Why Recycling Is Important
Introduction
Common signs that are seen on garbage trucks, dump trucks and trash cans, are reduce, reuse, and
recycle signs. The phrase 'Reduce, Reuse, Recycle' is taught to people all over the world with the
hope of making a clean atmosphere. It is known that recycling can have a huge impact on making
the world a better place, but what exactly is recycling? Recycling is the method of constructing or
producing new product from a product that has originally served its purpose. Items that are made up
of materials such as aluminum, plastic, and sorts of paper may be separated from your regular trash
and place in an acceptable bin. A large portion of the world is starting to notice the importance of
recycling; however, there is still a fair part of the population that is still unaware of the benefits of
recycling. Recycling is one amongst the simplest ways that for you to possess a positive impact on

3. Impact Of The Huge Investment On The Economy Of Commerce...
As it was mentioned before, Carr has good points regarding the huge investment on IT in the
infrastructure of commerce period. However, he should realize the importance of this investment in
the second stage too. He wrote this article in 2003 and maybe he was not aware enough about what
the real value of IT is. Although there are many successful companies which invested a lot on their
IT systems, but he insisted to underestimate the value of these investments. The huge investments in
the IT systems of Amazon and others giant companies is the key for their successful. Without
investing in the IT systems in the commoditization stage (as he referred to it), these companies
won't be able to compete in this intense market. I believe that he ... Show more content on

Now, it is hard for any company to survive in the global market without advance IT systems. I think
we do not have a lot of opportunities in this world. If we have a chance, we have to exploit it right
away and do not wait for others to have it. He had a point when he said waiting will save some
money, but this money is considered as an investment and not loss. There are many reasons why
these giant companies are successful in their business.
Investing in new IT systems will
* Reduce costs
Giant companies such as Amazon uses its ITs systems as an effective way to reduce costs. The IT
enables Amazon to have a competitive advantage over other rivals and leave them behind. IT was
not only help Amazon to do what it did before, but it was also enable it to expand more in new
directions.
* Create and build barriers to entry
Once a company has an advancement in their IT systems, it will be harder for others companies to
compete in the same business. These new rivals have to invest heavily to reach the same level of the
company that invest in its IT systems before them. Also, these rivals will try to copy the successful
company while the successful company works on something more advance.
These two factors are the most important factors that enabled these companies to be dominant in
their business.

5. Technology Has Made A Huge Impact On The World And Society...
Introduction
Technology has made a huge impact on the world and society today. It is used throughout many
peoples' daily lives and it has become a necessity in many professions due to its capabilities. In the
medical field, technology is used very frequently to fulfill many tasks. Because the medical field is
so broad, many different technologies are used throughout the different fields. Veterinarians use
different types of technology since they do not deal with humans. There are three main areas in
which technology is dispersed throughout veterinary medicine including: clinical technology,
communication technologies, and educational technologies (The Nerdy Vet, 2013). These
technologies are mainly used throughout the field and each category contains different capabilities.
Although there are positive and negative outcomes to using these different technologies, they all
serve a purpose!
Evolution of technology in Veterinary Medicine
Technology has come a long way as far as medicine. The biggest change in veterinary medicine has
been the ability to diagnose patients accurately. Before technology advanced, doctors would assume
that a patient had a certain issue but they were not too sure how correct the judgement was.
Veterinary medicine dates as far back as 9000 BC dealing with Middle Eastern countries. Because
the practice of veterinary medicine was new, there was minimal understanding of how tasks should
be done. Between 4000 and 3000 BC, Egyptians took matters into their

6. Honey Bees Have A Huge Economic Impact
Human society is extremely complex and fragile, built upon various pillars. One of them is the
honey bee. One out of three meals eaten by humans is made possible by honey bees. They are so
important that if all the honey bees were to die out, thousands of plants would follow, which could
lead to millions of people starving in the following years. On top of that, honey bees have a huge
economic impact. The dollar value of plants pollinated by them each year is around $265 billion.
Food we take for granted would just stop existing without them, or there would be a massive
decrease in productivity. Food including apples, onions, pumpkins, and also plants used for feeding
livestock and thus extremely important for our milk and meat. Einstein is often quoted as having
said, "If honey bees die out, humans will follow a few years later." Actually, he probably didn't say
that, but there might be some truth in the statement. It's unsettling, but honey bees have started to
disappear. Millions of hives have died in the last few years. Beekeepers all over the world have seen
an annual loss of 30–90% of their colonies. In the US alone, bees are steadily declining. From 5
million hives in 1988 to 2.5 million today. Since 2006, a phenomenon called "colony collapse
disorder" has affected honey bees in many countries. And we're not entirely sure what's causing it.
All we know is that it's pretty serious. Over the last few decades bees have seen an invasion of very
dangerous foes. Parasites

