to detect non–metallic items as well as metallic items,
whereas metal detectors can obviously only detect metal items.
They help to make terrorist attacks more difficult. Former

Simplicity By William Zinsser
William Zinsser is an American writer who wrote an informational guide to writing. He made a decision to revise a specific chapter called
Simplicity. In the year 1980, the first version of Simplicity was created, then came 1998 followed up by 2006. In the first version, 1980, Zinsser
created a long and wordy paper. He used specific examples but included details that were unnecessary. This is ironic because the paper is about how
writers can write unnecessary words and phrases creating complicated sentences. He was not inclusive of gender, naming men as writers and only
using wives as examples of distraction. This draft had a complete count of 20 paragraphs. The 1998 version had few changes when compared to the
1980's version. There... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Paragraph 2–2006) He changed viscous language to clotted language. This makes sense, he used a more commonly used word to this time period
making it readable to a younger generation of readers and writers. (Paragraph 2–2006) He took out "–on Christmas Eve or any other eve–," this made
sense because it was an extra unneeded detail. The sentence made complete sense just as "what father or mother can put together a child's toy from
the instructions on the box?". In paragraph 4 he changed what was originally "the president of a major university" in versions from 1980 and 98 to
"the president of my university" in the 2006 version, making a personal connection with the reader. (Paragraph 8– 2006) He completely redid the
paragraph. In the 1980 and 1994 version, the 8th paragraph was completely unneeded and included a story that seemed unrelated to the topic of writing.
It started as "I love to be alone". The 2006 version of this paragraph wasn't completely off topic from the original. I still believe this paragraph isn't
needed, even with the shortening. With the 2006 version he has taken out the "he's" and switched to "they". This allows women to feel included,
making it more likely for a female to enjoy the writing. It felt noninclusive in the first two versions. In the newest version (paragraph 10) he included
devices relevant to that time period. Instead of saying "he," he said a man or woman could be distracted by many forces

Integrity of the Game: Life Lessons through Sports
When I was four I started playing softball; when I was nine I started playing tennis: and when I was fourteen I started playing volleyball. Up until
now I thought these were just ways of my parents getting rid of me for a couple hours a day. Up until now I did not realize that I learned anything
more from playing these sports than hitting a homerun, serving a kick serve, or being able to set a ball 20 feet away. Now, I realize that all these
sports have taught me some key life lessons. These sports have taught me that mistakes are great, to handle stress, and how to increase positive energy
even when things are not going well. They have given me a lifetime of friends, leadership skills and more confidence in what I do. In short, playing a
sport has endless benefits.
One of the more obvious benefits is better health. This would not be temporary health benefits but life long. It is sad to hear that in the United States
alone there has been a growth in childhood obesity. 33% of children and adolescents are obese. By participating in a sport, it helps regulates the
calories that are being burned, and it helps one maintain a healthy weight. The Report from the United Nations Inter–Agency Task Force on Sport for
Development and Peace states that children and teens, upon playing a sport, increase the development of healthy bones, efficient heart and lung
function, and improved motor skills and cognitive function. All skills that are utilized in everyday life. With that, this leads

Summary: Maclaine Parker Vs. Bloomer Girl
2) Facts On August 6, 1965 Shirley MacLaine Parker entered a contract with Twentieth Century Fox film corporation to play the main female role
in a Los Angeles musical called "Bloomer Girl." In the contract the defendant would pay the plaintiff $53,571.42 a week for fourteen weeks
starting on May, 23 1966, for a total of 750,000. On April 4, 1966 Parker received a letter from Fox stating that they canceled the production of
Bloomer girl but to avoid any damages for not complying to their obligations under their written contract they offered her the leading role in a film
called Big Country. Fox gave her a week to respond to the request but failed too and the offer expired. Later Parker sued Fox to recover the agreed
guaranteed compensation for "Bloomer Girl" and the defendant's breach of contract. 3) Issue Was the job that Fox offered Parker in Big Country
comparable employment and was Parker obligated to accept to mitigate damages? 4) Decisions The judge ruled in favor of the plaintiff. Stating that
the roles are different. Fox has to prove that the new role MacLaine... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Playing in a musical can be much more demanding and tiring, due to the work of a dancer and singer being far more strenuous. Memorizing and
perfecting your lyrics, lines, and choreography is not always easy. When filming a musical scene that includes singing or dancing, the scene must
be completely reshot as to not disrupt the fluency. In dramas, it is easy to reshoot a simple line or action, as it can be easily edited to not disrupt
the fluency. It is harder to redo a complete song vs reshooting a sentence or phrase for both the actors and the crew. Things like this puts musicals on
a much higher level than a drama. So to compensate the same actress by offering her a part in a drama while dropping the musical does not only
demean her skills as an actress, but it is a complete breach of the clear contract she was

