National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched two similar twin robotic rovers
which were Spirit and Opportunity toward Mars on 10 June and 7 July 2003 (NASA 2012). Spirit
and Opportunity landed in Gusev Crater on 4 January 2004 and in Meridiani Planum on 25
January 2004 respectively (NASA2012). Opportunity is still operating and roving after 10 years
on the Martian surface while final communication of Spirit to the Earth took place on 22 March
2010, which is around six years into its mission (NASA 2012). The rovers were thought to last 20
times longer as compared to its original design. As part of NASA s MarsExploration Program, the
Mars Exploration Rovermission is a continuous multi mission effort to study Mars as a possible
habitation for past or present life and to look for signs of life as well as to prepare for human
exploration. Primary objective of the Mars Exploration Rover mission is to explore and
characterize a wide range of soils and rocks that possess clues or evidences to past water activity on
Mars (NASA 2012).

The item that I chose for my Art History 6K Project is a ceramic plate made in Egypt, or more
specifically, Fayyoum. The label accompanying the art piece included a year, 2007, which I
assume is the date in which the piece was found. The plate is made of clay, hardened through heat,
and finished with a glossy sealer. The colorscheme of the plate is very bright and colorful giving
off a happy vibe. The ceramic plate itself is an off white color with splashes of blue and green

results were quite accurate in that they were heavily technical with industry jargon and references
to other works and sources of information. From page to page, the results yielded a high level of
relevance to the topic with little that did not relate to what I was trying to learn. I could discern the
authority of the authors and originators because they had their titles and connection to the topic
clearly stated within the article. I had concrete evidence that these were field experts who had some
level of authority and therefore reliable knowledge to be publishing information regarding youth

I enjoyed reading this novel due to the descriptive passages relating to culture and the
captivating nature of the author s main focus. All things considered, the only way The Lassa
Ward could be more informative was if all the action was taken away and it became strictly non
fiction. One connection that I can form between the novel and my own life is the reaction and
feelings that Ross encountered after being left alone in the Lassa ward when Dr. Conteh