7. The Internet Is A Huge Impact On Our Daily Lives
The Internet is a beautiful thing. If our species looked back a few hundred years, we would never be
able to fathom having the capability to communicate with another human being on the other side of
the world within the click of a single button. The reality is here, the internet has become a massive
impact on our daily lives. We think, work, and communicate via the internet on a daily basis,
whether directly on computer or via an internet capable device such as a smartphone. It's impossible
to go anywhere without there being some sort of access to the network, and for some, it's impossible
to live without the internet. In developed countries, almost the entire region has the technological
capabilities to run a network through their infrastructure. These increasing technological capabilities
throughout the past few years have changed the way that information via the internet is processed
and stored. In today 's society, what once was considered personal information is no longer what it
use to be. We openly reveal what once was considered personal information for the everyone to read
on a daily basis. Meanwhile, we enjoy every moment on the internet, but society fails to realize
what really happens with our information when we browse the internet. Information privacy,
defined as the ability of the individual to control when, how, and to what extent his or her personal
information is communicated to others is one of the most important ethical, legal, social, and
political issue

8. The Pros And Cons Of A Hero
Superman, Batman, Ironman, Hulk, Thor, etc. These superheroes were all heroes in the world with a
superpower; however, in reality a hero is much more than having an amazing superpower. All
people have the potential to become a hero, and the traits and actions that make up a hero are inside
each and every one of us. Heroes are all around us in both the modern and past world. These heroes
are created in many ways, but it doesn't take a risky moment, or it doesn't take saving the world to
be a hero. A hero isn't always the strongest human being that risks their life, a hero is someone who
makes a positive impact in someone else's life and overcomes challenges. To begin, Bob Riley said,
"Hard times don't create heroes. It is during the hard times when the 'hero' within us is revealed."
This quote proves how a hero faces hard times, and a hero defeats these obstacles that face him or
her. In addition, there are many examples of heroes in the modern world. These unique heroes in the
world are regular people like you and me. The only difference is, these unique heroes take an extra
step and make a footprint in the world. To make this print, there were, and are many situations and
natural disasters in the word that help bring out these heroes. For example, during the 9/11 attacks
there were dozens of heroes. People from all different backgrounds became a hero saving others'
lives or having a positive impact in a random stranger's life. One hero during this troublesome time

Same Sex Marriage
One of the most controversial topics in the world to date is that of same sex marriage. It is no
surprise to anyone that eventually society would evolve to accept this social change phenomenon.
The United States can be seen as being amongst the top two most powerful countries in the world,
but if we were to look solely at a countries sphere of influence, there is no doubt USA would come
out on top every time. Due to this we can assume that a major decision such as that of legalizing
same–sex marriage will have a huge impact on a global level. Besides looking at this topic from an
international perspective, this essay will mainly focus on the internal social turmoil that legalization
of same sex marriage has had on the political, religious and social aspects due to the previous
conservative atmosphere which clouded American judgment in the past. Same–sex marriage has
now been legitimized in the USA, but there are still groups that are against it and continue to deny
the rights of the gay community (Baunach, 2011).
Homosexuality is becoming more and more common in the modern day. Individuals are more open
about their sexual orientation and are not afraid to be publicly gay or lesbian. The prevalence of
homosexuality in American males can be said to be 6.2% of the population while the prevalence for
American females is 3.6% of the population (Smart, 2007). However, these numbers refer to