The Creation Of Sputnik
On October 4, 1957 the Soviet Union launched a satellite called Sputnik 1 into space. This marked the start of the space race. Americans were
terrified of the chance of the Soviet's sending missiles from space. However Dwight. D. Eisenhower was not scared and did not do much.
About a month later on November 3, 1957 the Soviets launched a new spacecraft called Sputnik 2. Sputnik 2 sent the first animal into space, it was
named Laika. Lakia did not survive, but the Russians were in the lead.
America decided to do something so they attempted to send Vanguard, ( satellite, nobody was in it) on December 6th 1957 into earth's orbit. At that

The Media's Negative Affect on Women Essay
The Media's Negative Affect on Women Our society's media portrays women in a very distorted and twisted way. Women in the media are made out
to be purely sexual objects. Only images of women who are thin, over sexualized, and what our cultural believes to be "beautiful" are shown on
television, magazines, and ads. Lyrics in popular music often also degrade women. Constantly being bombarded by these inaccurate depictions of how
females should look and be treated has many negative effects on women. Inaccurate depictions of females in the media causes women to have
self–esteem issues, become over sexualized at a young age, and makes mistreatment by males seem acceptable. In our culture the "thin ideal" is

Self–esteem can hit an all–time low for women who find themselves pursuing these methods but still don't find themselves measuring up to the
women in the images. What these women don't realize is that the images they are seeing are fictional and that the women's bodies do not look that
way in the real world. Yet these women are still trying to attain this body type. They are working for an unachievable goal, and that is to have a body
that looks like the photo–shopped and airbrushed bodies that are shown in the media. Not only can the media cause women's self–esteem to plummet,
it can cause them to become over sexualized. Sexualization is defined by "the process of emphasizing the sexual nature of an individual (Fraser–Thill)".
In the media this happens constantly. "Virtually every media form studied provides ample evidence of the sexualization of women, including
television, music videos, music lyrics, movies, magazines, sports media, video games, the internet and advertising (Zurbriggen)". Being constantly
surrounded by these forms of media beginning at a very young age, young girls grow up looking up to and wanting to emulate the women that they
see. Women in the media are portrayed as nothing more than sexual objects. They dress in provocative clothing and imply sexual readiness in their
posture and facial expressions. It is extremely unhealthy for young girls to view this material, let alone aspire to replicate it. In 2007 the American

Review Of ' The Crucible '
Kristina Garcia

December 11, 2016
What is Corruption?
Corruption can mean so many things and can be interpreted in countless ways but in the most simplistic way of explaining what it is, it is the misuse
of judgment, the struggle between what is right and what is wrong. No one really knows what led to corruption, but some say it was religious reasons
that led to this malfeasance, meaning the devil, while others believe different. People in today's society tend to relate this topic to politics because it is
most commonly occurs within that faction of society. Corruption is a reoccurring theme throughout The Crucible, it shows through the political,
McCarthyism, religious and personal reasons of the Colonial Era. The Crucible takes place in the early England colonies in Salem, Massachusetts
during what we know as the witch trials. It is based on a group of girls involved in "witch like" activities, who begin to accuse others of committing
witchcraft just so that they do not get into trouble. One girl controls the group, Abigail Williams, and she plots againstElizabeth Proctor who is married
to John Proctor, who Abigail had an affair with. Due to these childish and dramatic acts of Abigail and the girls, half the townspeople were taken to
trial and found guilty of witchery and worshipping the devil and were sentenced to hang. Not till the end did the townspeople realize their mistake
about the accusations, which turned out to be false.

One of the tasks performed by the Apollo 8 crew was to photograph the moon's surface, make visual observations about the moon. Many photographs
were taken during the orbit around the moon. These photographs were used to update existing maps and charts. Many of the photographs are in black
and white. The reason for this is that the resolution and clarity of the black and white photos was better than that of color photographs.
7. The Spacecraft:
Apollo 8 was very similar to Apollo 7. The main difference was that the forward pressure and ablative hatches were replaced by a combined forward
hatch. Also, there were couches added for the comfort of the crew. There was no lunar module on Apollo 8; however, there was a test module was
mounted that was similar in mass to the lunar module. This was done to verify that the lunar module could be stabilized for travel on future explorations.

and established the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, orNASA, to challenge the Soviets. In 1959, the Soviet's Luna I was the first to
escape orbit and fly near the Moon while the United States' Mariner 2 of 1962 was the first to travel to another planet. But in 1966, Luna 9 was the

