1. The girl in the photograph This film poster represents a horror film from the dark
lighting in the background, which shows a house or a hall
which shows it could be in a home which is typical for a
horror film to be set in, they used dark lightning to make
the poster more daunting, the lighting in the background
has been blurred out to focus on the girl. The girls make
up stands out as her face is so white compared to the
black costume and black background. They have made
the makeup make her look supernatural, the black
mascara running down her face makes it seem as though
she's miserable, the black makeup is so heavy you cant
even see her eyes which shows how dark and cold
hearted she is. The red lipstick shows danger and death.
The black hooded jumper is a generic feature to horror
films as it shows she doesn’t want to be seen and she's
hiding her identity as she doesn’t want to be seen.
As she's wearing gloves it shows she doesn’t want her
fingerprints on the camera as maybe she's the one taking
pictures. This is a generic film poster as the colours are all
dark apart from her makeup the main focus is on the girl
and the camera, which lets the audience guess what the
plot is about. The font is in bold and is in white as the
background is black so it is easy to read the text it is
typical for the movie name to be in bold so its noticeable
from the rest of the poster. The text at the bottom is
conventional as it lets people know the details of the film
and when it will be released

2. The purge: election year
The purge film poster represents a horror film as its
got typical generic features such as the main image of
everyone dressed up in costumes this is used to grab
the audiences attention the image they used is a
medium long shot which allows the audience to see
the background and also the costumes the characters
are in. The font of the text is in bold as it is the main
title and needs to be one of the main features on the
page so the audience can notice it easily. The colours
are bright and obvious which shows the film is
energetic and a bit crazy as lots may be going on. The
characters are all wearing costumes which represents
America this could show the danger in America and
how they are over powering the country, the statue
of liberty shows freedom and from the purge it is
giving people the freedom to kill ad hunt, the
characters are also hiding their identity makes it
easier to kill people ad makes it more disturbing.