A recent live performance I saw that left a huge artistic impact on me was Nederlands Dans
Theatre's "Woke Up Blind" at Fall for Dance on Friday, October 7th. The piece was a fifteen minute
new work, choreographed by Marco Goecke and set on seven of the first company's members. The
first premiere of the piece took place in The Hague, The Nederlands on February 4th 2016, but the
Fall for Dance performance at the New York City Centre was their United States premiere. The
lighting of the piece was of a darker scheme, using a lot of blue and black light. There were often
soft spotlights on certain dancers, but the stage was rarely lit as a whole. The dancers wore either
black or red pants. The men danced shirtless, and the women wore nude coloured leotards to give
the same allusion as having a bare torso. The simplicity of the costume worked well with the
simplicity of the lighting. It allowed for the performance's focus to be about the dancing as opposed
to external affectations. The piece was choreographed to two love songs, "You and I" by Jeff
Buckley and "The Way Young Lovers Do" by Van Morrison. The music created an erie mood,
accompanied by a sense of longing. The contemporary movement quality of the choreography,
along with the execution of the dancers, represented those two descriptions perfectly. There was a
definite story carried through the piece, as the dancers portrayed what it is like to be in love. While
being in love, one experiences feelings of happiness and

Then the movie focused on the question what did really happen to the dinosaurs? Sixty five million
years ago, a six mile wide asteroid hurtling through space at 15 kilometers per second slammed into
what is now Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula at a site known as Chicxulub. The impact had left a crater
110 to 170 miles in diameter buried nearly a kilometer underground and sparked massive volumes
of ash into Earth's atmosphere. This impact is believed to end the existence of the dinosaur and
paved the way for the rise of mammals and other species which is now in existence. Scientists have
identified 139 impact craters scattered over the surface of the Earth as a result of the main impact.
The collision was so catastrophic and enriched dust high into the atmosphere, shutting off sunlight
for weeks or months and cooling the planet. Acid rain and wildfires also followed the collision,
many plants died, as did many of the animals that ate them including the dinosaurs. Then the movie

prevent another major collision if imminent? Although there are many asteroids that strike the Earth

13. Parenting Styles Have A Huge Impact On The Developmental...
Parenting styles have a huge impact on the developmental process of children. In this paper I will be
explore the four different parenting styles that Baurmrind came up with. Behavioral and social
scientists recognize a group of basic categories in parenting styles: authoritarian, authoritative,
permissive, and neglectful (Baumrind, 1966; Maccoby and Martin, 1983). Authoritarian parents
have very high expectations for their children. According to Baumrind, these parents "are
obedience– and status–oriented, and expect their orders to be obeyed without explanation"
(Baumrind, 1967). The characteristics of authoritarian parents are: they do not allow their children
to make their own choices; warmth or nurturing is not expressed, and they ... Show more content on

Saying that I mean that these parents give these children the basic necessities such as clothes, food
and shelter but besides that the parent is emotionally unavailable. There are a number of things that
can contribute to parents being neglectful. First thing everyone goes to is drugs, that's a reason why
a parent can be neglectful but also it could just be the workload is very extreme and the parent does
not know how to prioritize their time so they throw material things at the child instead of love and
affection. The one thing that children need to develop is to know that they have a meaning on this
earth. Since authoritarian parents expect their children to obey all the rules that they have set out for
them the children are not confident to be independent and they never really learn what their personal
standards are. Children raised in these circumstances usually are very book smart but do not have
the street smarts that other children may have because of the barrier that the parents placed in their
life. A example of this is when a parents child gets ready to go to college without their parent its
going to be hard for that child to adjust to living on their own and having their own freedom.
Sometimes the outcome turns out bad and the child becomes wild because its not use to doing what
they want. Child development experts think that authoritative parenting style is the best approach to
parenting because the parents act as role models, the child tends to