Kennedy announced that before the end of the 1960s. America would land a man on the Moon a few weeks after Shepard's flight into space. Then,
on December 24, 1968, the US's Apollo 8 was the first manned spacecraft to orbit the Moon, and on July 20, 1969, Commander Neil Armstrong and
Air Force Colonel Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin were the first humans to walk on the Moon when their Lunar Excursion Module undocked from the Apollo 11
spacecraft and landed on the Moon (Robinson). The monumental achievement was broadcasted on televisions across the world where about 1/5 of
the earth watched Neil Armstrong take the first step and hear his famous line: "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind" on the
Moon (Aldrin). This was the moment when America won the space race. The space race created fear in America, with the launch of Sputnik I
Americans believed that the Russians would be able to launch nuclear missiles and spy on them from space ("Space Race"). However, when America's

Population Change in the Toronto Census Metropolitan Area...
Analysis Toronto CMA has experienced a rapid growth in population during the past decades. The question is: will current ministry policies on
planning cities suffice to keep the current standards of living if the growth in population continues with the same rate? Detailed analysis of the past
profile of population growth is needed to answer this question. However, because of the rapid rate of population growth, ministry needs to change
policies and set new plans to address housing, transportation and environmental problems.
Toronto CMA consists of 27 municipalities divided into four types: central city, inner suburb, outer suburb and rural fringe. Based on the census results
available at Statcan from 1961 to 2006, data are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This means that the population in central city has declined by 8.66 % in 2001 compared to its population in 1961. Graph1. Central City Population
Change from 1961 to 2001
According to Table 1, inner suburbs have overall positive rate of change in population from 1961 to 2001. This means that the population of inner
suburbs has increased from 1961 to 2001. If we look closer to the data, we can notice that East York and North York population has grown with faster
rate than other inner suburb municipalities. Graph2. Inner Suburbs Population Change from 1961 to 2001
As you can see from Graph 2, Scarborough has the fastest rate of growth from 1961 to 1981; however, its population drops by 26.99 % from 1981 to
1991.
If we look at the data corresponding to municipalities that are classified as outer suburb, we can observe that Caledon has the fastest rate of growth
from 1971 to 1981, Vaughan has the fastest rate of growth from 1981 to 1991 and 2001, and Brampton has the fastest rate of growth from 1971 to
2006 compared to other 13 municipalities listed under outer suburb. Below is the rate of change in population for Caledon, Vaughan, and Brampton
that respectively have the highest rates of growth from 1971 to 2006. Please refer to Appendix for other municipalities data.

Science And Technology: The Space Race
The Space Race started in the middle of the 1950's, and it was a technological race between Russia and the United States to get into space and land
on the moon. Russia was the first to successfully launch a satellite and launch a human into space, but the United States was the first to
successfully land a man on the moon. It impacted education because it made more people want to become engineers, so the education system had
to add more courses about math and science. The space race was good for the economy because it created jobs in all sorts of fields including science
and technology. Many people were focused on how we would respond to Russia because we are the world super power. The impact of the Space Race

alone created four hundred twenty thousand jobs and cost the United States twenty one billion dollars. Another eighteen thousands employees were
occupied at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral, Florida. In 1960, NASA made up fifty seven percent of the jobs in Hancock County,
Mississippi. Which is where Stennis Space Center. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi is where NASA tests its rockets, and space shuttles they are
going to launch at Kennedy Space Center. Johnson, Langley, Goddard, and Armstrong also created up a good percentage of United States employers.
Seventeen percent of the Jobs in Huntsville, Alabama came from NASA. NASA were not the only ones employing jobs for the United States space