14. Permian and Cretaceous Mass Extinctions Essay
Assess the different hypotheses put forward for the mass extinctions at the end of the Permian and
Cretaceous (KT) Periods.
A mass extinction is an event in which at least 25–75% of species in the global environment are
eradicated in a short period of time. Where as a regional extinction event is when the extinction is
confined to a specific zone. Five mass extinctions have occurred throughout time, two of the most
well known of these are the Permian and Cretaceous extinction events.
There are several hypotheses that are used to explain the causes of mass extinctions. Climate
change, the warming or cooling of global environments over a short period of time, can lead to other
occurrences. Shifts in climate can cause extinction by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A crater, the Bedout crater, in Australia has been discovered. A bolide impact would have lead to
mass death of marine and terrestrial organisms. The force of the impact could have released
methane from stored organic matter and large earthquakes. These earthquakes would have triggered
the volcanism in the Siberian traps, leading to the release of large amounts of CO2 and sulfur
dioxide. These gases combined with methane previously released would have created a noxious
atmosphere, combined with climate change that killed a large scale of life.
It is most likely that a simultaneous occurrence of the different global environmental changes was
responsible for ending the Permian period, and the lives of 96% of species. Each environmental
issue is a major geological event, and amplified the other events, leading to catastrophic
environmental situation, in which barely any life could survive.
The Cretaceous – Tertiary mass extinction, commonly referred to as the KT extinction, occurred 65
million years ago. As the most recant extinction event it is more easily studied as more evidence has
been preserved than for the earlier extinctions. This extinction is the most commonly known, as it is
the extinction of the dinosaurs, but the smallest scale mass extinction with only 76% of species
dying out.

In the past fifty years, technology has made such a huge impact on our world. Back when each

etc. used to be luxuries but now they are necessities. Although this does not seem like too much of a
problem to us humans, the constant updating of technology is a factor as to why we neglect nature.
Both of my parents were raised spending sunrise to sunset outside. They both played with

18. Extinction Of Dinosaurs Extinction
The extinction of dinosaurs could have been caused by many different things. One main reason that
is thought around the world is that dinosaurs went extinct because an asteroid fell onto earth at
speeds that are too fast for the human mind to even imagine. This idea was thought when and
asteroid crater was found near mexico. Also to support the facts many scientist found traces of rare
metal onto the earth's surface. This metal is not very common here but is really common in outer
space. Today we will be looking at why these huge creatures died of the face of the planet in just a
matter of months.
One reason, these greatebeastes were exterminated was that they alter the asteroid hit the ground a
huge ball of dust and debris was sent into the earth. This dust covered the earth in just a matter of
hours. This was crucial to their extinction because the sun was blocked plants did not receive and
sun light and herbivorous ( plant eating animals) could not get any food from the plants because
most of the plants died. This was just one of the first reasons that the dinosaur race was wiped of
this earth. You may ask how big the asteroid had to be, well put it into perspective the asteroid was
about the size of 110 empire state buildings and had the weight of 211,000 empire states buildings
put together. This asteroid was the biggest asteroid to ever hit earth that we know of. This big of a

20. Early Sepsis Protocol : A Huge Impact On Emergency Department
Early Sepsis Protocol The early sepsis protocol has a huge impact on Emergency Department (ED)
patients that are suspected of sepsis. The studies have shown that early recognition has a significant
effect on the patient's outcome. My paper will only analyze data collected in the critical care settings
and focus mainly on the importance of early recognition of the signs and symptoms of sepsis to
meet the three hour window treatment as recommended by the Surviving Sepsis Campaign (SSC).
Importance to the Science of Nursing I believe it's important to the Science of Nursing because early
recognition will prevent organ dysfunction which can lead to death. In some cases, the SSC
recommended Early Goal Directed Therapy (EGDT) based on patient presentation, vital sign and
lab studies. The EGDT bundles consist of early Intravenous Fluid (IV) resuscitation and IV broad
spectrum antibiotics should be given within three hours of serum lactate. According to the Center
for Disease Control (CDC), it's documented from 1999–2014, a total of 2,470,666 deaths were
associated with sepsis (CDC, 2016). After reading the CDC fact sheet, my conclusion is that most of
the sepsis cases that the EGDT bundle was not initiated on time (six hour compliance) due to early
recognition of signs and symptoms presented upon arrival and the lack of communication between
team members which delayed EGDT greater than six hour window. From the studies that I have