Returning to the Moon: Why We Must Revisit the Lunar Surface

  • 1. Apollo Lunar Exploration Project Analysis The Apollo lunar exploration project was perhaps the single most ambitious engineering project of the 20th century. Science was not the reason Apollo went to the moon, its most lasting legacy may be that 40 years after the last Apollo left the surface of the Moon scientific papers are still being published based on the samples returned by the six lunar missions. Lunar samples are the only extraterrestrial material brought back from a specific geographical location by spacecraft. They have been of great value in advancing our understanding of the moon and the history of our solar system. An immense amount of scientific work has been done on them by scientists around the world and the quantity of information they have provided is staggering. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Dick Smith marketed his own Dick Smith–branded food products as not just Australian made but also made by Australian owned companies, thereby keeping employment and profits in Australia–threatening the brand image of rival multinational brands. We are starting to see the impact of the 'buy Australian' theme on the marketing plans of multinational companies. • 3. Renaissance has been a publicly listed company in New Zealand since 1968. Though the company has existed in many forms, its current name was adopted in 1997, at which time key business concentrations were also developed. It functions along three key business streams: (1) distribution, (2) education, and (3) e–business. The company has built a successful information technology distribution business with a number of leading international brands. Renaissance has, in the past, had exclusive distribution rights for Apple computer products in New Zealand. However, the global policy of the computer manufacturer now prohibits exclusive deals. Though exclusivity is no longer possible, Renaissance is still the sole wholesale distributor for Apple locally. The manufacturer has not moved to cultivate relationships with other New Zealand distributors and has expressed no intention to do so in the future, in spite of the fact that it has done so elsewhere in the world. Sole distributorship of Apple products provides Renaissance with a degree of credibility in the market. Renaissance achieves economies of scale through the distribution of multiple brands. • 4. Education Standards: Common Core Lately, there has been much argument over the implementation of the Common Core. The Common Core was a creation of the government to enhance America's education system through the modification of the current education standards. It forces students to think more critically and have a deeper understanding of the material that they are learning. The Common Core should not be instigated because it compels teachers and students to change their learning and teaching methods which could have a major influence on their education. There are countless pros and cons to the Common Core. The following paragraphs will outline both sides. The Common Core allows students to be enhanced thinkers by sanctioning them to critically evaluate and make conclusions rather than memorizing the meaning of literary terms and characters (Cameron, A19). This enhances students' skills and permits them to participate in a more active learning role. The Common Core demands more from students, in which students have to live up to those standards. With the Common Core, teachers have to "ensure that every child is thinking, participating, inquiring, and working with others ... and discovering" (Cameron, A19). Under the Common Core, students nationwide will gain the same knowledge and skills as others required for future jobs. In order for the Common Core to unify the standards, the requirement for standardized testing nationwide is absolutely necessary (Meador, Pros and Cons). Thus, allowing states to compare ... Krispy Kreme also rolled into the price the costs of closing stores and compensating the operating manager and principal owner of the Michigan franchise to stay on as a consultant. Both of these expenses became part of the intangible reacquired franchise rights asset on the company 's balance sheet, rather than costs that would have reduced the company 's reported earnings. Krispy Kreme announced in a December 2004 8–K filing that it will need to make an adjustment of between $3.4 million and $4.8 million to properly record the compensation as an expense. A second adjustment of some $500,000 will reverse the improper recording of interest income. In its December 2004 8–K, Krispy Kreme revealed that there would need to be adjustments made to the accounting for the Golden Gate Doughnuts purchase as well a total of $3.5 million to correct improperly recorded compensation expenses and management fees that had been included in the purchase price. The company will also make a similar correction to fix errors made in the acquisition of a franchise in Charlottesville, Virginia. • 7. Personal Essay: Returning To The Moon Returning to the Moon In May of 1961 President Kennedy famously challenged the U.S to go to the moon and back by the end of the decade. In 1961 there were several challenges that had to be overcome in order to meet this goal. We didn't have rockets that could get there, we didn't have guidance systems that could point us in that direction, we didn't how the human body would react in space, and, of course, it was going to be very expensive. However, in July of 1969, we met the President's challenge. Apollo 11 landed on the moon and two Americans walked on the moon for the first time. After Apollo 11, we visited the moon 5 more times. The last time was in December of 1972. That was 45 years ago. It's time to go back! One of the first problems to getting to the moon was that our rockets weren't powerful enough. NASA scientists took the best minds from the best rocket and airplane manufacturing companies and asked them to work as a team to answer this problem. These real smart people came up with a new multistage design for rockets using new materials. They also had to make ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 14. A Search for Hope Famous English poet and playwright William Shakespeare uses "hope" in King Richard III as "True hope is swift, and flies with swallow's wings: Kings it makes gods, and meaner creatures kings" (Shakespeare). Shakespeare likens "hope" to wings that elevate people during its existence, a power which strengthens people. During my research different sources, from academic writings to visual sources, discussed how the result of an aim is affected by "hope". The results that I gained from my research have shown that people can't