In addition to, other scholars have elaborated on the higher rates of divorce in America than other

sought for personal stability and clarification as a substitution of marital values, there–fore, leading
to short term marriages. In the scholarly article written by Frank Furstenberg Jr., Di–vorce and the
American Family, the topic about divorce rates being higher due to changes of age composition is
proposed. Furstenberg says that the many experts believe that the velocity of changes are due to
voluntary dissolution. He also expands on how divorce alters the course of childhood.
Frank Furstenberg Jr. used statistics from the Us Bureau of the Census 1989 to talk about how there
more children are born to single mothers in black households. African American moth–ers mostly

23. Slavery Made A Huge Impact On America 's History
Slavery made a huge impact on America's history. It has been exactly 150 years since Abraham
Lincoln abolished slavery. Before that, life for any slave, man or woman, was extremely rough.
They tried their best to make life easy for themselves. Some became fed up with their treatment so
they overtly and covertly rebelled. Overt being the open and more dangerous of the two. Covert
rebellions were more of snide comments towards their master. The life and rebellions of slaves were
extremely difficult, but they made do with what they had. All across early America, corn, sugar, rice
and cotton were grown. Cotton being the triumphant, grew very rapidly and needed to be handled by
the slaves. Cotton became very high in demand across the colonies, so the need for slaves grew
immensely along with their prices. When families able to be sold together, they lived in small cabins
called "the slave quarters." Their master provided clothes, but only for winter and summer. There
were many slaves who were not so fortunate, and were separated from their families. A man born as
a slave, John Jefferson Smallwood, had been separated from his mother at only five months old. In
the attached article, Smallwood found out he was kept by his master until the age of twenty one, did
not agree with that so he took his master to trial, but lost the trial. Later, in 1890, Smallwood found

have had a mentally lasting impact from it based from his initial reaction. Another woman you most
definitely could not ignore was Kurtz's African Mistress. She caught the eye of Marlow based off of
the vivid description given. He mentions that She walked with measured steps, draped in striped and
fringed clothes, treading the earth proudly, carrying her head high, her hair was in the shape of a
helmet, she had brass leggings to the knee, brass wire gauntlets, etc, etc, you get the point. This
woman isn't just Kurtz's mistress, she carries the personification of Africa herself, dark and
mysterious and from Marlow's description of her being gorgeous, embodying all the beauty, mystery
and danger within Africa. She also carries some power with her or influence over the natives around

Zoologists study animals and other wildlife and how they interact with their ecosystems, They study
the physical characteristics of animals, animal behaviors and the impacts humans have on wildlife
and natural habitats as well as write articles and books on findings. One of the many zoologists who
has made a huge impact on this field of work is Jane Goodall. She lived with primates for a portion
of her life, studying them and educating herself on their way of life opening doors to some of the
most amazing discoveries. There are multiple ways you can use a degree in zoology, "Many
Zoologists work for colleges, zoos, museums, governments and businesses. Zoologists are

26. American Pie Is A Song That Made A Huge Impact On Americans
American Pie is a song that made a huge impact on Americans in any time period. Don McLean
sang about the events from the nineteen fifties through nineteen seventies after Buddy Holly's death.
Many events from those years are controversial. McLean also stated how music changed from these
decades. Rock 'n Roll used to be popular since the fifties. American Pie by Don McLean describes
the transition in Rock 'n Roll music from the iconic history of the mid nineteen hundred.
Nonetheless, many critics assume the first line of the chorus relates to McLean 's relationship with
the Miss America contestant. According to the Understanding American Pie website, the catchy
phrase, "So bye bye, Miss American Pie," refers to, "the beauty queen Miss America" (Fann 3)."
During McLean 's successful career, he dated Miss America, which Americans said that she is as
American as an apple pie. She represents the simplicity in American history that carried meaning.
Miss America does not correlate with the theme of the song. The transformation of Rock 'n Roll
music was impacted by different elements instead of Miss America. The lyric, "So bye bye, Miss
American Pie," that Americans assume is the Miss America never cause the change of events and
music. Primarily, McLean wrote this song after his Rock 'n Roll musicians who crashed in the plane
accident. Based on the Genius website, Don McLean quoted a phrase in the chorus that repeats, "[

27. Essay The Extinction of The Dinosaurs
Rapid climate change also ends up on the suspect list of possible dinosaur extinction events. During
the latter part of the Cretaceous Period continents broke up causing volcanoes to erupt and fill the
sky with gas and ash resulting in a drastic climate change ("Dinosaurs Climate Change and
Biodiversity"). The shifting of continents changed the Earth's landscape, altering weather patterns
and overall climate ("Dinosaur Extinction Theories"). Also, over a long period of time, climate
gradually changed. Ocean habits changed, temperatures grew much more extreme causing scorching
summers and frigid winters (Norell, Dingus, and Gaffney). Radical temperature changes like these

They say as mammals continued to evolve, they drove the dinosaurs into extinction ("What Killed
the Dinosaurs"). "Not only did mammals likely compete with dinosaurs for resources, many species
survived the end–Cretaceous extinction and subsequently came to dominate Earth." ("What Killed
the Dinosaurs?"). This is primarily because the early mammals were a lot smaller than the mammals
that exist today. "Some of the world's earliest mammals were the multituberculates, a group of small
rodent like animals that first emerged on Earth about 165 million years ago." (Welsh, Jennifer).
Scientists predict that any mass extinction event that caused animals to go extinct affected larger
animals than it did the smaller animals, such as mammals ("Dinosaurs Became Extinct 'due to
Laying Eggs'"). Mammals remained small for almost 100 million years, while they out competed
small and baby dinosaurs for food, shelter and resources until they were extinct. Once the dinosaurs
were out of the way mammals were able to evolve and grow large in size like the mammals that
exist today today (LiveScience). Fossil evidence sheds some light on this theory as well. Fossils of
mammals believed to date back to about eighty five million years ago show that mammals began to
change rapidly and grow. "This matches up with other mammal groups, including recently
discovered species from the Late Cretaceous (between 100 million and 65 million years ago)

30. The Construction Industry Has A Huge Impact On The...
Voluntarily or involuntarily, the construction industry has a huge impact on the environment. It is
estimated that the construction industry in the United States consumes about 39% of the total energy
and 72% of the electricity produced within the country (Kansal and Kadambari 2010). Also as
projected by Ashuri et al. (2011) the CO2 emissions from buildings will grow faster over the next 25
years, if the construction business continues as usual. Apart from the construction activities which
consume a lot of energy, most of the energy consumption also occurs during the operational phase
of these buildings (Menassa 2011). Hence, building operational energy consumption plays a very
important role in the long run. Also it has a tremendous effect on the overall costs of the building
(Gasic et al. 2012). In a world of sustainability, energy efficiency is considered as one of the least
costly and most effective tools to reduce carbon emissions and global warming (Jafari and Valentin
2016). Retrofitting the old buildings is one of the cheapest solutions to move towards energy
efficiency, which reduces the existing problem of energy consumption and greenhouse gas
emissions (Calì et al. 2011). The objective of this research is to introduce an approach for evaluating
the most lucrative point for both owners and the environment in retrofitting institutional buildings

Science has, for centuries now, been a way to answer unknowns and change questions into answers.
From the cause of seasons, to the human genome, science has made a huge impact on the world, in
the way we function and think. Science has allowed the expansion of life across the globe, and
allowed the fears, such as those of falling off of the edge of the earth, to be eliminated. Science
exists only to answer questions that are hypothesized by the human brain, but sometimes science
can be flawed. To be more accurate one must state that the problem is not with science being
flawed, the long standing issue is the flawed scientist, and the nature of the human brain. The flaw
in the human brain is feelings, and for the purpose of this paper, bias. Bias is almost impossible to
control in one way or another, bias can be as small as liking green over red. For the purpose of this
papers argument the bias is racial. Scientific racism is the use of science, most commonly ostensible
science, to substantiate and justify racist philosophies and positions. Often these pseudo scientists
would ignore and fabricate results and conclusions, to correlate positively with their hypothesis.
These skewed results were then shared through scientific journals, with other intellectuals and then
the public. Multiple forms of scientific racism were used in the 19th century to justify the social,
physical, and mental disparities and abuse of minorities in America. The modern concept of race, in