achieve their dreams in the lack of hope. Hope is the irreplaceable element of success. The dictionary gives a basic meaning of hope, but the explanation of the word is deficient. The Oxford dictionary, an online dictionary which is created by The Oxford University, defines hope as "to want something to happen and think that is possible"(Hope). The denotation by The Oxford dictionary vitiates the true meaning of the word "hope". "To want something to happen" (Hope) can be the explanation of require/desire, however, simplifying hope like that would be ignoring the effects of hope which are beyond desiring. After the requirement, having hope for the aim would help in the process of achieving. Defining second part of hope as "to think something is possible" (Hope) would be insufficient because hope can make people believe and attach themselves to their aim even though in the situations which are called impossible. With this belief, hope can make people ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A picture of a kimono–clad, modest, and often silent woman has been plastered everywhere, allowing for the upmost passive subjection. If we look deeper into this image of woman, can we tell if this picture is complete? How do these women painted in representative images far in the modern world? The ideal woman in Japan is expected to be both a good wife, and a wise mother. This quote is representative of the popular stereotype of Japanese women. It defines how they worked hard at home to please the men, and did whatever was expected of them without complaint. A key word in this quote is endurance. It is stated that a woman who endures well in any circumstance will achieve happiness, and what is said is true. History reports that though there were many women in leadership positions (Queens, empresses, etc.), they appeared to be second–class citizens. It seemed as though the only relationship they were prompted to have was with their husbands. However, they endured. They came to the realization that if this is how life would be, this is the life they would have to get used to. Due to multiple different influences, there are many inconsistencies when it comes to the role of women in ancient Japan. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 28. Viable Crypto Currency or Investment Bubble Essay Imagine a currency that can be sent around the globe instantly from one client to another, without any hefty transaction fees. Although, this achievement is seemingly impossible, Bitcoin, a form of digitalized monetary value, accomplishes just that. Until recently, money has always been perceived as a physical note or coin that can be used to make transactions. However, Bitcoin is basically an encrypted digital block that can be stored in an online wallet and securely stored, sent, and received via a special network on the Internet (Friedman). Programmed in 2009 by an anonymous group known as "Satoshi Nakomoto," (Timpane), Bitcoin appeared on online exchanges as the world's first decentralized virtual currency. It has been bought and sold... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without a bank to manage the supply of this crypto currency, the price is unregulated and proves to be extremely volatile. This price fluctuation is one quality that is holding the legitimacy of Bitcoin back because it needs a consistent value for practical use in the monetary world. As speculative investors buy and sell Bitcoin, the price varies at extreme rates. But in support of Bitcoin's long–term future, the price has shown a steady uptrend in the past year, peaking at around $1200 (See Apendix I). Eventually, a steady value will be reached to establish the actual price of Bitcoin. The positive aspect of Bitcoin's decentralization greatly outweighs this temporary problem of volatility. The lack of the Federal Reserve's regulation essentially allows this virtual currency to eradicate inflation. Ed Grabianowski describes inflation as a process when a unit of currency loses value because more units are produced and put into circulation by the regulator in attempts to solve financial issues ("What Exactly is Inflation?"). Bitcoin does not face this problem since it has a predetermined supply: 21 million digitalized blocks ("Betting on the Bitcoin Buzz"). Instead of having a regulator through banks and the government, which can inherently fail, Bitcoin relies on regulation through a mathematical equation. To comprehend this regulation, the process of mining must first be understood. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the year 1980, the first version of Simplicity was created, then came 1998 followed up by 2006. In the first version, 1980, Zinsser created a long and wordy paper. He used specific examples but included details that were unnecessary. This is ironic because the paper is about how writers can write unnecessary words and phrases creating complicated sentences. He was not inclusive of gender, naming men as writers and only using wives as examples of distraction. This draft had a complete count of 20 paragraphs. This makes sense, he used a more commonly used word to this time period making it readable to a younger generation of readers and writers. The sentence made complete sense just as "what father or mother can put together a child's toy from the instructions on the box?". In paragraph 4 he changed what was originally "the president of a major university" in versions from 1980 and 98 to "the president of my university" in the 2006 version, making a personal connection with the reader. (Paragraph 8– 2006) He completely redid the paragraph. In the 1980 and 1994 version, the 8th paragraph was completely unneeded and included a story that seemed unrelated to the topic of writing. It started as "I love to be alone". The 2006 version of this paragraph wasn't completely off topic from the original. I still believe this paragraph isn't needed, even with the shortening. With the 2006 version he has taken out the "he's" and switched to "they". This allows women to feel included, making it more likely for a female to enjoy the writing. It felt noninclusive in the first two versions. In the newest version (paragraph 10) he included devices relevant to that time period. Corruption can mean so many things and can be interpreted in countless ways but in the most simplistic way of explaining what it is, it is the misuse of judgment, the struggle between what is right and what is wrong. No one really knows what led to corruption, but some say it was religious reasons that led to this malfeasance, meaning the devil, while others believe different. People in today's society tend to relate this topic to politics because it is most commonly occurs within that faction of society.