"Be remembered!" echoes through my mind every time I get up to bat. From tee ball to now, softball
has made a massive impact on my life. Ever since I was five years old, I have been playing the game
that I love the most. Imagine standing on a softball field expected to perform at the age of 5. Even
though the butterflies in my stomach were starting a war, nothing was going to stop me from
stepping on that field to play my first tee ball game as a Little Tiger. Fans cheered, but what I
noticed most was a little boy in the outfield picking his nose. Standing in the box, I was terrified; the
field looked huge. I had never seen anything like this before, but I knew that the little boy was the
person I needed to hit the ball to, so I hit the ball as hard as I could. The ball went soaring through
the air like a bird on fire. Dropping from the air, it rolled to the fence. At that time, I knew I had
fallen in love with the game of softball. I was smiling from ear to ear, I couldn't believe I had hit the
ball that far! Both sides screamed, yelled, and shouted with excitement. Was all this commotion for
me? I rounded first, but I couldn't go to second because my teammate, Kylie Leach, didn't run. I
didn't know what she was doing. Sadly, the batter after me hit a ground ball to the pitcher, and the
other team threw him out at first. It was time to swap sides. I can remember my daddy walking me

Agriculture is facing today. The last topic that I found interesting was the breakthroughs in the
medical field. I picked this topic because medicine and technology advancements also has a huge
impact on our everyday lives. The first topic I pick was technology in our everyday lives. When we
first starting talking about technology in our everyday lives, I didn't really understand how much we

anyone who was nose deep in their phone. Most of the people I asked didn't say hello back. Some of
them didn't even look up from their phones and I even got a couple dirty looks like I said something

After watching the short film "The Middle School Moment," and hearing the research finding of Dr.
Robert Balfanz, took me by surprise on how serious the issue about kids dropping out is. I found it
shocking in discovering that about 7,000 students dropped out of school everyday. Not only that but
the fact that their personal lives and society play a huge role in their decisions, which schools tend
to ignore. Another thing that I found interesting about the video was the prevention program that
was adopted by Middle School 244 in the Bronx, and how it gave struggling students like Omarina
Cabrera, the opportunity to continue their education after having issues preventing them from
getting a proper education.
In the film many points were made out on the issue of student dropouts and how there are many
contributions, but one that really stood out to me was when Dr. Robert Balfanz made a comment on
how middle school is mostly the stage where dropout students develop habits, leading them to start
skipping school and losing interest of attending. Then they also made the comment in the film how
these kids do want a future, but in order for them to achieve that adults need to do their part by not
only supporting them but also willing to help them along the way. I can definitely agree with that
because kids depend on adults to support them and be guidance along the way, whether they realize
it or not adults have a big impact on students.

places for sea turtles to nest. Other places include anywhere with warm waters and beaches that are
not over populated by other kinds of species. Which can cause yet another challenge for the turtles
to have to overcome. Sea turtles lay an average of about 100 eggs in each nest, and lay an average of
3–7 nests during their nesting season (Tim Flannery). Also in Florida, along about a twenty mile
stretch of beach sea turtles lay over 150,000 pounds of eggs in the sand every nesting period. Which
would seem like enough to keep their population up, but it is not that simple. Now why are sea turtle
populations shrinking you may ask? Well, that's simple. Climate change is not the only threat that a
sea turtle has to fear. Along with climate change sea turtles face the fear of being eaten, not being

40. Money Has A Huge Impact On Societal Change And Progress
First and foremost, money had a huge impact on societal change and progress. If parents were
wealthy, they had the option to send their kids back home to get a "proper" education, while some
middle class parents could provide tutors for their kids; however many parents could not afford
them. The lower class really didn't get the opportunity to provide even the most basic education to
their children. Homeschooling was an option, but many parents did not have enough education
themselves let alone having the ability to be capable to teach their own children. I think we can
relate to this in our society today because a lot of people make the choice not to go to college
because their parents can't afford to pay and neither can they. Yes there are student loans, but not
everyone gets approved for them and if they do, they may spend half of their lifetime paying them
off. There are also scholarships but those are extremely competitive as well. But if a student does
receive a scholarship, the can attend a college or university for little to no cost. Think about how
much our society has progressed; we never used to have colleges or universities and now we do, our
curriculum is more advanced and opportunities to have a better future have greatly increased with
the level of education we can offer in tour society today. This allows for people to become even
